Well, for the first time we can say we are in one Spokane Stadium, downtown Spokane, where this evening the first game on the turf here will pit the Clarkston Bantams against the North Central Wolfpack in 2A action here this evening.

I don't think probably even maybe a week ago we thought this whole thing would be done and ready to go. But it is open. People can sit.

The press box is open, the field looks great. Everything looks good. I was here on Monday and I'm just. It's staggering the amount of work they've done between then and now to be able to get this place ready. I didn't expect concession stands to be open, locker rooms were still questionable.

When we came up and got a tour of the press box on Monday, there was open wiring and no countertops. I mean, they've done a remarkable job to get this place open on time, but just in the last two weeks to get it to the point where, you know, we're not only playing but hosting it like it was a regular season game. I mean, when they gave the, when they gave the official media tour a couple weeks ago, you know, they still hadn't even put the turf in. Right. So we figured, you know, they'd get the turf in, there'd be places to sit.

But they've just done a remarkable job the last two weeks to get everything ready for tonight. It's not done. There's not a lot of, I don't know whether there will be any GSL logoing on the field because soccer will play here as well. But there's still some things to be done on it. But I mean, just sitting from where we're at, this is not a bad view, right?

No, there's going to be a lot of dressing up. I got to imagine in the, in the north end zone there's a big wall that I gotta imagine they'll hang advertising and that type of thing. They've got, you know, they've got the temporary food trucks over on the, on the, on the roadside and temporary porta potties. Apparently some of the fixtures on the roadside they didn't have, aren't in yet. But you know that's, it's more than window dressing.

But there are still some things that they need to work on. But you just walk around this place and everybody' happy to be here and everything's, you know, everything smells like fresh paint and everything. So it's, they've really done a remarkable job. Let's talk about the action coming up tomorrow because there are big games at every level. Let's start with a two way game that'll be played here.

This wouldn't have been a big game until this year. Rogers 40 for the first time since 1968 versus Shadow park in a battle for what probably at very least a top three position in the gsl because you've got Clarkston, West Valley to deal with as well. Yeah, absolutely. You know, Shadow Park's already got a league loss. You mentioned Roger.

Undefeated. But they've only played one league game so far. They beat Pullman on the road last week. Doubled them up 40 to 20. You know, Rodgers is getting their due.

You know, they were, they were, they were. When the RPI came out yesterday, they were number two in 2A. That's probably a little bit lofty. I mean, the RPI's early season, the numbers really get skewed. But they were number eight in the media poll.

They're legit. I mean, Rodgers is legit. Aaron Kinsey, the quarterback, every time he touches the ball, whether it's at quarterback, whether it's returning an interception, whether it's returning a kickoff. Anytime he touches it, he can take it to the house. Shadow Park's a good team.

They're run heavy this year, but this is going to be a really good game. And that's tomorrow night here in the stadium at 7 o'. Clock. It'll also be broadcast on SWX. Two big three A4A games tomorrow.

Let's start with the one closest to here. That would be a Gonzaga Prep, where Ridgeline comes to town. And the Falcons have been one of the surprises, I suppose, on the 3A 4A side, maybe the surprise. You know, we're so close, we'll probably be able to see Gonzaga Prep Stadium lights from where we're sitting here. That's how close it is.

But you're absolutely right, you know, again, a battle of contrasting styles. Tomorrow night. Obviously, Gonzaga Prep wants to run the ball. They've run it 30, 40, 50 times a game. They're averaging over 230 yards on the ground.

Ridgeline is the complete opposite. They throw it almost every play. They had a game this year where they only ran it four times. So they're going to use that, that hitch offense that they have to use those quick hitters as runs, essentially. The quarterback, Landon Gardner is highly accurate and Braden Allen again is a guy that catches everything that's within eight feet of him.

He brings it in and he's a guy that they really rely on in their passing game. And then tomorrow night up at Union Stadium, CV taking on Mead. Neither team can afford another loss. No, that's the truth. Mead already has two losses.

Another one would pretty much prohibit it, any chance of postseason play. Central Valley has been up and down this year and they, they kind of took it on the chin last week to a very good Moses Lake team at home. I know they'll be itching to get back out, and I think Seabee's still in the process of trying to figure out who they are. You know, they lost an awful lot of offense from last year. They're still trying to figure out.

One week. One week they're throwing it, one week they're running it. And I think they're trying to find their identity as they go. Dave, thanks for coming in. As always, my pleasure.

It is. It really looks nice. The lights. I think it's going to be a well lit stadium. The seating basically goes straight up or down.

I mean, where we're at in the press box isn't that far off the sidelines. I mean it's. The sight lines from your seats are going all going to be good. Especially if you're in the west side stands and you can sit right on the field level. I mean right on the field, you're sitting down there.

That's not going to be good when teams in front of you because you got to look through them, but you're right on the field in terms of the way the stand set up. So there's an open house coming up on Sunday. I would encourage people to come out that want to see it. And it's great for the Spokane Public Schools because they've been wandering in the wilderness here for the past three years looking for a stadium to play play at after Albie went. Bye bye.

Yes. So congratulations to the Spokane School district. Congratulations to the public facilities district because they. And it's not done yet. No.

But they both did a lot of work to make this to the. Where we could have action here this evening. Absolute mea Copa and a hat's off. Tip. Tip of the cat to them.

And I'm just excited for the fans. I'm excited for the players, the coaches, the cheerleaders, the bands, everybody that get a chance to come down here, they deserve to have this opportunity. I think it's great. All right, game on the field. North Central is a heavy underdog in this game.

Big time. Big time. Yeah, they've had a tough time, Larry. This is a rebuild. And unfortunately the GSL has a tendency to pound on teams that are not doing very well.

Clarkston got off to a great start. Then they kind of ran into a buzzsaw against West Valley. But they're a very, very good football team that can throw the ball through the air. They can also run it and they have one of the better defenses at this level in the Greater Spokane League. So from that standpoint, you know, you just want to see North Central have some success, get some things going, put the football in the end zone and try to get some stops on defense.

I just think it's going to be a tough, tough night of sledding for North Central because Clarkston I think is pretty darn good. This portion of our pregame show presented by Divine Corporation. We've got West Valley on top there at two and oh Rogers is at one zero. Then Shadow Park, Clarkston and Pullman are all at one and one. East Valley is zero one and North Central is zero two. On the three A four A side, Mount Spokane on top at four zero. Then Gonzaga Preps three and oh Ridgelines at three and one.

So that big battle there tomorrow between those teams. Seabees at 2 and 1, Mead's at 1 and 2, UHI's at 1 and 2, Ferris and LC are 1 and 3 and Cheney is zone 4 going into play tomorrow. We just mentioned talked about that with Dave Nichols. Other sports going on in the GSL last night. Soccer. Girls soccer was Mead edging U High. Ridgeline shut out Ferris.

Mount Spokane dominated Central Valley. Cheney blanked North Central. Gonzaga Prep defeated Lewis and Clark Volleyball on Tuesday in two way. It was West Valley over Rogers Clarkston edged East Valley, Shadow park defeated Pullman on the 3A 4A side. Mount Spokane beat North Central, Gonzaga Prep over Ridgeline, Ferris, Edge, DU High, LC Blank, Cheney and Mead down Central Valley and then on the softball field they had their games out at Merkle Field Tuesday night.

Four diamonds out there under the lights. Four games. Gonzaga Prep beat Rodgers, Ferris over Lewis and Clark, Mount Spokane clobbered Mead and Ridgeline thumped East Valley out there. And those are scores of other games plus your standings going into play here this evening. On the football side.

Sturm heating since 1945 and we're just getting started. All right, welcome back to our pregame show from One Spokane Stadium. It's Clarkston taking on North Central here this evening. And it's time for our keys to the game presented by State Bank Northwest. Mr.

Sorensen. Well, 10 starters, you know, on defense are seniors. Clarkston's done a nice job. They also have six players that are two way players. But this is really a team that can spin the football.

Larry, you know, between Steinwan and Crabber, that was, that's your combination. But they also run the ball well. They average over 100 yards a game rushing up close to 260 through the air. So this is a team that can move the football utilizing both legs and the arm and they're going to try to keep North Central off balance and they're a team that really sets the run game up with the pass game.

So I think we're going to see the football a lot through the air. But it's going to be interesting to keep an eye on those six two way players. Do they get tired midway through the fourth, you know, through the third, into the fourth quarter? You know, from that standpoint, North Central on the other side is just trying to find an identity. They're trying to figure out something that works.

They're going to try to put the ball on the ground, but this is a pretty good defense that Clarkston has there. They're one of their in the top third of the Greater Spokane League in terms of overall defense. In terms of the stats we had, it's not complete, but I think it's going to be tough sledding. So really for North Central it's a matter of not turning the football off over, not penalizing themselves, getting some positive momentum, see if they can get some turnovers, maybe a couple picks, maybe a fumble, something along those lines.

On the positive side, that they'll need to kind of flip the tables against Clarkston. If I were North Central and know nothing about football, I know for a fact that I'd be. 09 if I was the head coach in North Central, but I would just come with a full blitz every time and try to make their quarterback throw it before he's ready, get him off his spot. They do have the dropsies occasionally from their receiving corps. Seven last game at Clarkston.

So, you know, I do get beat if you get run over by a truck or do you get beat if you, you know, get sliced a thousand times and bleed out. I mean, either way. Yep. Death by a thousand slices or just give up the bomb, you know. So I think you do a combination of both.

And I think the key in that is, you know, is Clarkson known to throw on first down? If so, blitz, you know, if that's the try to get them off their mark, make them uncomfortable. If they have a case of the drop seize, then you can put some pressure on him because now he's not having the time to stand back there and pick this defense apart. But if they're a team that likes to run the ball to set up the pass, then you can also run some run blitzes as well to play good gap defense between the tackles. So I think that's a great idea.

And if I'm the coach, that's something I would do. I just think that they can't man up man to man with them. I don't think I would agree with that in the secondary. So you don't want those guys running all over the place wide open. So you know what, blitz, I agree with you.

So we'll see what they do here this evening and how they play things. North Central, as I mentioned earlier, in their charcoal uniforms with red numerals, white pants with red and black trim and black helmets. And Clarkston will be in their road whites here this evening. White jerseys, red numerals, white pants. And I think they also had no, they have red helmets here this evening.

So North Central, the only team out there warming up at this point in time. Clarkston has gone back to the locker room for some instructions from their head coach. That's a large high school line that is. And that means that they if they get off the ball well, they're going to be a tough load to handle, especially running it. The tight end is Josh Hoffman. He is a big young man, 6ft 3, 220 pounds. Their wide receivers are Stephen Alfred.

They will also start Mercicio Noriega And Riken Kraber will start at the receivers. Kraber is their leading receiver. He is a senior, he's a Junior. Excuse me. Six feet tall and 170 pounds.

Their running back here this evening is going to be J. J. deSanto. J. J.

deSarno, excuse me, he is five eight, 180 pounds, he is a senior. And their quarterback is Carter Steinwand, a returning from last year, big size, 6ft 4, 220 pounds. He is the signal caller for this Clarkston Bantams team. Defensively they play a five two front and up front they have got Trace Green, 195 pound senior. Also Ian Moore going two ways at six seven two four five.

Ronan Lisney also going two ways. And Sage Lone Bear is a two way starter on the defensive front as well. And the final D lineman is Tristan erbst, he is 6, 3 and 185 pounds. The two linebackers, Josh Hoffman, two way starter along with Emmett Slag, 175 pound senior. And then in the secondary they have Ryken Craver who is a two way starter.

Also Hayden Lyon, 180 pound junior, will start in the secondary. Stephen Alfred goes both ways. He is a 175 pound junior. And the final defensive back is Bodhi the verge, he is 165lbs senior. So that is your starting lineup for the Clarkston Bantams.

For the North Central Wolf pack they will go up front like this. Gabriel Peterson is their center. He's a 200 pound junior. Cole woods is a 250 pound junior. At one guard.

The other guard is Jacob Sanchez, a 260 pound sophomore. And their tackles are Riley Heminger, he is 165 pounds and a junior. And the other tackle is Seth Bromley, 6, 3, 2, 25 a senior. Their tight end is Zach Schleder, 190 pound junior. The wide receivers, three of them, Nick Elliott who was a starter last year as a freshman, he's 180 pound sophomore.

Matt Campbell, 170 pound senior. And Vance Taylor, 160 pound junior. Their running back, we saw him last year and liked him. He was a good hard runner. Trey workman, he is 180 pound senior.

And the quarterback is a sophomore. Trevel Jones will get the start. Tommy Elliott was the returning starter for this team but he is not starting at quarterback this evening. He will start on defense, so he's healthy. But it'll be the sophomore Trevel Jones who will get the call.

They have the toss of the coin going down there on the field right now. And North Central has won the toss and they will receive the football. They will go from south to north or right to left as we look at it here at One Spokane Stadium. Defensively it's a four three for North Central. The ends are Seth Bromley, a 225 pound senior.

And Dominic Vaughn, 180 pound sophomore. The tackles, Kevin Richardson, a two way starter. No, I take that back. He is not a two way starter. Richardson, 62250, a junior.

And Cole woods who is a two way starter, a 250 pound junior. The linebackers are Tommy Elliott who was their quarterback, but he's not this week. 185 pounds senior. Jameson Ebaugh also goes at linebacker. He's 165 pound senior.

And Keegan Schnell is the third linebacker, 175 pound junior. Their cornerbacks are Rylan Kyle, he's 170 pound sophomore. And Skyler Pierce, 160 pound junior. And the safety's Nick Elliott, 180 pound sophomore. And Nick Floyd, 155 pound sophomore.

So three sophomores and a junior in their secondary, Paul, against a quarterback who's experienced and likes to throw it. Yep. And that means you're going to have to disguise stuff if they have the ability to do that or as you mentioned and you just don't want him to sit back there because he will pick you apart. So this is a team that can score some points in the games. Before the West Valley game they were averaging 36 points per ballgame. That got held down last week some by West Valley NC their own 2,04 overall, their conference losses against Pullman 35 to 7 and last week to Shadl 62 27. Their non conference losses came against Lake City 34 to nothing and Colville 27 to 14. North Central is scoring 12 points a game on average and allowing 39 and a half points per game on average Coming into this game here this evening it's Clarkston taking on North Central, the first ever game at One Spokane Stadium and a little rain has started to fall here this evening in Spokane.

Clarkston. Oh and two or excuse me, two and two on the season. One and one in the GSL North Central is 02 and 04 I would think. Paul Sorensen it's going to be a thrill for these young people to play in this game on this field in this stadium here this evening just with how great it looks. And there's quite a few Clarkston fans that made their way north.

Well, you have to remember they haven't had a home for what is it Three years now since. Since we left Albie, you know, and they tore that thing down and it's a nice big pasture out there right now, so. The GSL is the Spokane Public Schools. You know, the five schools. Ferris, lc, North Central, Shadow and Rogers have played at Union Stadium, Central, Valley U High, everybody.

But they didn't have a place to play. They have a home now, and having a home like this is pretty darn cool. So I think that's going to fire everybody up. Read something for us. Oh, hey, thank you, dad.

Okay, here we go. They will move right to left or south to North. As we look at it, they'll be defending the goal near the podium, if you want to think of things that way.

So ready to kick it off is Stephen Alfred for Clarkston. And two players are back deep to receive for nc. Can you read their numbers? Not really. I've got the field glasses out here because they have dark uniforms with.

With red. Light red. So you have gray with light red? Yeah. That bodes well.

They've got Josiah Dunn and Nick Elliot back deep to receive here, and the officials are holding play up here, not allowing the teams to kick off yet. I don't know whether they're waiting for the starting lineup to be introduced by the public address, which is my guess as to what they're doing. All right, so again, we've got more football for you tomorrow night. By the way, the rain has stopped here now. And so tomorrow night, CV plays Mead.

North Central in charcoal gray jerseys. And then red numerals on those jerseys. Black helmets and white pants here this evening. So now the ball is up on the tee. They're gonna let him kick it off.

High short kick grabbed by one of the up men at the 20. Running up the left side, gets to the 30 and struggles forward to about the 33 yard line.

And that's where NC will start it. First down and 10. And we will try to tell you who it was that ran that kick back if we can. At a point, peers like it was Caleb McCollum. And then the funny Part is television normally is going to be over in this, this building, but they had to go across because their little connector things didn't work.

So they, you know, there's going to be a couple foibles at the start of the, of the year. All right, so Trevelle Jones, the quarterback, running back, Workman behind him on first down from the 33 yard line. Motion coming through to the right side out of the pistol formation. They fake it to Workman running to the right side and getting dragged down from behind at about the 34 yard line. That might have been a horse collar.

Tackle woods for a gain of a yard, but Namek's got the headset on and Rick Lukens is here as well. You gentlemen were honored for a well deserved honor for all the work you've done with Friday night Sports Extra and founding that program. This was a cool surprise and what a great night. A lot of fun. A lot of fun.

This is a nice stadium. It really is. We've got nice digs here. We do. Hang on there just a minute.

We'll ask you one more question and then we'll let Rick say something here because I'm sure Rick's got something to say. Second, second down and nine. They're showing the blitz out of the Pistol. Running back in motion off to the right side. So now it's an empty backfield.

Free rusher coming in. Woods running for his life to the left side. He's got room. He crosses the 40 yard line, is pushed out of bounds near first down territory. They may give it to him up at the 43 yard line.

So I mean, you want to pretend I'm Sorensen. That was a bad spot. He stepped up, you know, from the days you started Friday night Sports Extra though to have this stadium, that's got to be unbelievable. Yeah, Albie was old when we were young and this is just fantastic. I've just enjoyed walking around and looking at stadium and just.

And it's loud on the field, it's there. Not a ton of fans right the distance of the field, but boy, it is loud when you get to the middle of the field. North Central students are representing tonight. Only one wide receiver, third and inches just short of their own 43. And out of the pistol they handed off Workman.

First down run. He gets to the 44 trying to break a tackle. Can't do it. But his forward progress is going to be a couple of yards and it'll be a Damon orthodontics. First down, Rick Lukens.

You've been here for a long time. This is a lot of fun. I have. This is this. Larry, you can't imagine the honor for them to ask us to come out and help open this stadium for high school football.

It means a lot. I get a little choked up. It's. It's really special. First down and 10, North Central.

They got the first first down of the game. They have the ball on the left hash at their own 44. One wide receiver, they've got a fullback offset to the right of woods, the quarterback and the tailback behind him in Workman out of the pistol formation. They will again give it to Workman off right guard. He will struggle across the 45 and get to the 48, maybe the 49, for the gain of four or five more yards.

I mean, that's. When you think back over your career, Rick, I mean, Friday night Sports Extra, is that one of the things you're most proud of, being part of that? It is the thing, Larry, because I was thinking about this today. Of all the things that Bud and Dennis and I did on television and on radio, this is the thing that reached the largest amount of people over the longest period of time. Yeah, it's.

It's really important to us, Larry. Thank you for asking. Absolutely. Second down and six out of the pistol. Woods wants to throw, he's got some time.

Fires, has a catch over the 45 yard line of Clarkston. That's going to be a first down. It's the tight end Schlatter who hauls it in. And that's going to be a pickup of about 14 yards there or about 10 yards there, I should say. And a first down.

Another Damon Orthodontics first down here. Are you at all surprised, Rick, that there that this stadium is up and running here and that it looks so good? You know, the thing is, I don't drive by that. I used to work across the street. I don't drive by this part of town more.

So like one day I came by and go, dang, this thing's almost done. It's awesome. It's awesome. On first down and 10, they run option to the right side, pitch back Workman, he crosses the 40 and gets run out of bounds about the 35 yard line. Rick, Bud, thanks for you both.

And I want to thank Paul Sorensen for giving up the microphone for a moment. That's very unlikely. You don't understand what a relief that is. Okay, thanks, guys. Thank you, Larry.

Bud Namek, Rick Lukens, Dennis Patchen. All right, out of the pistol on second down, they hand it off. Workman off the left side trying to get outside to the corner being strung out. And he will be dropped for maybe a loss of a yard there on that play. As he kept trying to go to the outside, they kept stringing him out on that play.

Great job so far. Good run pass combination between, you know this team. North Central is changing it up. They're keeping Clarkson's defense on their heels right now. This has been an excellent drive.

Big third down coming up for North Central. I hope they can figure out a way to continue this thing. Put the pressure on this Clarkson defense. So third down here and recall it. About four yards to go.

The ball just inside the 36 yard line. A long three or a short four. Running back in the backfield behind woods, the quarterback. Four men down on the line for Clarkston. Ball from the left hash mark.

Woods will throw for it. Pressure coming in. Little pump fake, wanting to set up a screen through the hands of his receiver. Incomplete. It looked like it was Matthew Campbell or Schletter, one or the other.

That was the intended receiver there. So it'll be fourth down. I think you're out of field goal range here, so I think you go for it on fourth down. That was a good play. A lot of bodies though in there in terms of Clarkson trying to create that screen.

So that was a tough look there. He hit his receiver just a little bit high, went through his hands. So fourth down and about three and a half for a first down here. They have three wide receivers to the short side of the field, the left side. One man wide to the right.

Motion coming through from Nick Elliott off to the right side. And woods out of the pistol, will roll to the right side being pursued. Throws to the right sidelines. Diving try. Incomplete.

Pretty well thrown ball there. Just led his intended receiver by a skosh. And was that Elliott? I think that might have been Elliott on the other end or Maddox Watson. Hard to tell between 25 or 26.

That was actually a great, well drawn offensive play that time. They blitzed. Clarkson, brought the pressure. Quarterback didn't have A lot of opportunity there. The young, young junior.

Actually the young sophomore did what he did. He bought time, got to the right side, threw the ball where he thought his receiver was going to be and as Larry said, just the skosh out in front and fell in complete. Clarkson's gonna get the football with pretty good field position. 838 remaining to play. First quarter in a scoreless game.

They've got two receivers tight to the formation to the right side. Two men wide, left ball on the right hash at their own 36. Motion coming and they will hand it off on the fly sweep. Running to the right side. There's an opening across 35, over the 40 to the 45.

And getting running out of bounds is Stephen Alfred on the fly sweep. He will get to the 47 yard line. It looks like a Damon Orthodontics first down and a pickup of 11. Nice job. Block on the outside by the wide receiver Noriega.

The. The young man's a junior and he was able to seal the corner. That allowed the running back to get up field, get some positive yards, pick up a first down there. Nearly broke it. Safety, linebacker ended up coming over for NC and finally knocking him down.

But good play on the the outside there by Noriega. So first down and 10. Clarkston ball in the right hash at their own 47. Scoreless game. We've played nearly four minutes.

Running back Desarno behind the quarterback or just to the right of the quarterback actually Steinwand. Motion from Alfred. They fake it to him, give it to Disarno. Big opening off the left side. Over the 50, 45.

Still on his feet down to the 40 yard line. They may put him at the 41. We will see. They will give him to the 41. That'll be a pick of a 12 and another first down.

Good tackle by the safety that time. He saved the touchdown. He juked one of the corners. Nice run that. That was just a zone read to the left side very well.

Blocked tackle was able to seal and kick out. Guard was able to hold the block. Linebacker got caught up in the wash. And so far the running backs have gotten downfield Larry with not much resistance and the safeties and corners are having to make some plays. Clarkston now at the Wolfpack 41.

First down and 10. They are huddling up and they're still in their huddle. Down to nine on the play clock. They've got to hustle up or they're gonna be guilty of delay a game here. Yeah, first penalty in the stadium.

Down to two, down to one. They're just getting to the line of scrimmage. That's that whistles or at zero. And Clarkston's going to take a timeout here, I believe. Yes.

Really going back to like I think 1983 is when they all started together. First down and 10 for the Bantams at the 41 in North Central.

They will hand it off. Running to the right side, having a little seam, trying to bounce outside and getting tripped up. Nice defense there. Nick Elliot coming up on the knockdown that time of the runner. That is Hayden line and that is a gain of four yards down to the 37.

Elliott already has three tackles from his safety spot. He came up and filled the seam really well there. Just a nice open field tackle. Good technique through the head, across the thighs. Kind of the alligator tackle got him to the ground.

That's how they teach it. Very nice job by that young man. Noriega split to the right side, ball on the right hash. They have trips to the left here. On second and six from the Wolfpack 37.

Clarkston with the football and they will throw it very quickly out. There's a catch at about the 40. Weaving through traffic, getting to the 35 and then getting knocked down at about the 34 yard line is the receiver and I think that was Hayden line again that made the catch. And it'll be a gain of about three yards. Just a little kind of two receiver route out there.

One receiver drops back, catch, catches ball. The other receivers out there blocking. Good job. They're getting to the perimeter. They're making North Central's defense chase from the middle of the field out to the sidelines there.

And you you break one tackle, you're gonna have a big play. So a big third down here. Third and three at the NC 34 yard line. Two wide receivers to either side out of the pistol formation. Steinwand will throw, has time, guns it over the middle, Has a catch down at the 25 yard line.

Maybe falling forward to the 24 is the verge, Bodie, the verge on the catch there. And that is a gain. Up 10 and a Damon Orthodontics first down. Nice catch by Bode. He was the guy that made the block out there on the one on one side the play before and was rewarded with a drag route across the middle.

Good coverage by nc. They had a corner right in his pocket that went up high, caught the ball and got the first down. Again the one by three. Set with the ball near the left hash mark. One man goes to the left, three to the right.

They fake the handoff. Quarterback keeps it himself off to the left side, inside the 20, down to the 15. Steinwand is finally knocked off his feet as he gets down to about the 13. Maybe the 12 yard line. Brought it down by Ethan Davis in North Central.

But another first down put him at the 12, gain of 11. Yeah, that was a nice job. Great fake by the quarterback. He got the defensive end to bite on it. Running back ran up the middle.

They tackled him, he didn't have the ball. Quarterback just kept it to the outside, ran right around there. I've been impressed on this drive. Wide receivers have done a nice job blocking on the perimeter. Five and a half minutes to play.

First quarter, scoreless game. Out of the pistol formation. Clarkston first and 10 at the NC12. Stein one will throw. Looking to the left side, Throwing to the left side.

And that is caught for a touchdown. He got it to his favorite receiver, Ryken Craver. His first target of the game. But Steinwan to Craver. They hook up on a 12 yard passing touchdown.

And the lead is six nothing in favor of Clarkston. That was just man for man coverage over there. Very nice throw by Steinwad because he threw it high to the outside corner. Was in actually pretty good position. He just got beat by a better pass and a better catch.

And so the point after will come here. And they are short somebody or short a tee. Yeah, I think they're short the tee. And so Offred will kick. Ready to hold it.

Here is theiverge to try to make this a seven nothing game. 5:14 remains here in the first quarter. Here's the snap back. It is high. The ball spotted nearly blocked but it is end over end and good.

A 12 yard passing touchdown. Seven nothing in favor of the Bantams. Now North Central, they got a good drive their first time around, but ended up stalling out on downs once they got inside the 35 yard line of Clarkston. They're ready to receive this kickoff. Here's Alford with the run forward, the boot downfield high short end over end and this will be grabbed and dropped back at the 13 yard line.

Running to the right side of Josiah Dean. Gets to the outside, across the 20, breaks a tackle, gets hit again at about the 24 and run backward from there. So we'll see exactly where they give it to Clarkston. But a good return that time by Josiah Dunn and they'll put it at the 24 yard line. We'd like to thank 700 ESPN 105.

All right, out of the pistol, they've got a fullback offset to the left, the quarterback. Jones takes the snap, hands it off to Workman off the left side, stops, cut back, gets over the 25, running laterally now and has stopped at the 26. He just couldn't quite. They'll give him forward, progress to the 27, gain of 3. Just couldn't quite get up field enough to burst that one through for a nice game.

He was serpentining up a storm. You're exactly right. He was just an inch or two away from making a big play. Made three or four guys miss, found a hole, cut back, slid back to the outside. Just couldn't get that extra burst.

I like this kid. He runs hard, he finds the hole. He's tough to bring down with one tackler. He's an impressive looking young man. So second down and seven now for the Wolfpack at their own 27.

From the left, hash trips right, one man wide left out of the pistol again. Jones takes the snap and he gets by him. He'll go back to grab it back at the 17 yard line. Now run up field, trying to break a tackle. Can't do it.

He has stopped for a big loss. Back at about the 18 yard line. They may put him at the 17. We'll see. It will be the 17 yard line.

That is a tough play and a loss of 10 yards. That was just a snap. That was a little bit to the outside but he didn't look the ball and I don't think think he's expecting the snap. He was, he wasn't expecting it there. Just didn't.

Couldn't corral it. By the time he got back to it, that big front kind of blew through there and really had no place to go. That could have been a, you know, a dangerous play with a turnover. But fortunately the QB was able to get back on it, get a couple yards. The officials spot at the 18 yard line.

So a loss of nine. They'll set up third and 16 now for the Wolf Pack. Two receivers split to either side. Out of the pistol. Jones takes the snap, rolls back inside the 10 running to his right side, stops, eludes one defender.

Now starts up field, gets hit, ball loose, picked up by North Central and they will throw that man down at about the 12 yard line, maybe the 13 as woods is the guy that recovered his own fumble and then he got smashed to the ground at the 13 yard line for a loss of about five more yards. Yeah, that's just a great rush by that Clarkson front. And as you mentioned they're big, they're quick, they're physical and and North Central is having a tough time right now blocking them really. Quarterback had no chance whatsoever in that play. So three and out here and we'll have a punt as North Central brings on their punter here.

Here's the snap back about face, mask high and the boot away. Wobbly kick. It'll be grabbed on the run at about the 40 yard line and taking it down inside the 35. Close to the 30 is Reichen on the punt by Biru Tang. And Kraber returns it all the way down to the 30.

About a 10 yard return on what was a 28 yard punt. And it'll be first down and 10. Kreber give him credit. That ball could have hit the ground and done a lot of damage but he was able to hustle up there and catch that ball and then still get 10 yards. So great job by him to field a short punt like that.

I think that's one of the hardest things to do coming up knowing you're going to get hit. Still pull that football in. Clarkston leads seven nothing, 235 to play. First quarter. Two receivers to either side.

Motion coming from the right side. They hand it off to that man. Fly sweep to the left side and not much there. Good job by North Central defensively on that play. As the defensive end over on that side, Rylan Kyle helped to take down the ball carrier.

Hayden Lyon, after a short gain, couple of yards. Look like Josh Hoffman, the tight end who was out there blocking, limped off the field. He's a darn good player. He also plays linebacker as well. Six three, 222 pounds.

He is now on the sidelines. And with that, Trace Green has checked in at tight end for Clarkston. They've got two tight ends in the game. Two wide receivers both split out to the right side here. Out of the pistol, they will hand it off.

Desarno gets hit right at about the 25, struggling forward to the 24. Somebody had him by the ankles and wouldn't let him go. And that was Ezra Camacho. So a gain of three, that four. Actually that time it'll be third down and four.

Fortunately for Clarkson, Hayden Lyon, who's the wide receiver out there, was kind of standing the hole. He turned back and running back, ran right into his own guy and that kind of slowed him down. And then NC was able to overwhelm him with a couple of tacklers. So third and four now Clarkston at the NC24. They will hand it off.

Running to the left side, getting hit. Struggling forward, trying to get first down yardage. It's Milo Kunap and kanap rather. He takes it to the 20 yard line for a gain of four and a first down. Yeah, that was a nice run that time.

A little zone read to the left side between the center and the guard. And nice blocking that time. Created a little bit of a hole in that. But good running by the running back. He was able to stay on his feet.

He twisted, he fell on one of the NC defenders and that was enough with his body length to pick up the first down. So great extra effort that time by that young man. So Clarkston now at the 20 yard line. First down and 10 out of the pistol. Running back behind the quarterback, Stein one who takes the snap, hands it off, weaving through there.

It's Knapp again inside the 10, down to the 5 and he will be spilled short of the goal line at about the four yard line as Nick Elliott was back there on the tackle along with Rylan Kyle. But not until 16 yards for Kanap and a first down. Boy, he hit that hole quickly. He's 175 pounds, does a nice job. Junior also returns kickoffs and he was just one tackle away.

Safety had to come over once again. I think that was Elliot, number 25. He's been busy tonight. That was his fourth tackle on the night here in the first quarter. Knew a player in for NC along the defensive front here on first and goal from the four yard line pistol formation with Knapp behind the quarterback Stein.

One receiver split to either side and they will hand it off, hit in the backfield and drop for a loss. That's what they did this time. They came up the middle with the blitz. They had a couple of different guys in there on the stop as Tommy Elliott was there along with Seth Bromley for NC A loss of three. Larry Weir defensive coordinator, that's exactly what he talked about in the pregame and that made a difference.

Double a gap blitz, both linebackers right through the center hole and that made the play into the first quarter. So it'll be third and goal. I think he had a route that was probably not supposed to be either that deep or that shallow. One of those two guys ran the wrong route because you don't want to have your tight end and your wide receiver within 3 yards of each other.

So I think that was just a he kind of threw it in the middle kind of deal. Craber is wide to the right and Theaver just slotted inside him. Two men out to the left side now. Third and goal at the seven yard line. Out of the Pistol Stein one.

The quarterback takes the snap and flags come down. I think this is our first flag of the game and I'm guessing this is going to be a false start. No offside on North Central. That is a critical penalty. Yeah.

Desarno is the running back on now third and goal from the three yard line here. So third goal, third and goal from the three as Hoffman comes in motion and sets up behind the right guard. And they will hand it off to Sarno. Hitting the backfield and he's going to be stuffed. Great defense by North Central there as they really rallied to the football.

Did not allow them to get that ball to the line of scrimmage. Tommy Elliott was there for North Central and I believe the other guy was Keegan Schnell. Both, both backers did a nice job, Larry, of getting up field and kind of creating some havoc. But that defensive line occupied the offensive line, allowing the backers to penetrate and make that play. And they're going to go for it in fourth down.

I think you're going to see a pass. Would not be surprising if they went to crabber number 17. So fourth and goal from the NC6. Craber is split to the right side. Two men wide to the left here.

Back to throat is the quarterback Stein. One on a slant and it's in and out of the hands. Incomplete of his intended receiver Noriega. And North Central gets a huge four down stop here. And they take over the football with 10:59 remaining to play in the first half with Clarkston still on top by the score of 7 to nothing.

NC's gonna start deep in their own end. But that is a very good defensive stop for the Wolfpack. That's giving you some momentum and some something going. Offense had a great little drive to start the game. Defense gets a great stop here.

They're still within one score of this thing. You got 10:59 to go here in the second quarter. Now it's time for the offense to see if they can put together a drive length of the field that would, that would be impressive to see. All right, Trevel Jones, the quarterback, he's got Nick Elliott as a fullback aligned to his left. And then Workman, the tailback behind him on first down and 10, ball in the center of the field from the six yard line.

Snap comes back, they hand it off. Workman off left guard driving his way out across the 10. He's gonna get close to the 15 yard line. It looks like they'll put him at the 14. That's a very good first down gain of 8 yards.

Yeah, that was impressive. That was a nice job. Good offensive line surge by the center and two guards as they were able to kind of get those big guys on their heels and just wall them back. And then Workman just followed right behind him and just kind of used them like a horse. Giddy up horse, as Larry would say on a big play.

And he used his offensive line to clear the way and get a really nice gain there on first down. So Trevel Jones, the quarterback Here will lead his team to the line on second and two. Formation changes slightly as now Elliott is set to the right of the quarterback and the running back Workman behind on second and two. There's the snap back. They hand it off off right guard this time cutting to his left.

Workman now trying to bounce it outside. He's got first down yardage, but he could have kept going straight up the hash. But he tried to get outside of the sidelines, didn't gain any yards after that, but he bounced it for five and a first down. Best backs are north and south runners. As soon as you cut to the sideline, that takes all your leverage away, allowing the defensive back to come in there and make a play.

And you're right, Larry, if he plants that foot, heads right up the seam there and he's got a chance to break that tackle, that might, he might still be running on that play. He's going to watch film and learn from that. Workman plays all the time for this team and he's coming out for a rest here as he's had seven early carries. Tommy Elliot, the former quarterback is now in as the running back here. Jones the quarterback first and 10 ball up at their own 19 yard line here.

There's the snap back. They'll run option, pitch it to Elliott, hit in the backfield. Struggling forward. He's going to get hit for a couple of yard loss here as he had really no chance there. Well, defense that time by the Bantams.

Yeah, Jones that time didn't do a good job on the read. He pitched it and all he had to do was fake the pitch and cut up field because the defensive end had slid outside. So what you read, you read the belly button. If you see the belly button, you pitch it. If you see the shoulder pads, you keep it.

And that was a shoulder pad read. You got to keep that thing. He's. He would have a chance to picked up some positive yards. Loss of a yard in the play.

Second down and 11 now for the Wolfpack. They have one wide receiver. He has split out to the left side. Everybody else is in tight. Elliott still in there.

Is the running Tommy Elliott still in there as the running back. Jones out of the pistol formation, hands it to Elliott off the right side this time. Dives out across the 20, gets to the 21. So he's going to gain yards on that play and will bring up third down and eight now. Still a good thing about this drive for north central area.

Gets them out of there inside their 20 yard line. So this has really been a good drive because he started on about the three or four yard line. It's getting some separations, burning some clock here. They're still within one touchdown in this game. Clarkson's a very explosive offensive team.

So for them to hold them down so far that that's good. Now the offense just needs to get a little bit of rhythm. 825, we're left to go here in the first half. Seven nothing. Clarkston, third and eight, North Central at their own 21.

From the right hash. One receiver to either side out of the pistol formation. Jones takes the snap, fades back, no fake pressure on, steps away, runs to the left side, gets runs into his own lineman and ends up getting stopped for a loss. Back at about the 17 yard line for a loss of 4 yards on the play. And they'll have to punt.

Yeah, that was too bad. He had some guys open. He just, he dropped his head because he felt the pressure. And again he's a sophomore. You know, you're replacing the starter.

That's had a lot of snapshots that quarterback. And practice time when you're a quarterback is one thing. Game time, everything speeds up. You have to keep your reads and you have to do it quickly. Ronan Lizey, one of the guys that got the sack there, back to the 18 yard line.

So fourth down and 11 here. They'll punt it away. Low snap, here's the boot away line drive downfield. It's going to hit short of midfield and roll back close to midfield. It'll be down at the 49 of NC so that is a 20, 31 yard punt with no return.

Don't let him sit back there. He had all day. He's patting the ball three, four, five times and then he just went left. They rushed four, they dropped everybody else and everybody had their back turned. As soon as that happens, quarterback sees it.

He got some very positive yards and that a very good read by the quarterback from Clarkson. Steinwad. Kraber split to the left side and Noriega wide to the right, slotted inside. Noriega is the verge to the right side and they've got line as the slot receiver to the left out of the pistol. First down and 10 and wanting to throw it, looking to the left, getting pressured out of the pocket to the left as the quarterback throws downfield.

Great catch. Line at the 10, turns to his right and trots down the sidelines in for a touchdown. The North Central defender went for an interception or to knock the ball away. He didn't get it. Line was able to tiptoe down the sidelines.

That is a touchdown for the Clarkston Bantams and they take a 13 to nothing lead. Boy, that was a beautiful throw and even better catch, Larry. And that's the thing you do as a defensive back. If you gamble and try to go for the ball and miss, you're in big time trouble. So you've got to play that.

If you can time it right and hit him about the same time the ball gets there or if you can get your hands on the ball then you can make that cut underneath. So that was just a really good throw and a great catch and a gamble by NC that led to Clarkson scoring. And ready for the pat now is Alfred as the ball is snapped back. And here's the kick. It is up and it is good.

And those are the kinds of penalties that really hurt. You get a decent return, then you get a grab on the outside. It was away from the play. It wasn't even close to the, to the action there. And those are the kinds of things that keep coaches up at night watching film trying to figure out what to do to improve.

All right, so the sophomore quarterback Trevel Jones in there, he's got Workman back in as the running back and Nick Elliott is aligned to the left of the quarterback. Here on first down at their own 18 for the wolf pack, four men down in the line, they'll hand it off. Workman off left tackle, burrows across the 20 and will get out to about the 21 is where they will give him. So a short gain of about 3 yards there workman is, he's the guy, he's going to be the bell cow. He's going to carry the, you know, the football an awful lot, you know, and he got to get him kind of on track.

So if he can get three or four yards, you know, on each carry, he's going to break one sooner or later. He's one of those guys that get better as the game goes on. Sage Lone Bear goes out of the game. The two way starter on the line for Clarkston, six' four, 280 pounds senior. So they'll miss his beef inside although they replace him with a guy that's just about as big.

Second down and seven now for the Wolfpack ball in the center of the field at their own 21 and they fake the handoff. Rolling to the right side now is Jones. Evades one man now runs back to the left side looking downfield, nobody open. He keeps it 25 out over the 30, gets spins out over the 35 yard line and takes his way to the 38. You can see Paul this young man is a fantastic athlete.

Travell Jones, 6 1, 155 lb runs for 17 and a Damon Orthodontics first down. He's explosive and what he does well as he gets out of trouble he buys time with his feet and that allows receivers to get open because defensive backs and linebackers can't cover somebody for five, six, seven, eight seconds. So that's really a strength. Sometimes though, Larry running quarterbacks will tend to run quicker than they should instead of staying in the pocket. He's going to get better at throwing.

The older he gets, the more experience. Three wide receivers split to the left side, one man wide to the right and NC will take a timeout. I believe we will take a timeout here as well as I think the TV will be taking that. Yep, I see moose getting up over across the way so they're going to take a television timeout here as well so we will pause for a one minute break. We have 5:42 left here in the first half.

We saw the athleticism Paul at Traveller just a moment or two ago. This is first start I believe at quarterback. Well I gives you a little. He gives you a spark because when plays break down he can get first downs and big plays with his feet and that creates some openings for his wide receivers. So if he can keep that head up and look down field still, you know, kind of navigating through that traffic, I think he's going to be a weapon.

He's only a sophomore. He's only going to get better. Josiah Dunn, Nick Elliot are split to the right side. Two men to the left, motion from the left through to the right. And on first down woods will throw or Jones rather will throw.

Throws it out. Caught at the 40 and then another. Now we'll get the horse collar there as grabbed in the back of the shirt was Matthew Campbell and thrown down. So Trevel Jones a 10 yard passing gain to Campbell and they will add 15 onto that for a horse collar. Grabbed him by the back of the jersey and that's where you can get hurt because that knee or ankle, you know, you get thrown down pretty violently.

The kids just trying to grab and make a play, but they really try to protect the, you know, the receivers and the backs on that particular play. That is a good call. Great job. This is a veteran crew. I see Tim Peterson across the headlinesman.

I can tell by the way wattles. And you know, I'm not sure who the other other crew is, but this is kind of the veteran crew for the Spokane football officials. So it's nice to see them out here and think Mike Raynor is the, the White Hat as well. So the ball down to the 37 now at Clarkston. Second time that NC has been in Clarkson territory.

And this ball game, pistol formation, four wide, two to either side, motion from Nick Elliott through to the left. And Jones, the quarterback wants to pass with pressure coming. Two men right in on him and he's going to be sacked for a big loss. He had no chance. Ian Moore came in from one side and I believe it was Sage Lone Bear on the other side and they kind of had him sandwiched there and Jones could not get away.

And a big loss of 10. Well, that's, that's, I think the third sack of the night, if I remember correctly. And you know, just a great job. Those two guys will share a sack, but man, they're big. Lone Bear, 280 pounds.

Moore's 245, but he's 67 and that's a presence. When you're trying to look down field, you get a guy with big paws like that and getting in the way there, that's. You got to kind of throw around him. You're not going to be able to throw over the top of them. So just a tough break for NC great pressure by Clarkson.

So now second and 20 for the Wolfpack back at the Clarkston 47 yard line. They've scrimmaged from the right hash again and back to throw it and they want to set up a little screen. It looks like it's pretty well blocked, but nope, the breaking in there is Hoffman the linebacker to throw down the receiver. After a short gain, it's Workman down to the 43 yard line, a gain of four. It'll bring up third down and long.

Nice read that time by Hoffman. He came off his guy. He saw both. All the linemen see, linemen can get downfield on that particular play as long as they throw the ball behind the line of scrimmage, which they did. Good job, good screen setup, good fundamental play by NC but sniffed out by Hoffman and he came over and pounced on him and threw him down.

They kind of came in behind the linemen. It looked like the linemen were down there ready to block for him, but Hoffman was able to get in behind them. And so now third and 16 ball on the right hash at the bantam 43. Motion coming through by Campbell to the left side. Jones out of the pistol, takes the snap, fades back, pressure coming.

Fires a deep ball down the middle of field for Nick Elliott. Leaping try. Got it. Great catch. Nick Elliott comes down with it.

Down at the 13 yard line. That is a gain of 30 yards and a first down. Through the air, a Damon Orthodontics first down, their biggest play of the game. And that was a 50, 50 ball. And he had the safety and the corner on him.

He still went up and got it. So that's a 100% completion there. Great effort by Elliott to go up and make that play. 4 wide, 2 to either side. First down and 10.

Jones wants to throw short, has a catch inside the 10, going to about the eight, maybe the nine yard line. Is Elliott again, gain a five. He's got four tackles on defense. He's got a couple of catches now. He's kind of a weapon here.

You've got Workman, you've got Elliott, you've got Jones the quarterback. They're starting to find some rhythm on offense. Tommy Elliott is the running back now. Second and five out of the pistol. They swing it out to elliott at the 10.

Lowers his shoulder, trying to break a tackle. He broke the tackle from line, but he was right on the sidelines. And they're going to say he lost a yard. Back to the nine. I like Jones.

He made up his mind quickly. That ball came out and he gave Elliot a chance over there. Just good coverage by Clarkson. Tight side of the field. You don't have to defend a lot of territory there, but he made the right decision on that.

This young man. This game's going to start slowing down for him. He's getting better and better as this game goes on. So third and six now for NC ball on the right hash at the Clarkston nine. 14 nothing.

Clarkston 237 remaining. First half. Jones out of the pistol. Clarkston showing blitz. Here they come.

Jones fades back, throws to the left side. And getting tackled out there is the receiver. And they're going to throw the flag. The ball was Nowhere near the receiver. But the defensive back, Emmett Slag just tackled the receiver.

And regardless of whether the ball's catchable or not, you can't tackle the receiver before the ball gets to him. Yeah, there's no, there's no uncatchable ball in high school. But that, that, that was a really good call by the head linesman on that side, Mr. Peterson. And that's right now you're going to get first down.

I think maybe they do the half the distance on this thing, but that should be a first down. It'll be very close to it, which is weird because in college pass interference is an automatic first down. In high school it's not. They will gain inside the five. It looks like short of the four.

It's going to be a yard and a half short of a first down. Oh, it will be a first down. So they do give them first down and goal to go. Gotta brush up on my rules. Well, now wait a minute.

The Clarkston bench is not happy. That's what I thought. Yeah, no, I do remember that rule because I got yelled at it. I blew it the first time and I made sure I didn't do it again. So it should be third down about a yard.

Third down and just over a yard for a first down here with the ball inside the five yard line, 228 to go here in the second quarter. This is a great opportunity for NC Heck of a job by them on this drive. And so third down and short. They run out of the pistol formation. Workman back in as the running back.

Jones the quarterback out of the pistol, hands it to Workman off the left side. Not gonna get there. He has stacked up this big. Clarkston front left. No room for Workman stopped at the 4.

It'll be fourth in a yard. They kind of telegraphed where they're gonna go. They had a tight end over there, fullback was leaning that way. I would run that exact same formation. They're actually going to kick the ball and go to the opposite side because Clarkston stacked everybody over on that side to stop him.

That's too bad. Bi Ru Tang is on to kick this field goal. It should be a lot like an extra point here. About a 21 yarder and he is inside the right hash. Mark Taylor the holder.

Tang a senior, ready to kick. There's a high snap, ball spotted, boot end over end and it is missed to the right and a flag is down. I think they roughed the kicker. I think they did. And I think they hurt the kicker.

Tang on all fours now gets up, bends over, kind of grabbing his right leg. And it looks like this is going to be a roughing the kicker penalty which would be half the distance to the goal and that would give him a first down. Let's see as the officials huddle. Well, the good news is not limping as much as he got to the sideline. So nice job by him this fall.

That's an odd call. So wow. I mean because that would have given them a first down. Now they're gonna get Clarkson and move the half the distance. Yep.

Dead ball, personal foul. And that's weird. That is very odd. And it'll be Clarkston ball and they'll take over at their 10 yard line. I've not seen that.

I haven't either. Unique. I have not seen that call before because you basically rewarding Clarkston. They're getting the ball back instead of giving North Central first down a goal then you know on that play. So after the ball the whistle had already been blown and then the court the guy got roughed.

I. Yeah, that's what I guess what they're ruling. So a minute 39 remaining to play here in the first half. So that is the first that I've seen where a roughing the kicker penalty is the runoff after the the play ends. So a dead ball foul.

Two receivers to either side. Clarkston has all their timeouts here on first down. Ball from the middle of the field. They throw it out quickly. Thief herds got it.

Got a block up the left sidelines. Is pushed out of bounds by Tommy Elliott as he gets up to the 18 yard line. Clock stopped with him going out of bounds. Gain of eight. Nice job that time by by McCallum.

I'm sorry, that's by, you know, by fever. That's his second catch. He's done a nice job and kind of working the outside there. Good block. I like what Clarkson's doing, Larry.

They block really well in the perimeters. Their wide receivers are physical. They're engaging these corners and safeties and creating space for these receivers once they get the ball. And Clarkson has used a timeout already so they don't have three. They have two timeouts remaining.

Clock stop there after the out of bounds play. 132 left in the half. Second and two after that eight yard pickup motion. Out of the backfield to the right side. Back to throw is the quarterback Stein1 breaks a tackle, runs a little quarterback draw over the 25 to the 30 and out of bounds, working the left side, pushed out of bounds.

I think Nick Elliott is the guy that pushed him out. Up at the 32, that's a gain of 14 and a Damon Orthodontics first down. Nice job by Sage Lone Bear, the center. He was the guy that basically sprung the quarterback on that. He came out that was a quarterback draw all the way.

And then he engaged on the middle linebacker, was able to seal him. And an excellent job by the wide receiver on the outside as well. I think that was line who, who's caught a touchdown pass and he buried the corner. So first down and 10. Clarkston at their own 32 from the left hash mark again.

It's a screen set up to their great receiver. And getting stopped as he crosses the 30 yard line by Tommy Elliott is Riken Kraber after a gain of 4 yards. Nice job by Tommy to read that. He came over from his linebacker position, saw the screen and did the same thing. He slid underneath the blockers and was able to get over there and tackle him before he got going full speed or that would have been pretty.

A pretty big play because that was pretty well blocked downfield. So a four yard pickup on the play. Clarkston uses a timeout. They will have one remaining and they have it second and 11 now at their own 31 with a 14 nothing lead. 114 left in the head.

Here's a throw over the middle. Good coverage and the pass incomplete. Hoffman, the tight end, they're gonna throw a flag here. I don't know that I agree with that. Pretty good coverage by Tommy Elliott there, But they're gonna say he made contact with Hoffman before the ball got there.

He probably climbed up his back a little bit, but that's a little picky. I don't like that as a defensive back. I'm gonna, I'm gonna go after and say, hey, great coverage on that. Unfortunately, the guy on the sidelines through the hanky and that's gonna be a penalty, unfortunately. There was nobody near him. Craber caught it on the sidelines. Broken coverage there and he was able to waltz down the sidelines for the easy run. 17 yard pitch and catch. And the third touchdown of the ball game.

Through the air for Clarkston here in the first half. Second connection between Steinwand and Craber. Actually great discipline that time by Craber because he just stood there. He basically ran a five yard route, turned around, everybody bailed, all the coverage, dropped off deep on the field. And then he got in trouble.

His quarterback bailed him out, him right in the chest. Showed great speed and sprinted right down the sidelines. So the point after try now for Alfred. There's the snap back the kick. There was good penetration there by NC but he's able to get the ball up and through.

And now tonight it's Clarkston 21 North Central nothing in the first ever football game here in this stadium. Fantastic job. Well done. Kudos. Spokane Public Schools and the Spokane Public Facilities District and making this thing a.

Making this thing happening well and I think it was cool too. They honored kind of three iconic broadcasters and Bud Namick, Rick Luken and Dennis Patchen who's doing the SWX game along with Mike Peterson over there. And you know, and that's a class way to do it. Guys that have been involved with high school sports dating back to the early mid-80s and just the transition from Albie and this was controversial in terms of the vote and some of the things people didn't want Alby to get torn down.

I was one of those guys. I'm a traditionalist. I like the old stadium. I wanted to redo it, but now that I see this, this is really where the stadium should be. This is representing the five schools, Ferris, L.

C. rogers, North Central and shadow and this, it's in their backyard and this is a perfect place, Larry, to have it tied in with the podium, tied in with the Spokane arena and River Park Square. You couldn't ask for anything better. Let's let you hear just for a moment or two, the North Central band down on the field performing for the crowd. A little flavor of what's happening here is the North Central band performing for the crowd here this evening.

Let's take a look at the first half recap. North Central had a nice little drive in their first drive, but they ended up not getting any points out of it. Clarkston gets the ball. They moved down the field. Seven plays, 64 yards.

Took 324 off the clock. Steinwand to Kraber for a passing touchdown. 12 yards. It was seven to nothing. Teams exchanged possessions.

Clarkson gets the ball back in NC territory at the 49. Just two plays later, a 34 yard pass and run from Steinwan to line. Pat good to play. 49 yard drive, 24 seconds. Elapsed 14 to nothing.

Then NC gets down to the three yard line. They end up trying to come kick a field goal and it was missed. And then Clarkston took the ball over at the 10 yard line. After that there was a penalty, a dead ball penalty that put it from the from the 20 back to the 10. But it didn't matter as the Bantams marched 90 yards and eight plays.

Took a minute 27 off the clock. And again Steinward to Steinwand rather to a craver 17 yard pass and run. This time 21. Nothing in favor of the Bantams at the intermission. We'll be back with more after this timeout here on the Ragsl.

Rodgers 40 for the first time in since 1968 ranked second in the nation or second in the state, I should say in two way football in the RPI and eighth in the media poll. They take on Schadl tomorrow evening and Pullman will play the non conference game at okanagan on the 3A 4A side. This is presented by Brothers Flooring. Mont Spokane playing the non conference game at Post Falls. Ferris plays at U High LC visit Cheney and the two big games. Prep 30 at 3 and 1, Ridgeline and CV 2 and 1 against a Mead team that's 1 and 2 and they can't afford any more losses. They can't. They got beat by Ridgeline.

They, you know, and it's, they're fighting for their life right now. So GSL is pretty darn balanced but kind of the surprise team for me. Larry Rogers High School in terms of what they're doing, how well they're playing along with Shadl. That's going to be one heck of a battle. And that could along with West Valley.

Those three right now kind of control their makeup, you know, moving forward into the postseason. And you can follow all the GSL coverage on the radio here tomorrow night. CV at Mead. Greg Talbot, Adam Shackelford will have the call there. That'll be a 7 o' clock kickoff, 6:30 pregame.

Steinwand, the quarterback, has the most rushing yards For Clarkston with 40 yards so far in this ball game. Steinwand, earlier this season against East Valley had a 400 plus yard total offense game. He threw for 360 and ran for 44. So he has had some big numbers on the season so far. So that is Clarkston's highlights statistically for NC.

I have them at 103 or no, actually I don't have them for anything. Noah's got him for everything. We've got Noah Buckman on the stats. We've got Steve Pry as the producer and engineer keeping Paul and me straight here this evening. Woods, their quarterback.

Noah has him at 103 yards. Woods, their quarterback, he is six out of nine for 58 yards in the first half of play. Nick Elliott, the guy with two catches, everybody else has one. Elliott, two catches for 35 yards. Workman, who plays both ways, gets some rest offensively.

Nine carries for 31 yards. Woods has been sacked three times and he had a bad snap that he ended up getting credit for. So a lot of lost yardage there. But if you take away the lost yardage, you can see how athletic this young man is in his three actual carries of the football in this football game. He has 27 yards.

Yeah, I like what he's doing. And to be honest, for him coming in as a sophomore, having really his first start here, I think he energizes his football team, you know, and I really like the fact that he has two more years left to play. He is a very good young man, very athletic. The game is going to slow down for him. But if he can continue to keep this Clarkson defense on their heels with his ability to run and then some spot passes, I think this is going to bode well for him down the road.

Yeah, he is a very good athlete. Nick Elliott, also a very good athlete. Just a sophomore starter last year both ways as a freshman. Woods or Jones is a sophomore. So, you know, they're building.

They've got a young team here. They've got some, you know, they've got some talent here in the younger classes. They start three sophomores on offense and they start four sophomores on defense. They only have 10 seniors on this entire team. So it's a very young team.

Honestly. Head coach Aaron woods trying to get this thing turned around here in North Central. They've got again, a lot of young talent, three starters that are seniors on offense and three starters that are seniors on defense. So if he can keep everybody together and keep everybody going here, they've got a chance in a year or two of being a very good football team, maybe a team like a Rodgers this year that makes a big move up, big jump when these young men get to be seniors.

So we will see what happens there. Both teams have made their way back out onto the football field. Clarkston will get the ball when we start the second half of play. Welcome back. As we get ready for the start of the second half of play here and again our schedule tomorrow night, CB at Mead, 6:30 for the pregame, 7:00 clock for the kick. And then next Thursday night, a week from tonight, we'll be back here at One Spokane Stadium. And it'll be the East Valley Knights their first opportunity to play here as they will play these same North Central wolf packs. We'll see North Central back to back weeks.

But later this year we will be here for Rogers and West Valley. That could be a titanic game in two way near the end of the season. We'll have SHADL against East Valley here later this season as well. So we've got some big games from this stadium still to come this season and I think we've been able to get almost everybody on, which is hard. We will have every Spokane County GSL school with radio coverage this season before we're done.

And I think that's a first. I don't think we've ever done that. We didn't do it last year. And we can do it because you have this stadium here. But also you can do it because John Barrington, the athletic director at Meade, is the guy in charge of the scheduling for the GSL and he puts people on.

Everybody has to play one Thursday night game and John does a fantastic job of making sure that things cycle through and we can get everybody on as much as we can here. Sometimes we may miss a school just because it's impossible to get everybody in sometimes depending on the schedule. But this year it all worked out. Everybody will get a radio game. Nobody will get more than two.

We have to make sure that we buy him a sandwich and some beverages because he's talking about retirement. Well, we can't have that. I know, that's what I told him. So you tell me how many sandwiches and how many beverages and we're gonna do it. If sandwiches and beverages, we'll do it all.

But I think sanity probably has something more to do with it. He wants to do a little vacation time and spend some time with the kids and his wife. And he's worked his butt off for an awfully long time. He's one of the. One of our more tenured athletic directors and really a good guy.

That's where I'm gonna miss not being at Meade tomorrow because I was have full court pressed him up there if he's listening now. You got some luck, Barrington, because you didn't have to listen to me for 30 minutes on why you shouldn't be leaving. I know where he lives. We're gonna go over and have a little Sunday chat with him. Maybe we'll bring him some Starbucks.

Oh, that's scary. Just knock on his door and he'll come out in his fluffy little slippers and his little robe. You don't have to move now. Yeah, no. So we'll teepee the house first, and then we'll come in and introduce ourselves.

And after the wife neck punches me because she's grumpy, you have to clean all the toilet paper off the roof. Then we'll have a nice discussion. So we are delayed here at the start of the half because of the television. So why does TV always do this stuff? Toilet paper them?

Yeah. No kidding. Yeah, but the funny part is they're sitting over at a goofy little tent across from us next to the porta potties, and we have the press box. This never happens. Television never gets punted.

We always do. So for us, this is a W. And we're going to celebrate. We're happy about it. We are.

So, beautiful night. You know, I'm proud of these teams. Clarkson traveling, you know, two hours up the road to come up here. And they put it on a nice show in the first half, up 21 to nothing. And we'll start half number two in our very first game here in the new one, Spokane Stadium.

So North Central will kick off. They'll defend the north end zone here, the end zone toward Boone Avenue. And Clarkston will move from the south the end toward the podium, toward the north end. So you have KXLY on the north side, you've got the podium on the south side, and you've got Washington on the east side. And I don't know if that street is across.

Well, Howard is behind us. Oh, Howard. Okay, thank you. So, Howard, Monroe, all that is behind us to the west. So North Carolina in their charcoal gray jerseys with the red numerals, the black helmets and the white pants, ready to kick it off as they've got the ball up on the tee.

Our second half kickoff, presented by Papa Murphy's. Change the way you pizza. There's the kick, a short little pooch kick. This will be grabbed by one of the up men at the 23 yard line, running to the right side laterally at the 30, gets upfield across the 35, breaks a tackle. This is Stephen Alfred, one of the starting receivers.

He takes it over to cross the 40. And it looks like Clarkston will have it around the 41 or 42 yard line here. First down. Boy, that was a nice return that time. Well done by him.

They have not spotted the ball for play. Now they'll put it at the 41 yard line. And so that's where Clarkston will take it at their own 41. Now they move it up to the 42 from the right hash mark. So they've got craver out wide to the right side.

One man slotted inside him, that's Alfred. And two men are split to the left side. To the right side here. They'll bring Alfred in motion and they'll hand it to him on the fly. Sweeper on the right side cuts up field, breaks the tackle, gets hit short of the 45 and will be spun down.

Give him to the 44 yard line for a gain of 3 yards on the play. Nice job by the inside backup for north central that time as he kind of slid over there, engaged a blocker, got rid of him, forced the running back back inside. He didn't get the initial tackle, but he got an assist on it. But he clogged up enough of the guys over there to allow his mates to come over and make the play. So second down and seven.

Craber will be wide to the right. Wide to the left, I should say, with Alford inside of him. And they have one man split to the right here out of the shotgun formation. They'll toss it to the left side as they run to the left. And getting out across the 50 or 45 yard line and getting to the 50 is Kunap as he will take it for a gain of nine or for.

Well, check that. The gain of about seven yards on the play. And that'll be just short of the first down. Seth Bromley there to bring him down. Nice job by Seth as a guy.

That's a senior 225 pounds. And he hustled over there from his defensive end position to make that play. Another nice job by 25. Nick Elliott, he didn't get credit for the tackle, but he came up, forced everything back inside, allowing Bromley then to clean up the play. Actually five yards for kanap on the play.

And it'll be third and two now for the bantams right at midfield on the left hash. Two receivers go left one Right out of the pistol. They'll throw it quickly and behind. That was not a good throw that time by Steinwand. Well behind his intended receiver.

Craber who just was standing where he was, where he was lined up at midfield and the pass was 3 yards short of it. That was a mechanics issue, Larry. He just tried to flip that ball out there. Instead of taking his feet, setting him going and stepping to where that receiver was, he just tried to short arm that thing, hence the skip. So Craber looked like a shortstop trying to feel that off the bounce.

So fourth and two here for Clarkston and they're going for it. 10:26 remaining third quarter. Clarkston with a 21 nothing leads fourth and two at midfield. From the left hash. Two receivers go to the right side, one man wide to the left and that man comes in motion now and they will hand it off to the running back.

Big opening now, across the 45 to the 40, down to the 38 yard line. It's Disarno, a little quick hitter there and he busts through for 12 yards and a first down. Boy, that was just a nice play. Well done. Ethan Davis, number 11 had to come up and finally knock him down.

Got some help also from another player to come over there. But that was just a quick hitter going between the left guard and tackle. It just hit that hole perfectly. Very well blocked up front and they kind of caught NC doing a little stem action where they looped the tackle a little bit but he left the spot where the running back basically hit. Nick Elliott is the guy that came up and helped out on that tackle and he's in a lot of pain in the secondary here on first down, first and 10 at the 38 of NC motion coming and they will hand it off to that motion man hit in the backfield and drop for a loss.

Great job by this N defense. The guy that got in there and submarine the whole thing is Dominic Vaughn, 180 pound sophomore and they stuffed the play for a loss of two. Bromley was also in there as well and he's been all over the field. I like the way that kids playing. He's a two way player as well.

So nice job, good team effort. Nice to see the defensive front kind of being very active up there and they're creating some problems with that big offensive line from Clarkson. Loss of two for Alford on the play. Second down and 12 now from the Clarkson and 40. Alford one of three receivers to the left side or to the right side rather.

Kraber the only man Wide to the left and they'll toss it to the running back. Desarno running to the right side, crosses the 40, running laterally finally is able to belly up field enough to get a few yards down to the 37 yard line before he is stopped. Gain of about 3. That was a nice job by the receiver Alford out there to block but you know, the running back decided to go inside Larry instead of bounce. So basically the running back had kicked everybody inside.

Well, you got to make that read, you see that? Then you got to redirect to the outside. So that was just a little miscommunication between receiver making a good block, running back making the cut. Noriega splits to the right side. Three men wide to the left.

Now out of the pistol, third and nine. Clarkston at the NC 37. Steinwan gives it on a draw. A little opening for Knappik as he cuts back to the right. 30, 25, 20.

Now it's a foot race. 15, 10, 5 touchdown for Clarkston. Kanap Miles Milo Kanap rather with the run there. That is a 37 yard rushing touchdown and he has wound that back Paul. It was going up the middle and then he was able to bounce that thing out to the outside and he outran everybody.

He got a great block from Crapper out on the outside who basically came in and kind of not necessarily a crack back but did an excellent job on the corner. Knocked him down, sealed the outside so he could make that serpentine move from the inside right to the outside. Showed that great speed down the sidelines. Excellent run, very nice drive for Clarkston. So here's the pat a line drive kick through by Alfred and we'll take a one minute break here.

That probably should have been a tackle for loss in the backfield. Workman unofficially 10 carries, 32 yards in this one. Second down and nine trips to the right. One man wide to the left. Jones out of the pistol, accepts the snap, fakes the handoff to Workman, moves to the left now fires deep down the right side.

Man is open. That's caught inside the 45 yard line. Down inside the 40 and struggling down to the 38 yard line. That is Nick to put it at the 36 yard line. Nick Elliott, long gain, first down.

Damon Orthodontics. Well, that was just a great job. Little corner route by him and they had two receivers run, ran a wheel, run, ran a corner. They kind of both got there at the same time. Beautiful throw by Jones though, Larry, as he put some air under that thing.

Allowing the receiver to make the adjustment on a big play for North Central. 33 yards on the pickup that time. Down to the 36 yard line. First down and 10 in Clarkston territory. Third time NC has been in Clarkston territory.

Motion coming through to the right side and Jones will throw under pressure. Steps up in the pocket, fires it to the sidelines incomplete near his intended receiver, but nowhere to where the man could make the catch. Zach Schletter at the tight end. It'll be second down. He's shaking his hand right now, his right hand.

I think he came down on the top of a helmet when he threw that thing and that's painful. If you hit your thumb, you're gonna break that darn thing. So looks like he's okay. Back in the huddle. Smart play.

Felt the pressure, got rid of the football, avoided a couple sack. Trevel Jones, the quarterback, nearing 100 passing yards in this ball game. Second and 10 NC at the Clarkston 36. Motion coming through to the left side. Here's the snapback.

Jones throws, has a catch inside the 35 yard line. Tackled immediately is the receiver. That was the motion man, Matthew Campbell. And he was immediately knocked down by Emmitt Slag. And so it'll be third down here.

That was a nice throw. He put that up in the air. Slag did a nice job of undercutting the route. Got there as soon as the ball did, but still perfect placement by the sophomore Jones. He's getting better, Larry.

I like the way he's standing in there and commanding this offense right now, both running and throwing the football. We'll call it a gain of four down short of the 32 yard line. Third down and along six. They need to take it to the 26 yard line. Four wide receivers, two to either side.

Motion coming left to right through the formation. And Jones will throw, has time, steps up in the pocket now he will run inside the 30, has a first down. Carrying the ball in one hand like a loaf of bread, but he's able to get it down to the 24 yard line. Damon Orthodontics, first down and a pickup of 8 yards for Trevel Jones. Fortunately they had him down on that contact or that would have been a fumble.

And you're right, that's something. Ball security they're gonna have to work on. And you know, you go to the grocery store, you work hard for those groceries, you don't want to spill the bag. Running across the street and he gets a first down. Does everything right in that play.

Do not want to fumble at the end of that thing because you didn't take care of the football. Gain of eight and a Damon Orthodontics, first down. Down to the bantam 24 yard line. Ball on the left hash mark. They have receivers to either side and a wing set to the right.

Workman, the running back behind Jones, who Accepts the pistol snap, waist tie, fakes the handoff, pressure coming, runs to the left, flips the pass out and was behind his intended receiver. Just barely out there on the left side. That might have been a touchdown to Nick Elliot, but he threw it a little bit behind him. He was open. They caught him in a blitz.

Nobody picked Elliot up, who's running a crossing route from the right side to the left side. And that was just one of those deals. He was so open. Sometimes those are the hardest throws because you aim the ball instead of throw it. He aimed it, it sailed on him.

So incomplete pass. Second down and 10, 5:40 remaining to play. Third quarter, Clarkston on top of North Central 28. Nothing here here, but NC has had several good drives in this game. They just haven't been able to get one into the end zone yet.

Four wide receivers, two to either side. On second and 10 out of the pistol, Jones takes the snap, waist tie, rolls to the left side. Looking to the sidelines. Nobody open now. Throws back against the grain.

Has a catch at the numbers inside the 20 yard line and tackled immediately as the receiver down at the 17, it is Nick Elliot. On the tackle was Hoffman for Clarkston and a gain on the play of seven yards. Nick Elliott has five tackles on defense. He's got a bevy of catches on offense he's done a nice job of blocking. He's an all purpose dude over there.

He's only a sophomore as well, but good size at 6 foot 180 pounds and took four Clarkston Pandit, Bannon's, Banhams. Is that like Moscow? Okay. Anyway, four catches unofficially for Elliott in the game. Third and three, North Carolina at the 17 yard line.

They had two men in motion there, no pen back to throw. Getting deflected at the line of scrimmage. This is a loose ball and it's incomplete as Jones got buried that time by Sage lone bear. The 280 pounder and he had to get rid of it and he's a little shaken up here and it'll be fourth down and three. Yeah, that's a QB hurry.

Also has a sack. Lone Bear has been a beast, you know, out there and you know that was just a good clean play. Good hit. And when somebody's £285 and they're hitting you when you're getting ready to throw and you're exposed, that doesn't feel very good. 448 remaining to play here in the third quarter.

And I think North Central is going to take a timeout here. They've got it. Fourth and three at the Clarkston 17. There are five seconds on the play clock. The clock is stopped due to the incomplete pass.

So that it's not like they were running out the game clock any. They just had the. Now the game clock has started for some reason. So they'll figure all that out here and iron things out. But we'll have a timeout on the field first.

That's gonna be the question. Clarkston. Wow. Give him five yards and a first down down to the 12 yard line. I thought the running back moved in the backfield.

He was. He shifted and came up field. But that was after Clarkson jumped so good. Hard count by the quarterback and maybe that was something the coaching staff talked about. Let's give head coach Aaron Woods.

He said go up there, give him a hard count. We'll go on two and see if we can draw him offsides. Guess what? It worked. So NC now at the Clarkston 12 on the left hash mark.

Still 440 remaining to play here in the third quarter. So they didn't adjust the game clock any after it wound down a few seconds. So after the timeout was called, first down and 10 from the Bantam 12 yard line, two backs in the backfield along with the quarterback Jones who fakes the handoff, throws and it's intercepted of a deflection taking the ball back up over the 15 to the 20, 25, 30 down the left sidelines across the 35 and being spilled up at the 40 yard line as Stephen Alford, they tried to throw a slant, it went off the receiver and is intercepted by Alfred and he runs it back out to the 40 yard line.

He was tackled by Jacob Sanchez who saved that touchdown. The 10th. The sophomore offensive line was the last guy there. If he doesn't make that tackle, That's a pick six. Bad break that time, you know.

44 North Central there, but great job. Good heads up play by Alford to pick that thing off and nearly house it. So first down and 10, Clarkston at their own 40 yard line here. Ball on the left hash mark. Two receivers will split to either side.

Depaulo, the court or the running back behind the quarterback, Steinwander Desarno. Rather low snap. Steinwand throws short left side, has a catch as that is hauled in by Favoridge as he gets to the 45 yard line, the gain of five. They use him underneath and just a nice little kind of drag route on that one. Good throw, you know, by Steinwad there and he's able to find that open receiver.

He plants that foot, that ball is out and he's pretty darn accurate when he does that. After the five yard gain to Theeveridge, it's second and five. Craver splits to the left side, ball on the left hash. Three receivers go right. Noriega is the wide man out at the numbers on the far side of the field.

Out of the pistol again. Steinwan takes a low snap, looks to the right, throw short right side caught by a line, 50 yard line. Breaks the tackle down the right sidelines to the 40 and is cut down over across the way there. But that's going to be a first down play. I think it was Nick Elliott that brought him down.

A Damon Orthodontics. First down to the NC 39, six tackle by Elliott. Good job on that one. Just an out route, but he was wide open. They Went with a two deep route.

One was a post, the other one was a deep corner and that left the underneath receiver wide open. Elliot had to come over and finally knock him off his feet. Sixteen yards on the pickup. First and 10. Banhams ball in the right hash at the NC 39.

Four wide, two to either side. Low snap again. Fading back is the quarterback. Steinwand has time, now moves to the left side. Being pursued.

Now throws back over the middle of field, incomplete through the hands of Noriega. And the difference being there the safety was not behind the intended receiver directly. Had he been behind him directly, that might have been a pick going the other way. Well, but that's also a time where the quarterback buys time. He rolls to his left, he gets out of trouble.

He, you know, they're trying to cover these guys for 5, 6, 7, 8, 7. It's hard to do. It's really hard, hard to do. So he had his pick of guys that were open. He just couldn't connect because that should have been a catch the quarter.

The receiver should have gone up with two hands and pulled that down. Tough catch, but catchable. Second and 10 from the NC 39. Stein 1, tosses it to the running back. Running to the right side, 35, 30, has a seam inside the 25 to the 20, makes a man miss, gets inside the 10 and is finally knocked off his feet as he gets down to the eight yard line.

There is a marker down. And so if this is going to go against Clarkston, that'll wipe out a huge 31 yard run. And it looks like it will. I think he had a hold on the outside. That was such a huge hole over there.

Nice job. I wasn't sure if it's the guard or tackle that pulled, but whoever did just buried the linebacker on the inside. And I think you had a wide receiver holding on the outside. They're gonna move that back 10 yards. And that's too bad because that was a beautiful run.

And it'll be marked off from the spot of the foul, the 38 yard line, and they'll take it back to the 48. So from the line of scrimmage, a nine yard penalty here. And so it'll be second and 19 now for the Bantams at the NC 48. 343 remaining. Third quarter, 28 nothing.

Clarkston on top of North Central. Ball on the right. Hash Craver wide left with line inside of him. Two men wide to the right, back to throw. It's a little screen set up for Noriega at the 50.

He's running to the left side at the 45. Flags down again. Noriega goes down as he goes to the 43 yard line. Tackled on the play by Keegan Schnell. But I think we're gonna get another hold here on Clarkston.

Either legal man downfield. I don't think he caught that behind the line of scrimmage, Larry. He may not have. So the officials are talking it over. Line of scrimmage was the 48 yard line of NC and the officials talking it over.

Now, you had one of the North Central defensive backs come off the field, too. It looks like he holding. Okay, so it will be a hold. And they are going to accept the penalty. They had their choice between third.

Nope. Now they will decline it. Oh, no, they will accept it. So they have the choice between third and 19 at the 48 or second and 29 from the 41. And they'll accept the actually second and 22 or 30.

Wait a minute. They've got nine and second and 30 from the 41 yard line. Now Clarkston at their own 41. So second down and 34 wide, two to either side, ball on the right, hash motion from line toward the formation, from the left back to throw it. Steinwan, plenty of time.

Moves to the right now to the sidelines. Heaves it downfield. And it's incomplete. Pretty good coverage there by North Central Hayden Lyon, the intended receiver. I think it was Tommy Elliott who was over there.

And the pass incomplete. Boy, the Elliott brothers have had really good games. Tommy has been all over the place. And he undercut that route. Just did a nice job of staying right on the hip of the receiver.

And again, good job by the quarterback for Clarkston. He rolls right, he buys time. He waits until he sees somebody. And he threw that to a very small window. Nearly a great catch and throw.

So now you've got to stay and don't let anybody behind you here. On third and 30 for Clarkston at their own 41 yard line, Steinwand takes a knee high snap, fades back, looks left, comes back to the right. Now he runs running to the right side. He's to the 50 and will run out of bounds and is taken out of bounds with a late hit and low at the knees, which is not a good thing to do. But no flag is down.

Wow. Tommy Elliott hit him at the knees after he was out of bounds, it appeared. But no flag from the official. It'll be fourth down here. Wow.

They're gonna have to punt. So good job By North Central. And remember it was a penalty that wiped out that great run. I think it was. Was it Noriega that ran all the way down there inside?

It was kanap. Kanap. Anyway, penalties really hurt Clarkson on this particular drive. Holding. And so a gain of 13 on that last run by Steinwand.

But it'll be four here and the punter is Sage Lone Bear, the two way starting lineman and he gets a pretty good kickoff. It's gonna hit inside the 15, bounce inside the 10, bounce inside the 5. Rolling to the end zone and just barely crosses the goal line. And so it'll be a touchback and NC will take over at the 40 yard line following a 46 yard punt there with no return. We have 251 remaining to play.

And Shadow park has a good team and a fun team to watch as well. So that should be a nice ball game tomorrow night here at the stadium. Now first down and 10 after the first punt of the ball game by Clarkston Jones, the quarterback operating out of the pistol workman behind him. Three receivers to the left. Motion coming through to the right by Elliott. Low snap, Jones rolls to the right side, being pursued, comes to the corner, throws the ball downfield high over the head of his intended receiver. Incomplete.

Elliott it. And the ball probably should have been intercepted by Luke Siler of Clarkston. The ball kind of hit him number three on the front of his jersey. Yeah, that was. That's dangerous.

Rolling to your right side, throwing late across the middle. That's a cardinal sin, you know, for a quarterback. He'll learn from that. He's trying to make plays. I love what he's doing.

He's going to come out, talk to his coach. He got banged up again as he got hammered at the end of that play and he's, he's going to be a sore puppy tomorrow. Yeah, he got clobbered there at the end of that play. Was very slow in getting up, but he is up. But I think they're gonna have to take another time out here.

They're down to eight seconds as he staggers back toward the huddle, but he's not gonna get there. They're gonna have to take that time out here. That'll be their second time out of the second half, but that's a good time. You know what, in those situations, you're protecting the young man. That's a good time out to take, Give him a little bit more time to recover here.

But what we'd like to see here in the Last just under 18 minutes is the completion Of a drive. They've had chances. They've had chances. They were down on the 3 yards. Could easily be a 2814 game right now, maybe 28 17.

That's been the frustration for North Central. They've had. They've got some players, they've got dudes out here that can play. They're just not. They're not finishing.

You know, whether it's finishing on defense, stopping a drop or finishing on offense by putting the football in the end zone. That's the maturation process of a good football team. And that's something that they're going to need to learn how to do. And they're getting better. They have a lot of young guys out here.

They'll be fine. Very young team. Second down and 10 out of the pistol. Jones fades back, pressured by Clarkston. Running now to the right side.

Gets hit short of the line of scrimmage. Goes down, fumbles the ball. But I think he was down when he went down. So Trevel Jones is sacked this time by Josh hoffman. Hoffman, the 6 3, 220 pound linebacker, loss of a couple of yards, loss of a yard on the play.

Man, Clarkson's got some big dudes. I mean their linebackers are 6, 3, 2, 20. Their D lines 245 to 285. That's a big fellows up there. Nice job that time by Hoffman to recognize that.

And then close and I think they're spying the quarterback a little bit with one of their backups. So when he starts to run, they're pursuing fourth sack of the day. Clock running down toward two minutes remaining to play here in the third quarter. Third and eleven now for the Wolfpack at their own 19. Ball on the right hash.

Down to three on the play clock. They're gonna have to hurry to get this off. They do. And Jones fades back. He has time.

Steps up, has the ball deflected at the line of scrimmage. But it's caught by the running back, Workman and he gets to the 25 yard line before he is knocked off his feet. In there on that tackle was J. J. deSarno.

That ball was tipped and fortunately caught by Workman. Looked like a Frisbee golf match there for a second. I mean, just kind of fling that thing up in the air. Went in the right direction of Workman who two handed that thing. North Central's gonna have to punt.

Clarkson's gonna get good field position, but good pressure again up the middle. Gain of six on the play. It brings up fourth down and five and on to Punt it away is Bieruth Tang and this is gonna roll back across midfield all the way back inside the 35 yard line and it'll be touchdown by Josiah Dunn back at the 33 yard line.

So that ends up being a very nice punt. 30, 42 yards with no return. They also have the wing set to the right and the tight end Hoffman. He will pull to the left in a running play for Dasarno and he is knocked off his feet as he crosses the 35 yard line. Gets up to the 39 before he is brought down in on the stop Seth Bromley among others.

Gain of about 6. Seth, excellent block that time by the tight end Josh Hoffman who plays both ways and he was able to kick out on that and that really sprung the running back to get up field and nice secondary tackle. The NCDBs and linebackers have been very busy today. Second down and four ball near the center of the field, two receivers to the left, one to the right, a wing set to the right and they hand it off again to Sarno. Winds back to the left, gets hit and brought down as he gets to the 42 yard line.

So he's short of the first down there as Tommy Elliott brings him down after a gain of about 3 yards. Also had help from Seth Bromley who's been on four tackles. And the Elliott brothers have been busy. Larry, they're well over 12 tackles between the two of them and they've been flying around out there making plays. So third in a yard now for the Bantams and that's going to get us to the end of the third quarter of play here at One Spokane Stadium in downtown Spokane.

3 FM. Well, we get ready to start the fourth quarter of play here at 1 Spokane Stadium, 28 nothing Clarkston here in this ball game. They have roughly 300 yards of offense so far. Three passing touchdowns in this game. And you can see this is a very balanced offense they have.

They can run up some big yardage on offense, either running or passing. Well, I think Larry, this is going to be a situation where they're going to want to, you know, run the ball. They want to burn clock here. They've controlled the line of scrimmage. They're doing some good stuff.

They'll set up an occasional play action pass. But you know, it's a situation now where they're, they're basically getting after it here and doing some good stuff. Wind has picked up here in the second half of play. Pretty stiff wind blowing right now. Look at the 10 across from us.

If it was a mullet, that portion of the hair would be blowing all over the place. Well, they've got a problem over there. That's the TV tent and Mike Peterson and Dennis Patchen are trying to hold it down while they are doing play by play. I saw some papers flying in the wrong direction. There's probably a couple of lineups that are now in Coeur d'.

Alene. I'm sure it is. And that tent is just about gone. Look at those guys. Those guys are literally holding the tent in place as we come back to action.

Here's A run on a little fly sweep. Picking his way into the middle of the line and getting maybe a yard up. To the 44 or 45 yard line is the ball carrier. That is line. He gains a yard, maybe two, but it's good enough for the first down.

Well, just that that's what they wanted to do. Just a nice job kind of to the right side, little zone read over there and you know, good job of finding the hole and then cutting back and making sure he got across the line to gain. First down and 10 at their own 45 yard line here they've got the pistol formation in the backfield and there's the snap back and back to throw it as the quarterback steps up, throws a deep ball down the left side down.

Man is out there and it's through the hands of Craver. Incomplete. That was a touchdown. If they could have completed it. But Craber was.

Couldn't quite hang on to that one there and he was a little off balance. Had he caught it, I think he would have ended up going out of bounds in the end. But still, second and 10. Wind might have had something to do with that one. I think it pushed that thing left on him and he tried to make that adjustment late because it's whipping pretty good right now.

And he was wide open. There wasn't a guy within 10 yards of him and unfortunately that ball pulling him out of bounds. The tent has been able to hold on and well, for now they added some people to try to help out, but they've still got a problem here. Second down and here's a dropped ball. It's loose, picked up by the quarterback and then he is smashed at about the 35 yard line.

He got blown up and I think it was Bromley. Bromley's had a great game as well. He's been all over the field and he's done a nice job in terms of playing. I like the way this kid competes. Loss of 10 on the play.

Stein 1 never really had it. Finally was able to find it and he got blasted pretty good for finding the football. That was Bromley's fifth tackle plus a sack. That's. That's a sack.

Is that a tackle for loss? That's not a. Yeah, that's a tackle for a loss. Because it was a bad snap. I went to give him a sack, but you're right.

So at least that's what I would call it anyway. Second down and 10. Somebody else may call it something else. Second and 10 and back to throw to Steinwand. Looking to the left.

Throwing deep down the left side again looking for Craven. And did he haul it in? No, he was out of bounds, incomplete. So Craver the antenna receiver and he tried to put a toe down inbounds but he couldn't quite do it. Great effort by him.

Another beautiful ball though. That ball was right on the target. And again I think the win, what they're doing is they're running too tight to the sidelines. They got to get closer to the numbers. But that was just good defensive play by the cornerback over there because he walled, he shoved basically the wide receiver, you know, and widened him so he really didn't have a lot of room to work with over there on that sideline.

So the SWX crew I think has figured out the tent over across the way here is Lone Bear's punt to the near sidelines. It'll bounce back inside the 20 and be killed at about the 17 yard line and really that they probably should have let that continue to bounce. But I think the big thing over there that the tent is safe for the time being. Although they've got an army over there to help hold everything down. First down and 10 out of the pistol. Jones running back behind him, fades back to pass pressure coming. It's a screen and it's a good over the 20 to the 25 30.

And breaking a tackle down the sidelines. 40, 45, 50. It's Tommy Elliott to the 40, 35, 30. And he is finally pushed out of bounds by Desarno all the way down inside the 30 yard line at the 27 yard line. That is a 56 yard passing gain and a first down.

A David Orthodontics first down. He had an awesome block out there downfield. I think it was Seth Bromley, Larry, that cleared the way for me. Came out and pulled. It was a screen.

So he had linemen downfield and he blew up the corner over there which sprung him to head down the sidelines. What a great run by him. And he was finally shoved out of bounds. Looked like he was going to house it and so I think I missed. Yeah, 56 yards.

I think I was right on that one 56 yard play. First down and 10 from the 27 yard line. Ball on the left. Hash again out of the pistol with a full back set to the right and Jones turns and missed the handoff. Now he'll run back to the left side, but he's hemmed in.

He's going to be hit for a big loss. They wanted to run to the right but he turned to the wrong way, did the young quarterback and ends up being a loss 8 tackle for loss on that one. That was Earpston. Earps the senior came up along with another player and really no place to go. When you have a missed assignment like that, you just try to get up field.

He tried to create something out another and lost more yards. So a loss eight on the play. Brings up a second and 18 situation here for the Wolfpack. Down to nine, 42 remaining here in the fourth quarter as the wind continues to. Now it died down for a minute, but now it's back to blowing hard again out of the pistol, back to throw to Jones.

Has time, fires over the middle, has a catch, a diving catch down at about the 25 yard line as that was Matthew Campbell. That hauls it in. And so they gain about 10 yards. That was a nice drag route across the middle. Good throw.

I really like what Jones did. Finding camels only 5 10. He went up for that ball laid out and was able to give them a very manageable third down here. You got 9:05 to go in the fourth quarter. Still 28 to nothing.

Clarkson over North Central. We'll call it third and eight here. I think it's two down territory. They're not going to do the field goal from the 25 yard line here. Ball near the center of the field.

Two receivers each side. Clarkston showing blitz. Jones takes the snap, runs to the right side, being pursued by three players and gets a pass out of there incomplete. But he got flattened by Erbst again and it'll be fourth down at about eight. And again this young man has taken a pounding tonight.

He gets up slowly, but he'll run to the huddle holding his right shoulder. Now he's 6 1, 155 pounds. And you know that's where the weight room, that's where a couple years of growth, I mean all that's stuff will make a difference. But you can't question his heart. He's tough, absolutely pounded.

This is nice turf, but when you spend a lot of Time out with your nose in it. It's not a lot of fun. And you get beat up. Down to 10 on the play clock as he trots back to the huddle to call the play here for his team. Fourth down and eight at the Clarkston 25 yard line.

They get the line of scrimmage with three on the play clock. They get everybody lined up, but they can't get the playoff in time unless they called a time out. They did not. So it's going to be a delay, a game penalty. They ask the quarterback to come to the sidelines with every play.

So they've got to be very quick once he gets to the sidelines to get the play called. Yeah, and it's not working. So they're going to move that back five yards. Sturm Heating and Air Conditioning. They're H Vac experts since 1945, as they say.

We're just getting started. Sturm heating and air conditioning. And I think he's going to have to come out of the game now as the quarterback. Jones and Workman's going to go in. They're probably going to run the Wildcat or Tommy Elliott, who's been their quarterback, will probably play.

But now they're going to have taken time out here because of all this to figure out what they want to do. It's their final time out of the game with 846 remaining. Fourth quarter, 28. Nothing in favor of Clarkston. Have you read everything you need to read?

No. Hang on. Let's see. I think there's still some things to read in there. Yeah, there might be.

Intercepted by Hoffman, runs it back up over the left side, crosses the 30 and gets out to about the 32 or 33 yard line. Tommy Elliott throws the interception coming in because Travell Jones was knocked out of the game and his first pass. It's a pick and Clark's. But they were taking over anyway.

If you don't get 12 yards, they're taking over with the loss of downs. Anyhow. He had a guy running a post behind him on that linebacker. Just slid underneath. Read the quarterback size.

And that's a tough situation you're coming in. It's 4th and 12, the rain's coming down, the wind's blowing sideways. You're trying to. You haven't even warmed up and you got to come out and throw the pistol. That's hard to do.

Yeah, it's really hard to do. So Clarkston takes over. Thrown 33 here. First down and 10 out of the pistol with a hard rain falling. Now they throw it out to Craber.

Got a block up the sidelines. Over the 40 to the 45 and is pushed out of bounds at the 45 yard line. It's a Damon Orthodontics first down and a pickup of 12 yards from Steinwan to Kreber. Kreber, he's the real deal and I like Steinwan. He's.

He's an impressive looking young man. He's going to play at the next level somewhere because he steps back, he takes command of the football, he makes good decisions, he has good mechanics. And I'll tell you, when he gets rid of that football, it gets there in a hurry. First down and 10. Clarkston at their own 45 yard line.

Ball on the left hash and they will toss it to the left side. And this is the running back running down the left sidelines. Has a first down across midfield, over the 45, down to the 40 yard line. And that is Knapp again. And that's going to be a pickup of 15 at least.

And a first down. Another Damon Orthodontics first. I like the sage Lone Bear, Larry. He's a senior, number 51, he's pulling around the corner there and absolutely buried the outside linebacker. Then he went after the corner.

He tried to get two guys in that one play. That was awesome. First down and 10. Clarkston down at the 40 now of North Central. And they'll throw A little screen out to the left side that is caught by Alfred.

He gets down inside the 35 yard line and is written down as he gets to the 34. A gain of about six yards on that play. I think it might have been. It was either Tommy Elliott or Nick Floyd on the tackle there for NC again of six. So six yards on that little screen there.

It'll be second down and four here at the 34 of North Central. Clock running 7:12 remaining here in the fourth quarter. Another little screen thrown out to Alford now on the left side. He's hitting the backfield and thrown for a loss. Another good defensive play for North Central.

Was that Tommy Elliott over there? Probably he's been all over the field. Yep, it was. Yep. He's got.

I think he's up to eight tackles now. His brother's got seven. So they're gonna have an argue all the way home on who is, who's the better player here. But that should go well into the night. And third down and seven as it is really raining hard here right now and the wind is continuing to blow.

Not very comfortable for people out in the weather at this point in time. Third and seven at the 36 yard line now third and six, we'll call it from the 36 yard line. And they fake the handoff. Running out of Stywon to the right side. Throws, has a man open down at the 25 yard line.

That's going to be a first down. Theeveridge all the way down to the 22 yard line. That's a 14 yard pickup and a first down. Josiah Dunn on the tackle on that one, but that was plenty of time. Great rollout, kind of a half roll there.

Inside receiver, kind of ran a. About a 15, 16 yard little hook route and he just settled in the hole there. Playing zone defense out there. Found the open spot and did a great job of being able to connect with his quarterback. And he caught the football clock running as we near six minutes remaining to play here in the fourth quarter.

28 nothing. Clarkston over North Central. Banham's first and 10 at the NC. 22 ball on the right. Hash back to throw to Steinwind.

Pressured out, runs to the left side. Bromley is after him. Throws the ball to the sidelines. Incomplete. Looking for Craver.

Good pressure there. Bromley wasn't the only member of the wolf pack chasing him as it looked like it was Schnell again, the linebacker who was also chasing him and forcing that pass to be thrown offline. Yeah, and that was tough. Good coverage down in the back end, they ran kind of a deep route. Receivers coming back right, right around the first mark.

First down stick, but just couldn't get to the football. And that was because of the pressure. Hence the errand pass to the left. So second and ten now for the bantams at the NC 22 yard line. From the right hash trips left, Noriega wide to the right.

Steinwand hands it off on a draw. And they get it down inside the 20. Down to about the 16 yard line, maybe the 15 yard line. Tommy Elliott. Elliott brings down the running back.

DeSarno after a gain of seven. Yeah, DiSarno hits that hole pretty quickly though. That was a well designed play. Good job because both the guards will fan out. They'll widen the field and push the defensive tackles towards the sidelines.

And that's where the hole was created. He just hit that thing full speed. So third and three now for Clarkston. Down at the 15 of NC again, trips right, one man wide left out of the pistol formation. They fake the handoff.

Steinwand rolls to the right side, being pursued by elliott. He the 10, cuts back, gets to the five and maybe to the four. And it'll be a Damon Orthodontics first down there as they run it. Stein one for 11 yards and a Damon Orthodontics first. Another tackle by Tommy Elliott.

He and his brother Nick have been all over the field. They've had to be aggressive. But this is kind of what I thought Clarkson was going to do. Larry, you've got a big lead. You're up four touchdowns.

It's rainy, it's windy. Run the football, burn the clock. You don't need to throw the ball here. You just need to keep them honest and just pound the. Pound the rock right now.

So first down and goal to go here with a ball on the right hash mark down at the four yard line. Steinwand has three passing touchdowns. Knapp has one rushing touchdown. He's the setback here. Clock running.

Four and a half minutes to play here in the fourth quarter. And will it be a delay or a timeout out? It'll be a delay. No timeout taken. And so that'll be a five yard penalty and mark the ball back to the nine yard line.

Knapp Is the setback here. And they bring motion from the left side. They will hand it fly sweep. This is line running to the right. Nothing there.

Run out of bounds. Tommy Elliott stopped him right at the line of scrimmage. No gain on the play. Yeah, just a nice job that time. They're running the tight side of the field, but a good job by NC to kind of string that out.

And this is a legitimate downpour we have going right now. Big old drops of water and I'll tell you, it's coming down hard. Yeah, I don't think I'd really want to be out in the stands at this point in time. And a lot of the Clarkston students are just out there enjoying it. They're jumping up and down and having a good time.

Second down and goal from the nine. Snap back to Stein. One looks to the left side. Being pursued by Bromley. Run into the left side, flag down, throws back at the end zone.

Juggling catch made. Craven touchdown. But this or Craver rather touched down. But a hole is going to bring this back on Clarkston. That's at least three of those on them here in this game.

Yeah, I think that was Nick shut that time. 64. He got nailed for grabbing, grabbing a little bit of the hanky over there around the corner. And the umpire saw that they're going to move it back 10 yards. Wiping out a touchdown.

Nice job that time by Steinwad. That had been touchdown. What number four. Four for him. And he rolled left, saw the receiver kind of in the back of the end zone, threw it off up over the defensive back.

Seaver had to double clutch that thing because the football's wet. It's not easy to catch it when it's wet and windy like this. Trust me. All right, so the toughest person here is the ball boy for Clarkston is he's not. Doesn't have a coat on or anything.

Short sleeve shirt. Here's a little screen set up into the middle to Craver. Gets inside the 10 and his knife down as he gets to about the seven yard line. Nick Elliott down there on the stop that time. And they get it down to the seven yard line for a gain of 12.

It'll be fourth and goal. I like Clarkson's screen game. It's solid, man. They do a good job of influencing you with the line of scrimmage. Then they have guys coming in from either side so you can throw it left, throw it right.

That time he went to Kraber who made a nice move, nearly got in the end zone. So I correct myself. Third and goal now from the seven yard line. There's the snap back. They fake the handoff.

Running out to the right side is Steinwon being pursued to the corner. Fires end zone incomplete. Leaping try there off the hands of Alford. And so now it is fourth down and goal from the seven yard line with 3:11 remaining to play in the fourth. Josh Hochman, the tight end who's a junior was in the back of the end zone clapping his hands, waving his arms.

He was wide open and Steinwad never saw him. I would not be surprised if they come back run a similar play because he was open in the back of the end zone to hit him. They have half a Spokane holding down the TV tent over across the way. They've got about six guys in the back hanging onto it. Fourth down and goal from the seven yard line.

Two receivers to either side. Steinwan to throw out of the gun. Bromley forces him out, makes him run to the right side. Steinwon still looking back at the end zone. Incomplete.

Dropped it out of the hands of his intended receiver line and NC is going to get another stop unless there's a flag down. There is not. We're going to get a timeout on the field and we will take a timeout as well. 303 remember to play in the fourth quarter. Now they're not going to argue about all the tackles they had to make because they were able to connect on the pass and catch a reception there. First down, nice drive again, you know, again this is positive. NC wants to build some things here and I'm inspired. This is better than I thought they were going to do. I know they're getting beat by four touchdowns, but this is a much closer game than that.

If they punch the ball in, it's a two touchdown game. With all the rain, it's got to be like you're throwing a watermelon right now and it's slippery and it's cold. It's not fun. First down and 10, ball up at their own 30. Four trips left, one man wide right.

And Tommy Elliott will throw, has some time, fires the ball to the right side. Incomplete. Looking for Workman out of the backfield on a wheel route. Very well covered though by Logan McCartcher, a sophomore for Clarkston and one of the linemen for Clarkson was over there, went over the head and the ball hit him in a spot that's kind of painful. After NC drove into Clarkston territory, they were able to stiffen, they got the ball, they started a seven play 64 yard drive that took 324 off the clock and their quarterback, the returning starter Carter Steinwand, who's had some big games so far this year, delivers a 12 yard passing touchdown to his favorite receiver Ryken Craig.

And it was a 7 nothing lead in favor of Clarkston. That's how we ended the first quarter of play. Each team had possessions, could not score. Clarkston ended up getting the ball back after a punt at the North Central 49 early in the second quarter of play. And it only took him two plays to score.

Stein won. The quarterback ran for 15 yards and then threw a 34 yard passing touchdown to Hayden line. And the PAT was good. And a two play 49 yard drive takes 24 seconds, 14 nothing. Clarkston, North Carolina moved the ball all the way down inside the five in their next drive, but they could not score.

They end up missing a field goal. There was a penalty after the play. Clarkston took over at their own 10. And this is kind of the play that salted this game away for Clarkston. It gave them a 21 nothing lead.

If they have instead of 147 or maybe 143 poll, you know that's where it could have been. But this drive ended it all and it ended on this play. Our play of the game presented by Adams. Tractor count of the pistol. Stein 1, fades back, looks to the right, comes back to the left, now runs to the left, throws short, caught craber all alone, 105 touchdown.

There was nobody near him. Craber caught it on the sidelines. Broken coverage there. And he was able to waltz down the sidelines for the east run. 17 yard pitch and catch.

And the third touchdown of the ballgame through the air for Clarkston here in the first half. Second connection between Steinwand and Craber. And so if NC punches it in, makes it a 147 ball game, maybe this is a different game, but instead 21 nothing. And that was 12 seconds before half. Those are any time that you can get a touchdown or a field goal, you know, right before halftime, that really is a downer for the team.

That gives that up and that gives them a three touchdown lead going in. Starting the third quarter of play, Clarkston had the ball. They moved down the field. Seven plays, 58 yards, took 320 off the clock. Their backup running back Milo Knapp ended up running it in from 37 yards out.

Pat Good. It was 28 nothing and then three interceptions for North Central or for Clarkston in the second half of play, they couldn't score. Credit the NC defense for stiffening in the rain. You know, they played hard, they played well. They just didn't take advantage of some opportunities they had.

This could have been a much closer game. But credit Clarkston. They get the victory. Well, Jones gets knocked out. He took a beating, got sacked a lot, but he's an explosive young man as a sophomore and you know, I was impressed by what I saw with him, but he wasn't able to finish the game as he got roughed up there at the end.

Yeah, he's going to be a really good player making what we believe was his first start as a sophomore in this ball game for nc. I was going to go in a different direction and then Larry came up with this. Sage Lone Bear played offensive line, defensive line. He had a quarterback hurry, he had half a sack, he had five tackles and he was a beast on offense, creating holes, getting out there, knocking guys down. On one of the long touch or one of the long 50 yard line plays. He blew a corner up about 20 yards downfield and he was also the punch.

So overall he had a great game overall. We don't do a lot of offensive linemen, you know, defensive linemen, two way player, punter guys very often. Well, guess what? Sage Lone Bear gets it tonight. Well, it is very often you see the offensive center who's also the punter.

I know and getting, like I said, 20 yards downfield to make a key block to spring, you know, one of the longest plays of the night. So great job for him. Congratulations. Stein won to 18 out of 26188 yards in the contest with three touchdowns, two of them to Craver who had seven catches for 75 yards. Lyon had the other touchdown catch for Clarkston. The leading ball carrier was knapp who had 74 yards rushing and a touchdown in the ball game. Steinwund added 54 yards to Sarno, had 44 yards for Clarkston. North Central had 270 yards of offense in the ball game.

Game. Jones, the quarterback passed for 174. Nick Elliott had five catches for 86 yards in the ball game and Workman was the leading ball carrier. He had 45 rushing yards. If you were to take the sacks away from Jones, he would have had a good game rushing.

But he got sacked four times in the game. Plus there was a bad snap that went over his head and another play in which he was tackled for a loss of yardage. And so he had four or five runs where he gained 30, 40 yards, but he lost it all back in the sacks and the other unfortunate plays, Nick and Tommy Elliot, I thought played really, really well. They had between the two of them 13 tackles and were all over the field. You know, this was a team that's relatively young.

They only had 10 seniors on the squad, but their sophomore class is really good. If they can keep this team together for two more years, Larry, I think North Central is going to be the surprise team.
