We start first with 3A boys action as the Mt. Spokane Wildcats put their 214 record on the line against the 216 east side Catholic Crusaders in here this evening. Larry Ware as Mount Spokane comes into this game with that 21 and 4 record. They defeated Mount Lake Terrace yesterday by the score of 82 to 58 to move into this game. In that game, Ryan Lafferty had a big game scoring 27 points.

Andrew Raymond added 19. Both Sam Davidson and Nalu Vargas hit big three pointers in the contest. Mount Spokane at seven total threes in the game and made pretty quick work of Montlake Terrace, outscoring them in every quarter by five or six points and pulling away for the eventual 24 point win in that ball game.

So Mount Spokane moves into this game with that win. Eastside Catholic moves in after struggling a little bit with the 17 seed Lincoln Abes who were hot late. Eastside Catholic comes up with a 5851 win in that game yesterday and that sends their winning streak now to six consecutive games. It's been a streaky season for Eastside Catholic. They have winning streaks of 7, 6 and 6, plus a four game losing streak this season.

Of course, this is a MetroLeague team. MetroLeague is dominating in this 3A tournament. Three of the four semifinal teams were Metro League teams, so that's the best league in the state. The Greater Spokane League though isn't exactly chop liver either with the league that Mt. Spokane plays in during the regular season.

So it should be a very interesting battle here between Mount Spokane and Eastside Catholic. Eastside Catholic is a very tall team. They will start two players at 6ft 10, so maybe even a little bit more size or right about the same size as Mount Spokane as they start Jecory Irvin at 6:11 and Jelani Irvin at 6:8. So here you've got Jacob Kofi who is 6:10 a signee to play for Tony Bennett at the University of Virginia. Kofi had a big game yesterday against Lincoln.

19 points, 12 rebounds, 5 assists and 3 block shots. He is joined by Yabby Oklog who is a 610 sophomore who had 16 points, nine boards and three blocks in their win against Lincoln yesterday. Those were the two guys. That's 35 of their 58 points. They were able to push it inside, take advantage of Lincoln.

We'll see how Mount Spokane can deal with the size of Eastside Catholic here in this ballgame, Mount Spokane versus East side Catholic. We will tell you which team these two whoever wins today will play in the championship game and we'll see who plays in the consolation game. We'll also tell you about what happened today in the Greater Spokane League. Two games have been finished. They were a 5946 winner over O' Day this afternoon as they just bombed O' Day in that ball game. It was the final score was a lot closer than what it really was as far as the final in that game. So Rainier beach will play in the championship game against the winner of this game. O' Day will play the loser of this game at 11:15 tomorrow in a game for third and fifth place earlier today in the Greater Spokane League. Loser out. Boys. Action. North Central was eliminated today. They lost to Garfield 71 to 58.

They played without Jacore Irvin who I don't know if he was ejected from the game yesterday, but he had a bad play at the end of the game and was pulled out of the game and he did not play in that game. So North Central lost to Garfield. Their season is over, but great season for Robert Socrate and the North Central Wolf pack. On the 4A boys side, Gonzaga Prep lost today to Kentwood by the score of 72 to 68. So Prep's season has ended and Matty McIntyre congratulations to he and his team for their trek to Tacoma.

The Gonzaga Prep girls will be playing same time as this game and we'll try to keep you up to date with that game as they will take on Davis in the semifinals of the 4A girls tournament. Camas was leading Sumner in the other 4A semifinal, so the winner of that game will play the winner of the prep game against Davis coming up. And then later tonight right after our game here, it'll be the Mead Girls taking on the Snohomish Panthers in a battle of the panthers in the 3A girls semifinals. Mount Spokane comes in with a 21 and 4 record on the season. This portion of our pregame show presented by the Divine Corporation in their fast march located throughout Spokane. For Mount Spokane, they've got to be able to battle the size. They've had to do this at times this season. They know how to deal with it.

But the tallest wildcat is 6 foot 5. Eastside Catholic starts two players at 6:10. They bring a 68 guy in off the bench. Rarely will a 6, 6, seldom used forward come into the game, but they're 6, 4, 6, 3 on the wings. It's a tall team and a lot of athleticism on this east side Catholic team.

So how does Mount Spokane deal with that and then just the pace of the game for Eastside Catholic, that's what they've got to be concerned about. Mount Spokane wants to get up and down, and Eastside Catholic isn't that necessarily up and down type of team. So at which pace is this game being played? That's going to be the big question in this ball game. Who's going to end up in better position because of them getting to play at the pace at which they want to play.

So those are a couple of keys to the game presented by the Divine Corporation and and their fast marks throughout Spokane. So as I mentioned earlier, we've got the girls game coming up after this. All right. Tacoma Dome the side of the WIAA Hardwood Classic 3A semifinals coming up as Mount Spokane takes on east side Catholic with the winner to play Rainier beach tomorrow in the finals. The loser will play O' Day at 11:15 tomorrow for third and fifth place. The Greater Spokane League needs officials. Whether it's softball or track and field or whatever, it happens to be baseball, etc etc.

A look at their starting lineup. It is Dash Lamble Ingram who will start at point guard. He is five nine and a sophomore. Also starting on the wings will be Nate crone, he is a 64 senior. And Kaden Green, he is a 63 senior.

And then in the posts they have two of them, 6ft 10. Yabby Aklong, he is a sophomore at 610 and then Jacob Kofi starts at 610 a senior. Kofi in the post against Raymond. Turn, puts up a shot and scores off the backboard. And so there is Jacob Kofi down in the low post right away. And it's two nothing in favor of Eastside Catholic. Lafferty in forecourt with it being hounded by a player much shorter and Lame Bullingram.

Lafferty drives right to the rim, hooks a pass out Vargas, top of the key. Vargas probes in, feeds Raymond short corner drives, gets it to Lafferty. Down the left corner, out to Vargas. His three pointer is off the iron. The rebound into the hands of Acklog for Eastside Catholic.

We played 45 seconds. Eastside Catholic with a two nothing lead. They dump it into the post again to Kofi. He'll skip it out into the left corner now to Krone. Krone wants to drive.

Starts to back in on the smaller Smith. Goes up for a shot. Kind of a wild shot. No good. Rebound bounded up off the backboard, grabbed by Aklog.

And his layup is good. So Yadi Aklog with the rebound. Basket 4. Nothing in favor of Eastside Catholics. They've gone inside with a rebound basket.

Just a low post basket early on. Here's Smith dribbling to the left wing. Kicks it up top to Gardner. They leave him alone now to Vargas on the right wing. Vargas will feed it out to Lafferty out between the circles.

Lafferty wants to drive off the screen. Shoots a left elbow jumper. Swish a 16 footer for Ryan Lafferty. And it's four two now in favor of Eastside Catholic as Lafferty gets the first hoop of the ball game into the forecourt. Dash Lambling for Eastside Catholic.

He dribbles down the right side, has the dribble on a string there. Now goes off a screen to the middle of the floor. And a bounce pass over to Green on the left wing. Dumps into Lopost's left side. Kofi into the lane, kicks it out into the corner.

Lambel Ingram now to Crone. Up top Green. He'll hoist a three from 20 off the iron. Rebound run down by Gardiner in the left corner. From Mount Spokane ahead to Vargas.

Here he comes. Six minutes left in the first quarter. Now to Lafferty on the right wing. Shovels that out on top to Gardner. He'll feed it back on the left wing.

Now to Smith. McKay. Smith wants to drive. Does. Has the ball stripped away and a foul is called.

Now he was going up and they'll give him two shots. I don't think McKay was going to shoot that ball, but he was up in the air and when you rise to shoot, even though he was going to pass, I think they give him two shots here on this play. So to the foul line. Shooting two is McKay Smith. Smith, the senior, 5ft 10 inches tall.

His first free throw is good. Hit the front iron, then the backboard, and then drops down through the net. GSL basketball, presented in part by Eastern Washington University, a proud supporter of our hometown teams. Free throw is up, it is down. And just like that, we are tied at four as McKay Smith gets a couple of free throws.

Full court pressure put on here. Just one man. Pressure here. Smith trying to keep it out of the hands of Lame Bull Ingram. They get it into Kofi, and now he gets it to Lame Bolingrum.

And he'll cross the timeline down the right side into the four court. Lanebelinggram dribbling out there, dribbles into the wing, picks up that dribble, skips it cross court to green. He'll jump it in a low post, left side. Kofi, he's surrounded and has the ball slapped away. But a foul is called on Nalu Vargas.

Vargas coming down on help. They surrounded Kofi with four players as soon as he got the ball down in there in the low post. And Vargas went down there, slapped the ball away. But the officials say he got a piece of the arm as well of Kofi. First foul on Vargas.

First team foul on the Wildcats. Ready to bring it in lane Bolingrum baseline to the left in fourth court. Gets it in left, left corner to a green. Out it comes now to Acklog. He'll feed.

High post at the foul line. Kofi faces up on Raymond, shoots one from 12ft. A step inside the arc. No good. Offensive rebound.

Acklog feeds underneath lame Bull Ingram. He goes up in the sea of trees, such so to speak. And it's fouled. And it's Jackson Rain and who had just come into the game that gets hit with that foul. Rain and came in replacing McKay.

No, he came in replacing Gardner and on Rain. And it's his first foul in the second team foul. Free throw by the smallest man on the floor. Dash Lame bull Ingram at 5:9 is good. And Eastside Catholic takes a 5, 4 lead.

Second free throw coming now for the sophomore point guard. Scored six points in their game yesterday. And he hits that free throw and it's 6, 4 now in favor of the Crusaders of Eastside Catholic. Dribbling the ball in backcourt against the pressure of Lane Bull Ingram is Lafferty. And he brings it up the left side and now underhands it to Vargas.

He'll underhand it to Smith. A little. Three man weave now to Rain. In over on the left wing to Vargas. Vargas dribbles once, feeds Lafferty up top.

Lafferty off a screen, drives, dumps it inside. Rainen takes it to the hole. Has his pass deflected. But it goes to Raymond. Now to Vargas.

He'll shoot a floater on the run and hit it. A ten footer over Acklog. Tough shot. Nice shot by Nalu Vargas. And we're all tied at six.

We played three minutes and ten seconds here in the first quarter. Dribbling the ball in the left wing, it's Krone dribbles to the baseline spins, gives it now to Kofi. He'll jump it over to Lane ball. Ingram, he drives to the baseline, gets cut off, feeds it out to Acklog, now to Krone. Inside Kofi.

Double team down in the post. Pitch out, top of the key. Green drive. Shoots a runner off Glass. No good.

Offensive rebound. Acklog put back, no good. But he is fouled. And Aklog will go to the free throw line to shoot two here. And it looked like the foul is going to be called on Nalu Vargas.

And if that's the case, that's his second personal foul and the team's third already on Mount Spokane. Until the free throw line. Shooting two, it's Yabby Aklog. And the free throw is good for the sophomore. 16 points, nine rebounds, three block shots yesterday.

Raymond leaves as Gardner is back in for Mount Spokane. And Sam Davidson is in. And now Lou Vargas is out of the game. Second free throw now. It's up and it's good.

Aklog gets them both 86 in favor of Eastside Catholic. 425 remaining to play here in the first quarter as Lafferty is being hounded by lame Bullingram, but crosses the timeline, Gets it up top rain and drives into the key. Can't shoot. Underhands it out. Bad pass, stolen away.

Lame Boling Ingram behind the back dribble. Takes it into the lane, takes it to the rim. Bounce pass, goes right to rain. In for Mount Spokane. But then he loses it.

Picked up by Kofi. He passes inside to Ingram. That is knocked away from him. And finally Kofi comes up with it and lays it in. So Jacob Kofi gets the basket.

There were seven lead changes I believe in that third quarter, plus another tie. And late in the third quarter of play, Mount Spokane had the ball. And this play would give them their last lead in the game at 40 to 39.

All right, we are between games here. Mount Spokane boys lose to Eastside Catholic 55 53. We are getting ready for the 3A girls semifinal now between the Meade Panthers 20 with an 18 game winning streak as they take on the Snohomish Panthers. Cat fight here as the two Panthers. Both teams are Panthers playing one another here.

Their own lone loss this year came against Nooksack Valley by the score of 47 to 30. But they tested themselves against top notch competition. Here's who Mead has been beaten this year in non conference games.

They beat Emerald Ridge. They beat Davis. Both those teams are in the state 4A tournament. They beat Lakeside who is a semifinalist on the 3A side. And they beat Arlington, the team that lost yesterday to Snohomish during the regular season and non conference games.

So four teams, the 23824A that play that that made it to the 12 teams in Seattle. Mead beat all those teams plus they beat Gonzaga Prep this season who is playing now for the 4A championship tomorrow night against Camas. So some great wins this season for this Meade team. They are 25 one on the season, the other semifinal on the 3A girls side. It's coming up after this.

Garfield, the three time defending state champions taking on the third seed in the second seed rather in Lakeside. So that should be a whale of a game coming up after this. The winner of that game plays the winner of this game in tomorrow night's championship game which we played at 9 o' clock tomorrow night here in the Tacoma Dome. Snohomish 18 and six on the season. They lost their first three games of the year, then they won six straight, lost a game, won six more, lost another game, won five, lost another game and finally won yesterday, defeating Arlington 45 to 25, holding Arlington to five.

Made baskets in the entire game and 11% field goal shooting in the contest. Eleven teams out of 24 games this year, Snohomish has held their opponents under 40 points on the seat on the overall on the season and they've allowed 50 or more just four times this year with a high of 64 against Meadowdale. Coming up here in this ball game in just a little bit. Meade won yesterday as they defeated Bonnie Lake with a smothering defensive effort 72 to 44. They allowed Bonnie Lake to shoot 50% from the field, but Bonnie Lake only took 32 shots. They turned it over 27 times and so Mead was able to take advantage. They shot Meade 47% from the field and made 11 three pointers, five by Taran Gardner, four by Addison Wells Morrison.

Those two players combined for 51 of the 72 points. Wells Morrison had 26, Gardner had 25. She also had seven rebounds, six assists, a block shot and three steals. Did Gardner Wells Morrison had two rebounds, five assists and two steals in the ball game as Mead came away with a big win 72 to 44. It was a close game at the half.

It was 32:25 in favor of Mead. But Meade outscored Bonnie Lake 40 to 19 as this wore him down to that constant defensive pressure. And Meade gets the victory to improve to 25 and one on the season. I mentioned yesterday the ball game between between Snohomish and Arlington that was won by Snohomish by the score of 45 to 25. In that game they held Arlington to five made field goals.

Arlington was five out of 46 from the field shooting 11% for the game. In that ball game, Kendall Hammer hit three three pointers in six attempts. She had 11 points. But it was Tyler Gildersleeve Styles who scored 12 for Snohomish plus eight rebounds, four assists in that ball game. Gildersleeves Styles is a six footer.

Kathryn Green, Addison Gallatin both start at 5:11 and then you have Hammer at 5:7 and Sienna Capella Capelli at 5:9 is the other starters for Snohomish. Mead maybe a little bit smaller. They'll start Bryn Smith at 511, Addison Wells Morrison at 6ft tall. But you know, regardless, either way it is. We'll see what happens here on the floor tonight as Mead takes on Snohomish at the Tacoma Dome.

So let's give you the starting lineups for this ball game. First off for the Snohomish Panthers, coached by Ken Roberts. They will start at the guard spots.

Kendall hammer. She is 5 7, a sophomore. She scored 11 points including three made three pointers in their ballgame yesterday, the win over Arlington. Also at guard, Sienna Capelli, another sophomore. She is 5 9.

She had nine points and seven rebounds in that ball game yesterday. So Capelli and Hammer in the backcourt, a couple of sophomores and up front a big front line. Addison Gallatin is 5 11. She is a senior. She had 3.

7 rebounds in the ball game yesterday. Katherine Green, 5' 11, a senior. She had four points in the game. And then Tyler Gildersleeve Styles. She is a six footer, a junior.

She had 12 points, eight rebounds and four assists. So again for Snohomish, Hammer and Capelli on the backcourt. With Gallatin Green and Gildersleeve Styles on the front line for the Meade Panthers, coached by Quanta Anderson. They will start Taryn Gardner at guard. She is five nine, a senior, 25 points, seven rebounds, six assists, three steals and a block.

Hit a five out of 11 three pointers yesterday. Gardner starts at the point on the wing. Reese Frederick, 5 9, a sophomore, she scored four points yesterday. And Addison Wells Morrison, the six foot sophomore who had 26 points and five assists in yesterday's contest. Bryn Smith starts, a 5' 11 senior.

She had four points and five rebounds in yesterday's game. And Mia Sear, a 5' 10 senior, is the other starter. Cyr had eight points in that ballgame yesterday. So again, for me, the familiar starting lineup with Gardner, Frederick, Wells, Morrison, Smith and Cyr on the floor, as I mentioned, Snohomish. They have had two six game winning streaks and a five game winning streak this season.

They won their last game obviously yesterday against Arlington. 45:25. That is a common opponent these teams have. Arlington as we are getting set for the tip off here in this ball game now as the starting lineups have been introduced and the Mead girls gather near the center circle for a team huddle. And then they'll head back to Quanta Anderson and the bench here in just a moment or two.

Frederick, the left hander tosses in the first basket of the game for meade. And it's 3:2 in favor of the Panthers. Full court pressure in the backcourt. Hammer gets it to Capelli. She'll get in the forecourt, to Gallatin down the left side.

Gallatin will feed it back out to Capelli. The sophomore picks up her dribble. Gardner hounding her as she pivots around trying to find somebody to pass it to. Finds Gildersleeve style. Now it goes to Green.

Her pass out, batted away out of bounds by Wells. Morrison with 6:36 remaining to play here in the first quarter of play. Meade on top, 3 to 2. Snohomish retains possession. And it'll be Hammer bringing it in the sophomore yard.

And she will get into her fellow sophomore Capelli. Capelli drives by Gardiner, gets it to the baseline. Here's Hammer pitches out, top of the key, three pointer. Gallatin. That is no good.

Off the iron. The rebound taken out by Wells Morrison. She'll lead the break back the other way. Bounce pass Smith for a layup shot. That is too strong.

No good. Rebound tipped around and taken by Gildersleeve. Styles for Snohomish. Now to Capelli, who will trot up into the forecourt. Bounce pass, left side to Green.

Again the give and go. Off the hands though, this time of Gildersleeve. Styles cut into the basket and the pass out of bounds. It'll be Mead basketball. So Panthers out to a three two lead.

We've played a minute and 53 seconds. And here comes Taron Gardner up into the four corner. Being overplayed, making her go to her left here by Capelli. Gives it away on the left wing to Morrison. Well, or Wells Morrison.

She'll dribble across the top to the right side, pull up, deal it out. Smith, top of the key 3, 20 footer on the way off the back rim.

Snohomish got the first basket but Meade got the lead at 3 to 2. Snohomish took their final lead at 43 and then Mead ran off five straight. Actually they ran off eight straight points. A Gracie Wenkheimer three put him on top 11 to 4 and they led it 11 to 6 at the end of the first quarter. Apply a another three pointer, this one by Reese Frederick made it 14 to 6.

Snohomish got it down to within 14 to 10 after a couple of baskets from Tyler Gildersleeve Styles. They still only trailed by four at 16 to 12 and that's when Gracie Wenkheimer went to work. She made three three pointers, the last of which gave Meade a 25 to 12 lead in the first half. They upped the lead to 14 at 26 to 12 and then the basket by Thornton at the end of the half puts Mead on top at the intermission by the score of 29 to 14 and Mead has a 15 point lead and Taryn Gardner didn't score.

Gardner averages roughly 20 points per ballgame. She did not score in the first half. She caused all sorts of havoc out there for Snohomish, but she didn't get any points for Snohomish or for a Mead in that first half of play. When we come back, we'll have more after this timeout. I'm not in Tacoma, I'm in Spokane. We're calling this game remotely. I have no idea whether that shot was good or not. There was a timeout afterwards and so I'm assuming it was good. The video, if you're watching the video and listening to me, you see that the video didn't show whether the shot was good or not.

So I'm assuming it was good because timeout was taken afterwards by I think Snohomish. Now it could be that the rebound was grabbed by Mead and they took the timeout. So we'll have to wait and see what the score says when we come back. But I haven't wanted to mention this throughout the game that we're not in Tacoma, but I think I have to there just because I have no idea whether that shot was good or not. The Score still says 54, 44, but I'm assuming that was a made basket.

All right, in this one, Snohomish had a couple of early leads at 2 to nothing and 4 to 3. So we had two lead changes in this ball game. No ties in this ball game. So Mead down four to three. They ran eight consecutive points at Gracie Wenkheimer three made it 114 a game.

That would be a theme throughout this ball game game, the Gracie Winkheimer three. So it was 11 to 4 at that point and Snowmish got a couple of points on two foul shots, seeing four attempts and they trailed 11 to six at the end of the first quarter. Reese Frederick three up the lead to eight at 14 to eight. Snomish cut it to four at 14 to 10. They were still down four at 16 to 12 when we released a barrage of threes.

Three straight that ballooned the lead from 20 from 16 to 12 to 25 to 12. Mead got the lead to 14 at 26 to 14 and they led it 2914 at the intermission. Still led by 15 at 31 to 16. Led still by 15 at 37 to 22. And that was the late in the third quarter of play.

And all of a sudden back came Snohomish. They cut the lead to seven early in the fourth quarter at 39:32. They got to within six at 44 to 38, then to within five at 46 to 41 as they had a barrage of their own three pointers going as Kendall Hammer ended up hitting three in the fourth quarter. Cora Larson, or rather Lizzy Allen hit one and Addison Gallatin hit two in the fourth quarter of place. So Snohomish got it back to within five.

But then this basket by Gracie Wenkheimer up the lead back to eight and it's our play of the game presented by our friends at Adams Tractor. This is this segment is being presented by State Bank Northwest. So in the Greater Spokane League today, first game of the day, North Central was eliminated in the 3A boys game. They lost to Garfield 71 58. But congratulations to North Central on a fantastic year. Congratulations to Gonzaga Prep boys.

They were also eliminated today, a loss to Kentwood 7268 in the 4A boys loser out game. And Gonzaga Prep will not get to bring home a trip trophy, but the other Greater Spokane League teams will. Tomorrow night at 5 o', clock, Gonzaga Prep girls will play the top seed Camas for the state 4A girls championship. And I think if I'm not mistaken, Prep lost to Camas, yeah, 53:31 in the opening round last weekend. So they'll get a rematch in tacoma tomorrow at 5.

And then Mount Spokane they lost 55:53, a heartbreaker to Eastside Catholic. Mount Spokane plays tomorrow morning at 11:15 against O' Day for third and fifth place.
