I'm Greg Talbot, former Eastern Washington star safety to Hunt A Hayes is riding shotgun the night and Steve Price punching the ones and twos back in our network Studios here on 700 ESPN and 105. 3 FM. Coming your way at the top of the hour tonight. Like we said first round of the WIAA 4A playoffs. We've got the Gonzaga Prep Bullpups and the Moses Lake Chiefs.

Here's a little bit of what we are looking forward to tonight. Moses Lake 7 and 3 on the year 6 and oh in their league they went undefeated against teams that mattered. Also importantly they are on a five game winning streak here. Coming into G Prep they are an up tempo spread team. You don't see that a lot in this part of the country.

They love to attack secondary so their quarterback against the bullpups defensive backs. That's the major key tonight for G Prep. You know the Mino love you know you love them. They're from the area. 11 and oh undefeated on the year 9 and oh of course the GSL.

Although one of the big stories coming into this week they were snubbed in the bracket. They got pushed all the way back to number six because of the rpi. Statistically according to a lot of folks in the region they should have been between number three and number five. So they'll be looking to make a statement tonight. Also to watch McKenna versus the world.

Their junior rather their senior quarterback Ryan McKenna has been a true MVP this year. 1300 rush yards, 27 touchdowns. He was a monster last week against Wenatchee in their win. They'll be looking to do that again tonight the defense led by Kaz Meltzer. He's got almost 15 Division 1 offers.

They've also got Watkins on the front line. The G Prep defensive line is going to try to do their best to get to the quarterback for Moses Lake, Brock Clark tonight. Elsewhere we are in the mid to low 40s here at Gonzaga Prep. It has been rainy, it has been gray all day, so we have a cold and frigid and wet evening here at G Prep. That should make for some interesting passing for the Chiefs coming out of the spread shotgun tonight.

Happy to be joined here on the pregame show by Dave Nichols, the illustrious beat writer from the Spokane Spokesman Review in the Prep section.

Dave, let's talk a little bit about what we are seeing tonight. Moses Lake is usually not a scrub. They've got a pretty strong offense. What do you think we're seeing tonight? Well, you know this is a tough matchup for both teams, right?

You know, Gonzaga Prep kind of. We can talk about this a little later. Probably thinks they ought to be seated heighter and playing a weaker opponent in week one. Moses Lake has had a kind of a strange season. They didn't get off to a really good start.

Played a couple of Idaho teams and had some varying degrees of success there, but then kind of got rolling once league got came on and they've been playing much better of late. Like you said, Moses Lake's got a great tradition. So does Gonzaga Prep. I think we're gonna have a pretty good ballgame tonight. Elsewhere around the area and around the state you've been kind of locked in on some of the 1A.

Tell us what you're watching tonight. Yeah, sure. So. So Lakeside and Riverside both have home games tonight. Freeman's got to go on the road.

Lakeside is hosting OMAC out at Union Stadium tonight. OMAC out of the the Caribou Trail League. Three of the four Northeast A teams that that qualified for the crossovers got through to State. So it's been a good year for 1A. I think they all deserve to be in state and and they're all in play tonight.

Here with Dave Nichols from the Spokane Spokesman Review Prep section in Dave, your article this week that had me kind of perking my ears up and kind of let social media abuzz on Twitter as well as your article about Gonzaga Prep in a lot of ways, getting snubbed. If you looked at the the Max Preps rankings or the Seattle Times rankings throughout the end of the regular season, G Prep was up there at number three or number four. They got bounced down to number six. So why was that? Well, it's a good question.

You know, the seating committees take a lot of things into consideration. The rpi, one of those things. My beef is that if it's only one of the things that they're considering, then they shouldn't be publicizing it as much as they do. They make a big deal of it every week when they release them with the fancy graphics and everything on Twitter. And then when it comes to seeding, they kind of ignored it, you know, and the other part of it is kind of like the College Football Playoff, actually.

Yeah. And the other part of it is it's one part of the equation, but they don't tell you the rest of the equation. There's no place on their website, there's no place in media where they tell you the rest of the parameters. Also not unlike the college football playoffs. Exactly.

Exactly. So, you know, you're talking about the difference between three and six, and you're just thinking, oh, you know, big deal. What's the big deal there? But when you're talking about state playoffs and you're talking about facing a 10 or 11 seed against a 14 or 15 seed, that's a big deal. And I just think it's not only Gonzaga Prep.

I think if you look up and down the Eastern, the Eastern Washington teams, I think all of them, you can see that they are seated lower than what their RPI was. So it's one part of the equation. I'd like to know what the rest of the equation is. Wouldn't we all? There goes Dave Nichols, the illustrious beat writer from the Prep section of the Spokane Spokesman Review.

Time to take a look at what's happening around the rest of the Greater Spokane League tonight as we enter the playoffs in 3am out.

Spokane is on the road at Arlington in 2A a couple of fun games. East Valley is at Tumwater and also happen to see Shadow park doing big things there at North. Get Zapp. Shadow had to play on Saturdays pretty much every week during the regular season. Nice to see them finally having something fun to do on Friday night.

So Mount Spokane, East Valley, and Shadow park in action tonight out of the GSL as we head into the rest of the playoffs. All right, back here on the pregame show, time to bring in our former Eastern Washington football star safety to Hante Hayes. Dehante. So here we go. G Prep, Moses Lake, first round of the playoffs.

What are the keys to the game? Well, for Moses Lake, they're going to have to be disciplined on defense, contain this triple option attack. On offense, they got to score every time they touch the ball. And that's a little McKenna who had a huge game last week. They have to spy him for G Prep.

They're gonna have to keep their offense on the field, on the tempo and score as much as possible. And the DBs have to step it up against the spread, no huddle offense that you normally don't see in high school. No, that's exactly right. So Moses Lake does run a spread, no huddle. They like to pass.

They pass a little bit more than 50% of the time, but they have a balanced attack for the Chiefs. Here's the thing, though. G Prep picked off a UCLA court committed quarterback a couple of times last week. I feel like they're up to the challenge. Oh, yeah, they picked him off effortlessly.

The DBs played great, and if the ball was in the air, they were definitely attacking it. So let's talk a little bit about what you saw to Ryan McKenna last week. Speaking of your keys to the game here, you said they got to let him cook. Last week was the first time you've seen Ryan McKenna in person. How impressed were you?

I was very impressed. He came out here, he had four full. He had a lot of speed, a lot of heart, grit. He played all the way from the start of the game to the end of the game. He caught the, the opening kickoff and took it.

I didn't even know as a quarterback when he first caught it. He looked so good with the ball in his hands, and he was definitely, definitely impressive. And what you think about the G Prep defensive line? You just talked about them a minute ago. They were a force.

They held everything down. They were making it to where they control the game in the tempo. They were getting really good knockbacks on the offensive line and made it to where this quarterback was not able to do nothing last week. All right, so that is the keys to the game. At the top of the hour, it's Gonzaga Prep and Moses lake in the first round of the 4A WIAA playoffs. Greg Talbot and former eastern start A Hunter Hayes with you here as we get ready to bring you kickoff here in a little while. But first let's get to our starting lineups tonight. We will begin with the visiting Moses Lake Chiefs out of kind of the middle of the state, the 4A division. They're on a five game winning streak and here's their starting lineups.

The quarterback, Brock Clark is a really physical guy, 6ft tall, 190 pounds. The junior, he's also an all state wrestler. So that'll tell you what kind of quarterback he is. Running back getting the start there. Smart.

The smaller of the two, Sergio Guzman, although they do have a six foot running back who also gets carries. We'll talk about him in a couple of minutes. They start four wide receivers. Joel Middleton, Kyson Thomas, Asher Lindgren and Hayden Throneberry, all about six feet tall. And the offensive line is starting to get looks from smaller colleges.

Austin Kearns, David Ariza, Zach Ryer, Ethan Sands and Camden Stout. And here's a look at the Chiefs defense, the defensive line, Zach Ryer, Camden Stout as well, along with tell Rathburn. They put three down as a 34 defense. Linebackers Jacob Good, Marcus Duvall, Jordan Nelson and Jackson purcell. And their DBs.

Sound familiar? A lot of them are wide receivers. Kyson Thomas, Hayden Throneberry, both of those guys. Starting receivers Walker Wittis and Seth Olson. There are your starting lineup there for the Moses Lake Chiefs.

All right, the Hunter Hayes. Who are you watching tonight for the Chiefs and why? Well, the key players that I have down here for Moses Legg is going to have to be quarterback Brock Clark. Of course the quarterback has to have a huge game tonight and I put the entire alignment down. They're going to have to really handle this defensive line for for G Prep and really control the entire game.

They have. They all have small college interests, so it's going to be something that the game is going to be in their hands. Well, what's going to be really interesting to watch too is because Gonzaga Prep really doesn't need to blitz because when you have Watkins and Mills around the D line, you can get pressure with three or four.

Yeah, you don't need to blitz when you have a D line that's getting knocked back the way they are. And Brock Clark's got a big task ahead of him tonight in case you weren't with us last week. The Gijuana defensive backs, they picked off. JP Zamora, the Gijuana quarterback who's committed to UCLA. They picked them off, I think three times.

So those DBs are the truth. Yeah, the turnovers were huge for the. For this G prep defense. So this. If this quarterback does.

If quarterback Brock Clark does not handle it tonight, there will be another round. Two of that. And let's take a look at the Gonzaga prep starting lineup tonight. On offense, these are names that you know. Ryan McKenna, the starting QB, he's been phenomenal this year, over 25 touchdowns.

Lilo McKelsie, running back, along with Nick Binky and Sam Oman, they've got three or four who take regular carries. At wide receiver, the usual suspects, Dylan o' Keefe and Bo Howell. In the line, Mitch Swinsky, Tim McCann, Patrick Riley, Drake Watko and Nick McCann. And here's the defense for the Bullpups. Kevin Kiernan at backer, Ephraim Watkins at tackle, along with Luke Miller and Kaz Meltzer.

That's the starting D line. Linebackers, Luciano Reynolds and Jackson crocker. And the DB is Gregory Flynn. Junas McGraw, the second, had an interception a couple of weeks ago. Matthew Benson, Jin Woo Choi, trying to get interest from colleges, which is starting to come at db.

And Ryan Jackson. All right, so Dante, who are we watching for the Bullpups? And so today we're gonna be watching Ryan McKenna. Of course, none other than Ryan McKenna. Bo Howell, who we didn't see too much of last week, but I expect him to have a good night tonight.

And Cass Melzer, who had a near flawless game last week. It looked really, really looked like he was sound and his IQ was very high for being in high school. So we've been talking the last couple weeks about college offers. Kaz Meltzer's getting, has a couple from the Big sky, has a lot from the Ivy Leagues. He picked up another couple offers here in the last couple days, one of which is New Mexico.

That is one of the bigger, non Big sky offers he's picked up. Yeah, I'm not. I'm not surprised at all considering I watched him last week. I was really keen. The just the things he was doing, the way he was buzzing the flat, the way he was scraping the line of scrimmage, and the way he was able to come downhill, make big plays.

And I must say, he's a really good player. As a former star safety in the Big sky, how would he fit on a Big sky defense? He reminds me a lot of a DN that we have right now called Mitch Johnson, Mitchell Johnson. He's a big, big, big guy, plays really smart, came in as a freshman and made an instant impact. I could see him being that type of guy for the next year.

Cass could do that in the Big Sky. Oh yeah, for sure. Love to hear it. All right, so those are our players to watch in the starting lineups tonight and we're back when Just a second with our predictions and wrap up thoughts here on the pregame show. And welcome back to the pregame show. Greg Talbot and former Eastern Washington football star to Hansa Hayes taking up until kickoff in just a couple of minutes between the Gonzaga Prep Bullpups and the Moses Lake Chiefs in the first round of the four AWIAA playoffs. Let's set the scene for you just one more time before we kick this thing off. Moses Lake 60 in their league this year, 7 and 3 overall. More importantly, they're on a five game winning streak, they're playing very well and they are playing hot.

Although there aren't that many teams hotter in the state of Washington period than the Gonzaga Prep Bullpups right now. During a lot of the season they were ranked as high as number three or number four. But as we head into the playoffs this week they are ranked number six which means it's a harder game for them tonight. Although looking at their record they should still win 110 overall. 9.

0 in the Greater Spokane League. Knocked off Chiwano by 20 points last week in the crossover game of course operated in the under the tutelage of 14th year head coach Dave McKenna. All right, Deontay Hayes, let's talk about our wrap up thoughts. So we have talked about the offense for both teams. We've talked about the defense and the stars for both teams.

You were just noting during the commercial break though, the conditions out there, it's wet, it's rainy. You said the ball looks wet. How's that going to affect both offenses? That's the most interesting thing for this G Prep school. Our team right here last week was very wet, windy.

It was an interesting type of game game atmosphere. However, they were still able to counter off those things and make it happen. They come out here the way they did last week. I can see them having enough a flawless game and they're going to run this one home. Now the issue with Gonzaga Prep is they've been so good at pretty much everything this year.

But even just the second half of the season, the games we broadcast on the radio, they have not made it through one game without at least one botched pitch on the option. That often results in a turnover. You cannot do that in the playoffs. Yeah, you really can't do that. And that was something that we've seen last week.

Ryan McInnes tends to want to run the ball so much that sometimes he puts himself into an interesting situation to where he feels like he has to pitch it because there's so many guys around him. But sometimes you, you just have to tuck it and say, all right, I'm going to keep this one. That was the issue last week. Late pitch guy wasn't ready and it was a fumble. This is the coldest, rainiest night we've had of the season so far.

Do you think they're going to try to pass tonight? I don't think they're going to try and pass. I think what they're going to do is lull them to sleep running the triple option for a few plays. And as they think that they're going to go ahead and run it again, they're going to toss it over to middle to the tight end. It's going to be another touchdown.

That's. That was the kind of the game plan for them last week and it worked flawlessly. Certainly worked against shoe on out of the Tri Cities. All right, so that's our wrap up. Let's talk about predictions.

This is a harder first round game than Gonzaga Prep was thinking they were going to get. Harder a first round game than they were hoping for. What are we going to see tonight to hante? Well, normally on the guy who usually goes for the underdogs because I normally come in and I'm not too, too sure of what to expect from either team just based off of the records. That's it.

But however, the. With the way I seen G Prep come out here last week, the way they started off the game, how, how good and sound and disciplined of a team they are, I'm gonna have to go with the G Prep bullpups. And by how much do you think it's gonna be? Probably by 14 points, two touchdowns. Yep.

I'll take that. That sounds about right to me. So it's Moses Lake and Gonzaga Prep and Moses Lake is on the far side of the field in their maroon pants, maroon helmets and white jerseys with red and yellow trim. Gonzaga Prep honoring our veterans tonight. Their traditional white helmets with navy crosses is red, white and blue tonight.

That's beautiful. And then traditional navy and white uniforms elsewhere. They're at midfield doing their huddle and that means it's time for us to take one more commercial break here on the pregame show and then we are back with kickoff for tonight's game in just a minute. Hayes getting ready to take you up until kickoff here between the Gonzaga Prep Bullpups and the Moses Lake Chiefs. We just found out that this game is also on TV tonight, the Hanse.

So kickoff is going to take a couple minutes more than usual. So as we get ready to take our TV commercial break here while we stay here, talk to us a little bit about what we are seeing right now in the Eastern Washington football program, we saw resignation middle of the week by the offensive coordinator right before a huge game tomorrow that you can hear right here on this very radio station against UC Davis. So you're obviously still plugged into the program, what's happening right now. Yeah, it's a very unfortunate situation, especially being that this office coordinator has been there a few years now. He's getting very accustomed to the offense, the the team, to the players.

It's always sad and sucks to see a good coach and someone step away from the program. However, this is going to have to be something that Eastern is going to have to get over really soon because they're coming off a two game losing streak right now. And if they want to be able to change that, they're going to get some very good UC Davis team. So going into this game tomorrow, I'm hoping that they're able to make these adjustments quick and easy. With Pat McCann stepping into that position, it is really tough.

I've always imagined. You tell me you're the one who played big time college football. It always struck me as difficult to lose a coach in the middle of the season because that's vibe, that's vision. What is it like to lose an important coach before the season's done, given it that I've never actually lost a coach during. I lost a couple of coaches.

I mean after, I mean shoot. Bo Balman left right after, right after our season back in 2016 we lost Jeff Smedding, who was my defensive coordinator and safeties coach. It's always hard to lose the coach because you build a bond or the reason why you go to that school. There's the reason why you play so hard because they trust in you, they put you on the field. Losing those coaches sometimes can definitely be detrimental to the team.

How does it affect individual or team psyche? It can change a lot because you never know how close someone could be with that. The offensive coordinator, Coach Shoemaker, with him leaving, you don't know how close Eric Barrier was with him. They could have had something that made it to where Coach Shoemaker felt comfortable calling certain plays because they knew he would excel in those positions. Having somebody else step in there can change it for the whole team.

And the extra difficult thing about this is UC Davis has only lost one game this year. This is the biggest game that they're going to have now until the playoffs after what happened against Montana State last week. Tomorrow is no joke. So what has everyone been saying and Cheney this week about this game. This game is a win or go home type of game.

We have been struggling to get into the playoffs because the playoffs are not given. There's something that we have to go to a poll, they have to do a voting. They do all that right. And given that we're putting into the hands of the voters is definitely going to change the way that they're going into this game tomorrow. Tomorrow is a win or go home game because they're on a two game losing streak.

They have to break that losing streak and make a statement within this game tomorrow. And you can hear it right on this very radio station on the Eagle Radio network from Learfield right here on 700 ESPN 105. 3 FM. We just wrapped up the national anthem and we are just about ready for kickoff here. Now between the number six ranked technically even though they're certainly better than that ranking Gonzaga Prep bullpups and the Moses Lake Chiefs coming over from the middle part of the state.

Dahonte, in the pregame show you said about a two or three touchdown win for G Prep. Tell me why. The reason why I said that is because I think Moses Lake, even though they're on this, this five game win streak, they're gonna come out here with a little bit of fuel underneath them. They just drift. Jadis had a drive here.

They're ready to go. They were out here really, really early getting ready and I think that that might help them come into this game on fire. Now I was told the Chiefs pulled up here to g prep around 4:15, almost three hours before game time. That's not normal. No, that's not normal at all.

And when I got here was around 05:35:40 ish and they were ready on the field and they barely left around 6:20. So they're on the field getting polished and ready to go. I think they're gonna come out here ready to to make a statement and that's the reason why I think that it's going to be a close game. But with the way G Prep played last week, it's going to be really hard for me to say that mostly is going to come out here and beat him. And out to the field come the Gonzaga Prep bullpups in their classic navy and white uniforms, white helmets with red, white and blue crosses on them tonight because it was Veterans Day yesterday so that's what they're celebrating.

They're in maroon pants, maroon helmets, white jerseys with red trim. And back to receive, Joel Middleton, one of their smaller receivers. Five foot ten, 160 pounds, the sophomore. And out comes Gonzaga Prep in their navy and white uniforms. They'll be kicking this one left to right across your radio dial.

The right foot is into it at the 40 yard line. And here we go. That kick is back to around the 10 yard line. It's recovered by Middleton. He sprints around the right sideline now comes back up middle between the hash marks.

Tackled around the 25, falls forward to the 26. And that's where Moses like takes over to Hanse. Not a bad return, Not a bad return at all. And I see that they faked that reverse. So going into this game, if G Prep kicks it a couple more times, I could see them definitely giving that reverse off and it being something that gets them some yards.

All right, so here come those Lake Chiefs for their first drive on offense tonight, led by the junior quarterback, Brock Clark. The righty, 6ft tall, 185 pounds, he's a thick guy, he's an all state wrestler, a very physical quarterback. And he starts this game with three receivers off to his left and Tudors right. Now he puts Middleton in motion, takes a high snap and hands it off on the jet sweep to Joel Middleton, who just returned the kick. He goes left to right on the jet sweep.

Got back to the line of scrimmage, tried to get to the sideline, taken down for no gain. And that's just the identity that this gpress defense has definitely created for themselves. Making runs and stuff like that go for no yards. Those linebackers were really exceptional last week against Chiji. What did you see out of them that you liked?

They were just very disciplined and able to make plays that controlled the game the entire time. This defense was unstoppable. All right, so no gain on the play. Second down and 10 here for Mosa Lake on their opening drive. Four receivers to the left side of the quarterback, Brock Clark.

Now he puts Asher Lindgren, the slot man in motion. He drops back, plenty of time to throw. Bolted over the middle. And Lindren's got it at the 35 yard line, up to the 40, chase out of bounds, around the far side, 45 for a huge gain of almost 20 yards. That are David orthodontics.

First down. Yeah, I'm impressed by this offensive line too. I can see one of the main keys was for them to be able to put their foot in the ground and hold this defensive line. Defense line is fighting to get through. They just gave Brock Clark a good five seconds to throw.

Definitely that's what he needs. That's what he's going to need. All right, she responds to the left here for Clark and three to the right. And a wide open set here for the junior quarterback. Puts a man in motion.

G Prep looks like they'll bring blitz from the linebackers. And they do. It's a handoff up the middle on the jet sweep from Lindgren. He's got up to about the 50 yard line for a gain of almost 5 yards. This is the start that Moses like needs.

They need to control this game and score when they have the ball. And they're doing exactly the keys right now that we put down is exactly what's going on. Second and five here for Moses Lake. About a minute and a half into this game and they are looking really good on offense so far. Three receivers off to the right here for block Clark.

Two to the left. Two deep safeties back for Gonzaga Prep. Good snap right to Clark. Looks left, looks right. Pressure coming.

Dumps it off to the near side on a little screen. Pass to Kyson Thomas. It's off his hands. Incomplete. So this will be a big third down and five.

Yeah, this is a big one. And I think that that drop there was a. Was a good business idea because if you would have caught that, he had about 4G prep guys right there and in his face. So good idea there. So this will stop the clock.

For the first time, Moses Lake is a spread, no huddle team, so they move fast. And here they come, G Prep. Lot of DBs back there. Only a couple down on the line. Here comes the snap.

The Clark drops back, steps up in the pocket, throws it down the right sideline off the hands of Asher Lindgren, who tried to climb the ladder. Bounced off his hands in the middle of the secondary. Pass falls to the ground in complete fourth down coming up. Moments like this is where we talk about the weather. That ball, like I said during the pregame warm ups, it was looking a little bit wet.

And that was a catchable ball right there that he should have came down with. Moses Lake is keeping their offense on the field here on their first drive. On fourth down and five. Question is, are they actually going to go for it? Open back heel.

He'll hear for Clark. Three receivers to his left and two to his right. He takes the snap. They're going to go for it on fourth down. It's a drop play.

He runs off to the right side. He didn't get it. The G Prep defense comes up big. They force a turnover on fourth down. That's a huge stop right there by the G Prep defense.

And that's what the gpread defense needs for sure. Running to that right side is not going to be possible with with Katz Meltzer over there. He's going to make sure that nothing goes crazy over there. 90 seconds into this game. 10:30 to go in the first quarter.

Already a lot happening. A couple of first downs for Moses Lake Electric offense and then to go for it on fourth down. They don't get it. It's a turnover. And Gonzaga Prep takes over now from their own 48 yard line on the left side of the 50.

And out comes Ryan McKenna with that blonde hair hanging all the way down to his shoulders. On first down and 10 he fakes a handoff, gets up past the 50 to the Moses Lake 45 for gain of six. And he's starting this game off exactly the way he ended the last one. I'd love to see it. So last time last week against you on it was your first game watching Ryan McKenna as a former Big sky safety, what'd you like out of of him?

I like just how hard he was running, how hard he was working. He came out here ready just to make plays and just keep on going. He carried the ball so many times and made a lot of good plays. Second down and three for G Prep. Still no score.

Now the bullpups on their first drive of the game. Turning handoff up the middle to Matt Sac. Amano, he's been really good the last couple of weeks. He gets up to the 40 and that's a Neman Orthodontics. First down.

What'd you think of the G Prep 3 headed monster running back between Sakamono, McKelsey and Banky. I thought they could have been utilized a lot more. They weren't utilized that much. McKenna kept the ball a lot of times throughout that game last week and he will keep it here on a fake handoff. Keeps it himself, gets up to the 39 yard line, drop for maybe a gain of one.

And you can hear the Moses like cheerleaders here on our crowd microphone. The I'll tell you what, Moses came with a lot of fans tonight. This is the biggest away student section we have seen at a G Prep game this year. Yeah, I agree. There's a Lot of fans here wearing that burgundy, good looking uniforms.

Second down or nine, Only one safety here for Moses Lake on defense on the right side of the ball. They'll run the option pitch to the near side. That's Nick Binky, their big running back. He's past the 35 to the 30, down toward the 25 yard line on the far side of the field. Really successful option to their big running back.

That's anyone Orthodontics. First down. Yes, a big time player there in that, but that's that pitch that we're talking about. We got to make sure that they go ahead and get that every single time his pitch is caught because G Prep cannot afford any turnovers with the way Moses Lake came out today. No score here.

Three minutes into this game, nine minutes to go in the first quarter, but Gonzaga Prep now down to the Moses Lake 29 yard line on the right side of the 50. Driving left to right, trying to score on their first drive. Here's a snap right to Mechanic. Fakes a handoff, keeps it himself, runs around the left side. Maybe a gain at one or two on the play.

I think Moses Lake was spying. Him and Dante, they were ready. Yeah, that's what they, that's just what they're gonna have to do is spy spy Ryan McKenna the whole entire game because he's their biggest piece of this offense. Without him, they're not gonna be able to operate the same. Now you've played option teams, I imagine sometime in your college career.

What's the key to defending a triple option on defense? Offense, you just really have to be disciplined to have your eyes right. Every person should be locked on their, on their key guy. And if you don't, then that's when the whole defense starts to fall apart and they, they're able to make big plays. So the quarterback, number 11, Ryan McKenna, looks to the left sideline to get the sign from his dad, the head coach, Dave McKenna, in his 14th year here at Gonzaga Prep.

They feed it up the middle to Lilo McKelsey. He got up to the 27, maybe a gain of one. This is going to be a big third down and seven. A big issue for them last week was that they kept on getting false start penalties. And that's something that I think that may happen again if you watch this tight end that's lined up semi in the backfield, he's, he's moving before the ball is even hiking.

That was a huge issue for them last week. And as they come out of the Howell timeout, They've got their number one wide receiver, Bo how will split to the near side and one on one coverage. This might be something to look for here as G Prep comes out on third down and seven. No score here on their first drive. They hand it off up the middle.

That was to Nick Banky, their big running back. He didn't get very far. This is going to be fourth down and five. I say they just go for it here, stay sound and just do what they do. And I think they'll be able to up pick up this first down here.

Why do you think they should go for it? Because right now they're not able to stop this run. They're getting a few yards every time even though they're putting pressure and I think that they can get it. Here it is, fourth down and four. They're keeping their offense on the field.

Looks like the bullpups are going to go for it. They're going to snap it. It's McKenna keeping it himself. He gets up to the 15 yard line, falls forward between the linebackers and he got the name of orthodontics. First down on fourth.

Yeah. The coach knows when in doubt, put the ball in Ryan McKenna's hand and that's what we're seeing here tonight. He's going to trust your son, right? That's the guy who trusts. I would trust him too with the way he's been running this ball.

They're not really able to stop it right now. Ryan McKenna's been on rail this year. 18 rush touchdowns, nine pass touchdowns, 1350 rushing yards. Here it comes on first down. He gives up the middle to Matt Sac Amato.

He sheds A linebacker. The 5. Touchdown G Prep. Oh, boy. He should have been tackled on the line of scrimmage.

He punched a linebacker in the shoulder and took it in from almost 15 yards out. Yeah, there's about three guys right there who thought that Ryan McKenna had the ball and he was able to go in untouched and looking real nice in the end zone. Wow. Matt Sac amount of. That's a heck of a way to start the game.

Seven minutes to go in the first quarter. G Prep strikes on their first drive of the game. Your STCU touchdown drive recap. That was 51 yards in just a couple of minutes. The field goal is up.

Yeah, it looked like Moses Lake was trying to do something that they're a little bit not used to doing and right there resulted in a turnover. The ball was not in anyone's hand. It was just bouncing around off players. Huge time play there from Gonzaga Prep. So Gonzaga Prep takes it from 00 as they send out their PAT unit here to make it 14 0.

So they put up 00 to 140 in the course of what, like 15 seconds of game time. And that's the hardest part about playing against this team is that you have to score when you have the ball and right now they've had the ball for two possessions. Oh my. They've already had two possessions with no scores and so they keep on giving G prep. This big of a cushion is going to get real ugly real soon. Now Moses Lake looks really good on their first drive of the game until they went for it on fourth down and failed.

They just got a got a good drive here and they start from their 20. Here comes this now Clark turns and hands off up the middle to Sergio Guzman. His first touch of the night. He's up to the 23 between the tackles for a gain of three yards. Guzman is their smaller, faster running back, kind of a scat back.

And I'll tell you what, this Moses Lake huge crowd here to Hansen got quiet quick. Yeah, that's what happens when you start off. 00 to 140 that quick. 00 to 140 in a matter of seconds for the ball pipe play action here on second down. Bullet pass over the middle caught by Asher Lindgren past the 40 yard line, up the 45 deep into the secondary.

And that's a huge demon. Orthodontics first down at a gain of almost 20. Yeah, I'm very glad to come back to that play because earlier they ran that same one and he dropped it actually wanna on fourth down. So I'm glad they came back to again another chance. And he picked up that many yards.

I'll tell you what, though, Brock Clark, the most like quarterback. He's getting good time.

Yeah, he's getting a lot of time back there in the pocket, which can definitely hurt them if they get some good shots deep. Another open wide. Look here for Moses Lake. Three receivers to the right for clock to the left. They put a man in motion.

He surveys the defense, gets the snap around the waist, steps up, throws over the middle. It's hauled in again on another big pass over the middle. This time it's Hayden Throneberry, his first catch of the night. He's across the 50. Down to the Gonzaga Prep 35 for Damon Orthodontics.

First down. I say if most Lake continues to throw these passes that are hitting these little hole shots at that is within the zone, they can definitely take control of this game. All right, so here comes Moses Lake. They're still down to 14 nothing here midway through the first quarter, but their offense is starting to cook. Oh, yeah, they're definitely trying to click and put it together.

That is a look Gonzaga Prep definitely has not seen so far this year. They put a man in motion.

In relation to that four by one set that they're coming out. And that's very impressive to see a high school team come out of that.

Never see it. I didn't start seeing that to around my junior year at Eastern. That was when I started seeing teams do that. And it's something that's becoming very popular. And even for a college guy, that thing was.

It was very hard to cover. Is that tough to guard as a defense? Yeah, it's. It's very hard because there's always one of those guys can't go out for a pass, and I doubt G Prep knows that. 305 to go here in the first quarter.

Gonzaga Prep up 14. Nothing on Moses Lake, but the Chiefs are driving down at their 26 yard line at second and 10. Here comes a snap to Clark. Four wide receivers to the right. He steps up, he's taken down.

It's Watkins with a sack. But a flag comes in. That was the first time that we seen some good pressure and all four guys were able to get off the line there and be right in his face. So wouldn't be surprised if they get a holding call here. Holding call in a sack.

That's the worst of both worlds. Yeah, just take them on back. Let's see what the referees have to say. Referees talking to both coaches, including Brett J. The coach of the Chiefs.

As you can hear, Moses Lake. Not only do they bring their cheerleaders, they also brought their band tonight and a nice big crowd as well for this first round playoff game. Yeah, the momentum starting to shift a little bit. Even though it's a 14. 0 run, I mean, still the first quarter to anything can happen.

There's still a lot of game to play. All right, they waved off the flag. No penalty on the play. It's third down and 13 after the sack of Brock Clark. Three receivers to the right, two to the left here for Clark.

Takes a look at the defense and zone cover for G Prep. And here comes the snap. Draw drops back, takes a look to the right. Heavy pressure running out of bounds along the sideline. Short gain on the play, if any.

G Prep's defense locked him down. This will be fourth down and almost 11 from out the 26. This has got to be go for it territory. I don't like a field goal from here. It is go forward territory, but it's very unfortunate.

They went forward earlier because they needed to get all the points possible and instead they gave G Prep really, really good field position. And I'm hoping that this time they're able to pick up the 11 yards and get the first down here. 233 to go here in the first quarter. Gonzaga Prep already up 14 nothing on Moses Lake after a touchdown run on a scoop and score. Then on defense.

So the Chiefs are gonna go for it. Fourth down and 12, a four wide receiver. Look here for Clark now five after they put one in motion. Plenty of time. Steps up in the pocket, runs out to the right, tries to take it along the sideline.

He's dropped. Got about five yards out of it. Not enough Moses Prep. Moses Lake has gone for it twice on defense. They do not get it either time.

It's a turnover on downs. Even though it's a turnover on downs here, it still gives G Prep not the best field position to come out of. So they still have to drive the length of the field. And we have a whistle on the field. Teams are going to the sideline.

So I'm guessing this is a TV timeout. This is unfortunately some of the rules of the road when it comes to TV and radio being on the broadcast at the same time. Gonzaga Prep with 227 to go in the first quarter Deontay. So we saw a slow start for Moses Lake. All of a sudden they looked really good on that drive. Clearly they do not have a field goal kicker that they trust or else they would have tried to get some points there. Yeah, points there was definitely necessary to try and cut into this 140 lead.

However, their offense is starting to get it rolling. If they can get a couple more possessions to where they can hold, maybe hold you prep to put their foot on the ball and not have to score, then they can get back into this one. But if G Prep scores here is going to be a long day for them. And you tell me because you're the former college safety. I am a scrub and a broadcaster.

Gonzaga Prep, we saw them run a little bit of zone once they started to go to those slant patterns so often that looked to help. Yeah, the zone did look to help but sometimes they were running. The quarterback was faking a zone or a play action when there was no running back there. So sometimes that can definitely hurt him. But these zones, they're able to hit and right in the holes of this G Prep defense.

So if they keep on doing that, I say they could score. All right, so after the G Prep bullpups come out on the field, the TV timeout is over and we are back. G Prep takes over from their own 21 yard line on the left side of the 50. Here comes a snap to Ryan McKenna. They'll run an option to the left side.

Pitch to Lilo McKelsey. He's got a short gain along the left side. Hash mark. It looked like a flat came in, but the referee appears to have called it off. So gain a three on the plan.

We'll keep going. Yeah, there's also a kid back there throwing the football up in the air, which makes it look like there's a flag, too. So that's something that we have to look out for. Two minutes on the clock here in the first quarter. 14 nothing.

G prep. And now second down and eight here for the bullpups on offense. They'll run a pitch along the left side on the option. This is Nick Banky down the left sideline. The 40.

The 50. 50. The 45. The 40. He's in the open field.

Down to the Moses Lake. 30 to 25 and taken down. Oh, my. A huge gain. They flipped the field on a massive David Orthodontics first down.

Yeah, that's a huge gain. And great blocking all around. I mean, every single person on this G Prep offense was blocking. For him to be able to pick up that many yards, that's. That's what you like to see.

Even downfield, you had wide receivers just pushing the corners all the way down. Nick Banky is their big running back. Six foot one, 220 pounds, and he runs like a gazelle. Yeah, he runs like a beast. I was just getting ready to say that, too.

And they go back to him here up the middle for a gain of two. So second down and eight coming up. And this clock will run here down inside. 130 to go in the first quarter. Still 14 nothing.

G Prep. And now they're getting really close to the Moses Lake red zone. Yet again. They're down to the 23. Yeah, earlier you asked me, like, how would I be able to, like, what should I see from this defense?

So what has to happen on that is that this safety, this backside safety has to scrape, scrape across the back and be able to make that play to where he doesn't pick up that Many yards. Hand off at the Middle to Lilo McKelsey. Cuts to the left side. Ten five. Touchdown.

And that's exactly what I was just talking about. This backside safety, he's guarding no one. If he was to scrape over, he'll be able to make that tackle. There's no one there to even guard him. He's.

Every time they hand that off, he's going to be able to get plenty of yards. Exactly one minute to go in the first quarter. 20 to nothing, Gonzaga Prep. All right. This might be a long night for the Chief.

That's what it's looking like right now. If they don't put some points on the board soon. G Prep is rolling. Man, oh man, Moses Lake looked great on their first drive. Since then, it's been all bullpups.

The kick is up, it is good, and it is 21 nothing with a minute to go here in the first quarter. Okay, so we talked the pregame show to Hante, to Dave Nichols, the beat writer for the Prep section here in the Spokesman Review newspaper. He said the Gonzaga prepared Prep fans were a little bit unhappy, as was the program, about having to play an 11 seed because they felt they were under seated. I think G Prep looks like they won that argument tonight so far. Yeah.

It's a little bit interesting to me to see that they're ranked number six right now. I don't really think that there's five other teams that are better than him, than them. So is that west side bias? What do you think it is? It must be a West side type of thing.

I mean, there is some really good schools on the west side, so I don't want to knock any of them, but I'm just really just looking at this team and how sound they are. They're, they're doing it on all, on all facets of the game, on whether it's special teams, defense or offense. They're excelling on all those and it's looking really good. I, I, I was very interested to see that they're number five, but I would not be surprised if they jump up a lot after tonight's game. 21 nothing.

Gonzaga Prep here with a minute to go in the first quarter. Usually G Prep games kind of fly by because of the option, but Moses Lake has been an offense and they pass a lot for a lot of this first quarter. Also three touchdowns and a lot of commercial breaks. So we're half an hour in. This has been a pretty long first quarter by G Prep standards.

Here comes the kickoff. Right to left. Left to right, rather across your radio dial. Bring it up along the left side hash mark is Joel Middleton. He's up to the 20, the 30 out of bounds around the 32 on the near sideline.

I must say he's getting some good returns here. The last three returns have been nice. The last one wasn't the best, but this one was pretty good too. He's getting. He's putting his team into some good yard as I hate to see him limping right now because they need every one they can get.

But on as a kickoff returner, he's doing pretty good. And it was pushed out of bounds at the 32 yard line. So Moses Lake takes over from their own 32 on the right side of the 50. Left side hash mark. 55 seconds to go in the first quarter.

Already down three touchdowns. The weird thing though to haunt their offense is the looked really good. Yeah, the office is not looking bad at all. It's just that they're not able to convert on these fourth downs. That's what's hurting them the most.

Certainly is. So out comes their offense again, which has been looking, like we said, awfully good tonight. Brock Clark, the quarterback drops back plenty of time, dumps it off on the right side to Guzman on a swing route. He's up to the 35, still on his feet toward the 40 and got almost 10 yards. Yeah, that was a good.

That was yards after, after contact too there. There's about three guys who touched him right there who didn't bring him down, so that's not it Looks like they were going for a strip there and that resulted in him getting some extra yards. Got nine yards on the play. This will be second down and one for Moses Lake with 25 seconds to go in the first quarter. G Prep already up three touchdowns, it's 21 nothing and outcome.

The Chiefs here with three receivers to the left and two to the right of the right. Headed quarterback Brock Clark drops back. Pressure coming, throws over the middle off the hands of his wide receiver dropped by Hayden Throne Bear. You can tell how strong this quarterback Brock is because he sat in the pocket there, seen a guy coming right at him and was able to take that contact and knew the contact was coming and still delivered a good ball.

That was very catchable. Third down and one for the Moses Lake Chiefs with 13 seconds to go in the first quarter. This is a big play. Got to keep it going. Only one deep safety back on the left side of the 50 yard line for G Prep on defense.

Linebackers, come on. Third down and one. It's a handoff up the middle to Maddox Gwynn. His first handoff of the night. He's got a name in orthodontics.

First down. At least the Chiefs are being productive out there on offense. Just haven't found a way to score yet. Very productive. And I like the the range of plays that they're running.

They're running zones, they're running slants, they're running little inside dives. They're running a lot of different things here. And the clock hits zero. Yeah, they're not looking bad on office at all. They're completing passes, they're running, they're getting yards, they're doing anything they need to do. They're Just not converting on the three third and fourth downs. Because this defense from G Prep is so sound right now. They're not giving up anything.

And it's. That's just what type of defense they're bringing to this game. And when the bullpups have had the ball, good luck stopping them. Right. There's no stopping them right now.

They're able to do whatever they want, whenever they want with this ball. How much of that is McKenna? How much of that is the line? It's. It's all McKenna because they're keying him so much that when he hands it off, they don't even know that he has the ball.

Which is the hardest part about playing as a triple option team. Well, you played against plenty of triple options in your day. What's it like to prepare against a triple option team? It's honestly very easy. All you need to do is just stay very lateral and just scrape across the the formation.

So when every time they're handing this ball off, the backside safety has to scrape across the formation to be able to make this play. And as a former college player, what separates a good option team from a great option team? A good option team makes plays here and there and they're able to. But you know who the ball is going to. A great option is where everyone sells the fake and you have no idea who is has the ball.

All right, let's get analysis. All right, back we go to start the second quarter. First down and 10 for the Moses Lake Chiefs on their own 48 yard line on the left side of the 50. Their quarterback, Brock Clark had a pretty good first quarter. He's been very efficient.

He's only turned it over four times all year. He drops back. Here comes the birthright. And pressure pocket collapses. He steps up past the 45 yard line, down to the Gonzaga Prep 40 for a nice run.

A gain of almost 15 and an eight. Demon Orthodontics first down. And that's how you start the quarter. That's exactly how you start the quarter. There you come out, get a first down and let's say, let's go.

We're down 21 0, but the game is not over. Nice. Love that. The Moses Lake offense has looked pretty good. The defense could use some work.

The defense can use some work, but they are going against one of the best teams that I've seen. Yeah. And they're going against a triple option. So you broadcast a couple games this year. Is Gonzaga Prep the best team you've seen by your eyes, do you think Yeah, I haven't seen the team that I've broadcasted yet that can beat him, that's for sure.

All right, they're down to the G Prep 39 yard line. Handoff up the middle to Maddox Gwyn. His second carry, he got about to the, I don't know, 36 yard line for gain a two or three on the play. And that's just what they got to do is just keep on getting yards, keep on getting what they're giving them. G Prep is missing quite a few tackles right now.

And right now Moses Lake is able to counter off that well there you hear the Moses Lake cheerleaders on our crowd microphone. Like we said in case you're just joining us. Nice big, big crowd here for the Chiefs of Coma over for the game. Cheerleaders band on a big fan section, but unfortunately for them, they've come a long way. Their team is down three touchdowns.

Here it is on second and seven and Clark rolls out to the right as the pocket collapses. Throws to the near sideline at the 25 yard line. Pass hold in. Oh my. Hayden Throneberry.

What a catch of The G prep 22. Damn. Northern ontics, first down. Yeah, that's a big time catch there. Very impressive if I would say.

There's a little toe drag right there too as he's getting hit out of bounds. That's a good play right there. Quarterback was able to scramble out of pocket and complete that. That's nice. Yeah, that was really good looking as he came back down the sideline and kind of a ad lib button hook, right?

Oh, yeah, that was. I wasn't sure if he's going to throw it out or what. I didn't even see the wide receiver right there. That was great play. What is it like to guard a player who kind of does whatever he wants after a play breaks down?

It's very hard. You have to stay in coverage and just continue to run around because you don't know who is going to throw it. So he can throw it all the way back on the other side. Moses Lake down to the G Prep 22 after the name of orthodontics. First down, they feed it up the middle to Sergio Guzman.

He's inside the 20, down toward the 15 for gain of 5. I must say, this mosleg offense is coming out very aggressive. It's moving. Oh, yeah. Early second quarter, 10, 20 to go until halftime.

Gonzaga Prep up 21. Nothing but Moses Lake now for the first time tonight, down inside of the G Prep red zone on the Right side of the the 50. Yeah. And they look like their office taking a little bit control of this game, huh? And taking their time.

Four receivers to the left side for Brandon Clark and one to the near side. G Prep on defense. Only one deep safety back. Couple linebackers up looking like they will blitz. And they do.

Hand off up the middle to Guzman. He's met and bounced off a tackler. He's down to the 10 for named orthodontics. First down and knocks over a linebacker on his way out of bounds. He got down to the nine.

He wants the ball so bad. The ball didn't even touch Brock's hands. And he took it right out of his hands and just took off running. He wasn't even able to the snap. Didn't even get to get there.

And he took it and just ran. Bounced off his office alignment. Was able to run over a linebacker. That's a big time play from a small running back. Are the Moses Lake Chiefs down inside the G Prep 10 yard line for the first time tonight.

Four receivers split to the left side of the field for Clark and one of the near side. He's all alone in the backfield. G Prep only puts four down on the line. Everyone else is back in coverage. Man in motion.

Clark drops back, throws left corner of the end zone. One on one coverage off the hands of Throneberry. He went back to him after a good catch a minute ago. And we have some laundry on the field at the offensive line. There's a flag down.

Wonder what that's going to be. Holding, right? That's what it's looking like. It was a very quick call too. So the hole must have happened right when the ball was high.

Moses Lake's offense is moving back toward the left. This is going to be pushed back. Bummer for them after has how good this drive has been. We're going to march this one back down to man. They're going to push this thing around the 21 yard line.

22 yard line. There was a hold penalty at just about 10 yards. Referees are marking this one to the 20 yard line. So first down and goal now from the 20 longer way to go now for the Chiefs. Only one deep safety back for G Prep playing at the five yard line.

And here's a snap to Clark. Down to the knees, Steps up, throws back for the end zone again. Left side again. It's one on one coverage. Hold in.

Touchdown Chiefs. It's Case and Thomas. His third catch of the night. That's how you end a drive right there. That's great catch there.

50, 50 ball. Quarterback throws it back. Shoulder. Nice. That's huge.

That's a big. That's how you come out and start the quarter off, especially when you're down 21 0. Nice. Really, really excellent one on one coverage. That's why it took a minute for us to kind of make the call there to Hansi because you couldn't really see if he had the ball.

Honestly, I had no idea whether he got her not. I was waiting for the ref. The ref didn't even know it was tight one on one coverage. He still made the catch on the fade pattern. Anyway, that was pretty amazing.

Here comes the Pat G Prep rushes it well. It is up. It is good and Moses Lake is on the board. 9:45 to go until halftime. It's now 21.

And then as soon as Moses Lake kicked it away on the kickoff back to Gonzaga Prep, Ryan McKenna went almost 90 yards for a kick return touchdown. So now it's 28 to 7 to Hanse. Yeah, that's. That's really how you signed the crowd. The sideline was jumping over here for Moses Lake.

The crowd was on their feet, they were loud, they were very excited after that last touchdown. And Ryan McKenna said, don't get too happy, man. Oh man. How about that? All right.

So the kickoff went out of the back of the end zone 20 yard line is where they take over. Moses Lakes offense took it down for a touchdown their last time out. Brock Clark threw a great pass to Case and Thomas on a fade route in the back of the end zone on the left side. And their intermediate passing has been their strength, Dehante. Yeah, it is and I think they need to go back to that, start hitting these inside zone passes, passes.

And that's what was working earlier. That's what's going to work again if they continue to do that. Here they come on first down again. It's a slam pass over the middle. It's back to Thomas.

He just had a touchdown. He's passed the 25 yard line up toward the 30 and taken down. Yeah, he's very impressive when he has the ball in his hands. He's making a lot of guys miss getting lateral there. I would like to see him get a little bit more vertical but he's still very impressive so this won't surprise you.

We talked to the coach this week, Brett J. When I asked him about Case and Thomas he said he is our yes guy. So dynamic once he's got the ball. Yep, I could see it right now. Gain of seven on the play.

Second down and seven here for Moses Lake and a four wide receiver. Look, one half back in the backfield. They'll give it to him. That's Maddox Gwynn, his third carry of the game. He's a tall running back.

Six feet tall, 170 pounds. Gained a four for Damon Orthodontics first down. The thing that's helping this Moses Lake team so much is they're making the first guy miss every single time. Time. Because they are being there's people, there's guys there for tfl every single time.

But this Mosik late. This Moses Lake team is very shifty. They're making the first guy miss and they're able to get a couple more yards after contact and they really do a lot of motion right. It's kind of hard to get a or get a read on who's where. A lot of misdirection emotions is helping this team out for sure.

All right, they got up to the 32 yard line on the left side of the 50. Here they come on first down, first and 10. He steps up pocket collapsing, rolls to the right first, fakes a pass and he runs out of bounds around the 37 for a gain of about 5. Pretty good from from Brock Clark got out of bounds. That'll stop the clock.

8 minutes and 3 seconds to go until halftime. 28 to 7, our score. G Preps offense in special teams has been amazing. So nice to hear that high school football band back with us. Five wide receiver.

Look here for Clark. Steps up, throws deep down the right sideline. One on one coverage off the hands of Asher Lindgren. Good throw. Couldn't haul it in.

He was in coverage. Yeah, that was good coverage there. There was no chance of him being able to make that one. One with. With how close these.

This. These DBs are plastering these wide receivers. That would have been a very, very hard catch, I'll tell you. It's amazing that Moses Lake is completing as many passes as they are, Dante, considering how tight G Prep is playing on defense. Yes, because they keep on going back to this zone.

The zone's not working for them. They're hitting the holes when they play man to man. They're playing flawlessly on defense. Third down and seven for Moses Lake. They're down three touchdowns.

They want to score again. On this drive, quarterback Brock Clark looks to the near side to his coach, Brett J. And they will take a timeout. You know what, the hunter like that call. They know that they cannot keep letting G Prep get back on offense.

Yeah, that. That's. That's a pretty good call right there. They tried to fake him out with the silent. The silent hike and it didn't work.

G Prep was very sound there. They knew they can't give up. First down here. Really good call. Really, really good.

com so to Hante, as a former college safety, I'm interested to get your take on this. Moses Lake is getting their quarterback time, but also the play seems to keep breaking down. Yeah. How are both those things true at once? Well, we're really.

They're giving them time because, like, the O line is doing what they need to do. However, the quarterback's not being able to find somebody when he wants to with the time he's having. These DBs for G prep are really playing good. They're playing sound. And the biggest plays he's able to make is when he's standing in the pocket.

However, he's having to scramble out because he's getting a lot of time. But at quarterback, you only need three seconds. He's getting five to six and then the D line is going to eventually get through. Third down. And seven here for Moses Lake.

Well, G Prep seems to be playing with a fire tonight. Do you think they filled with it insulted by this number six ranking this week? I would definitely have felt insulted if I was them as well. They're playing. I mean, they're playing.

They went undefeated. Yeah, but most of the time those rankings come based off of the schools you play against too. But I would feel insulted. First in 10 down to around the 21 yard line of Moses Lake. It's a handoff up the middle of Sac Amano.

He's got a short gain about a 4 yards to be second down. Does it help to have a chip on your shoulder coming into the playoffs to feel a little bit disrespected? Always. But sometimes people. It depends on what type of player you are because sometimes people allow that to be a distraction.

You come in with too much on your mind, then you end up messing up on key things you used to do before 6. 45 to go until halftime. G Prep now down inside the red zone of Moses Lake again. Already up three touchdowns. Here comes a snap to Ryan McKenna up the middle they go again.

It's getting pretty out of hand at this point. So I understand where the Moses like fans are coming from. She prepped down to the Moses Lake 12 on the left side of the 50. It's going to be third down and one. They have not yet been stopped.

When it matters tonight. Moses Lake's offense has been good. Their defense has been way overmatched. Big eye formation here. Handoff to Sacramento.

He's already got one touchdown. He is taken down by a linebacker inside the five. He's got an amen. Orthodontics. First down and it'll be first and goal.

And just like that, they're five yards away from getting another score on the board. This G Prep offense is very impressive. Really, really impressive. They have not been stopped. Like we said tonight, looks like they're on their way to another touchdown in a minute.

And this stadium got quiet fast. All right, here comes G Prep. First down and goal for the Moses Lake four yard line. McKenna in there has a blocker, takes it up the middle. Touchdown.

Ryan McKenna does it again. 34 to 7, Gonzaga Prep. And it's not even halftime. Still 5:30 to go until the end of the second. Yeah, this one's getting a little out of hand right now for the Moses Lake.

For Moses Lake. I'm hoping that they can get back on offense and make something happen here, but G Prep is having their way with them right now. No kidding. 34 to 7. Here comes the right booted kick up and good 35 to 7.

Still five and a half minutes to go until halftime. All right, Deontay, this thing's not done yet. We still have so much football left to play. But as a former college safety diagnosed this for us, why is Moses Lake's defense looking so inept in comparison? It's very hard.

This is probably one of the hardest type of teams to try and to study, watch, film on, to try and really discipline yourself in order to come out here and play confidently. When we play against a team like this, we practice them probably in fall camp. We can play against a triple option team in November and we'll already be practicing some things in fall camp, which is in August. So these are the type of teams that we play against. It's very hard to play and be successful on defense when going against a team like this.

Is it something about the scheme for gprex? It's just that everyone has to know their individual roles. Everyone has an individual role and if you missed your one role, that's when they could potentially give it to your guy and they'll score. They don't know who's gonna have the ball on here. So if one person's up messed up and obviously one person must be, they're getting yards every time because of that.

You have to just know safety has to scrape over and be able to make that play. There's guys that have to scrape over. If you're getting blocked, you have to be able to block your guys specific way. And it looks like right now Mosleck may be not knowing what to do when they're out there on offense. Our defense playing against his g prep offense.

35 to 7 is our score. Here's how we got here. Matt Sacabano touchdown run early for the bullpups and then a scoop and score on defense from Luciano Reynolds and then McKelsey run touchdown to make it 21. Nothing really fast for G Prep. Touchdown pass from Moses Lake early in the second made it 21 7.

But after that, Ryan McKenna kick return touchdown. And Ryan, now Ryan McKenna touchdown run for the quarterback. 357 is our score. Really? Last week, the hanse in the game you saw against Chiwan, the story was the G Prep defense.

Tonight the story is the offense. Yeah, I mean, there's not too much defense for. For us to brag about from G prep because they're getting off the field so fast. This offense is just showing us what we need to see right now. No question about it.

A four touchdown lead here for G Prep on top of the Moses Lake, Chiefs. And you can hear our sideline microphone. Moses Lake fans got pretty quiet. They were allowed to start this game. They were very loud.

And even after that score earlier, they had the crowd was on their feet, sideline was jumping. It was looking like they were going to come back into this game. But G prep is letting them know like they're making a statement tonight. And there's no questioning that. You absolutely know it.

All right, Joel Middleton back to receive for Moses Lake on the left side of the 50. Out at the five yard line. It's right to him. He makes a catch over his head and is able to haul it in at the 5 yard line. Takes it up past the 10 to 20 and push out of bounds.

So not the best field position here for the Chiefs. Down 35 to 7 with 5 minutes and 23 seconds to go until halftime. This is going to be a long drive for the Chiefs to hunt day. It's gonna be a long drive and it's gonna be a very detrimental drive here. Like they have to put points on the board here before this gets a little bit too out of hand and the clock just continues to run.

They want to have any chance of coming back into this game. They have to put some boards, some points on the board here. I'll tell you what's amazing. Despite the fact that it's 35 7G prep, it feels like Moses Lake has had the majority of time of possession. Yeah, they definitely have control the time for sure.

First down and 10. Handoff off near side. It's Guzman dropped for loss. I think only thing most Lake needs to do here is go back to what they were doing earlier that was working. Run some posts, run some slants by your wide receivers and allow Brock to deliver a good ball.

The slant patterns over the middle have been their friend. Yeah, it's worked every time. I haven't seen one pass that was actually defended that they dropped it. The only reason why they've dropped it is because wide receivers dropped it by themselves. Got back to the line of script, no gain.

Second down and ten now for Moses Lake. Three receivers split to the left, one to the right. One halfback. Clark drops back pocket, collapses, throws near side out of bounds. It's going to be third down and 10 stops the clock.

Yeah, they try to run a screen there. If you, if you notice the minute he hiked the ball, all the, all the defensive linemen got up and they stopped and started backpedaling backwards because they know the ball is coming there. He had no option to Throw it anywhere else. That is a toughie. Third down and 10 now coming up for Moses Lake.

445 to go in the first half. Down 35 to 7. G Prep. Three offensive touchdowns, one kick return touchdown, one defensive touchdown on a scoop and score. And it's third down and 10.

Clark drops back. Pressure coming, pocket collapses. Bullet over the middle to thrown Barry. He hauls it in or did he? Referees talking to each other.

I think he might have dropped that again to Hante. Yeah, that's what it's looking like. And that's if he did. He did. That will be a huge, huge loss for this Moses Lake offense.

Well, the referees are talking to each other around the 20 yard line. I take it back. I think he did make the catch, but I think we have a whole on the play. So they're marching him back. Yeah, I do see that.

I didn't see the flag at first. It's another thing about that one too is Brock normally delivers a pretty good pass to. The pass was a little low to where he had to slide on the ground to try and make that catch. That's. That's tough.

All right. Man, oh man. So they'll play that down over again. It's going to be third down and a long way to go. Clark is standing on the goal line.

They've got to get up to the 30. So this is third down and 25 after the penalty for Moses Lake. Three receivers to the left, one to the right for Clark. G Prep looks like they're bringing blitz on third and forever. And they will.

Low snap. Clark already under pressure, steps from the pocket, runs to the right. Taken out of the 13. Small gain, not nearly enough. I respect Brock there for just trying to make something out of nothing.

There was nothing for him to do there. The blitz came instantly. The mini hiked the ball. The guy was already there in his face. So go ahead and try and get as many yards.

Give your fun, give your punt unit an opportunity to kick the ball pretty deep downfield. Fourth down and 15 for Moses Lake. And they will send out their punt unit. No surprise. Luciano Reynolds back to receive for the bullpups at midfield.

He's standing of the 50. And Guzman back to punt in the end zone. They'll run a fake, throws to the near side, incomplete. Oh, man. We've got to appreciate the effort.

But now G Prep gets it in the Moses Lake red zone after the bad fake punts. Yeah, G Prep guarded it as if they knew that that fake was coming. Kind of as if they Already knew that that was gonna happen. And it was a pretty interesting. I would have kicked it there because now G Prep's gonna get the ball in the red zone and they're gonna score.

I haven't seen a spot on the field that's, that's hard for G Prep to punch it in and score from, man. So G Prep after the bad fake punt, takes over at The Moses like 14 yard line here with 325 to go until halftime. They're still up 35 to 7. Ryan McKenna out of the shotgun, two running backs with them. They run the option on the near side.

It's Nick Banky 15, 10, 5 end over end, into the end zone. Touchdown, 41 to 7, G Prep on Nick Banky's touchdown. Yeah, this G Prep offense is making a statement. Making a huge statement here tonight. Took one play and even got a little nice little front flip into the end zone there.

No, and I think that took about three seconds as well. Here comes the pat up good. 42 to 7, Gonzaga Prep Pure domination to. No, this is, this is not really how I thought the game was gonna go. Especially with how I see in Moses Lake in pre game warm ups.

They looked very good. Moses Lake coming into this game six to no in their league. There's seven and three overall. They're on a five game winning streak. G Prep says I don't care.

I'd hate to say that this game is over, but this game's looking like it's getting a little bit out of reach here. But you never know what can happen in the second half. But if G Prep continues to look flawless on off offense the way they are, this game is going to be for the records. Yeah, you never can tell. But boy, oh boy, Dave McKenna had these guys ready for the playoffs.

Yes, he did. Yes, he did. And at this rate, they're gonna knock off whoever the number three team is, who they play next week. I wouldn't be surprised if G Prep goes all the way this year. Especially with them the way they're looking.

Oh yeah, they're. They're not looking like they're. They need help in any, in any part of this game. Special teams look good. Fake punt, nothing defense, nothing offense.

Middleton takes it up along the left sideline. Flag comes in, he got the 25. That'll be some kind of holding. It was a block in the back. It was very, it was a flop play there.

He really didn't. He barely had a hand on his back. But the flags on the ground, they're gonna back it up and they'll take, take, take over. The one thing I could say about this Moses Lake team is they don't look like they're defeated here. They look like they're still ready to play and they're still into in this game despite the score.

And that's something that I can definitely commend them for. I think you're absolutely right about that. They're the offensively to start here, playing with spirit and guts. Yeah. And that's just all you can ask from a team is that when they're down, keep your heads up and let's continue to run this out.

The clock is not zero zero. You never know what can happen in a football game. Football is an amazing sport that crazy things happen all the time. All right. So after the penalty, they're placed back at their own 10 yard line on the left side of the 50.

The passing game has been phenomenal. The running game could use a little bit of work just to kind of keep G prep on their toes, right? Yeah, for sure. And I think that the passing game needs to be utilized a little more. They're.

They're getting what they want out of these passes. They're just sometimes not running the right, the right place. We had a clock stoppage there for some reason, referees will now get it moving again. It's going to be second down or nine after the gain of 1, 250 to go until halftime. Moses Lake down 42 to 7.

They're on offense on their own 12. Here comes the snap to Clark, hands it off up the middle. This one to Maddox Gwynn, his fifth carry. Their bigger running back, 6ft tall, got between the hashes, gain about 3 yards. Let me Third down.

And as long as Mother Slake continues to just pry away at this defense, get as many yards they're gonna give you and just keep on trying to drive down the field. That's all they can do at this point. Well, you can tell they're now trying to establish the run game. I wish they would have tried it a little bit sooner. Yeah, to mix it up in there, get some runs, get some passes, get it rotating around.

However, I'd say it's better late than never because right now they should try anything. They've already tried the fake punt, so let's go ahead and just keep it going. The urgency from this Moses Lake team is very interesting. Why they're not on hurry up offense here. I would love to see them get downfield. They're still on their own, on their own 30 and they're taking all the time they want on the field, which is weird because they've been traditionally this season a no huddle team. I'll stop the clock with 25 seconds to go until halftime. The frustrating thing to haunt A I love the creativity and the characters on the Moses Lake offense. Their defense is just allowed too many points.

I agree, I agree. Their defense is definitely getting gutted out there, but this offense is still keeping true and keeping to it. They're doing whatever they need to do to try to get as many yards as they can. They've been on the field all day. Second down and five after Guzman took it and ran out of bounds.

All right, Dave, you went, you went on the record, you were saying this week with a blowout win for G Prep. Where was your crystal ball? And can I get some college football gambling picks tomorrow? Well, I, I went public in two different places saying 38 to 14, and, you know, I was kind of being polite. I mean, this Moses Lake team, the size of their defensive line, they just can't do anything against Gonzaga Prep.

I mean, they, you know, it's obvious that they, they're going off tackle untouched for 15, 20 yards. And you know, that one, the one long run by McKenna, he just simply followed his lead blocker through the middle of the field and went 54 yards. So there's just nothing they can do to stop him. Right? And I think what's really pretty is how much they're spreading it out.

We have a Sac Amounto touchdown, a Reynolds touchdown, A Lilo touchdown. McKenna kick return touchdown. McKenna keeper touchdown. Banky touchdown. It seems like they're making a concerted effort to move it around round, right?

Four different rushers have touchdowns. You mentioned the two returns. They're just dominating every facet of the game right now. And, you know, I don't see it changing in the second half. This looks like a team that is one angry and disrespected two.

If they play like this next week, they'll beat the three seed. This looks like a Final four team to me. You know, they're built for the postseason, right? They run the ball and they've got a really good defense and they, they're good on special teams. And this is what, what the folks on the, on the, on the west side of the state forget every year is that when they, when this team's got a good defense, they are as likely as anybody to reach the Final Four.

This team's got a lot of juniors at the supporting positions, a lot of junior running backs, a couple junior receivers, a lot of good juniors on the line. But in a lot of the positions where it matters, including quarterback, their seniors, they, this is a well rounded group, right? And we've mentioned it all season, long. You know, McKenna has been running this offense since he was six years old. You know the family offense.

Right, Exactly. I mean he was the ball boy when he was 6. He's been running it since then. This is the perfect storm of talent fitting the system. Based on what you're seeing tonight, how far can this team go?

Well, I said it two minutes ago that I think there are final four caliber, you know. You know they've got two division one players on their defensive line. Yep. You know, Ryan McKenna runs this offense as he was born to play it and they're, they dominate both lines of scrimmage. So I don't see why this team can't advance to the final four.

Gonzaga Prep was mad that they were ranked number six coming into the bracket and Dehante, they're taking it out on Moses Lake 42. 7 as they rightfully should. They have to really make a statement tonight to show that number six was disrespectful and they deserve to be way closer to that number one spot. Let's talk about our first half MVPs. Like we just mentioned a minute ago with Dave Nichols from the newspaper, you could kind of give it to almost anyone so far for Gonzaga Prep.

Sac Amano's got a touchdown, Reynolds has a touchdown. On defense, Lilo's got a rushing touchdown, McKenna has a kick return touchdown, a rushing touchdown for the QB and a Nick Banky touchdown. So four different guys have scored on the ground for G Prep. But you like McKenna for first half MVP. Yeah, I must say Ryan McKenna came out tonight.

He's doing good. He's running the ball very hard. He has that kickoff return touchdown. Plus he has a rushing touchdown. Only personal team with two touchdowns and he rightfully deserves that mvp.

And let's talk a little bit about Moses Lake. We had a couple of options. We liked Tyson Thomas. You all done a touchdown pass. Hayden Throne Barriers looked good.

Brock Clark has done all he can but but you like the running back. Even though he doesn't have a ton of yardage. You like the way Sergio Guzman is playing. I do. It's even though they only have one touchdown tonight and he's not a part of that touchdown, he's the main reason why they were able to get that touchdown.

He's running really hard. He's doing everything he needs to do in order to show that this team that we could still come back in this one. Essentially the takeaway for the first half as we get ready for the second half in just in a minute is Moses Lake's offense is fun, it's creative and it's good. Their defense is just physically not big enough to stop G Prep's offense. I agree with that.

They're not. They're not really big enough and they're not really disciplined enough, I'd say, to really be able to key in on who they need to within this triple observation. Second half predictions More of the same. Yeah, I must say that this is, this is going to be a runaway for G Prep for sure. Yeah, I think it seems like it.

But this thing feels like it's already been determined. Greg Talbot and Dehante Hayes with you here. G Prep, Moses lake, Gonzaga Prep 42, Moses Lake 7 Deontay. We kind of thought this would be a two or three touchdown game. It was that big a difference within like six minutes.

Yeah, I definitely thought that Moses Lake was going to be able to put up a few more points on the board. The thing is, is Gonzaga Prep just came out of here here. Came out here so hard. It's so fast. It was a pretty, pretty intense how the tables turned and went from 00 to 14 0.

Like you said, in a matter of a minute of them even like touching the ball. Really, really, really good stuff. G Prep runs out of the tunnel on the right side of the field. Here they come again. And these are some really happy campers.

Man, oh man. 42 to 7, deontay. So you played high school football in Washington. For those who don't know you're from the Tacoma area. Really, really strong high school career, which of course got you to Cheney to play for Eastern Washington based on what you're seeing at a G prep.

We just talked to Dave Nichols. He said this is a final four team based on what you're seeing. What do you think G Prep can do in this bracket after what you've seen the last two weeks? It's really interesting to think about because we didn't, I didn't see these type of teams when I was in high school. We ran basically spread offenses.

You either had a, a run first team or a pass first team. You didn't go out here and see teams like Moses Lake who has a four by one lining up, lining up in four by one sets, or you have a triple awesome team like G Prep. So realistically they can go really, really far based off of the plays that they run and the type of offense that they're running and how physical their defense is. I have nothing in my mind telling me that they're not going to be able to go as far as they possibly can. Yeah, and I'll tell You, it's almost a little bit of a bummer that this game is as much of a blowout as it is, because even having just watched them play football for 24 minutes, I find this Moses Lake team extremely likable.

Yeah, the main thing I like about Moses Lake is how they have so much intensity within themselves right now. And they're down 42 to 7. They're not looking like they're, they're beat. They're not looking sad, they're not looking upset. They're.

The fans are standing on their feet. Not, not many fans have left right now. They're still here to support them. And this is just what you want to see. This is football culture here.

And it's always tough in the first round of the playoffs. So I'll tell you what. I think Washington has it right. 16 teams in the four way bracket. This is my first year watching Washington high school football since 2015.

I spent five years in Georgia watching high school football and they play 32 teams in a bracket and it's just blowouts until you get to like the Elite 8. It's a mess. I like that Washington does 16. I think it's, it's more meaningful. You know what I mean?

It is very meaningful. But there is those teams that get in that still shouldn't be. And even with the 16. So like, do you think 16 is maybe still too many? Yeah, 16 is definitely too many.

I, I remember in high school we still did 16 as well, and every first round game was a blowout. Yeah, it was similar to this right here. I mean, my first round, my senior year was against Nathan Hale. We beat them. I think it was like 50 something to zero in the first half.

I didn't play the whole second half. That's how insane like the first rounds always are in high school. Well, I'll tell you what, in Washington, the, the difficult part about that, I guess theoretically is that in your, in my ideal world with an 18 playoff, that does kind of separate the, the wheat from the chaff.

The problem is the first round game is in 3 versus 6. That would be an amazing first round game and really competitive. Yeah, I would make every single game seem like it was a championship, which is, I think, ideal for high school. Let's say the best players go against the best players. Sometimes teams that are way better than the, than their opponents end up losing.

And then now you have a really, really bad ranked team going against a good team and it's a blowout in the championship. All right. Moses Lake and Gonzaga Prep back out on the field for the next 24 minutes of football. At the end of the half, Gonzaga Prep 42, Moses Lake 7. And the Bull Props get the ball back to start the second half.

They have two receivers back at the five yard line. One is Ryan McKenna. He already ran back a touchdown. Elsewhere, it's Luciano Reynolds to receive, but this one bounces out of bounds. 35 yard line goes G prep to start the third quarter.

We're gonna get to the territory here pretty soon. One more Gonzaga Prep touchdown. We have running clock. Yeah. That's what's gonna be in I.

It's not. It's not very uncommon for teams to start kicking it away from Ryan McKenna. That's what we've seen last week. After he gets the handles on the ball and they start to see how aggressive he is with the ball, they start to kick it similar to this area. However, they most kickers are able to put it in a better spot to where it doesn't go out of bounds.

You and I haven't gotten a chance to talk about it much tonight. The Gonzaga Prep offensive line has been really amazing. Oh, yeah, they're clearing gaps and making holes. It's pretty impressive with how they're being able to move this defensive line so easily. So G Prep takes over first and 10 from their own 35 yard line.

On the right side of the 50. Man in motion. Here comes McKenna. Fakes handoff, keeps it himself, goes right side, gain a two. And with that play, I'm not mad about it.

Why? Because we've seen in multiple weeks, he keeps on pitching that and making fumbles, and he chose to keep it there. And good for them to keep the clock running. Last thing you want to do in a playoff game that you already have wrapped up is hurt someone. So I'm not sure we're gonna see any passing out of the bullpups here in the second half.

No, in fact, I don't think we've seen one pass tonight. No, not if they don't need to. No, not at all. Keep that clock running. Gain of 2.

Second down and 8. Here comes McKenna. There's their first pass of the game. Play action. Throws down the middle.

Oh, just over the head of Nick Banky. He was wide open. Rather, that was Sam Oman. He was street streaking down the middle of the field on a post pattern. He was wide open.

It just went over his head. So that would. They were going for the nail on the coffin there. That's usually what they do. That's what I Was saying earlier, remember, they're going to keep on running it, running, running, and then they're gonna have somebody leak right down the middle of the field and throw it up to him.

Too bad that was incomplete because that would have been a nice touchdown. You might be wondering at home, why'd they pass it? Well, one more touchdown makes it a running clock, so they would like to do that. Third down and eight for G Prep from their own 37. Man in motion.

It's Oman. McKenna keeps it himself. Right side, takes down a linebacker, gets to the middle of the field. He's up around the 50 for Damon Orthodontics. First down and the Bullpups are on the move to start the third quarter.

42 to 7. Our score. Bullpup blowouts in the making. He's probably one of the more physical quarterbacks I've seen out of anybody playing right now that we've went over for sure, too. Potential college hockey player.

And I can definitely see that with just how physical he is as a person. McKenna, the third son of head coach Dave McKenna to come through the program running the family offense. Drops back, throws to the far side over the head of Nick banky. Incomplete over two passing on this drive. Second down and 10.

Cold evening here in the Lilac City. We were, as you probably know, in the mid-40s and gray and rainy all day. Kind of one of the more unpleasant days we've had this fall, actually, to Hansen. Yeah, the weather this year is a little weird. It's raining a lot more than normal.

Right. I hope. I was wondering that. It's a lot more rain. Yeah.

Second down and ten and a handoff. Goes up the middle. It's Sac. Amano takes a guy with him. Past the 40, down to around the Moses Lake 35 yard line.

Man, here comes G Prep. They want that one more touchdown to start the clock going. Damon Orthodontics. First down for the 511, 185, sophomore Matt Sac. Amano.

He's already got one touchdown tonight. With him being 511, he's towering over so many guys on his Moses Lake team. It just shows how small Moses Lake's team is in comparison to Gonzaga Prep. Moses Lake's offense, really fun. Their defense, just small in comparison.

McKenna keeps it himself. Goes right side, right hash mark to the linebackers. Takes one down with his shoulder. He gets up to about the 20 yard line and that's another demon. Orthodontics.

First down for the quarterback. Whistle on the field. Waiting for the call from the refs that's a flag on the play. Really late flag, Dante. Yeah.

I don't know what happened there at the end of the play, but the flag did come in. Looks like it's going against G Prep as well. I didn't really see what happened there must have been someone's sports from that conduct. All right, Dante, it's like you played football or something. Yeah, I don't know.

I feel like too much Madden or something. I'm sure, I'm sure it wasn't being a. A star in the Big Sky Conference. I'm sure it was all the years of Madden in the NCAA football game. It's one of those two.

42 to 7, our score. Gonzaga Prep on offense here at the beginning of the second quarter. 10:22 to go in the third and a slow slog of a start to the third quarter. Referee is talking to the head coach here of Moses Lake, Brett J. He's confused about something.

I'm confused why they moved the sticks back. As am I. They just moved the sticks back after. What was the name of orthodontics? First down I've actually never seen.

Maybe it was a misallocation to penalty yards after the personal foul. Weird. All right, they are back to the 35 yard line of Moses Lake. G Prep. Two receivers to the right, two to the left.

Handoff up the middle to Sac Amato. Oh man, he went in shoulder first to the defensive line. Gain of 5 yards in a brutal bruising run for the running back. I'm not really, I'm very impressed with how hard these guys are running the ball. Every time that running the ball and they see someone that can potentially make the tackle, they're lowering their shoulder and taking down at least one to two guys every single time.

Yeah, man, they're doing it. That was actually a gain of man. Eight yards for Mateo Sac Amano. Second down and two for G Prep. Right hash mark, right side of the field.

They put a man in motion. McKenna keeps it himself, pitches far side to knee and you shoot that balls on the ground. Looks like G Prep fell on it and they did. Second bad pitch of the night for the bullpups deontay. Is that gonna be a problem later in the playoffs?

This is happening every game. I think what they need to do is get Ryan McKenna to understand how strong of a, of a pitcher he is. Because when he's pitching, he's pitching it with so much force that the running backs is literally bouncing off the running backs hands. And this is exactly what I seen last week when he caught when he caused that fumble. Can you pitch too hard?

Yeah, you can. Especially if the running back thinks you're going to keep it. They don't know what he's going to do. So after the fumble, it was actually picked up past the stick. So it's a new Daymond Orthodontics.

First down. They'll run the pitch again. This one's the Ninja Yishu far sideline. Down to the 20. Pretty good gain of about six yards.

Clock will run nine minutes to go here in the third quarter. 42 to 7G prep and our name and orthodontics first down. And then I think Ryan just answered a question there. We're wondering if that's gonna hurt them. He's like, hold on, let me go right back to it.

Run the play right back again. And went back to the same running back. He pitched to that of confidence, right? Yeah, definitely. I like that.

We messed up once. Let's do it again. New first down. They got down to the Moses Lake 20. So they're in the red zone.

Handoff up the middle. Sac amount 10. 5. Taken down from behind to the 2. Sacamono was going for his second touchdown.

Didn't quite get there, but he's down to the goal line. Yeah, he was. He was dragging a few guys with him too. If no help came, he was gonna go in there with about three. With three guys is being carried on his legs.

So we have touchdowns on the ground tonight already from Sac, Amano, McKelsey, McKenna and Banky. Four different bullpups have rushing touchdowns. And here they are down at The Moses Lake 2. Who is it this time? Sac Amano up the middle.

Touchdown. His second 49. 48-7G prep. Wait a minute. The referees didn't put their hands in the air despite how hard he went up.

Did we get that one called back? Yeah, it was a pretty bad spot there. They called him down, but he was clearly in the end zone there. I take it back. Okay.

The down from inside the one yard line back to Sacamono again. There we go. Touchdown. 48. 7G prep.

He earned it. He deserved it. What a touchdown there. He did it twice. He earned it at least once.

Oh, yeah. He had to prove it. That's what that's called. 48. 7G prep.

In comes the field goal unit to make it 49. And this should, I believe, give us running clock even in the WIAA playoffs. But I guess we'll find out in a minute. The swing is up from the kick. It is up.

So up to the 42 yard line for Moses Lake. They were undefeated in league play this year, seven and three overall. They're on a five game winning streak. But they have run into a buzz saw of the Gonzaga prep bullpups tonight. Brock Clark, their quarterback.

And all state wrestlers look good tonight. He comes back out on offense to receiver, split to each side. Has got a halfback with him in the backfield. Turns and hands off at Sergio Guzman. He had a great first half.

Scampers to the near side sideline. Push out of bounds and a gain of 3 and clock is still running. So we do have a running clock with an over 40 point lead for GP. Crap. Do we like that Deontay?

Do we like playoff running clock? Oh yeah, that's always nice. Especially when the score is getting a little out of hand here. You don't want it to be. To turn into something to where we're just really just putting the.

The fork in these guys. It's the. What's done is done. This game's clearly out of reach. So let's go ahead and get the running.

Gain a two on the play. Second down and eight. Here comes Clark. Play action. Pass throws near side.

Oh, almost intercepted pass intended for Hayden thrown. Barry was tipped away though by a db. It'll be third down and eight and a flag coming in. Might be passing her for. No, that's gonna be holding, I think.

Looks like there was a rough in the passer here. The G Prep. G Prep definite line man got a little too excited there. Gave him a late hit on Brock and the flag came out. Yeah.

G Prep is still playing aggressive out there, aren't they? They don't really have a second. Second lower gear. And that's, that's. I respect that.

That is something that you want your team to have and your players to feel like no matter what the score is, no matter how much we're up, let's continue to keep on going. Foot on the gas pedal and let's keep on going to the scores or to. The clock says 00 in the fourth quarter. That's roughing the passer and a 15 yard penalty. So that gives them an even orthodontics first down.

They're up to the G prep 40 on the right side of the 50. So Moses Lake getting blown out by their offense has been awfully fun to watch so far. And they. They keep moving. Three receivers to the left here, one to the right.

They're going left to right across your radio dial. Handoff up to the near side to Guzman again. Picks up about two as he comes to the near side. He's not had a whole lot of success going up the middle. The Hante.

Yeah. But the interesting thing is I think he won't run into this boundary with how. Yeah. Fast. This G Prep defense is getting there.

You have to find ways to get him vertical running to the boundaries. Not helping because you're getting four to five guys who are pursuing so fast. They are fast side. Yeah, they're getting there so fast. So run to the field.

Utilize this whole open side of the field because he's running out of bounds and the clock's not stopping yet. Another gain of two for Sergio Guzman. So second down and eight here. They're up to the 38 yard line of the Gonzaga Prep Bubble cups. High snap here, dump off pass near side.

It's Guzman, makes a catch, cuts back to the right hash mark, picks up again a four. This will be third down and four. That was a nice little play. First time we've seen that work tonight. Yeah, that was a nice play out.

Like I said, I would really like to see them utilize that field, though. There's a. There's a whole side of the field that's not being used. With only three defensive players over there. Do you think they're afraid?

Considering G Prep had three or four interceptions against a UCLA committed quarterback last week? I can definitely see that. But at this point, what do they have to lose? Go ahead. Let's take a shot.

Third down and along four here for Moses Lake. Down 49 to 7. Low snap of the knees for Clark. Steps up, pocket collapsing, and down he goes. It's Watkins with a sack.

His second. I respect that sack from Watkins because he's the reason why they got that rough in the pastor. You came back with a. With a good rush and made that sack. That's nice.

Well, Moses Lake already went for it twice on fourth down tonight. They did not make it either time. Now it's fourth and nine after the sack. And I guess they'll go for it a third time because what do you have to lose? Yeah, they have nothing to lose here.

And think of this first down. That could be big. They could bring some momentum back and they can get some points on the board here. 49 to 7. All G prep on top of Moses Lake.

And now the Chiefs will go for it on fourth down and nine. They're pushed back now to the G Prep 41. Wide open set here for Clark. Five wide receivers. He drops back pocket, collapses right away.

He step steps up, he'll run 35 yard line up to around the 30, right around the chain. Boy, that's gonna be really, really close. Yeah, this is a close one. I'm not too sure. They might have to bring the chains out or give him a courtesy spot, considering the score.

It was fourth down and nine. He had to get up to the 30. This thing is. Oh, gosh. That's right up against the chains, huh?

Referees have blown it dead for a second. They might be asking for the chains. What's crazy to me is Brock had that first down. If he would have just went a little bit more vertical there. He got a little lateral because he seen the linebacker coming after him.

But he had the first down there. If he would have just went one step forward. The referees are talking in the middle of the field and they will bring out the chains from the near sideline. The outcome of this game is pretty much determined already, but Moses Lake would like to keep getting their offense a couple more reps. The chains are out on the field.

They're stretching him, putting it into the turf. Short by half a yard. G Prep ball on the turnover. How unfortunate. Right there.

Geez, he had it. I mean there was no other there. Even if you'd stretched, you would have got just stretch took one step. But he's seen that linebacker coming so I understand he got a little bit lateral instead of vertical there and that hurts him. Yeah, man, oh man.

I'm pretty glad he's out of the game now because he, he did everything he, we needed for him tonight. And there you are exactly right. They have just pulled him into the game comes JoJo Shortell, the second string quarterback. Hands up the middle to Lilo McKelsey. So they'll keep a couple of running backs in, gain a one and this will be third down and seven.

So Shortell, a five foot ten, 160 junior. McKenna, the quarterback is a senior. So you wonder if maybe it's Shortell's team to run next year's Cuba. That's usually how it goes. He sat there, he Learned everything from McKenna.

He gets to step in the game next year and take over and show what he's learned. Third down and seven. Everyone else in the game on offense for G Prep is still a starter. Put a man in motion. Up the middle they go.

It's actually a ticket back. It's keeper off the right side for shortell. Past the 40, past the 50, down into Moses Lake territory on a huge demon orthodontics. First down on a gain of almost, almost 20 yards on the excellent fake quarterback keeper from Jojo Shortell. It definitely looks like he learned a thing or two from Ryan McKenna.

There's nothing better than a team where you can sub guys and it looks like you do not miss a step or a beat. That is nice. They're moving the ball the same exact way they were when Ryan was in. And this is just. All you can do is just commend the coaches here with this one.

Went for the end zone on a play action touchdown pass. Overshot is wide out by just a couple of feet. What a pass though. That was a clean. Not bad looking for the backup.

Yeah, not bad at all. I mean he did overthrow him a little bit but I mean he's been sitting on this island for a while so he could be a little cold. But that ball was nice. It'll be second down and 10. Running clock continues to go now 55 seconds, seconds to go in the third quarter.

Second and 10. Back on the field. So Shortell like to uncork one. There they go back to the ground. This time it's McKelsey back up the middle.

Gain of about 2 yards. That'll keep the clock down. Running. Looks like we might have our first stop for the most like defense for the night, huh? Potentially.

This is going to be third down and seven. They've tried to stop him a couple times. They've not been able to though. You think this is four down territory? Maybe give your field goal kicker a try, a try going forward on fourth when you're up 49 to 7 seems like an insult.

I mean they, they've controlled this game on every single in every single way you possibly can, whether special teams, offense or defense. I've said it multiple times tonight, but they are near flawless tonight. They're even subbing in guys and it looks like no one even left the game. So they've taken out Ryan McKenna, the starting quarterback. Jojo Shortell came in and made a couple of really clean plays.

I don't know if he's their quarterback Next year. We haven't Talked to Dave McKenna about that, but based on the, the cleanliness we're seeing, he'd be a good choice. Yeah, I wouldn't want to second guess that at all. Considering he came in, made some good pitches, ran the ball even well, and threw a really nice ball even though it was incomplete. It shows he has the potential to complete some passes down the field if they do want to change up their offense.

Yeah, not bad, not bad, not bad. So G Prep still working here on offense. They flip the field around the right side of the 50. G prep down on the Moses Lake 10 yard line. On the right side of the 50, JoJo Shortell, the second string quarterback is in and standing behind him is Lilo McKelsey.

I formation. And they'll run the opposite of the near side at Sam Oman shakes off a tackle. Five yard line. Touchdown Sam Oman. The fifth Gonzaga Prep bullpup to score on the ground tonight.

And there we have it again. They're just adding more points to the board. What can I say? This is an incredible game by this Gonzaga Prep team and I must say that they are, they're looking like they're going to be a team that's gonna really make a deep run into the playoffs this year. I would say so.

So the first play of the fourth quarter is a 10 yard touchdown run from the junior running back, Sam Oman. 6ft 1, 165. Big guy. Took some contact there, turned it into a touchdown. The kick is up.

It is good. 56 to 7. Gonzaga Prep. @ this point I'm just wondering, how do you continue to keep your team in this one for Moses Lake? Maybe just, you know, telling them, hey, this is the last high school football some of you guys are ever going to play.

I guess. Enjoy the next 11 minutes. That would have some fun. That'll be some interesting coaching, some play action. Passes run a reverse.

I, I, what I wished I would have seen more from them is for them to come out and take some shots downfield again. They really got away from the passing game and just started running it. Why did they do that? They looked really good passing over the middle. For the first half of the game, passing looked really good.

They, they're completing passes. If there was balls that were dropped, it wasn't because the Brock wasn't throwing a good ball. It was just a wide receiver. Couldn't grasp it, which happens sometimes. But to shy away from it completely is what's really hurting this team right now.

They're running the ball a lot, but they're getting 2 yards pop. That's not going to really cut it. Especially going against this Gonzaga prep defense. I guess they're worried about interceptions or something, I don't know. But here's the thing.

If you're Brock Clark, the quarterback who we have liked tonight, he's a junior, not a senior, maybe just take a couple of shots and try to pass through this defense to learn some stuff. Yeah, I mean if he was, if at quarterback, I wouldn't even be worried about throwing interceptions. I would just be like, let me look at the game. This point, 6 to 7, just take shots. 11, 24 to go on this one.

And that'll be the end of the season for the Moses Lake Chiefs. Here comes G Prep to kick it off. It rolls down to the 10 yard line and Moses Lake will run it back up to the 28 yard line. That was Middleton, so not bad. Field position almost to the 30.

And we'll see the beginning of the end here for the Moses Lake Chiefs. It's been all Gonzaga Pritchard Prep. And now the question is, what does next week look like for G Prep? They're going to have to play likely the number three team in the bracket. That's going to be a big challenge.

But maybe not that big a challenge because if you looked at the Max Preps ratings or the Seattle Times ratings, Dante, Gonzaga Prep was number three for the most of the season. Yeah, I don't really think at this point the rankings are really playing a big role until you get deeper into the playoffs considering they have a ranked six. Six. If I'm going, it's a six team. I'm feeling good.

I wasn't expecting I'm going to lose by. By this many points. First down and 10. Swing pattern here to Sergio Guzman. Stays in bounds past the 35 toward the 40.

Damon Orthodontics. First down for the running back. And you can see that this is the. The aggression this Gonzaga Prep defense is still playing with is still there despite the first down that he has picked up that he got banged out of bounds. Yeah.

So it just shows they're still playing with a chip on their shoulders. Well, and now Sergio Guzman should. He's a senior. These are the last couple minutes of high school football he's ever gonna play. Yeah.

And for most of these guys, this is. If you're a senior right now, this could be the last game they ever play in their entire life. So just enjoy. You know what I mean? Exactly.

Three receivers out to the right for Moses Lake. One of the left 1/2 back in the backfield with Clark. Clark's had a good game. Bad snap. It's on the ground.

Picks it up. He tries to run it. That ball's on the ground. Gonzaga Prep got it. Fumbled away at the 45.

G prep recovery. Yeah, it was just a bad snap. You never really got the grasp of it. That just might show how wet the field might be right now, because once the ball hits, man, it's 40. Yeah.

Once the ball hit the turf, he was never able to recover it after that. This is a bad snap. And unfortunate for the offense there, that might have been the last chance to even get back on the field there with the way Gonzaga Prep controlled the game last week when they had this much time. Yep. That'll get you, huh?

So G Prep's offense comes back out. Already up 56 to 7. They've got the burger, the 50 burger in hand. 9:30 to go. They're on the option.

First down, Sacamo up the middle, gain a 2 between the hash marks. The Moses Lake band continues to play. Not unlike the band playing on the deck of the Titanic. Yeah, it hasn't quite slid down the railing yet that too soon? Too soon or too late has.

It hasn't quite sunk yet. But they're, they're, they're. They're getting there. And it. Everything that can go downhill for this Moses Lake team has happened.

And it's coming at the hands of Gonzaga Prep, a team who is very deserving. Second down and nine for the Bullpups. Moses Lick only has one man back deep in the defense as a secondary there. Shortell fakes handoff, keeps it himself, goes left side, picks up two or three yards. This will be third down for the Bullpups with eight minutes to go in this one.

Oh, yeah. This is when you kind of got to realize that Ryan McKinney's not in there anymore or McKenna's not in there anymore. Yeah. Yeah. So let's go ahead and maybe get a first down, maybe get one yard.

I mean, but this has been a interesting and good game for sure. I think that Gonzaga Prep has definitely showing that they're a lot more better than what people were saying. So Moses Lake was on a five game win streak. If you're G Prep, you got to feel confident going into next weekend, right? Oh, yeah, for sure.

You, you, you just have to know that, like this was. Oh, wow. Third down and 10. Shortail play action. Steps up.

He's taken down and it's a sack. It was Jacob Goode who Did it. The junior linebacker forcing fourth down and 11. Well, good for him. Yeah.

I mean, that first sack of the game. First sack of the day. That's nice. G Prep will punt it away for the first time. We've seen a lot of first times going on right now.

So. Yes. 7:30 to go in this game. The Bullpups will punt it away for the first time. First time for everything.

And it's Hayden Thornberry Throne Berry back to receive at the 15. But it won't even get there. Bad punt stops at the 28 yard line. So pretty good field position for Moses Lake. Although it doesn't matter.

710 to go in this one. 56 to 7. G prep, I cannot wait to see their game next week. Given Ryan McKenna just kicked this pun of that I'm just at this point wondering, what does he not do. I'll be surprised if he goes in and plays a little D line for us because he's playing everything all over here.

And I haven't seen a quarterback be this active in a game in a very long time time. Ryan McKenna is really something special, isn't he? Yeah, I. To say the least. I definitely would.

Would say that. All right, so just being transparent, here's what's happening. I'm getting on my phone. I'm taking a look at the brackets here. I want to see who Gonzaga Prep is playing next week.

It's going to be the winner of Lake Stevens and Richland. So that's likely Lake Stevens, but we can look at the scores here on Twitter. I can pull that time out on the field. We'll take it with him here on the Arby's GSL Game of the Week on 700 ESPN and 105. 3 FM.

He's a good foil to Sergio Guzman. Yeah, he's a pretty big back and I wouldn't be surprised what crazy in right now. Do you know by chance which one, Gwen? He's a junior. Oh yeah.

So. So as a junior, if he was to put some weight on, I could see him being a real force for his team. We've liked what we've seen out of him. Yeah, he has not been a bad running back at all. I mean this offensive team overall has.

The offense was really nice. Nice tonight. Two receivers split each way for Moses Lake. Clark drops back, bullet over the middle. And it's intercepted.

Oh man. How bad can this get for the Chiefs? Taken out at midfield. Let's see who came down with was Nate Boyam. The first interception of the game and it comes midway through the fourth quarter, five minutes to go.

G Prep is already up huge, 56 to 7 and they pick off poor Brock Clark. At least they're not coming off of a touchdown there to throw that interception. So therefore the score is not getting too deep on them. It's still where it was and it's still looking pretty bad. So silver linings.

Yeah, sure. You got. You got to start. We got to find some positives within it because at this point it is getting to they are getting turnovers like G Prep defense fans. Just came out here tonight to ball 56 7.

We have the meats five minutes to go in this one. First round of the WIAA 4A state playoffs Gonzaga Prep bulldozer 567 boy oh boy to hunt a if I were the winner of Lake Stevens Richland who plays tomorrow afternoon, I would be afraid of gprop. The minute the game ends, I would automatically hop on film and figure out how I'm going to be able to stop this offense. Because this offense is unstoppable. All right, so as a former high school and college player in the state, the Honda, you tell me.

If you're an opposing defensive coordinator, where do you even start stopping? G Prep? It's not that hard. Just play Cover zero here and just have your guys match up. If everyone picks up one person on the team, everyone's accounted for.

But you just have to make sure you make the play when your guy has the ball. And just for people at home who don't know, Football tournament zero. Just man to man here, just line up over your guy and just stay lateral, Stay squared. Just make sure you don't. You don't overrun your guy.

Stay behind them to where you're always in a trail technique here. You're always trailing, you're watching, you're reading, and you're able to make plays. But based off doing that, it's. It's a hard concept to grasp at first because people want to make plays so bad that they mess up their assignment. So stay on your man.

Exactly. Mm. Stay disciplined. You don't know who's gonna have the ball, so if your guy looks like he has a ball, tackle them. It's not a.

It's not a. It's not a penalty. All right after the fumble recovery, G Prep's offense comes back out after the timeout. Second down and 12. Handoff up the middle goes nowhere.

That is a one loss team they're playing and a conference foe who's played well against in the last couple years. I think given with the initial record, the however many wins we was we had before we lost the undefeated streak. It's going to be a difficult game considering we've played two already, very good high caliber offenses and in general and UC Davis always gives us a run for our money. So I would not be surprised if we went to this game and it's more of a shootout rather than it being just an automatic runaway.

How some of the games were this year. But we'll see. Handoff goes up the middle to Gwen. Got a gain of six yards. Yeah, that was a pretty good run there too.

Honestly, I think they'll do something where he directly gets the ball a little bit sooner than that. Probably playing like a running back or something like that in that sense to where he can or maybe even a slot wide receiver quarterback is interesting because we don't see him pass too much. So you don't know how much he'll be able to pass. But, but if he was to go to a school where he can run the triple option like Cal Poly used to, then he can definitely be successful with that. Everyone talks about him maybe playing college hockey.

Right away Moses Lake came out and got on the board. A touchdown pass from Brock Clark to Case and Thomas at the beginning of the second quarter and then it was G Prep the rest of the way. A kick return touchdown from Ryan McKenna, a rushing touchdown from Ryan McKenna, a rushing touchdown From Nick Benkey to made it 42 to 7. Then Matteo Sacamono again to make it 49 7. Do we like G Prep's matchup now in the second round? I do. I mean, Lake Stevens is always known for having a good program, but the way that G Prep is playing these last two weeks that I've seen with my own two eyes has been very incredible. And I think that there, there's not, there's no one that they should really be intimidated by with how sound they are. All right, so we will likely not be back next week with an RV's GSL game of the Week week broadcast because that is likely a Saturday game.

And of course Eastern Washington football is going to have a game that day against Portland State, although we will let you know. We'll be on social media, on the website, we'll be letting you know. Although of course if say Gonzaga Prep or Mount Spokane makes it all the way to the Tacoma Dome, if we see them play a state championship game, in all likelihood we will do our best to be there and try to bring that to you.

But as we go to the the second round of the playoffs it's G Prep leading the way to haunting. I think they've got a chance. Yeah, I definitely think they do. They're. They, they're very sound.
