Well, next year the North Central Wolfpack will not have to play their homecoming game at Union Stadium. They'll be able to play their homecoming game in all likelihood in the new stadium in downtown Spokane.

But for now they are playing their homecoming game here at Union Stadium and tonight the Wolfpack look for their first win of the year as they take on the West Valley Eagles with Paul Sorensen, Larry Ware, producer engineer Steve Price alongside. As always and for North Central, it's been a tough year. So far. This portion of our pregame show presented by lamar advertising, they are. 05.

They didn't score the first three weeks of the year, then they got a fourth quarter touchdown against Clarkston. Offense came alive a little bit last week in a loss to East Valley, but still, this is a team that gives up about 40 points a game and they're under a little bit of a rebuild. They don't have a whole lot of numbers to work with either and it's going to be tough for them against a West Valley team that's four, two, two and one in the GSL and winners of three in a row. And they have a lot of seniors. That's the difference.

Eight seniors on offense for West Valley, seven seniors on def. Craig Whiting. Whitney, I'm sorry, has done a really nice job with this program over the years. He's turned out players, they've gone on to college, have had success and it's just a, you know, it's a program that kind of keeps just rebuilding and reloading as opposed to North Central, which is truly in a rebuild.

Yes, West Valley, Craig Whitney, Paul mentioned him. He is the longest tenured head coach in the Greater Spokane League, beating out Dave McKenna, Gonzaga Prep for that, for that honor. And West Valley, they have to win out. They've already lost to Shadow park in the two way race and we'll talk about the two way standings here in a little bit. But this is a team that has Rogers and Pullman at home in their last two games of the year.

But they need to win here today. They do need to win and that, that was a tough game. They battled Shadow looks like they're kind of the team to beat in the 2A right now. They're doing a nice job, but I like this West Valley team. They have an excellent quarterback, they got athletes all over the place, they have senior leadership and they're doing some good stuff.

And there's still some uncertainty over the two A situation when we start thinking about the post season. So will there be two teams? Will be there, will there be three teams going into the postseason? What do you know right now, today? Well, that's exactly what I know.

There could be three teams or they could be two teams. I was assured by league officials that if the, if the cwac, the Central Washington Athletic Conference approved the plan today that they would let me know that didn't happen. So the plan that is in front of the CWAC is this, is that the number one team in the GSL will get a buy into state playoffs and then they will glue the first and second place teams from SEAWAC to the second and third place teams from the Greater Spokane League.

Now that might alternate in years, but what they're trying to do is they're trying to avoid, you know, just sending one bid out of the SeaWAC and two out of the GSL. So GSL officials think that this is going to happen. But like I said, they told me that if they knew today they were going to let me know and that didn't happen. So I assume that the SEAWAC still hasn't approved the plan. But the most likely scenario is the number one team in the GSL will get a buy in to the state playoffs and then like I said, they'll glue over the next two bids.

It's much more clear on the 3A and 4A side. Two get in and the 3A side and all three 4A teams get in. But that third place team has to play the lesser team from one of the other leagues to get the to the. So they have to play twice in a week. Basically the dreaded Tuesday play in game.

Yeah, exactly. And I think they're still finagling as to as to what seeds get which. But it sounds to me like the GSL number one and number two teams will host games and then the third place team will have to go on the road. And then in the 3A the top two seeds go, they go into the round of 32 because the 3A's there are more 3A's than any other of the rest of the classifications and they'll be seeded by RPA rank and by geography and that type of thing.

And at this point in time, Mead is the only team within the top 16 that might get a home game. Right? Mount Spokane is outside of that or have they moved up into that area? I haven't seen today rpi, but I think Mount Spokane is going to have to win a game tomorrow to move up. But right now it is just meat, I think.

And when you look at the GSL standings, you've got a 3A team and a 4A team both at the top. Gonzaga Prep, Mount Spokane, they play next week, but both have to win obviously this week to set up that undefeated showdown. That's right. Mount Spokane's got probably an easier path to that this week since Gonzaga Prep has to play cv CV While they're injured. They're also mad and they're hungry and they know that another loss is going to make it really difficult for them to avoid playing that play in game because Lewis and Clark, the current number three team, probably has an easier path.

So Central Valley is kind of behind the eight ball now. So that game is tomorrow night. Dave will be out there writing about that. That'll also be our TV game on swx and so that will be an interesting ball game. And very quickly softball has ended up and they're moving on into districts now.

That's right. District 8 playoffs will start next Tuesday. I don't have the matchups yet, but as soon as we get them, I'll get them in the paper. Soccer is winding down too. They've only got one or two team, one or two regular season games to go.

Let's talk West Valley first. They've got an offense that's outstanding. Kind of revolves around Rayshawn Eaton, the quarterback. He's a senior, does a nice job, he's number one. He's got three receivers.

They run a three by one set single back in the backfield, but they like to spread the football out. They'll throw it all over the field. They've got a tight end that's pretty effective. They've got a couple of athletes on the outside, so that's going to stretch this North Central defense a little bit and, and they're big and strong up front. So it's going to be, you know, kind of a battle of wills in the trenches who's going to be able to win that one.

And I think right now West Valley has the advantage from that standpoint. Plus it's senior driven. So they've got some, some excellent quarterback play they can look forward to. Excellent athletes all over the place. Obviously you want to avoid the turnovers, play field position, but take the football and score.

That's the key and that's what West Valley wants to do. On the other side for North Central. Aaron woods has done a nice job. He's been there a year or two and you know, it's a difficult program. They just don't have the depth right now.

They don't have the athletes and they're just trying to rebuild this thing and they run kind of a fly sweep, roll out one back type offense and they're going to do some things from a standpoint of trying to trick you a little bit, but they can't turn the football over. They can't get in a field position battle with West Valley. They've got to be able to sustain some drives and keep their defense off the field, keep them a little bit fresh and they've got to put football in the end zone, which they had a difficult time doing the first three weeks of the season.

So I think this is going to be a tough ask for North Central tonight because West Valley's a good football team and they're, they're fighting for their playoff life where on the other side North Central's fighting for win. North Central coming out now. They're going to start this drive on the, on the 23 yard line and they just need to put together, you know, some first downs, get some momentum, get a little tempo going with this offense. That's something they really need haven't had last couple weeks. So Tommy Elliott, the quarterback, he's got Trey Workman as the running back, line to his right here. And two wide receivers set to either side.

First and 10, ball in the right hash at their own 23. Shotgun snap back to Elliott, Takes the knee, high snap, throws the right handed pass. That is incomplete. Looking for Nick Elliot, who was well covered on the play by West Valley's Jake Barker, the linebacker. It'll be second down, the senior and the captain.

Nice job. Stayed right in the shoulder. Really tough to feather that ball in there. Not much of a window. Pretty good protection by North Central up front.

Gave him time to throw. Just excellent coverage in the secondary. Really no place to go. So again. Well, this time around they'll have a tight end set to the right.

Two receivers split left, one man wide right, second and 10 at their own 23. Tommy Elliott again out of the gun. Five players on the line for West Valley now. Motion coming through, fakes the fly sweep, hands it off to Workman, running to the right side, cuts back and dives out to the 25 yard line for a gain of two. It'll be third and long.

Good vision that time. It looked like they're going to try to bounce that to the tight side of the field. He cut back against the grain, but nice, nice defense that time by West Valley. They just stayed in their gaps, slid down the line of scrimmage and really did. Gave the running back no place to go.

So just they squeezed that play very nicely from the defensive end into the tackle. So our first third down of the ballgame. Third and eight for North Central at their own 25 from the right hash again, four wide, two to either side. Running back to the left of the quarterback, Tommy Elliott, who takes a waist high snap, fakes the handoff, now spins out to the left side, throws to the sidelines. Leaping grab and it'll be near a first down.

I believe they may get that first down. That's Elijah Williams on the catch, out to the 33. Damon Orthodontics, first down. Actually, I thought he was closer to the 34 because he caught it on about the 35, came back to the 34 and they misspotted that thing. Fortunately, it was enough for the first down.

They're going to move the chains here and nice job. Little rollout action to the left side, a little boot and a nice route by the wide receiver to pick that thing up. And he did everything right in that play. Larry went past the first down marker by a couple Yards came back, caught the football. Just not a good spot by the side judge here.

So again, two receivers to either side. Now they'll move Nick Elliott over to the right side so have a three by one set. Three men split to the right, one to the left, ball on the left hash. Here comes the blitz. Tommy Elliott throws quickly, has a catch at the 40.

And getting tackled immediately at the 41 yard line is Cameron Dewey. And flags are down in the play. So let's see whether this will hold up. It would be an 8 yard gain, but I'm guessing we're going to have a false start in illegal procedure here. Illegal shift.

Well, interesting, you know, and that was a good blitz read that time by North Central. They saw both the inside backers shoot the A gap. So he went down about 5 yards, a wide receiver to the tight side of the field, turned around, turned back inside, gave his quarterback a really good spot to throw to and hit him right in the chest. So other than the shift there, they're going to move that back five yards. And those are the things you can't afford when you're an offense that's struggling a little bit.

You're starting to play behind the chains, you get a really nice play on first down, you get it wiped out by a penalty that hurts. They have hurt themselves on many occasions this year, have the North Central Wolf Pack. They were scoreless against pullman in their second game of the year. In the second quarter of play, drove down to the pullman team 22, could not get a score and ended up losing that game by big numbers. And last week had a long touchdown pass called back because of a penalty.

On 1st and 15, they hand it to Workman. He goes off the right side and will get out to about the 30 yard line before he is hit and brought down. And it'll be second down and long here. Workman's going to see the film and if he'd have cut left, Michael McCullough, the right tackle, kind of caved down that side there, created a nice little hole. He got a little tunnel vision and decided to go back towards where the center was.

And that's where all the guys in the white shirts were. So sometimes, remember, slow to the hole, quick through it. Give your eyes a chance to settle and see where that hole is and then get there. Dylan Hyde in on that tackle. Second and 13 now for the Wolfpack at their own 30.

Ball on the left, hash trips right, one man split to the left, quick throw out to the left side. Caught by Dewey Breaks a tackle up the sidelines. 40, 45 over the 50 and is finally dragged out of bounds, I believe. Inside the 45 yard line. Yes.

Down at the 43 yard line. That's a big pass and gain. A pass and run gain in the first down. Nice job by doing. He showed some speed, Larry, once he broke that tackle.

His yak yards, yards after contact was very impressive. And he showed some pretty good little get up and go once he broke that tackle and got it inside the 45 yard line. Biggest play of the game so far and best play of the night for the Wildcats. I'm sorry. Gain at 27 yards on the play.

First down and 10 in the Eagle territory at the 43 yard line. Again, four wide receivers to either side. Ball on the left hash. Tommy Elliott, the quarterback takes the shotgun snap, face mask high, fades back pressure runs to the left. He's going an opening inside the 40.

Breaks a tackle inside the 30. Down to about the 27 yard line. Another Damon orthodontics. First down, Tommy Elliott. A run of 16.

Nice job by Tommy. He dropped back in his initial look. Everybody was covered. The left side kind of collapsed down. They were running a stem where they were basically slanting to the wide side of the field.

He just came back to the tight side of the field. There's a nice natural hole there. Picked up some good speed, broke a tackle and was able to get that first down and move the sticks here. And this is a great drive for North Central to start this game. Inside of nine minutes remaining.

First quarter scoreless game. First and 10 for the Wolfpack, down at the Eagle to 27. Ball on the left hash. One receiver to the left. Two men split to the right again.

Elliott out of the shotgun, starts motion from Dewey. They hand it to him on the fly sweep, then he drops the ball. And who's got it? Either Dewey has it for North Central or Sar Washington has it for West Valley. And the officials will say it is Dewey that comes away with it.

Just wanted to run before he got it. I think there a loss of three. Took a little peak and that's, that's easy to do. You know, you want to look and see where your blockers are, but you've got to secure the football. You've got to look that thing in, get that to the outside shoulder there.

And I think he took a little bit of a peek and just did not corral that football. Wasn't a bad handoff. It was just a bad receiving of the handoff that caused that fumble. So second and 13 now for North Central. They have it at the 30 yard line of West Valley.

Three receivers split right, one to the left, ball near the center of the field. Elliott to throw. Deep ball left side looking for Dewey. One on one coverage. Dewey makes the catch.

Touchdown North Central. That was a great play by Dewey. A pretty good throw by the quarterback Elliott. But Dewey just going up over the top of the corner to haul that one in. That is a 30 yard passing touchdown and North Central takes the first lead of the game.

He's got 57 yards, Larry, on two catches to start the game. That 27 yarder and then that touchdown catch right there. So how about that? Nice job by Dewey and a great throw by Elliott. So North Central has a better than four minute drive.

They're missing a player. Now they bring a guy in on the point after try here and we're not sure who the kicker is. He is not listed on the roster and his boot is good. It is a line drive but it is through. We'll take a break.

Alright, so our mysterious number 41 is kicking off here and two men back deep to receive for West Valley. Here's the run forward and a short end over end boot downfield.

That will go out of bounds and so the flag will come in and West Valley will get pretty good field position here with the ball at their 35 yard line, I believe here. Yeah, they're going to move that up again. You know, they just tried to kind of grub kick that line drive that thing and think it just squirted off the right side of his foot and went out of bounds on the West Valley sideline. So West Valley. No, you know, that's not what they wanted to do.

Come out and give up a 77 yard drive and that's fired. North Central up. Let's see if they can get a stop now, maybe get the ball back. And the Eagles really need to put together a drive of their own here to match that touchdown. So the ball will be at the 35 yard line and the umpire is trying to figure out where the ball should be spotted now.

Should be on the hash to decide where the ball went out of bounds. And that's where he picked it up from there. Started in the middle of the field, then reversed and now is back. And the ball is on the left hash mark where it should be. Three receivers split to the right side, one man to the short side left.

Rayshawn Eaton, the quarterback takes the snap, lobs it out on the right side, has a catch. Grady walker over the 35 to the 40 and is knocked down as he gets to about the 42 or 43 yard line. Take it down on the play by Nick Elliott. But again to Grady Walker of 8 yards. That was a nice little play.

A little, just a little kind of flare to the flat. Good blocking by the wide receivers downfield. That ball took some time to get there and you know, and I know Eaton's going to have to get that ball with a little bit more zip on that thing. It allows the defense to kind of set up and get up there. But he just showed some good speed, caught the football, got some, some positive yards.

Second down and two. Time called now by our referee. They want to reset the clock. I think there was some equipment issues, it got in the way there, wanted to stop it and then reset the 25 and that's what they're doing. Second down and two now for the Eagles.

They're at their own 43 from the right hash. A quick throw out to the left side. This is a lateral to walker over the 40. Gets close to the first down and will have it as he's able to struggle forward. And he gets to the 45 yard line for a gain of two on a running play that time on the lateral to Walker.

Yeah, just a nice little play and Walker's the guy they want to get the ball to. He's such a good athlete. As Larry mentioned, he's only a junior at, you know, 190 pounds, but he's six three and. And they're doing a good job out there of blocking for him. It looks like they didn't give him the first down and I thought he got to the line to gain, so.

Wow. Well, that's a surprise third down. Now, wait a minute. Touching the white. Exactly.

It's first down and so the officials are going to talk this over here with the ball on the now they say first down. All right, very good. Way to go, fellas. Way to come together and. No, that's good.

That's a good right there. They came together, they figured it out and they figured it out correctly. Now Luke Rayner is going to put the clock back in motion here. Get this thing going. So first down and the clock should be running now.

Now it does. At their own 45 here for the Eagles. Ball on the left #again. Four wide receivers, three split to the right. Eaten out of the shotgun.

Hands it off. Breaking into the middle of the play there and getting to about the 47 is the running back Clark. Judah Clark. He'll gain two yards. It'll be second and long.

Kind of tough sledding up the middle right now. North Central is doing a nice job of, you know, that's a big offensive line for West Valley. As Larry mentioned, a couple 300 pounders up there. And they just did a good job of kind of holding serve there and making it tough for the running back to get real positive yards. Only 2 yards at first down is not what you're looking for for West Valley.

We don't have any of the weights of the West Valley or the North Central players, but they don't have a lot of big guys out here. Here's a little throw out into the right flat to Clark. He's hit behind the line, spins away, but is hit again. Fumbles the ball. Who's got it?

North Central says they have it and they do as Tommy Elliott, the starting quarterback, comes up with a fumble recovery. And I think it might have been Nick Elliott that stripped the ball and forced that fumble. And North Central will get it in West Valley territory at the 46. Boy, extra pizza for the Elliott kids there. What a great job.

Good pursuit. They ran that little flare to the flat. Took a long time for that football to get out there. Great pursuit by North Central's defense. And you're right, Nick came up, stripped that ball and then Tommy was the guy that recovered it.

So you got a force fumble on one side and a fumble recovery on the other. So a 1 yard gain on that play and then the fumble and North Central leading seven to nothing, has it at the Eagle 46 on the right, on the left hash, two receivers to either side. Tommy Elliott to throw, pump fake. Now swings it out on the right side. Caught by Workman, got a block on the outside, cuts up field, gets over the 40, has a first down and now a flag comes in as he gets to the 35 yard line.

And so I think that's going to come back, or at least some of it is going to come back there. Probably an illegal block, but it might be a face mask. It kind of came in late, yet people engaged there. But you know, it's interesting, the back judge was the one that threw that flag there. Personal foul.

Good job, Larry. Yep, it is a face mask call a personal foul and so that'll be added 15 yards to the end of the play. So 11 yards on the passing game to Workman and then another 15 on top of that for the penalty. That's the old head spinner. When you get, you know, somebody that grabs a face mask and turns your head kind of violently to the side.

That's the 15 yard variety. The old days they used to have a five yard where you grab the face mask. High school, I don't think they have a difference between 5 and 15. If you grab in the face mask, they're going to call 15 every time. So 26 yards on that play and it's first and 10 from the 20 now.

Empty backfield and it's a wildcat formation. Workman runs off left tackle and will get his way down to about the 17 yard line before he is brought down by Jake Barker, the linebacker after a three yard pickup. Yeah, Barker saw that, came up and kind of squeezed it from his, from his linebacker spot. Did a nice job of getting in there and then he just dropped his shoulder and kind of got right in the way of where the quarterback was running. The wildcat there knocked him down.

Good tackle, good fundamental on second and seven they will operate out of the shotgun workman to the right of the quarterback, Tommy Elliott. 12 seconds on the play clock trips to the left, one man wide right. Elliott looks to either side, claps his hands together, takes the face mask high snap, throws the ball to the left side, incomplete. Over the head of his intended receiver. That was Nick Elliott down at the 10 yard line.

And this is four down territory for North Central. So let's see what they do here on third and seven. They've got Dewey and one other receiver to the left. Two men wide to the right here. And Tommy Elliott takes the low shotgun snap pump fake.

Now throws to the right side, has a catch on the sidelines. I think that's Eli Williams. And he gets tossed out of bounds down at the 13 yard line. He's going to be three yards short of a first down, a gain of four and on comes the field goal team. Well, it's interesting because they sent an all out blitz that time, ma'.

Am. Coverage in the secondary and they brought the house, the chairs, the front door and everything. If he would have stepped up, Larry, there was nobody in the middle of the field. He could have walked into the end zone. Five yard gain, officially down to the 12 yard line, fourth and two and on comes the kicker here for a 29 yard field goal.

Again, we'd love to tell you this young man is, he's number 41 and they're going to have a fake on the field goal. Nick Elliott rolls out, throws to the kicker who can't hang on. Pass incomplete. And it'll be a 4 down turnover on North Central. If you're going to do that, you should go for it.

Yeah, I think he might have bobbled a snap. I think he, he caught it high, went to set it down, but he didn't have good, good placement on the thing so he picked it up and tried to. Basically you call out a color, it's usually red, which means you got to go because you know the extra point or field goal is not going to work. So I don't think that was a design fake. I think that was just a miss snap mishandled by the holder and he had to pick it up, try to make play and again, a situation where North Central may have taken points off the board with their own mistake here.

And West Valley has it at their own 12. First and 10 trips to the right. One man split to the left. Eaton takes a waist high snap, hands it off, bursting through, breaking the tackle, getting across the 20, getting out to the 25 yard line and getting thrown out of bounds. There is the ball carrier.

That's going to be a big gain. And a Damon Orthodontics first down. That is Judah Clark on the run. Nice job by the corner over there on the West Valley sidelines. He did a good job defeating the block coming up and then throwing the ball carry out of bounds, but it was too late.

12 yard gain on that run. Good blocking to the left side that time by West Valley. They created a hole and made some things happen. So it was pretty cool in terms of what was going on. Hey, guys.

So first down and 10 for West Valley. They're at their own 25 yard line here on the left hash mark. They'll have Hunter Napier wide to the right side, but two receivers slotted inside him. Eaton takes a shotgun snack, numbers high, throws down the left side, has a man open. It's Grady Walker.

He makes the catch as he inbounds. He is down at the 47 yard line. That's a whale of a catch for Grady Walker and a long play and a first down. Boy, that was a great catch. He climbed the ladder, used all 6 foot 3 inch of his frame to go up and get that and was still able to come down and get a toe in bounds on that.

That's going to be on the other side of the 50. So it's in North Central territory. And you know, and again, I think we go back to that fourth down play. Larry, I agreed with you. I thought they should have gone for it.

You know, you get a turnover, you want to get a first down, you got momentum going your way. Why ruin something in terms of potential kick there when you could, you know, maybe pick up the first down or more. 28 yards on that pickup to Grady Walker. First and 10. West Valley in Wolfpack territory at the 47.

From the left hash mark, Rayshawn Eaton runs off the left side, breaks a tackle, gets hit and dropped as he gets down to the 43 yard line. Carson Burke, the tight end, also defensive end on defense, brings him down. But Rayshawn Eaton picks up 4 yards on the play. Yeah, good job that time by Rayshawn. Nice blocking on the left side.

That seems to be the strength of this offensive line right now doing a good job of running behind those big guys over there and they're creating some lanes and just a good job that time by the backing corps from North Central to finally come up and knock Eaton down. Yeah, a couple of 300 pounders there on that left side of the offensive line. Second down and six motion coming from the left side from Walker through to the right. They'll lateral it out to him. He catches at a 49 yard line, dances around one man and is dropped at the 44.

That's a loss of a yard. Nice defensive play out there by Nick Elliott for North Central to bring him down for a loss of one. Too slow that play. It develops too slow on that. I think they're setting them up with a double, you know, maybe a double pass or basically fake that little bubble screen to the outside to the wide side of the field and let your wide receivers that have been blocking now release downfield because those corners and safeties are coming up so hard to try to defend that play.

They're going to run right by the guys and I think you could have a big play for West Valley here. So a loss actually of two on that play. Third and eight now for West Valley at the North Central 45. North Carolina leading seven nothing late first quarter. Eaton takes a shotgun snap, runs straight up the middle, bounces to his right, has a first down over the 40, down to the 35.

Give him to the 34 yard line. That was Rayshawn Eaton just. That was a designed run, Paul. Gain of 11. I like that play.

That was a good job. Nice block by the right guard as right tackle as they sealed both of their guys. And he was able to get through the line of scrimmage before the linebacker was able to get over there. Before you know it, lickety split safeties have to make the tackle. Clock continues to run 240 here in the first quarter.

Wolfpack up seven nothing ball on the right hash mark. And they will send two receivers to the left side tight to the formation along with a tight end to the left and one man wide, Napier to the right. They will toss, sweep it to the left side. This is to Clark getting hit and dropped by Nick Elliot as he gets down to the 20 yard line. But that'll be a four yard game.

Just the old student body right. USC tough sweep, gain of four. Nice job by the tight end. Jackson Bale out there, number 33 is also captain as he was able to seal the defensive end, it kind of kicked him out which opened up some positive running room again. He getting 4, 3, 4, 5 yards on first down.

That's exactly what this offense needs to kind of function at a very high level. So second down and six, they'll operate out of the pistol now with the running back four yards behind the quarterback. He fakes the toss sweep now runs to the left side and should have a first down near the 14 yard line. Let's see where they'll put him as Rayshawn Eaton runs. Gains about six and it looks like it'll be good for a first down.

Tommy Elliott was out there, number nine making the tackle. That guy's all over the place, you know, not only is he the starting quarterback, but he also had a fumble recovery as well. Well, and just unfortunately for North Central, they were not able to convert, get some points out. So the officials give him inside the 15 but short of the 14. So statistically the 15 yard line and that means it's third down and less than a yard.

Eaton the quarterback, two tight ends, two receivers, split right here's snap back, they hand it off. Picking his way in, cut into his left. Judah Clark spins out of a tackle, gets down close to the 15 yard line before he's finally stacked up. Another Damon Orthodontics. First down and a pick up to the 16 of 9 yards.

Clark is only 160 pounds, but he's got excellent vision. Did a nice job of stepping out of the tackle there. Right at the line of scrimmage. Looks like it's going to be a no gainer, but he made that guy miss and they've got positive yards on first down. They hand it to Clark again, tries to bounce outside on the right, gets stopped.

Now cuts back to the left, gets inside the five yard line and is finally knocked down as he gets to the four. It's a first down run for Judah Clark. They had him stopped a couple of times on the play, but couldn't bring him down. Gain of 11 yards. Good feet.

He's got really good feet there. His ability to make people miss. He can stop on a dime and just do a great job of getting up field. That first down, goal to go. Ball at the four yard line from the left hash.

Here's a run. Rayshawn Eaton up the middle. He goes diving into the end zone. Is he there? Flag is down.

Face mask. I think no touchdown signal. I thought he landed on the guy and then across the plane, you know, got that ball across. So again, kind of a tough spot for West Valley on that. And if this is A penalty.

It'll be about an inch. That's how close they are to the line to the end zone. The official spotted him short. So Eaton is short. And if it is a face mask penalty, again, like Paul said, it's not going to really get him any yardage here.

The official still talking it over. I thought, you know, when he was spun, they kind of spun him around and the tackler basically was laying on the ground and Eaton laid on top of him and then rolled over the goal line. I thought he scored on that. I would agree with you. So the ball is taken from a couple of inches to away from the goal, to an inch away or however long.

It's not much. The ball is very near the goal line here. First down over again, probably the least penalized penalty we've ever seen in terms of yardage because it was maybe an inch, maybe. So first down and goal. They get the down back anyway from inside the one.

Eaton now under center and Yep. And they. He wanted a quick snap there and I think he almost pushed the center over. You know, it's funny because that's the one thing you see, see, you know, in the old days, everybody used to go up from underneath the center. Now everybody is in shotgun formation.

So when you come up under the center, it's kind of a weird, you know, situation. But you just gave up five yards because you were doing the lurch and you know, and bump there. You basically weren't set. You tried to roll forward, center didn't snap you the ball. That's going to be a five yard penalty every time.

So the ball is back out to the just over the five yard line and it'll be first and goal from just outside the five clock. Running inside. 30 seconds left here in the first quarter. Three receivers, two to the right. Eaton takes a snap, hands it off.

Running to the right side is Judah Clark. Breaking tackles, trying to fight for the end zone. Still battling and is stopped near the two. That'll be a gain of about three yards for Judah Clark and they'll bring up second down and goal here. And it's also going to take us to the end of the first quarter of play, it looks like.

Two backs in the backfield with Rashaun Eaton and no wide receivers on this play. Everybody in tight to the formation. Eaton out of the shotgun, takes the snap, hands it to Judah Clark, cuts back to his left, is tripped up and is stopped short. Yep, that time his knee hit the ground. He had a hole to the right side too.

He cut back left. That thing was just about to open up there and then he saw it cut back. Sometimes those great feet will get you in trouble. If he would have stayed right, he scores. He walks in and the tackle made I believe by Michael McCullough, the biggest of the North Central defensive lineman in there who got a little penetration and so now it's third and goal from the one.

That's the thing we talk about. Players going both ways are going to get tired, especially into third into the fourth quarter. Something to keep an eye on. Same formation, everybody in tight on third and one. Eaton runs up the middle, breaks a tackle, spinning, twisting, trying to get to the end zone.

Rashawn Eaton finally able to get in there and that took a while for that to happen, but he gets the touchdown and West Valley a point after away from tying this game. Good drive and a nice job by this West Valley offense to come back and kind of on the ropes here in the first quarter.

Today our STCU touchdown drive recap an 88 yard drive for West Valley with Rashawn Eaton running it in from a yard out. That makes it a 77 game end over end kick. Downfield. Nick Elliott takes it at the 5, runs to his left, crosses the 15, gets to the 20, bounce outside of the numbers, over the 25 across the 30 and is out to about the 33 yard line. Breaking tackles along the way.

That's just a freshman looking pretty good there. Gets it up to the 33. That's where the wolf pack will have it to start this drive. West Valley had a guy that was downfield in great position, but he was going full speed and he didn't break Down. He didn't drop his hips and get in a good football tackling position.

Just ran right by the return guy because he was going so fast. So sometimes you get there, you've got to settle, stay in your lane, break down, read the belly button, see if you can make a play. So first down and 10 now for the Wolf Pack. Ball on the left hash at their own 33. They've got Eli Williams and Elliott splitting to the left side and two men wide to the right here.

Tommy Elliott the quarterback out of the shotgun formation, running back to his right. Elliott takes the snap, fades back. Pressure coming from the outside, throws short, has a catch, but not for much as far as yardage goes. Nick Elliott tackled immediately there by West Valley's linebacker Tommy price after a 1 yard pickup. Nice read that time by Tommy Read.

The quarterback's eyes settled down, you know, in that middle linebacker spot. Turned his hips inside, saw the receiver coming across. Soon as he caught, he put a shoulder pad right in his chest. Very nice job. Drove him to the ground, then helped them up like a gentleman.

Well done. Second down and nine. Ball in the center of the field. Dewey splits to the left side. The other three receivers go to the right.

Tommy Elliott out of the gun. Four man down in the line. Four man rush. Elliott to throw deep right side looking for Eli Williams. And that is incomplete.

Overthrown into the boundary coverage by Ashton Zettle, the cornerback. So it'll be third down and nine now. Yeah, good coverage out there. Nice job. He knew right where the corner, knew right where the wide receiver was and where the sideline was.

So he just walled him off, stated his inside shoulder. That ball drifted out of bounds. That's the thing that drive coaches nuts. You really have no chance to catch that football because you throw a ball 2, 3 yards out of bounds, you know, throw it down that run down the numbers and then you've got six, seven yards. You can make adjustments on the ball and let it drift to the sidelines then.

So now third and nine empty backfield. Five wide receivers, three split to the right, two split to the left. Ball in the center of the field. Tommy Elliott marks out the signals. Looking now to the right side.

He's down to two on the play clock. Down to one. They start motion and they're going to get hit with a delay a game call here. Think your wide receiver on the this side basically was lined up and properly. He had to get up on the line of scrimmage.

And he didn't do that, he did it too late. Quarterback couldn't put anything in motion because they were improperly aligned. So another five yard penalty on North Central for a delay a game. And that will mark the ball back to the 29. And so now instead of third and nine, it's third and 14 here early.

Second quarter, we're in a 77 tie. Two receivers split to either side. Rios, Mance and Williams are split to the right side. Dewey and Elliot, Nick Elliott wide to the left. Tommy Elliott takes the snap, fakes the handoff, rolls down to the right side, being pursued, throws to the sidelines, has a catch.

Eli Williams at the 35, up the sidelines and is out of bounds at the 37 yard line. It looks like that's a gain of eight yards, but well short of a first down. Nice job by Williams that time to come back, catch that ball with two hands, make the corners miss. We're seeing some good play by the wide receivers right now on yards after contact. They're doing a nice job of catching the ball still.

They were too far back behind the change because of that five yard penalty. Just couldn't make enough on third down to give them a chance here to maybe go for it on 4th. They're gonna have to punt it away. Cameron Dewey to punt. It's fourth down and seven.

They scrimmage from the 36. Here's the punt away. And it's away from the return man. Hits inside the 40, bounces across the 35, rolling toward the 30 and will be down at about the 32 yard line. And that's where West Valley will have the ball with 945 remaining.

Two men split to the left, motion out of the backfield to the left side. Rashad Eaton will run into the middle, has a first down, bowls over a defender, crosses the 45. He's a big, powerful quarterback listed at 6 to 210 pounds. He takes it up to the 48A. Damon Orthodontics.

First down, gain of 7. Riles beat Scott 65. The right guard basically did a nice job. He pulled, but he stayed in the hole. He didn't go block anybody.

He kind of got in the way of the quarterback. So offensive line coaches will all say, hey, just keep going up the hole until you find a guy with a different number. Then put your helmet on him. Don't stand in the middle of the hole. So first down and 10.

Ball at their own 48 out of the gun. Eaton hands it off to. Gives it away to Clark, who spins off the left side and crosses midfield. Grabbed by an ankle tackle and put down as he gets to the 49 yard line. Marco Serafin, the linebacker, brings him down for North Central gain of three.

Seraphin's been a busy bee. That's his third tackle already on the day. He's done a nice job of kind of sniffing that play out. And I like, I like this running back, Clark. He's elusive.

He does a nice job. He's not real big, but he does a really nice job. Job of staying low and kind of keeping the center of gravity and making it tough on these defenders to bring them down unofficially. Eight carries, 46 yards for Judah Clark. Second down and seven.

West Valley at the North Central 49. Quarterback run to the right side. It's Eaton. Lowers the shoulder, runs upfield over the 45. It is down to the 41 yard line for a gain of 8 yards.

Rashawn Eaton with another first down. Nice run by the quarterback on the right side. Hunter Naper Napier, the number 11, the wide receiver out there, and the captain was the guy that made that play because he was able to knock the strong safety out of the way, allowing Eaton then to kind of get some additional yards.

And he dropped that shoulder in that helmet. He delivered a blow. That kid. That kid's tough. Marco Seraphin again in on the tackle, but also banged his knee and he's limping around a little bit defensively here.

First down in Chan West Valley at the Wolfpack. 41 out of the gun. Snap back, waist tied to Eaton. Throws deep down the right side looking for Walker. Got him on the run at the five into the end zone.

Touchdown. Beautifully thrown pass that time from Rashawn Eaton to Grady Walker. That is a 41 yard passing hookup. And West Valley has their first lead of the game with seven and a half minutes remaining to play here in the first half. Boy, that was a beautiful throw as you mentioned, Larry, and it just.

He threw that one on a dime and really hit Walker in stride. I think that's Walker's third or fourth catch of the day, but he just outran the corner. Perfectly thrown ball and that was a beautiful pass catch combination between those two. Unofficially three catches, 77 yards for Grady Walker so far. Here's the PAT try by Walker.

Stay well everyone. Well, our STCU touchdown drive recap. A 68 yard touchdown march by West Valley. 41 yard pass from Eaton to Walker. Pat no good.

137 Low kickoff comes downfield. Picked up on a bounce there by the running back Workman. Breaking tackles over the 35, gets out to the 40 and is run backward from the 41 yard line. So nice little return there by Trey Workman and North Central will take over one official has it at the 41. At the 41.

And they'll settle with the guy who's across the field at the 41. He's probably the guy that drove. So you know the guy's not going to get a ride home if he doesn't match his spot there. But a nice run. I like the Workman kid.

He works hard, tough, physical and did a nice job of getting positive yards. Good field position here to start this drive. I have Tommy Elliott unofficially. Seven of 10, 89 yards passing here for North Central. He's got two receivers split to either side on first down at their own 41.

Ball in the left, hash, Workman to his right in the backfield. Shotgun snap, comes back waist high, right handed, throw out right side caught. Eli Williams bellies back across the 45 yard line and then gets back to the 45. So he caught the ball, bellied back to the 45, three, then got back to the 45. Ends up being a four yard gain to Eli Williams.

Yeah, I like that though. And you know, a good positive gain on first down. Still plenty of time, just under seven minutes to go, Only down six. Touchdown, extra point. They can take the lead.

They're very much in this ball game right now. Ball on the right, hash. Two receivers again split to either side here for Elliot the quarterback, second and six at his own 45. Four men down on the line for West Valley. Snap comes back and he fires it out, has a catch.

Cameron Dewey, a first down marker at the 49 yard line and he'll dive forward to the 47 yard line. So that'll be a pickup of eight yards and a first down through the air, a Damon Orthodontics. First down on the eight yard pass to Dewey. One of the West Valley defenders is down at about the 46 yard line holding its right ankle. They might call a little timeout here and check out injury.

So a gain of 8 yards on the play to Dewey and that puts Elliott over 100 yards in the ballgame. And Dewey has three catches for 65 yards and a touchdown. I believe the injured West Valley player is Tommy Price. Well, stop into the swinging doors at the corner of Francis and Monroe before or after the game to meet, to eat and to definitely have fun. One of my favorite places in Spokane is to hang out the swinging doors.

Ball in the left hash. Two receivers split right, one man wide left. Tommy Elliott out of the gun, takes the shotgun snap, face mask high, fakes the handoff, spins out to the right side being pursued, throws as he's gained hit and it's a diving catch made at the 44 yard line.

Tremendous play by Nick Elliott. That's a gain of three or check it, it's Eli Williams gain a three. Man he went down low, he pulled that thing right off the Astroturf there. We did a turf commercial and he nearly had the ball in the turf but he had great hands to pick that thing up clean. Get a first down there and save his quarterback was under serious duress.

Great pressure that time by West Valley on the defensive front. I think it was Sar Washington that was after him there and hit him just as he was throwing the ball but a gain of three yards. Second down and seven on the play now motion out of the backfield by the quarterback Elliott and here's a shotgun snapback. A Wildcat play and that's going nowhere and that's going to be a big loss of yardage. Back to the 47 yard line.

Nice play by about West Valley's Jacob hit 210 pound junior defensive tackle on the stop. Yeah, he broke right through the line of scrimmage. That good job using his hands. He just swam kind of went up and over the center. That time was right in the backfield and really that play had no chance because hit was right there to make the.

So Workman on the out of The Wildcat loses two. It's third and nine now for North Central at the West Valley 46. Three receivers split to the left. One man, that's Dewey, their tallest receiver. Wide to the right, shotgun formation.

Workman to the right of Tommy Elliott. Elliott takes a waist high snap, fades back, looking to the left under pressure. He will be sacked for the first time in the game. Sara Washington in there along with the primary man Jackson Bale from the defensive line position. A 233 pound senior to bring him down.

Well, both those guys are going to get a half a sack. You're right Bale, excellent job coming from the left side. 33 is starting to dominate up front. They're having a tough time blocking him right now. And now you're going to have to punt the ball away.

A nice drive it looked like and then kind of went backwards with some really good defensive plays by West Valley. It did a nice job. The Eagles came after these guys on this series. Down to 410 remaining here in the first half. Cameron Dewey to punt deep man is standing back at his 15 yard line.

Cu to all GSL teams. So 5 yards on this one for the false start takes it back to the 42 yard line. So now it'll be fourth down and 21 here rather than fourth and 16. And the return man for West Valley will walk up right around his own 20 yard line here. Here's the boot away by Dewey and this will be grabbed on the run at the 18 or at the 28 yard line.

But I believe the knee was down though. It wasn't. And that is Ashton Zettle and he'll take the ball out over the 40 to the 41 yard line. I thought he had a knee down and that's what Aaron woods, the coach for North Central is saying. But the officials are saying no, he did not.

And the yep. Are they moving it back? Nope, nope, they're not. They'll have it at the 42 yard line here for the 43 yard line. First down and 10.

If his knee wasn't down, Larry, I think you'd had a hard time sliding it back, piece of paper underneath his knee into the turf because it really did look like he went down because he had to go low to pick that thing up. And you know, you have replay, you might be able to figure it out. But the eyeball test didn't work on that one and they have a nice return. So West Valley has it at their own 43. First down and 10.

Walker in motion left to right through the formation. They'll swing it to him. He catches at the 40, gets a block, gets hemmed in on the sidelines, breaks a tackle and now is dropped right at the line of scrimmage as West North Central just keep kept coming after him, coming after him and coming after him.

And it was Trey Workman that brought him down. They'll give him to the 44 gain of one. Workman's your little worker be out there. That guy's all over the field doing A great job and just a nice job of playing inside out defense. He used the sideline as an extra defender.

He came in there, he forced the wide receiver kind of out towards that sideline and it just, you know, gathered him up and made the tackle. Very nice. Fundamental on that play. 318 remaining to play. Clock running here in the first half.

West Valley also gets the ball to start the second half. They lead it 13. Seven trips left, one man wide right, ball right hash mark, they hand it off. Judah Clark runs off the right side, cuts upfield, crosses the 45 and gets to the 47. McCullough the defensive tackle, brings him down, but a gain of about three.

It'll be third and six. Second tackle the day for McCullough. He's been a busy BS as well, and he's got some pretty good size in there, doing a nice job. It's been a good battle in the trenches between both of these offensive defensive lines tonight and that's where this game is going to be settled. Who can block whom and who can protect their quarterback the best.

It's going to make a difference in this game. So a big third down here for both squads. Third and six. West Valley at their own 47. Eaton the quarterback out of the shotgun.

Four receivers, three to the left, ball in the right. Hash Eaton will run himself off the right side over the 50, lowers his shoulder, rams into a defender and struggles forward and should have the first down, it looks like, to the Wolfpack 46. And again. Rashawn Eaton is 210 pounds and he lowered his shoulder, took on the defense. Aiden Ham helped on the knockdown to the seven yard gain.

They moved the chain. Boy, when he gets to full speed, he is a load. Nice job there. And it takes two or three defenders every time to finally knock him down. I like the the way this kid plays, throws a nice ball.

He's tough running the football. He's making good decisions. He's protecting the ball as well, so they're not stripping at it, knocking it away. So first down and 10. West Valley down at the North Central 46.

North Carolina has all three of their timeouts left. They hand it off again. Into a pile goes Clark, bounces off, runs to his left and gets submarines as he gets to the 42 yard line. Two players combined in that knockdown. Tommy Elliott was one of them.

And it'll be second down after a gain of about 4 yards. I think Workman was the other. He came in there and he got shot out of the pile like a missile. As well. And that was a pretty good little bump there.

Second down. Good job. They're down to 133 here in the, in the second quarter. They got to move a little quicker here if they want to try to get some more points. West Valley going back to the huddle after every play.

They still have all their timeouts as clock counts down inside of 125. Now Eaton out of the quarterback on second and are out of the shotgun. Throws a screen on second and six to Judah Clark inside the 35. Down to the 30. Running down the left hash.

25, 20 breaks a tackle inside the 10 and it's spilled by Tommy Elliott down at the eight yard line. A flag is down though, so we'll hold the phone. It's a 34 yard gain if the play stands up. That was away from the play. You might have a hold if there.

It shouldn't be an illegal man downfield because the ball is behind the line of scrimmage. So if anything, I think it's going to be a hold. That's too bad because that was just a great play that time by West Valley. They're going to wipe that out. Bring it back.

Personal foul called on both squads. So two personal fouls, basically you had two guys engaged and they were doing the fisty cuffy thing and they called it on both players. So they'll, they'll mark the penalty off. Either way it'll end up staying at the spot of the foul. Back to the line.

Scrimmage. Original line of scrimmage. So the two personal fouls, one on each squad, offset and it'll be second down again from the 42 yard line here. So it'll be second down and seven from the 42, but it wipes out that play. Yeah, big play.

Gets him down. They were down inside the 10 yard line. They finally move the the sticks back to from three down to two in terms of second down. So that somebody's going to get a talking to on the, on the offensive side for West Valley on that one. Three receivers go to the right, one receiver to the left.

Ball near the left hash. Second and seven. Shotgun snap back to Eaton. He rolls to the right, wants to run, gets by one man, bounces outside. Hemmed in on the sidelines and knocked down at the 41 yard line.

Good job by the North Central defense, Trey Workman along with Aiden Ham there to bring him down. Gain of a one on the play and we have a timeout taken on the field. Two matching 41 yard touchdowns, two nice throws by Eaton to put it right in his hands. And Walker over 100 yards receiving already here in this ballgame.

So it's a 197 game. Here's the pat that is no good from Walker. So it is a 19 to 7 game with 37 and 110 seconds left here in the half. Our STCU touchdown drive recap. A 57 yard drive for West Valley capped by the second 41 yard passing touchdown of the game from Eaton to Walker.

Second time this season that those two players have connected for two touchdowns in a game and it's now a 197 West Valley lead. North Central does have three timeouts left. They have been able to move the ball through the year. Not with too many explosive plays, but we'll see what they can do here. You know, if this continues the way that it's going, you're going to go back and we're going to talk about that fourth down play that North Central, you know, went to kick, couldn't get it down, ended up having to throw a pass that basically got wiped out.

I thought they should have gone for it because they had all the momentum. They had gotten a turnover, they had the lead. They're trying to add to that lead. And from that point on, West Valley is really taking control of this football game. Nick Elliott will return this kick standing right around his own 10 yard line here and Jackson Bale will put it on the tee.

With West Valley leading by the score of 19 to 7 over North Central, North Central got the ball to start the game and they went right down the field. An impressive drive, eight plays, 77 yards, took 419 off the clock and Tommy Elliott, quarterback with a nice 30 yard passing touchdown to Cameron Dewey. It was seven to nothing at that point. Then West Valley gets the ball and they fumble it away.

Ball recovered by Tommy Elliott and just like that, North Central had it the West Valley 46, but they end up getting down to the 12 yard line. Decide to try for a field goal on a fourth and two situation rather than going for it. Whether it was a fake field goal or a mishandled snap or whatever it was, it didn't work out. And then that's one of the big plays here in this game. I thought your observation was right on, Larry.

I thought they were in four down territory, I really did. They had the momentum, they had a turnover. They're trying to go up by two scores which would make huge difference. And then that kind of took, you know, shape and they were running the ball effectively. I thought they could have moved it and gotten that first down, kept that drive alive.

West Valley took over at their own 12 after that and they started an 88 yard drive that was capped by a Rashawn Eaton one yard rushing touchdown and we were tied at seven. North Central punted and then West Valley took it at their own 32. A 68 yard drive capped by a 41 yard pass from Eaton to Grady Walker Point after no good. 13 to 7. North Central Punts.

North Carolina. West Valley takes over at their own 43. A 57 yard drive ensues and another 41 yard passing touchdown from Eaton to Walker Point after no good. And that's where we're at here at the half. 197 is the score.

Well, it's homecoming here at North Central High School or not here at North Central High School, but it's homecoming at North Central High School and their homecoming court being introduced to the crowd here and everybody getting a chance to take pictures and do what not there as it is. Homecoming. Not pleasant so far, but they've been in this game and they still have a chance to win this game. They're showing some fight.

I like what I see there. This is a team that's playing hard and I give head coach Aaron woods and Tommy Williams and staff a lot of kudos out there because it's tough when you haven't won their own 5. 04in league. You know they've, they've had a tough time but they're starting to compete a little bit and you know they just need some positive stuff. And it's just disappointing to see kind of when things went south, it went south awfully quick.

And that was because Walker was pretty darn good out there and he got some help from Eaton the quarterback. A couple of big plays there at the end for touchdowns. All right, football tomorrow around the Greater Spokane League. East Valley will play at Rogers on them. We're talking two way football here.

Clarkston will visit Pullman tomorrow. Shadow park is the league leader and they will be at a conference tomorrow as they play at colville. On the 3A 4A side, Gonzaga Prep visits Central Valley. Cheney will host Mount Spokane. Lewis and Clark is here at Mead.

They'll have a double header here tomorrow as they'll first have the East Valley Rogers game at 4. That will be a radio game by the way tomorrow 3:35 for the pregame, 4:00 clock for the kickoff on that one. So we hope you join us for that. And then no radio on the second game, the LC Mead game. But it will be coming up after that one ends Ridgeline is at U High and Ferris plays Pasco in the non league game.

This week the GSL standings presented by Brothers Flooring in the 2A side, Shadow park on top at 4 and OH Clarkston in second at 3 and 4. Those two teams play next Friday here in Spokane. So big game coming up there. West Valley and Pullman are tied at 2:1. West Valley will play Pullman at home in the final week of the regular season.

They've got some athletes and they're also pretty darn good in football, so that should be an excellent matchup. I had them at 100 rushing yards, 129 passing yards, 229 yards of total offense.

North Central 4 rushing yards, 124 passing yards for 128 yards of total offense for the visiting Eagles of West Valley. Unofficially Judah Clark 10 carries, 53 yards, Rashawn Eaton nine for 47 and a touchdown. Grady Walker two carries for no yards. Unofficially Rashawn Eaton seven of seven, 129 yards and two passing touchdowns in the first half of action. Grady Walker had five catches for 119 yards and two touchdowns and Judah Clark had two catches for 10 yards for West Valley.

For North Central, Trey Workman four carries for five yards, Tommy Elliott three for two yards. He was sacked twice in this ball game and Cameron Dewey had minus three on the ground. Tommy Elliott passing very effective in the first half, 11 out of 15. Unofficially 124 yards and one touchdown. Eli Williams, five catches for 27 yards, Cameron Dewey three for 65.

Rios Nance had one catch for 20 yards, Workman a catch for 11 yards and Nick Elliott one catch for one yard for North Central. One turnover on West Valley, none on North Central. North Central. Several penalties though, that hurt them in the first half of play and they trail it by 12 here at the intermission. They had opportunities, they had a great drive, they score first, they had another drive, they had the opportunity to go for it on fourth down, decide to go for the field goal to get some points and go up two scores.

Bobbled snap just didn't work. And from that point on it's really been West Valley and really the two connections, the Eaton Walker basically has been the difference in this game. And also the fact that the thing you mentioned, teams that have had a problem in terms of winning have a tendency to self destruct at the wrong time. And that could be penalties, that could be a mistake, going the wrong way, getting a sack, fumble, whatever it happens to be. And North Central just has to try to fight through that right now and get some positive things.

And that's why I think getting a stop and getting a drive here in the third quarter, if they can score again, cut this to one score, they're right back in this ball game. You know, it's a fine line that you're walking there when you're talking about that. You know, with a team that just hasn't had a whole lot of success. And these guys have hurt themselves at varying times this year when they've been in games with turnovers or penalties. And Aaron woods has a, basically a new coaching season staff here.

He has college experience as a player. He has guys on his staff with college experience. Takes some time though, to make this all happen. Well, and it's a cross country school. I mean it's, it's a, it's a school that goes out and wins track and field championships and cross country championships and it's just got a different emphasis.

I played on a lot of bad teams that lost a lot of games growing up. And it's frustrating. It's tough because you're working just as hard as the teams that are going out getting wins. But maybe it's just a little bit different level of talent or bad injuries or some things that cause breaks and you don't make the breaks. The brakes basically break you.

And that's the thing you have to fight through. That's the difficult part when you're in a kind of a losing streak. There is. You've got to get some breaks. You got to get some leaders that'll step up and refuse to lose and go out and make some plays.

And that's what they need to see here in the second half. North Central had a 7 nothing lead in the this game. The last three touchdowns have been scored by West Valley and they have the lead at 19 to 7. All right, so tomorrow, not just one Greater Spokane League game of the week presented by Arby's, we have two as East Valley will take on Rogers. And again, when we looked at the standings, these are two teams that are down in the standings.

East Valley's 1 and 2. Rogers is 0 and 3. But if East Valley can win out here this year, they could still maybe have something to say if we get to three playoff teams out of the 2A. As Dave Nichols said in our pregame show, it's not known yet whether it'll be two or three teams out of the two A race into the postseason. Looks like three, but we're not sure at this point in time.

But at East Valley, if they can win out, they can still make their way into the postseason, perhaps. So this is a big game for them tomorrow against Rock. It really does. And Matt Meathee and Jason Wheel. Jason, I coach together up at Ferris.

That's been a long time coach not only at Whitworth, but at Rodgers. They're here scouting, you know, looking at in terms of what's going on for, you know, next week's opponent. And that'll be a big game for him, you know, and East Valley's got some dudes, they've got some play some players that are really good athletes and great football players. I think it'll be a heck of a game. I think you're starting to see Rogers kind of turn the corner a little bit.

They're getting that momentum going and a win over East Valley would be a big momentum. You know, pitch for those folks. Two of the best athletes in the GSL will be on display tomorrow with the Rogers quarterback, Deon Kinsey and the East Valley quarterback, Diesel Wilkinson. Neither probably would be a quarterback if they're at a school with with, but they're the best athletes in each of their school and that's why they're playing quarterback rather than maybe receiver or running back.

Then next week we have a 3A versus 4A battle as the 4A team. Central Valley reeling a little bit now, but they have a big game tomorrow night against Gonzaga Prep. They will be in action taking on the Ferris Saxons. Yeah, Ferris has had a rough year as well. That's a, that's a rebuild.

A lot of southports on that team and Central Valley needs a win and that's going to be a tough ask tomorrow night against Gonzaga Prep, who runs the ball as well as anybody, but they have a tendency not to be able to throw it quite as well. Well, and so you're going to have to try to stuff the box. You got to stop the A gap. That option attack is so deadly. They do such a good job with how they coach that up, but know that you basically take that runaway, make them have to pass the football.

That's not something they like to do. So Farris and Seabee will play from Central Valley and we'll be there for that game next Friday night starting at 7:00', clock, the pregame at 6:30. They've got a good sized band and a well appointed band as they're in their black uniforms with the hats that have the red plume or whatever you call that up on the top.

Very. Where did those come from? Is that kind of a European idea? That was back in the day when they. I haven't seen a band with the little plume.

Have you ever worn a plume on your head? Well, when I was in the marching band, yeah, that's what every. All the hats had the little thing that stuck up there. Were you a tuba guy? What did you play?

Oh, I started out playing the trumpet and then I played the baritone horn because we had 84 trumpets and no baritone horns and both I played piano and both trumpet and baritone had the same music as the piano. So I didn't have to. To read a second. I thought there was the same music that I could read. I didn't realize that.

That you were so musically inclined. Oh, I wasn't musically inclined. I played three things. The trumpet, the baritone and the piano. And I couldn't do any of them with a craft.

Well, I played the clarinet and I scared cats. They would go hide under the clarinet. I did and nothing came out. But everybody ran and hid as soon as I started to blow. I can't see you playing a clarinet.

It didn't last very long. And then I went to the drums. That was more appropriate. I can see you playing the drums. So yeah, I wasn't very.

What was the Sesame Street? The fuzzy little animal in the back that was banging on the drums. That was that animal that played the. Yep, that was animal that played the drums. That was me.

That would be you. I could see that very Much. I didn't realize you were in the band. Well, I mean, it was in a small high school. You had to do everything or nobody would have anything.

That's true. You had to play all the sports, you had to be in the. The band and you had to be in the 4H. If you were playing football, would you put your. You take your helmet off then go out and march with.

Well, no, if you. I mean, if you weren't play. If you were. If you weren't playing, you were kind of expected to be in the band. But if you were playing, then, you know, you know, nobody.

Same thing in basketball. You didn't take, you know, run in instead of taking your halftime, you know, notes from the coach or whatever, get your. Your daily music sheets and go out there. Right. You didn't have to go grab your horn and play in the band.

Instead of going in and hearing what ridiculous ideas the coach had for you to not lose by 50. You know how much fun it would have been if I could have been in the stands when you were playing in the band? I would have gone after and heckled you so badly. I would have thrown. I wasn't in the stands playing in the band because I was on the field.

Well, I would have gone after you. I would have launched. I would have figured out a way to get a water balloon launcher with tomatoes and several other fruit items and tried to. Well, if I was playing the baritone horn, you had a nice little. That's exactly what I'm saying.

That's a good. Throw it into. We did that as good as a tuba, but you know, that was baritone was. All of these years. I didn't realize you were a baritone guy.

Man, that is really cool. Yeah. Started out with the trumpet and we had plenty of trumpet players, so we didn't have it and we didn't have any. But we do have one kid playing a tuba. So we had one on the tuba and then I played the baritone and then everybody else played trumpets and clarinets and trom.

We had several trombones at eight or nine guys with trombones because they made a lot of noise. So they could sit behind the girls playing the flute and the clarinet and they'd blast their trombones in those poor girls ears. All right, that was awful. I hope riveting halftime. We just killed three minutes there because they put three minutes back on the clock.

Getting the ball up to the 40 and getting run back from there is the return man. And that was Michael Toffsman route on the return. And he takes it up to the 41. Well, I'll put it at the 40. Yeah.

They will put at the 41 yard line first down. And Tommy Elliott, the strong safety, slash quarterback, slash special teams guru, was the guy that made the tackle on that. He's been all over the field. I love the way that kid plays. So West Valley takes over at their 41 yard line near the right hash.

First down and 10, one man, that's Walker, splits to the left side, two men wide to the right. The tight end in motion to the left. They'll run to the left. Big hole opens for Clark, who then stops, cuts back to his right. Over the 50, 45, 40, gets to the sidelines, breaks the tackle 35 and out of bounds.

Well of a run. Micah Clark started to the left, wound it back to the right. In the end he picks up 20, 30 yards and a first down. Boy, he's had himself 11 carries now. 83 yards.

If you add that 30 yard run in the end of that deal, he's off to a very good start. Trending towards 100 yards on the game here early in the third quarter. But great vision by him to see that everybody was kind of flowing left and he just cut back against the grain. That's why it's such a good run. Coming off holding his right hip and now doubled over on the sidelines is Carson Burke, a 6 foot 4 inch defensive end for North Central.

On first down, Rayshawn Eaton will run, cuts to his right, gets inside the 25 and a stop there. Flags go down as as Eaton goes to the 24 yard line. Brought down in the play by Cameron Dewey. But let's see what the penalty flag is about. See if that's an illegal block or a face mask as our officials discuss it.

With 11:36 remaining in the third quarter, 19:7 in favor of West Valley. And the discussion continues and it'll be on North Central. Let's see what the penalty is. A lot of talking, but no signaling. It's a face mask call.

This will be a five yard face mask. They do have that nice. Yep, they do. And it'll go from the 23 down to the 18 yard line. So the difference in that is that the grasp, but maybe they let go as opposed to the grass and then they turn, they spin and pull the mask, you know, to the side and that's the dangerous one.

Hence the 15 yarders. The grass from the face mask with no twist only is five, so that's good. I'm glad I they still have that. I think that's a good designation on that penalty. So six yards in the pickup for Eaton, another five yards on the penalty.

First and 10 from the 18 now in North Central handoff. Cutting to his left is Clark, now cuts back to his right, gets inside the 10, drives ahead and should have a first down to about the seven yard line before they run him back. Officials look like they're going to spot him at the 8. That still will be a gain of 10. Should be good for a first down.

Another tackle by Trey Workman, who's been an absolute load on offense and defense. And he carried Clark back about 10 yards and tried to throw him the ground. Clark wouldn't go down. First and goal now from the eight. Excuse me.

Ball near the right, hashtag. Eaton out of the shotgun formation, takes the snap, runs it himself. Now cuts to the right, gets to the five and trots into the end zone. Gets tackled as he kind of slowed up there a little bit at the end and Cameron Dewey came over and put a pretty good look at him. But it's a touchdown for Rashaun Eaton, the fourth touchdown he is accounted for in this game.

An eight yard rushing touchdown makes this a 257 game. And there's a great lesson on not slowing up before the goal line. Because they're going to take a shot at you and you get a chance, you hustle right to that pylon. Step out of bounds and protect yourself or you're going to get hammered. That might be something.

The coach might rewind a couple times and said, son, plant that foot. Get up there, get across the line. Protect yourself. So now the point after try coming from Grady Walker. One out of three this game.

It took them four plays to get down the field. It was an Eaton 8 yard rushing touchdown. That makes this a 26 to 7 game. Here's the kickoff. Downfield short.

It'll be grabbed at the 825 yard line by Eli Williams. He'll run to his right, cross the 30 yard line and he gets spilled as he gets to the 33. So about an eight yard kickoff return for Eli Williams there. He was very close to getting a lot more. If he could have gotten by that little wave at the 30, he might add a big return.

He could have hurdled or got in the air. I think he's gone because there was nobody. He basically he did a nice move of running to the left. He drew the entire kind of kick coverage team over to that side. Then he cut back against the grain to the right side.

He had one little pile to kind of navigate. He just couldn't get that foot over. Somebody reached up and took a swat at him and knocked him down. Carson Burke is back in the game for North Central. He's the inside receiver.

Split to the left side along with Dewey on the outside. Two men are wide to the right. Quick throw coming out of the backfield. And that's caught by Workman trying to break a tackle. Can't do it.

He is brought down right about the line of scrimmage. Maybe a one yard gain on the play. Good job by Andrew Royston, a linebacker for West Valley to bring him down. Yeah, that was not an easy open field tackle. I'll tell you right now.

I love the way Workman plays. Just a little flare to the left side, flipped it over the defensive ends hands. That allowed the linebacker to come up and make that open field play. If he didn't, there would have been a lot of running room for workman. Gain of a yard to the 34.

Second down and nine ball near the left hash. Two receivers to either side. Elliott out of the gun movement up front. Let's see whether they were drawn off by the North Central offensive line or if the West Valley defense encroached being encroachment. That's a five free, five free yards there.

And that, that's what you talk about moving the change. You don't want to do that when you make a penalty like that, but that really helps. North Central from this standpoint. Gives you a lot more dynamic plays at second down and relatively short. About four yards now.

Second down and four now at their own 39. Two receivers to either side. Workman to the left of Elliott in the backfield. Elliott takes a face high shotgun snap, throws quickly ball off the hands of his tight end who wanted to pull it in and run before he caught it. And the pass incomplete.

Carson Burke had him hit it right, right in the hands. But he was trying to run before he got it. Yeah, he took a peek to see where the, you know, the linebackers, maybe the safety was and when he did that thing doinked right off his hands, that nearly was an interception. Those are the plays you love as a defensive back. The old tip drill where it goes up in the air.

You got to go make a play. North Central unfortunately couldn't get there. So third and four for North Central at their own 39. Again, four wide receivers, two to either side. Four man rush and back to throw as the quarterback gets hit as he throws deep down the left side into double coverage.

Looking for Dewey. And this is intercepted. A flag is down and we're going to get an interference call I believe on Damari Williams of West Valley as Dewey went down at the 28 yard line. Looked to me like it might be incidental contact, but the officials are going to call pass interference. I think he got a hand on that and just a gentle shove in the back and, and the back Judge was the one that saw that both the, the side judges and if Headlinesman, you know, were kind of behind the play.

But back judge had a better look at, he could see it kind of from the inside and that's where we have to be able to see that. So that penalty is going to go against number two for West Valley. That's a big 15 yard play. Gives him a first down, keeps his drive alive. 945 to go here in the third quarter.

So the Wolfpacks hoping for some success here. They got to get the ball in the end zone. Just a nice job. Big break that time for, for them. Demari Williams not happy with that call as you would expect.

But. And I get it, it's a 15 yard penalty. And so that puts the ball into West Valley territory at the 46 yard line. First down and 10. Four wide receivers, two to either side for the junior quarterback.

Tommy Elliott, who was a second team all conference pick last year as a defensive back. Get in his first year at quarterback. Now Workman to his left in the backfield on first down. Now time called. Did we get a timeout on West Valley or were they guilty of a delay?

No, North Central jumped off. Yeah, okay, I think that was Cameron Dewey got a little excited. That's a five yard penalty again. You just get a 15 yarder and you get five of it back and you know the count. So another penalty on North Central.

They've had a few of them here today. And it'll be first and 15 now for the Wolfpack back at their own 49. So the ball marked back across midfield. Four men down on the line here on first and 15. And there's a snap back to the quarterback.

He wasn't expecting it. Swings it out to Workman who makes the catch, gets up the left sidelines across the 50 and is thrown out of bounds. He gets near the 45 yard line. Demare Williams wrestles him out of bounds, gain a six. But that could have been disaster.

That shotgun snap came back and basically planted itself in his belly button. Boy, that was fortunate. Wasn't higher to the left or low or anything like that. That was just. And great instincts by Elliott to catch the dard football.

He didn't even see it. Second down and nine at the 45 now of West Valley. Four receivers, two to either side. Ball in the left hash and we're going to get the left end for West Valley. Jackson Bale in the neutral zone.

And that's the second time that the hard count from Tommy Elliott has drawn West Valley into the neutral zone. Bail bailed on that one. That's a five yard penalty. And it's Hanky Fest 20, 22 right now here on this drive. And it's, it's raining yellow flags and every one of them are deserved right now in terms of this drive.

So North Central, it's a great opportunity for them. They've got to be to able, able to, you know, push this thing in the end zone, get some points. Second down and four now at the West Valley 40. Out of the shotgun, Elliott takes the snap, waist tie, fades back, has pressure and will be sacked. And for the second time in the ball game, it is Sara Washington that brings him down back of the 42.

That's a loss of two, two and a half sacks. You know he's had, he's been, he's really been the difference maker at that defensive tackle, defensive end spot. He came in there, just defeated the block. They were man to man blocking him and he just got right around the guard and really no chance that time for Elliott to make a play. Stepped up, was buried and normally Washington the defensive end, they've moved him inside here in this game.

He's playing defensive tackle. So now third down and six at the 42 yard line. After that two yard loss, Elliott takes the snap, fades back under pressure again, gets hit and that's going to be sacked back at the 48 yard line. Second straight play, Jacob hit brings him down that time. Hit with his first sack of the ball game.

That brings him back to the 47 yard line it looks like for another loss. Well, you've got Bale with a half sack, hit with a sack, two and a half sacks for you know, Washington as well and you know just that front has done a nice job. It be could controlling this game in this line of scrimmage and they're going to have to punt the ball away. Very good drive. Opportunity here wasted because of two straight sacks.

Loss of six on the play. Fourth down and 12 now and Dewey will punt it away. Good snap back one foot, boots it away. Not a good kick. Bounced inside the 40, rolls inside the 35 and spins back to the 33 yard line.

So that will be a 15 yard punt with no return. The official spotting is the 31, but that ball should be at the 33. That's where it was touched. Ashton Zettle was the young man that came up and fielded that ball after it was touched. But it was touched down.

Once you touch the ball to the turf, that ball's dead and they end up losing two yards. So they should have had it the 33 and instead they'll it take at the 31 yard line here. First down and 10. So they marked it where the ball was pushed back. When the guy swiped at the ball, he pushed it back two yards.

Wow. West Valley at their own 31 here. First down and 10 on the right hash. They have scored the last three time. Four times they've had the football.

Here's Eaton the quarterback fading back to pass with a fake wheel route out of the backfield. Looking for Clark. Incomplete. Good coverage that time by Workman making the the defense over there. Second down.

Reese Hanson, number four, the wide receiver for West Valley. Basically ran right by the corner who I think lost track of where he was. But then he broke the route off. He was five yards behind the corner and then he broke it out to an out. Instead of just keep going, just kind of extend that and that's where you got to get your hands up and hope the quarterback can see it because he would add an easy touchdown if that ball would have been anywhere near him.

Second down and 10 at their own 31 here. Three wide receivers, one split right. Two men wide left. Out of the backfield in motion is Clark. They'll swing it out to him on the left side.

Gets a block. 30, 35, 40 up the left side. First down, 45, 50 and out of bounds. The officials will spot him out of bounds right at midfield. That's a 19 yard play.

Little swing out of the backfield to come Clark and a Damon orthodontics. First down. Boy, he's going to need some Ovaltine after this game. He's been getting a lot of exercise, a lot of energy running the football close to 100 yards, catching the football of the backfield, you know, just doing a great job of using that speed and, and making North Central miserable in terms of his offensive production.

First and 10 ball at the midfield. Stripe here. Clock at 7, 14 remaining. Third quarter, 26 7. West Valley on top of the three receivers, two to the right, ball on the left.

Hash Eaton takes the shotgun snap, numbers high, fades back deep drop. Now runs out to the right side, looking downfield, stops being pursued by Workman, tries to stiff arm and Workman throws him out of bounds. Yep, good defensive play at the 47 yard line. Loss of three as Eaton had nobody open down the field. And Workman doing a nice job to throw him down.

And I believe he's hurt. Did is he grabbed the forearm, you know, of the quarterback that time and basically just pulled him right to the ground. But he's a big dude and I think he just kind of landed weird, you know, right there on the sidelines. He's really played a tremendous game. I hope he's going to be okay.

I, I think he's more tired and kind of worn out than anything. Hopefully that's the case. The athletic trainers are down. Having a look at Workman. He is up now and he can't rain one to come back out on the field, but he can't do it.

Second and 13 after the sack, they flake the fly sweep to Walker and then running to the right is Eaton and he'll be grabbed and taken down by Tommy Elliott, his counterpart down at the 44 yard line.

But that'll be a nine yard rushing gain for a Sean Eaton. It looks like you got another player that's starting to cramp up as well. I think that's Napier, who's, who's been running all over the place too. At corner number 11. He grabbed the back of his calf, so these guys have been running a lot in this game.

Clock continues to run for 26, 7, 630 to go here in the third quarter. So third and four here for West Valley. They're down to 13 seconds on the play clock and they're still in the huddle. They break the huddle with nine on the play clock. Eaton calls the signals, third and four, takes the snap, runs to the right side, gets hit, drags the tackler forward.

It'll be very close to first down yardage. He got it because he got to the 40 yard line and that was the line to gain. And I think they're going to, if that's on the other side, that's definitely a first down. They're going to move the chains. Yep.

Another Damon Orthodontics. First down, a four yard rush for Rashawn Eaton. We were always taught Larry, when we were, you know, on the inside as an official to kind of spot the ball as close to the line as you can. So if it's a couple inches either way, you always put it right on that line to gain mark makes it easier. So first down and 10 now for West Valley.

Inside of six minutes remaining here in the third quarter. Clock is running. Reese Hansen along with Tommy Price. Split to the left side. Two men wide to the right.

Shotgun snap back. Eaton grabs it, fades back to the 50, throws the ball down the middle into coverage. That ball is knocked away, incomplete. Good play. Florek the wide receiver, the running back was trying to catch that ball, but Tommy Elliott, the quarterback, also playing safety on defense, was able to get in there and knock it away and he tore his, his, his, his little flag.

He's got a pink flag there. He ripped it right, right out of the, you Know the, the holder there that he had. So he was able to get through there and make a play. Couldn't get his hand on the ball, but he was able to get his hand on the, the wide receiver, receiver, knock that, that, that young man down and separate the football. So loss of, or excuse me, an incomplete pass in the Play.

And it's second down and 10 now at the 40 of North Central for West Valley. One receiver splits right, three to the left, it'll be a run. Eaton up the middle, gets hit and dropped almost immediately. Good play by Carson Burke, the defensive end to bring him down short, gain only two yards. Well, he Washington University, they're proud supporters of your hometown teams and of course go weeks.

So again a two on the play. Second and eight now for West Valley. They're at the North Central 32, 38. The clock is their ally here. They still have plenty of time on the play clock.

22 seconds on the play clock, 5:04 remaining on the game clock. With the clock counting down here. It's been a good clock eating drive by West Valley to keep this thing going, keep it on the ground, making plays, ball on the right hash. Three receivers left, one to the right. Eaton to throw.

It's a little screen set up inside the 35. Clark gets down to about the 32 yard line. Good defense there, Sean. Seth Bromley, a defensive lineman there to bring him down to the six yard pickup. Fourth and two.

Sorry, Larry. Clark's gonna kick himself because if he'd have gone outside, that's where all the yardage was. It was wide open over there. He just saw a seam in the middle, kind of collapsed inside. And that's where North Central was waiting for him.

If he bounces that, he may not only have the first down, but really a big play as well. Big play here. 4th and 2, West Valley at the North Central 32 yard line. Eaten out of the gun. Will he call his own number here?

Takes the shotgun, snap back, wants to pass for it, fires it short, has a catch on the right side and gathering that in is Walker. And down in the play is Cameron Dewey, the guy that brought him down. Dewey slow in getting up and I think, yep, I think he's got a cramp in his leg just like Workman had a cramp just a moment or two ago. And so they'll get him off, they'll have to stretch him out here and Aaron woods down there, the head coach for North Central, to have a look at his player. I did that last night, launched the cat about three feet in the air because my calf started to cramp up. I rolled over the one spot it just grabs and it's, you know, that's no fun at all. So those guys, that's not a fun experience and got to rub it out. Your legs gonna be sore. It's tough.

You can't get enough fluids back in your body to stop that. Andrea Goodwin is the athletic trainer for North Central, so she's got her hands full. And now on 2nd and 10, North Central into the neutral zone. And so there's another mistake. Instead of a second and 10, it's going to be second and five now.

And those are the things that just kind of build up when teams are struggling. Larry, you're. You're trying to make a player trying to get into the backfield, and you end up jumping the snap instead of watching the football. You're going on the. The vocal sound instead of reading the football, watching the center.

So Eli Williams is playing safety here. It's not like these guys on the sidelines can go in and get, you know, an iv, get, you know, some lactose in their system real quick. They just got a stretch. They only had 10 players on the field. They just now run a safety out.

Here's a toss sweep to the left side and Nick Elliott is pursuing Micah Clark. He gets inside the 20. Should be close to first down yardage. Looks like he might be a yard short to the 18 yard line. So Micah Clark will gain four on the toss sweep to the left side.

It'll be third down in a yard, but they keep this clock running. This has been a great possession. They're eating. They're eating yards, they're eating clock. They're keeping this drive alive.

They're getting some help from North Central as well. And that's what happens. Both of those guys that have cramped up have been. Guys have been playing both ways. And this is what we talk about.

This is where it hits you. End of the third quarter, beginning to middle part of the fourth. I hated it because you had to fight through that because you're beat up, you're sore, you don't have a lot of energy, and you've got to really be mentally tough at this time. Playing both sides. Clock down to 248 remaining here in the third quarter.

And so now it'll be fourth down and one from the 18 yard line. That's his second pass breakup, you know, on this drive as well. He's been all over the place. He could have run the ball. You've got fourth or third and one.

You've been running the ball very effectively. That told me all I needed to know that they were going to go for it on fourth down. They're not going to kick here if they're throwing the ball. They're taking a shot now they're going to come back and run it. So fourth and one from the North Central 18 yard line here.

Two receivers split to the left side, one man wide to the right. And the quarterback, Eaton with 10 seconds on the play clock looks to the sidelines. Running back to his left. Eaton takes the shotgun snap. It's high, hands it off.

Clark squirts through 15, 10, 5 touchdown off the left side. That is Judah Clark. Judah Clark, an 18 yard rushing touchdown puts him over 100 yards rushing in the ball game. It's his first score of the contest and it's now a 327 game with 234 remaining to play here in the third quarter. Boy, what a great drive by West Valley.

They did everything you wanted on this thing. They kept the possession of the ball, they burned the clock. They were able to convert on third downs. They couldn't. North Central couldn't get off the field and then they scored on Clark's 18 yard touchdown run.

Great job. North Central had chances to get off the field. Here's the PAT that is booted through by Walker and that makes it a 337 game with 2 and 34 remaining. Play here third quarter they had chances. They just couldn't make the big stop there on third or fourth down.

net our STCU touchdown drive recap 69 yards for West Valley. An 18 yard rushing touchdown by Judah Clark makes this a 33 to 7 game. I think he's had an outstanding game, Larry rushing the ball you mentioned he just went over 100 yards. He's been a factor, you know, on the field, doing a great job of running all over the place, making a miss. He's a tough guy to bring down very quick.

Not real big, but very, very quick. Here's the kickoff downfield, end over end. It comes to the near side and it'll roll out of bounds at the 11 yard line. And so that'll be an illegal procedure. A bunch of the West Valley penalties have been kickoffs out of bounds in this game.

I think that's the third one they've kicked out of bounds and North Central will take it at their 35 here. They don't want that return guy to touch the football. He said, look, we'll take the penalty. We don't want the guy housing and going 85 yards for a score. So there's nothing wrong with that strategy.

I would do the same thing. But if I'm North Central, I'm going to decline the penalty. I'm going to make him kick it to my counter guy. So from the 35 yard line, first down and 10 ball on the left hash Mark Workman is back in there. He's playing running back.

And Dewey is back in as a receiver as well. He split wide to the left side. Two receivers to either side. Tommy Elliott, the quarterback out of the shotgun, takes a snap low, fakes the handoff, spins out, runs to his right side. Now he'll keep the no throws.

The ball has a catch out over the 40 to the 50. And into West Valley territory goes the receiver that is Rios Mance. Jahim Jaron, Rios Mance. And that's a first down to the 48. Linebacker Haim was the guy that had to come over number seven and make the tackle on that.

Really good play by the quarterback because he sold that he was running the ball. He got the defense to basically come off coverage. Everybody was covered pretty well. But then as soon as he broke towards the line of scrimmage, they came off. He just dumped the ball right over the back of his head for that completion.

That was a nice play. Ball at the West Valley 48 on the right hash. First down and 10, West Valley showing blitz. And here they come and there's a bad snap. Grabbing in the backfield is the quarterback and he is thrown for a big loss.

Forward progress will be given to the 39 yard line, but that'll be a loss on the players 13 yards. And it started with not a great snap. And the quarterback Elliot just could not get the ball and make a play. Well, that's the second sack for Jacob, hit 66. The junior, you know, they basically have five sacks.

I think if I remember correctly, two for Washington, two for hit and then a half sack for for bail and also for Washington. So those guys are spending a lot of time right now. Now North Central's backfield, second down and 23 back at their own 39 yard line. But again another mistake for this North Central team. They've got Isaac Pratt in the game.

A 6, 4 wide receiver split to the right. They'll throw quickly to the left. And that is a incomplete pass. Trying to get the ball out there to Williams. But that was nearly picked some.

I think it was the safety might have been Jaden Barta tried to jump that route and the ball was thrown behind the intended receiver was which probably good idea because you're right, Larry, that would have been picked and that would have been a house call because there was nobody in front of him. If he can catch that football, he's scoring from 45, 50 yards out on that particular play. So that might have been a fortuitous miss to say the least. So third down and 23. Now back at their own 39 for North Central.

Trips to the left, one man wide to the right, low snap grabbed by the quarterback. Press on, it's a screen. Grabbed by Workman, gets to the 40 and then tried to stop and cut back and slipped and fell down at the 41 yard line. He had some room to run if he could have kept his feet. Instead, just a two yard gain and fourth down coming well.

And I think that's what happens when you're having some leg issues. He's been cramping. Your legs are not, you know, solidly underneath you and you're trying to make that hard plant. Sometimes it just, it just gives out on you. He just didn't have the footwork that he had in the fourth.

First quarter here. Coming up on the fourth. So Dewey is the normal punter and he's not in the game to punt right now. He's still cramping up. He's on the sidelines.

McCullough the punter instead of Dewey who's still trying to stretch his calf out and the officials are, they're trying they're going the wrong guys, they're going the wrong way. They move the stakes basically. Have you have some football guys over on the stakes. See, they've already moved the stakes down there. They need to go back and set the stakes.

So yeah, the sticks on the other side of the field, the yardage markers were moved and now they're put back and I still don't think they're put back in the right spot. But at any rate, it is fourth down and long here and here's the punt from McCullough. Good snap back to him and the the big man will boot it away downfield. Nice kick toward the near sidelines. That'll go out of bounds, but it'll be somewhere in the 30 yard line range I would think.

Here has the official will walk it up the sidelines as he strides to the 30 and stops there. So that's where West Valley will have it. First down and 10 after the punt. Well, West Valley, you know, from the standpoint of what they're doing, they're bringing some guys in now. Give me some extra players a chance to play.

They're going to want to burn. Clock able to run and run the football, try to move the chains, you know, and basically just grind this thing out. This is a win that they absolutely need and they're doing what they need to do to win this football game. Rashawn Eaton still in at quarterback, Judah Clark to his left in the backfield and one wide receiver split to either side. A couple of tight ends in the game.

Clark out of the backfield in motion and it's a run for Eaton off the left side, bounces over the 35, crosses the 40, lowers his shoulder and gets out to about the 43A. Damon Orthodontics. First down, Elijah Williams. No, check it. It was Rios Mance that brought him down as he got 12 yards.

Yeah, and Saffron was there as well and he's been on at least 10 tackles tonight. He's been very busy and he's coming off the field limping a little bit as well and might be cramping up, you know. So again this, this has taken a toll. The two way players that that North Central has, they've had some issues with trying to stay healthy. Eaton, unofficially, 16 carries, 85 yards in this game, plus he has passed for 159.

He's accounted for four touchdowns and the play is whistled dead. We're going to get probably a false start here, I would guess on the Eagles of West Valley. He has two receiving touchdowns in this game. Two men wide to the right and it's a handoff. Running off the left side, a big opening and getting out over the 45 and getting spilled. Close to the midfield stripe is Keenan Dunfield getting his first carry, a 6 foot 2, 211 pound junior. But he squirted through there and gained 11 on first down.

Yeah, that was a nice run. Safety had to come up. He just kind of threw his body in the way and almost looked like a log. It just took out his legs. But that's not a fun feeling.

When you see a guy that big going full speed, you're going, you know this is going to hurt. But showed courage, made the tackle, got up and ran back to his spot. Good job. Second down and four. West Valley at their own 49.

Two receivers split to the left, one man to the right out of the gun and there's a handoff. Running to the right side, crossing midfield. Get in a first down, 45 yard line. Flags down. Down to the 40 yard line and getting stopped.

Austin Clark on the carry, his first run of the game. Down to the 39 yard line but the flag back at midfield Likely will be a hold and that's what it is. Yeah, defensive end that time had a chance to get up field and he got spun around there. The referee, Luke Rayner, saw that through the hanky and that's usually the spot we see the holding. They're going to move that back from the 50 back to the 40.

So another nice run gets wiped out. But that was a good call. I saw the hold when it happened and that was a legit. So from the line of scrimmage, a nine yard penalty upcoming. It'll be second down and 13 now for West Valley.

If they're on 40, 10, 21 remaining here in the fourth quarter. It's all West Valley. They have a 337 lead. They've scored the last five touchdowns in this game. Lots of hankies thus far in this game, Larry.

Both sides. Yeah. The second half especially is penalty filled and cramp filled. Trips left ball on the left hash. One man wide right.

Running to the right is Eaton. Big opening across the 45 and slams his way out near midfield. He'll be short of the first down, but Eaton runs for 10 yards on second and long. I like that call. I like that.

You know, from the offensive staff, doing a nice job. Lonnie Quick as the offensive coordinator, quarterbacks coach there and that's good because now you're giving yourself a very manageable third down. Clock continues to run, you're within four yards, you got another player that's limping off the field for North Central as well. And you know, this is just kind of becoming a battle of attrition and West Valley's winning that as well. Third down and three, West Valley at midfield.

Eaton takes the shotgun snap, fades back, has some pressure, runs to the right side. Being pursued, trying to get to the corner. Can't do it. Hemmed in, stop for a loss. Workman back there again, getting some help from.

It looks like A. J. waldron. A loss of two yards back on the play. It'll be fourth and five.

I like Workman. That kid just keeps gutting it out. He's been excellent on offense and he's been all over the field on defense. They're gonna have to punt the football away. Clock does continue to run, so they didn't force anything there.

West Valley didn't turn the football over, but just a nice defensive play that time by. By the wolf bat. So Eaton is the up man here. The quarterback is 10 players right now, by the way. And yep, they need another man to be in there in the.

No, no, that just and so they'll go with Eaton as. And there's a high snap that's dropped by this by the punter and he is tackled back at the 35 yard line. Big play. So a high snap and the punter barely was able to grab that Tommy Price and he goes down at the 35 yard line and that's where North Central will have it at the West Valley 35 here with 840 remaining here in the fourth quarter.

And they are moving from left to right or from west to east as we look at it here at Union Stadium. Ball on the left, hash the quarterback Tommy Elliott out of the shotgun.

Our Central has not had the ball for many plays here in the second half. Elliott takes the snap hands, fix it to Workman, rolls out to the right side. Now stops, wants to throw back to Workman and he sacked another one for Sar Washington. Wow, he's got three and a half sacks now in this ball game and that is seven sacks I believe. No, six sacks on the quarterback Elliott.

Well and the problem is he's trying to get the ball to Workman but he couldn't find Workman because there's a bunch of offensive linemen in the way. Workman was actually over on the sidelines on West Valley sidelines. So he looked through, couldn't find number four and that's where the sack came into play. But Washington, heck of a game as you mentioned, three nap sacks and he has been absolutely all over the field. Really cool.

Cool to see. Eight minutes remaining to play, fourth quarter. This is just the 12th play for North Central here in the second half. Trips to the left, one man wide to the right. Second and 17 after that seven yard sack on the quarterback.

Elliott out of the gun. He takes the face mask high, snap fades back, right hand throw to the left sides. Caught by Nick Elliott. He will get down to the 33 yard line so they'll gain all the yards that they lost. Back to the sack back plus a couple that'll be a pickup.

Well put him at the 34 gain of eight, it'll be third and nine. You know, that's what I like seeing. Instead of getting greedy and trying to get it all back on one play, work on it. You're in two down territory here. Third and fourth down, they're not going to kick a field goal.

They need touchdowns. Down 33, 7 for 741 to go. Good out route that time and a nice throw by the quarterback there. I like what he did. Elliot put that ball right out there, gave his receiver a chance.

So third and nine now at the West Valley 34. Four wide receivers, three to the right side. Running back to the right of the quarterback, Tommy Elliott in the backfield. He takes a low snap, fades back, pressure on, swings it out of the backfield. That bounces into Workman.

And the officials are going to say that's an incomplete pass. But that should have been a lateral. That should have been exactly my ball. Yep, that should have been a lateral and a live ball. And Workman, or rather, yeah, Workman, still could have run with it.

But the officials blow it dead. But that was a backward pass and it'll be fourth down and nine and the side judge has to come back and see that. He's got to be able to come off his spot and see that that ball is backwards. Larry, that's not the referee or the umpires call. That's got to be one of the guys on the side to slide back there and see if that ball was backwards.

So fourth down and nine and again with five officials. There's only so many places which they can be, I'm sure. So fourth down and nine at the 34 yard line of West Valley from the left. Hash out of the gun drop. Snap by the quarterback now running for his life out to the right side, still on his feet, he will keep it inside the 30.

Break. The tackle. He's got a first down, down to the 25 yard line. A fantastic run by Tommy Elliot, the the quarterback on a botched snap that he dropped. It wasn't a bad snap, he just couldn't handle it.

And Elliot gains nine, but he is cramping now or no, he has a flat tire. Somebody gave him a flat. They may have to take a timeout for him to get his shoe on his foot. As the clock counting down with 25 on the play clock and time called here by the officials. He tries to get his shoe back on his foot.

I did that one time. I stepped in a puddle and sucked my shoe right. I couldn't find my Shoe. I had to go back and find the right puddle. That was disappointing.

So a nine yard pickup there and still struggling with his shoe is Elliott. He might have to come out of the game here. I'll bet she's got a. What do they call a spat job where he's got the tape. Yep.

That's my guess is he's got. Or they have inserts sometimes that gets caddy wampus and you know you just got to get, get the shoe right. If the shoe doesn't fit comfortably, that, that's no fun. So now who's the quarterback? I don't know.

Oh, they're gonna, gonna go Wildcat would. Nope. They've got Eli Williams I think in a quarterback now. I think Workman's. Nope.

Eli Williams is the quarterback. Workman is to his right in the backfield. There's Williams hands it to Workman off the left side inside the 25 down to about the 23. Maybe the 22 yard line goes workman there on first down. No good eyes there, Larry.

Thank you for, for pointing that out and good job that time and good experience for that young man coming in. And I think they're going to give. I think they're going to give Elliott. Nope, he's coming back into play. So Elliot's got his shoe back on his foot now and he's back in there on second down and eight after the two yard pickup for Workman from the 23 of North Central inside of 630 remaining to play here in the fourth quarter.

Clock running 33:7 West Valley at a North Central NC though driving three receivers split left, one to the right. Elliott down to five on the play. Clock takes the snap, fades back, looks left, throws left to the sidelines. That balls caught at the 20 yard line. Running into the middle of the field and now getting tackled is Eli Williams as he will get it down to the 18 yard line.

That'll be a gain of five yards. I don't like the fact that they're giving ground when they catch the football. Plant that foot, get up field. They're trying to make a big play and outrun the corner. You're going to do better job if you just head up field instead of looping back as you allow all the pursuit from the linebackers, the defensive end and the secondary guys to come over and finally knock you down.

I think if he plants that foot he's probably a yard or two away from the first down. Instead of three or four I have Elliott unofficially 17 out of 24 for 163 yards. Third down and three ball on the left hash. One receiver splits left, three men wide to the right. Elliott from the gun movement up front and in the neutral zone is Bale.

And that's the third time at least that Elliott has drawn West Valley offsides. That'll give him a Damon orthodontics first down. He must have a very good hard count to get those guys to jump like that. And it was funny because I was watching the the West Valley sidelines. The referee headlinesman over there through the flag, went straight up in the air and got lodged at the face mask of the wide receiver.

So he reached in, pulled the flag out and gave it back to the official. That was pretty good throw. So the ball down to the 13 yard line here. First down and 10 for North Central at the west valley. Thirteen on the left hash.

Have Rios, Mance and Elliot and the running back Workman all out to the left side and two men wide to the right. Tommy Elliott the quarterback, Nick Elliott the receiver to the left. Tommy takes the snap low, then there are a lot of pressure. Is going to be overrun. There were four defenders, three defenders right in there on him.

And guess who was there first. It was Czar Washington. And that puts him back to the 17 yard line for a loss of nine. That is the seventh sack of the ball game. Four for Czar Washington.

What a day. Wow, he has a great get off. I mean he's actually, you know, splitting the gap between the guard and the tackle and they can't block him. He's got really good quickness there. You'd mentioned he's been a defensive end.

They moved him inside to tackle. They saw a matchup on film that these guys haven't been able to block him because of his quickness. So second and 19 now or. Yeah, second and 19 now. They've got to go down to the three yard line for a first down.

They're at the 22 here. Low snap, grabbing it as Elliott looking to the right, under pressure again. He'll heave it out of the backfield. Caught by Workman. This is a lateral inside the 30 and he will be knocked down as he gets to about the 23 yard line.

That's going to be a loss of a yard and a good job by the West Valley defense, Levi Barham among others, to bring him down. A loss of another yard. It'll be third and 20. Yeah, nice job at space by Barnum that time to come up there. And they're basically daring him to throw that ball in the flat, they're dropping back and they're able to rush four and drop seven.

And really not a lot of space for these receivers from North Central to be able to work because they're getting covered. So third down and 20, clock counting down at 340 and the clock is running here. Down to 11 on the play clock. Third and 20 at the west valley. 23 three for North Central.

They've got trips to the left, one man wide to the right, snap back, low grab by the quarterback Elliott under pressure, heaves it out to the right side, has a catch at the 20 yard line. And getting knocked out of bounds is Rios mance at the 21. That's a two yard pickup, but it'll be fourth down and 18 here. Ashton settled number five, the corner hit him twice, he knocked him backwards and that still didn't knock him off his heath. Ed, he came up again and knocked him out of pounds.

Do you get two tackles for that or is that just a half? You get a half an assist since you did make the play the first time. So fourth down and 18. I think it's just one tackle. You make the solo tackle on your own there, but you get a missed tackle, animate tackle, there you go.

You might have a missed tackle out of that. So instead of getting a minus for the missed tackle and a plus for the main tackle, you get just a zero. All right, third down, fourth down and 20 here. Okay, there we go from the 21 yard line. They gotta go.

That is Turley. Just a straight design quarterback run and Turley gains about six yards there he is a hundred and seventy pound sophomore.

So Turley in the game gain six on first down. It'll be second down and four here. North Central playing with they don't have a whole lot of subs but they have a lot of their best players out now limping around because of injuries or cramps. Both the Elliott's are out, Dewey is out. Here's a snap back and another run to the left side by the quarterback and Turley will take it out to the 19 it looks like.

And that will be good for a Damon Orthodontics first down and a pickup of about five more yards and that's all you really need to do. You just needed to get that first down. You can pretty much burn the clock here you know from unless North Central decides to take some timeouts. But this game's pretty much in the books. This will be a big win for West Valley.

Gets them right back where they need to be. They got to continue to win as you mentioned because of that loss to Shadow park and North Central played well. I thought they showed some improvement in some fight. Just had too many critical mistakes at the wrong time. Carson Burke is also out of the game for North Central so they've got a lot of backups in there.

Here's a run on first down and crossing the 20 and getting out to about the 22 yard line goes the running back. They've got a new man in there that is Connor Farouli and so Farool he gets about three or four yards there. Well Eaton, Clark and Walker kind of the guys we thought they were the stars tonight. Offensively for West Valley they were able to make plays. Let's give the offensive line a lot of credit.

They were able to block and also open holes for the running backs and the quarterbacks to get some really substantial yardage. They might have a new quarterback in. They do. And on first down it's a run off the left side and Ferruli again in there will gain another four yards or so and it'll bring up third down and short as Hunter Harlander is in at quarterback now 5ft 8, 140 pounds sophomore replacing Turley.

So getting both young quarterbacks, both sophomore quarterbacks, a little bit of game time and get maybes. Probably your JV guy, give him a chance to play in a varsity game that all fires those lads up, make them practice a little bit harder during the week. Another new running backs in the game on third down and short and the quarterback will keep it into the middle of the field crossing the 30. Nice run getting out close to the 35 yard line for 140 pounder there he moved the pile. Hunter Harlander, he'll get it out to the 36 yard line and that'll be a first down play.

It started out well for North Central as they got the ball to start the game and drove right down the field and took the early lead. It was an eight play 77 yard drive and Tommy Elliott the quarterback found Cameron Dewey the wide receiver on a 30 yard passing touchdown. Point after was good. It was seven to nothing. Then it was looking good for North Central as West Valley fumbled in their first effort and Tommy Elliott recovered that fumble from the running back Judah Clark and North Central took over the West Valley 46.

They drove down to the 12 yard line on 4th and 2. They were decided to try for a field goal. There was either a mishandled snap or a fake try or whatever it was. It failed and West Valley took over at their own 12 and they drove down the field. Rashawn Eaton, a one yard rushing touchdown kept an 88 yard drive.

It was seven to seven at that point. Then after a punt in the second quarter of play, West Valley takes the lead for good on this play which is our Adams tractor play of the game. Out of the gun. Snap back waist tight. Eaton throws deep down the right side looking for Walker.

Got him on the run at the five into the end zone. Touchdown. Beautifully thrown pass that time from her Sean Eaton to Brady Walker. That is a 41 yard passing hookup. And West Valley has their first lead of the game with 7 1/2 minutes remaining to play here in the first half.

The point after no good. It was 13 to 7 after North Central punted. West Valley gets the ball back. Another 41 yard pass play from Eaton to Walker. Point after no good.

It was a 19 to 7 game start of the second half. West Valley march right down the field 59 yards. Another Eaton rushing touchdown, his second of the game. This one from 8 yards made it 26 to 7 as Walker booted the path. Then after a North Central punt it was Judah Clark getting in on the scoring.

It had been eaten with two rushing touchdowns and two passing touchdowns to Walker. This time around it's Clark for an 18 yard rushing touchdown 33 to 7. And that was the end of the scoring here in this one, you know, just a great job. Give Eaton credit. Walker was the big play guy that we thought.

Judah Clark I thought had an outstanding game. He rushed for over 100 yards and and let's give West Valley's defense a lot of kudos as well Larry because they kept North Central with the exception of that first touchdown drive. You know Elliott to Dewey. They kept him out of the end zone from that point on and I thought put a lot of pressure on the quarterback and really made life miserable for North Central offensively. Yeah, seven sacks in this ballgame.

Let's see here. I was negligent and didn't add this stuff up when I should have. 208, 230, 247 rushing yards for West Valley. 159 passing for 406 yards of total offense for North Central. They end up with minus 23 rushing because of all the sacks.

179 passing for 156 yards of total offense in this ball game, individually in this one for West Valley. Rashawn Eaton had 93 yards on the ground in this game and a couple of touchdowns. Judah Clark, he rushed 14 times for 115 yards and a touchdown. I think it was 18 carries for 93 yards for Rashawn Eaton. Nobody else carried the ball more than a couple of times for West Valley in the game.

Eaton passing unofficially 10 out of 14 for 159 yards and two touchdowns. Walker, six catches for 124 yards and two scores. And Judah Clark had four catches for 35 yards for North Central. Workman had six carries for six yards in the ball game. He was the only rusher with more than than plus yardage in this one.

Elliott had nine carries for a minus 26 yards, but he was sacked seven times in the contest. I had Elliott unofficially 19 of 26 passing, 179 yards, one touchdown, no interceptions. Eli Williams, seven catches, 46 yards. Cameron Dewey three for 65 and a touchdown. Workman, four catches for 20 yards.

He was a pain, you know, he was in the backfield all the time hassling the quarterback, getting him to the ground or just making him make decisions that he really didn't want to because he had to get rid of the football to avoid getting another sack. Great game by Mr. Washington. Very well deserved.
