And Chris, what is happening in Mount Spokane High School school is what, about a month underway now? A little more than a month underway. What's happening with the school? Yeah, we got our six week grade checks coming up here next week and so things are popping. They're busy.

All of our sports are busy. They're having Great Falls kind of with our football team leading the charge at 6. And oh, and just great coaches, great kids and we're all excited for them. A couple of big games coming up here in this stadium in the next two weeks for the, for the Wildcats. Next week, Gonzaga Prep comes to town and in all likelihood a battle of unbeaten teams.

And then you've got the battle of the bell to wrap up the regular season last weekend of the month. Yeah, these next Two weeks are great. You know it's going to be finally got football weather so you know, prep's going to be a great game for them. So is Mead. My old friend Keith Stamps is doing a nice job over there at Mead and just kind of looking forward to that matchup too.

I know the kids are excited about it and the students, the community, everyone's really looking forward to the next two weeks. Is there anything coming up here at Mount Spokane that people need to know about as far as events or things outside of the football game that you want people know? Well, you know what, they got their big craft fair coming up this weekend which is, I know is a hit here with the community. But yeah, you know we've got postseason that's going to be starting here pretty soon for a lot of our sports and everyone's going to be participating in that and have high expectations for them there. But you know, it's just kind of countdowns on for battle with Bell in a couple of weeks and this place will be packed out.

It is about as good as atmosphere as there is out there for high school football. That is a lot of fun. If you have not been to one of those games, you need to lay your hands on tickets for that game and those will be in short supply, I'm sure. Absolutely. Those are going on sale here coming up.

I believe they're going to open that up and the sales will be online only and so that's going to be a pre sale only. They're not going to sell tickets at the gate and so they will be, they'll be advertising that pretty heavily amongst both schools and down into our elementaries and middle schools and making sure and get the worst it out. Paul Sorensen now alongside and you Know, this is, this is, this is a game Mount Spokane can't overlook. But this would be an upset if it's a close game in the end. Well, you have, you know, Chaminade, Virginia, I mean, there, there's USC played Stanford. They were 48 point favorites and lost.

Tavita Pritchard was a quarterback on that. You know, every game, you never know you've got to come in ready for Barry because you never know when all the breaks are going to go against you. Maybe you just have an off game. Maybe, you know, the team that they're playing against is playing over their head. You know, Cheney just needs some positive stuff.

They've had a rough, they're having a rough time stopping people running the ball and they're not doing, they're not getting enough, you know, guys into the end zone. So they've got to do a better job of scoring. They can turn the football over and they just have to basically limit Mount Spokane in terms of what they're doing because Mount Spokane is awfully explosive. The number five team in the state. They have guys all over the place that can be, you know, that can be playmakers.

And so I think it's going to be an interesting game tonight to see how, how Cheney comes out and if they can, can hang in there as opposed to letting things get away quickly. All right, a little inside baseball. We closed the window to try to stay warmer in here, but we don't have a crowd, Mike, so we have to leave the windows open. Oh, well. So if you hear me go at the end of the game, it's not that I'm not losing it.

I'm just frozen. It's not that cold. Well, we're wimpy. We wipe. That's a little heater, isn't it?

Yeah, there you go. That's actually pretty cool. Look at Noah. Noah's in the booth here. He's taking good care of us.

He set up several fires. We've already burned down the back of the press box, so we've got more windows now going out the backside. I don't know if that's a good thing. All right, so we have Mount Spokane taking on Cheney here this evening. And this season for Mount Spokane, it's been some, for the most part, some fairly easy games.

They defeated U High 47 to 20. They had a tough test with Ridgeline. They won that game 28:20, beat LC 34 to 7, knocked off Ferris 51, 14, beat Post Falls. In their non conference game. They got down 13 nothing.

But then one at 2913. And last week against Central Valley, they were held to their lowest point total the season, 23 points in a 23:13 win. TJ Haberman, the quarterback for Mount Spokane, threw two interceptions. He had thrown two in the first five games total. So he had a little bit of an off game, but still a 10 point win for Mount Spokane.

In that game for Cheney, they've lost 34, 6 to Gonzaga Prep, 42, 28 to Ferris, 28, 7 to Seabee. And the last three weeks have been rough for the Blackhawks. They have allowed 130 points scored in those three weeks. They've lost to U high 40 to 14, to LC 44 nothing and to Ridgeline 46 to 6. And those are some good teams.

And, you know, that's tough. Jeannie's moved up. You know, they've got, they've got some, some seniors, but they have a lot of sophomores and juniors on this team. So, you know, head coach Bobby Boyd is trying to figure out a way to kind of make things work and, you know, get this team to function. Their quarterback, who's a senior as well, you know, has done a, done a nice job on, you know, on passing.

Unfortunately, you're going up against an offense in Mountsville can that's filthy. They've got, they've got the number. I think he's the number two receiver in the league in Bodie Gardner, who's averaging 20 yards a catch. So two first downs every time he touches the football, eight touchdowns on the day. You know, just, it's, it's a football team that, that is very balanced.

They run fly sweeps, they'll attack you between the tackles. They play action. You need to get you to come up, try to stop the run. Then they throw the ball over your head. Cheney's got to get some kind of rhythm that way, Larry.

You know, where they, they figure out a way to stop it. You've got to be really good with your defensive ends and your linebackers have to be able to scrape and your defensive backs are going to have to be able to make tackles in space. So it's going to be a tough test. But, you know, one of these games, Cheney's going to, you know, put it all together and figure out a way to bounce back and play well. The two way side of things, Colville plays Shadow park in the non league game. That'll be the early game at 1 Spokane Stadium starting at 5. Pullman is at Clarkston, Rogers at East Valley.

North Central visits West Valley coming up tomorrow. Tonight 2A girls soccer it's West Valley at East Valley, Rogers at Pullman, Clarkston is at Shadow park. Two way volleyball tonight it's a West Valley at East Valley, Rogers at Pullman, Shadow park hosting Clarkston 3A 4A volleyball tonight, Gonzaga Prep at CV LC and Mead and a big matchup at Mead tonight.

When you look at the Associated Press Top 10 high school polls which came out today, not much going on with the GSL or in Eastern Washington in these polls, Mt. Spokane is ranked fourth, excuse me, is ranked fifth in the AP poll and they are the only GSL team in 3A.

4A ranked West Valley is tied for ninth in the two way poll. Now as far as Eastern Washington goes in the ap, Moses Lake is number nine in the foray. Kennewick is. Or excuse. Yeah, Kennewick is tied for seventh in the 3A and then in the RPI, which is the important one, Mt.

Spokane is number three and 3A and that means you would get a quarterfinal game at home in that particular situation if you, you know, if the seeds held and all that went on. West Valley is seventh in that RPI or excuse me, ninth and no, they are third. Excuse me, I can't read my own writing. West Valley third in the rpi. SHADL is ninth in the RPI and that would not quite get them a home game in the first round.

Well, no, that would get because it's a 32 team, three or no, they're two ways. So it's just 16. So they'd have to win a game and then they'd probably have to go on the road depending on what happens within Eastern Washington. Eastmont's number one and they're not even ranked in the AP poll. Yeah, it's interesting.

And anytime you get bodies in there, they're going to have agendas and it just makes it tough because a lot of the people that are voting are on the west side and they're not seeing these teams, you know, which is, which is disappointing. But that's, that leaves the work for you to go out and play and impress people and beat whoever's on your schedule. And that'll take care of it. Moses Lake, number 2, Chijuana, number 10. Gonzaga perhaps 17th in the 4A.

On the 3A side, Ridgeline is 17th. So that's what's going on in the latest rankings. Time for our keys to the game presented by State Bank Northwest. Well, let's talk with Cheney first. The four T's, tempo, turnovers, time of possession and TD's.

So basically I just created that. That was pretty cool, actually. Yeah, pretty good. I'm proud of myself. Very impressive.

Anyway, the tempo side really is for Cheney to get some rhythm going. Coffin. Their quarterbacks got a couple of receivers to throw to and Lehrer, Stinson and Collins and those are guys that can make some play. So work on that tempo, try to put together some drives. Can't turn the football over.

You cannot give Mount Spokane extra time of possession. They're going to really hurt you. And that plays in the time of possession thing. Try to put together drives that keeps that Mt. Spokane offense on the sidelines.

And when you get the opportunity, put the football in the end zone. You've got to score touchdowns. You're not going to beat this football team. They're basically last in total offense. Cheney Is, and they're 15th in total D, so they've got some work for them.

On the other side, Terry Clore's the Wildcat team is pretty darn good and they, they average 30, almost 31 points a game. They're number one in total offense at 415 yards a game. They're number four in total defense. They have guys, Bodhi Gardner, who's, who's got eight touchdowns in the season. They have an outstanding quarterback.

They have running backs that do a really good job. They're loaded in terms of, in terms of depth and they're a senior dominated team. They have nine seniors that are starting on offense, eight seniors that are starting on defense. This is a team that's experienced, expects to win and wants to come out and put teams away. And that's a sign, in my opinion, Larry, of a very veteran, solid football team.

They come out, control the tempo, cause turnovers, take advantage of those turnovers and win the game. All right, Those are your keys to the game. Coming into tonight's ball game is the Cheney Blackhawks look to pull a major upset against the Mt. Spokane Wildcats. We will have more on the pregame show after we pause for this timeout.

They will have up front Kristen Gonzalez at center, Michael Walsh and Gage Subert are the guards and Kaden Straley and Chris Houndognobo are the. I know I'm not getting that name right. Houndon Nogbo, Houndon Ogbo I think is how it is. What are you laughing about? You're no better at it than I am.

I'm going to just call him 71. I couldn't I butcher it. So at any rate those that's the starting front line. Carter Ittner is the tight end. Camden Collins, Mason Stinson, Cordell Lauer are the wide receivers.

Lahar was the first team all GSL selection last year as a junior. Tank Best is a sophomore running back and Sam Coffin is the senior quarterback for this team. On defense they play out of the 3 4. Gage Subert, Matt McCumber, Bryce Delang are the defensive front. Alex Hubbard, Wayne Richmond, Tank best and Jayshawn McDonald are the linebackers.

Camden Collins, Andrew Houndon, Ogbo Cordell Laher and Chris Wilson are the defensive backs for the Mount Spokane Wildcats coached by Terry Clore in his ninth year. He will have Lance Airy, a junior over the ball at center. He is the only non senior starter on. Oh, excuse me, there's one other non senior starter. They have nine senior starters on offense.

Airy over the ball at center is one of them a junior. Josh Smith and Jacob Palmer, a couple of seniors are at guard and then the other non senior, Payton Day is at one tackle, he's a junior and Spencer Darie is at the other tackle. Their slot receivers, Orion Borchers and Matteo Sakamano who will do the bulk of the ball carrying for this team from his slot position. The receivers, the outside receivers are Bodegard and Talon Main, the Fullback is Ben Jormund. He will not rush the ball.

He might catch the ball. And then the quarterback is TJ Abraman. He has thrown for 1275 yards overall on the season. 12 touchdowns and four interceptions. A returning first team all conference selection, Mount Spokane also plays out of the 3 4.

Spencer Derry is at one tackle, Josh Smith at the other tackle. And over the nose is Jacob Palmer, that 290 pound nose guard. The outside linebackers are Maverick Norman and Jaden Sherman. The inside linebackers are Brayton Ayers and Ben Jormund. The corners are Devon Khalil and Jason Bonnet.

And the safeties or Ryan Borchers and Bodhi Gardner. And those are your starters for this ballgame. Mount Spokane in there. What color would you say that is? It's kind of a denim blue is what it looks like.

I would say you're talking to a guy that's colorblind. So. Looks blue to me. Looks good. Actually looks black.

Well, yeah, it's not really black, but it's kind of a grayish maybe it's kind of a charcoal perhaps, but Noah's got better eyesight than us and he's going with the charcoal. Alrighty then. A touchdown for Mount Spokane. A 60 yard passing touchdown on the first play from scrimmage as TJ Haberman finds Bodie Gardner. And just like that, 15 seconds into the game, it's six nothing. Mount Spokane. Well, that was just a two go routes on that side and the poor safety picked the guy in the inside and and body who's averaging 20 yards of catch.

That's his ninth touchdown on the day. Great job. Or ninth touchdown on the season. But that was just a nice throw. He went up, was able to house it in front of the safety and he's a sprint champion as a scholarship to run track right now at the University of Idaho and you can see why.

Mount Spokane with a pat. Here's the deep kickoff. Camden Collins. He has two kickoff returns for touchdowns this year. Bounces to the right side, crosses the 20 trying to get to the outside.

Can't do it. He'll be stopped at the 25 and that's where the Blackhawks will have it. First down and 10 here for their first possession on offense and they'd like nothing more than to have a little drive here even if they don't get any points to take three or four minutes off the clock at the very least.

Well, Camden Collins also as averaging 15 yards a catch. He's got three touchdowns. He's explosive on special teams and you're right, I think they just have to be able to kind of protect Mouse. Spokane's very good up front. Maybe quick passes here, run occasionally, but just get the ball out, get it to your playmakers and see what they can do.

Empty backfield to receivers split to either side as the quarterback Samuel Coffin brings a man in motion from the outside and flags come in. We're going to get a false Start on Cheney. They tried to give it away on a fly sweep to Mason Stinson. And that gets blown back. Mason's a good, good young man.

He and his brother come out and actually mow my yards. Hey, take good care of yours truly because I can't find the mower. So they, they've been outstanding the last couple years and work hard, good, hard working young men out there. Good for him. All right, Very good.

Sorry, just came a little plug. A five yard penalty makes it first and 15 now for the Blackhawks back on their 20 yard line here. They will have Laura and Collins split to the left side and two men wide to the right. Again, an empty backfield with a tight end in the formation set to the right side. And now they'll try the same play.

Fly sweeps. Stinson trying to get outside, cuts up field, gets the five yards back. They lost and might have gotten an extra yard. Nope, looks like they'll put him down right at the 25 yard line. Ryan Borcher's there to knock him down after a five yard pickup.

Stinson's only a sophomore. He's also the backup quarterback and a pretty darn good baseball and basketball player. Nice job that time. Good blocking on the left side. Positive yards on, on first down.

Just can't have a penalty. Second down and 10. Now two receivers again to either side. Tight end is set to the right side here on second down and 10. And they want to throw it.

Coffin on a quick slant, has a receiver and he should have first down yardage. It's Collins getting out over the 35 yard line to the 36. That's going to be a pickup of 11 and a Damon Orthodontics. First down, 20th, 21st catch for Collins. Nice job on that play.

Just a slant. They're running double slants. You had Stinson to the outside running a slant. He had Collins on the inside, was able to get right behind the linebacker. Very nice throw that time by the quarterback.

Coffin as well. He put it right on the button. Now two backs in the backfield with Coffin. Let's see if they both stay there. They will not.

Itner will split out. Tank Best is in as a running back. Now they have three receivers split to the left side, one man split to the right. The outside receiver is their best receiver, Laura. And they will hand it off to Tank Best and he'll shuffle into the middle and pile his way out close to the 39 yard line.

That's a gain of about three. Three on first down and see, this is the kind of drive that Cheney needs. You know, you're. You're keeping the ball on the ground. Good quick completions.

That keeps the clock running. You really want to put together a nice drive. You want to keep that Mount Spokane. We've already seen how explosive they are. This is exactly what Cheney needs to do.

Move the sticks on first down like they did with that tank run. Second down and seven. They've got two players to either side. Itner is out to the right side along with Mason Stinson. And they have Collins and Lahar split to the left.

They're running out of time on the play clock here. They're down to three, down to two. Or excuse me, they're down to five. Got a pole in the way. I got a pole in the way.

Here's the back to throw is the quarterback. He's being pressured. Flips a pass out and it's incomplete. Trying to find Laher. He was covered out there for Mount Spokane by Jason Bonnet.

And so it'll be an incomplete pass. And third and seven. Bonnet was smart. He was crafty on that. He was able to reach out and grab the result.

Receiver kind of broke to the outside on that scramble play, and that was enough to kind of slow him down there. But officials had them bracketed. Could not see kind of the stuff that was going on in the inside. Big, heavy pressure that time on Cheney. Big third down here with 10:30 to go here in the first quarter.

Seven nothing in favor of Mount Spokane. It's third down and about seven now for the Blackhawks. Empty backfield. Two receivers to either side. Tight end set to the right.

Snap back to Coffin. Looks to the right side pressure, throws deep to the right side. Jump ball type situation. Incomplete. And it was overthrown for Camden Collins.

But it was overthrown for Camden Collins because he stopped running and thought he had to try to jump against Gardner for the ball and ended up settling about five yards over his head. Yeah, Gardner kept running. He would have maybe caught the ball. He was open on the wheel initially. I mean, they ran a wheel route.

Inside receiver or outside receiver, and a post. Inside receiver ran the wheel. Gardner's one of the fastest players, you know, in the Greater Spokane League. If he would have thrown that ball a little bit earlier, they could have had themselves a big play. Talon or, excuse me.

On to punt now for Cheney is Jason Carrier. Bodegardner stands back at his own 30. Low snap back, but Carrier gets it away. Good boot downfield. Fair catch called for and taken at the 30.

5 by Bodie Gardner. So that ends up being a 26 yard putt with no return. And Mount Spokane takes the ball back at their own 20. At their own 35, I should say, with 10:19 left here in the first quarter. They will have Gardner and one other receiver split to the left side and two men wide to the right. There is a running back in the backfield here with Haberman and he'll hand it off to him. Bounces outside on the right side over the 40, cuts to the sidelines, gets to the 45 and struggles forward to the 46, maybe the 47 before he is brought down. Lahore there for Cheney along with Henry Hubs to bring him down. But that is a gain of 12 and a first. Actually gain of 13 and a first down. Nice blocking on the right side.

They seal the right end there. Then you had wide receiver on corner. Lahar was trying to fight off the wide receiver, and by the time he did, he was already seven, eight yards downfield. And that's tough. You got a running back going full speed, you've got a blocker engaged.

That's a tough matchup. So now first and 10, Mount Spokane at their own 48. From the right hash, trips left, one man, wide right. Haberman from the gun, wants to throw, looks left, being pressured, pump fake, runs to the right side, hit as he throws downfield. That is tipped and intercepted by cheney at the 48 yard line.

And Bodegardner brings down the man that intercepts the pass. That is Wayne Richmond, a senior linebacker. And Cheney gets an interception and good field position right around midfield. Great job that time by Richmond, because what he did, he kind of deked the quarterback there. He looked like he was going to rush and he dropped back underneath the coverage.

He reached up with one hand, was able to kind of deflect it back to himself. Caught the ball, big turnover. Threw two of them, you know, last week. So that's something that Haberman's got to be careful on. And this is the kind of thing where you need to take advantage of your Cheney.

You just got to turn over, come up with a big play. We have one receivers now, two receivers split to the left side. Ball on the left hash mark, one man wide right. Running back in the backfield along with the quarterback. Coffin, who takes the high snap, hands it to Best.

Runs off the right tackle, crosses the 50, gets down to the 45 and is filled there. Tank Best not built like a tank. He is 5ft 7, 160 pounds. A sophomore, but a nice run 6 yards, good vision. He basically the tackle and guard were able to kind of wall their, their player off.

A defensive end came inside. Best saw that and he bounced it. Did a nice job of maybe sitting in the, in the family room watching film with his father over the years has paid off. But that was a great read and a solid run. On first down, the son of Aaron Best, Eastern Washington University's head football coach.

On second and four, Best gets the call again off left guard. Breaks a couple of tackles. Good tough run. And as close to first down yardage, he gets down to the 42 of Mount Spokane. He's a yard short of the line needed to gain.

It'll be third and one. I think this is two down territory. You've got to turn over. Your offense is feeling pretty good. You're starting to move the ball.

They've got to put something together here and the best way to do that quickly. They're gonna do quarterback sneak here. Coffin under center. They will try to burrow it Forward against a 290 pound nose guard. But they are able to move him enough to get a couple of yards in the play.

Sam Coffin with a quarterback sneak and a first down to the 40. Philadelphia Eagles are the best in the world at doing that. They call it the tush push, where they get behind that huge offensive line and they just root those guys out of there and they seem to get three, four yards every time. Two, three yards. I mean in really tough situations.

It's exactly what Cheney got. We have one man, actually it's going to be two men. Split to the left side now. Ball in the center of the field and split to the right side is Mason Stinson, a tight end set to the right as well. First down and 10 for the Blackhawks.

Out of the shotgun. They hand it to Tank. Best off the right side. Hit in the backfield and stop for a loss that time. Great penetration through there.

And then Ben Jormun was there to clean it up. Also getting some help that time from Jaden Sheuerman. And it's a loss of a yard that time. They brought both inside backers, shot the A gap. Really no place for, for Tank to go.

They just kind of overwhelmed him at the Point of attack. So they had a run blitz on that time on first down and Tank literally ran into a wall. So he's gonna come back and goes, okay, guys, maybe we should throw it on second now. Second and 11. They have four wide receivers in the game.

Two to either side here. Clock running seven, 40 left. First quarter, seven nothing. Mount out of the shotgun. Coffin gets a high snap, fades back to the 50, sets his feet looking, has time now pressured out, runs to the right, now comes back to the left and is going to get called for intentional grounding maybe.

Now a flag comes in. I think he more lost the ball than anything else. I think he wanted to throw it, but he lost it. I mean, he's complaining about it, but it's a fumble if it's not a forward pass. Almost looked like he was trying to pick the ball up with his shoulder, like kind of like a pitcher.

But you know, I thought maybe he thought he saw somebody over there, but that was an offensive lineman, so he threw that. And that's a tough penalty. That's a spot foul and that's a loss of down. So they're gonna, they're gonna punish him on that one. And that's too bad because they, he had guys open, running right down the middle.

They're gonna, they're gonna mark that off. And then I think it's a 10 yard penalty and then it's also loss of down. So that's a, that's a biggie or five, five yard. Sorry. So it'll be third and 16 now for Cheney with 729 remaining to play.

Second penalty on Cheney here in this ball game. So a big third and 16 here. And here's one where you'd like to get 8 or 10 yards probably if you can, and maybe give you a chance to go for. If you get down 36, 37, 38 yard line, you don't need a big play, you just need kind of a decent one. Four wide, two to either side.

Pressure coming, Coffin running out to the left side, gets hit, fumbles the ball. Rolling loose inside the 45. Who's got it? Mount Spokane. That is the nose guard, Jacob Palmer, who comes away with it.

And so Mount Spokane gives it up on a turnover and then gets it back on the fumble. And they get it their own 43. Great pressure that time from the backside. And you know, Coffin was trying to roll left and he was getting ready to throw. He got blown up.

He didn't see the guy coming in there and that was enough to force the Fumble. So you've got two turnovers. Nice interception by Richmond for Cheney, but they're not able to capitalize because they turned the ball right back over. So now Mount Spokane gets it back at their own 43 from the right hash. First down and 10.

They've got main and Borchers split to the right side. Now Borchers will come off to the left and Sacamono will take the inside slot position on the right. Three men, wide left. Haberman brings Sacamono in motion, takes a low snap, hands it to him. Fly sweep, left side, trying to get to the corner, running laterally, breaks a tackle, fumbles the ball and it rolls out of bounds at the 47 yard line.

So both teams with a case of the dropsy so far, but that one goes out of bounds for Sacamono and it's a gain of 4. That is Bodie Gardner put in the 44. That is a gain of nine and a Damon Orthodontics first down. Well, he's got 69 yards and two catches. That kind of hurts the old average a little, but still, that's not bad. That's about 34 and a half yards of catch.

Good little core route. Nice job by the corner to come up there. Open field tackle. You cannot let Bode get up to full speed. He's going to run by everybody.

Gardner is split to the left side, ball in the left hash trips to the right. Haberman out of the gun. Sacamono. Or that might be Jorman. Actually, next to him.

It is Jorman. Here's a quick throw on a screen tale and main, cuts outside, crosses the 40, breaks a tackle. Now holding on for dear life as law her. He will wrestle him down. Getting some help from Collins as he gets down to the 34 yard line.

That is a pick up a 10 and should be a first down for Talon, Maine. Alex Hubbard was there, the linebacker initially, but he just couldn't wrap him up. He. He got there. Great timing.

He read it he just couldn't bring him down because of that spirit. So first down and 10. In fact, they'll give him 11 down to the 33 yard line here. So first and 10 from the 33 ball on the right hash. Haberman will throw, sets up, looks deep, throws left side looking for Gardner behind the defense.

And that is caught. No, knocked away. Beautiful play that time because Cordell Lars only 5 7, he was able to leap up and just get a fingertip on the ball. I thought it went over his hand into Gardner's belly, but it did not. Pass breakup.

Good job by him. And he jumped at the right time. It looked like he was coming down. Just got a paw on it. Maybe a finger, maybe a fingernail, but it was enough to make a difference and kind of deflected that ball or that was a touchdown.

And that's where the receiver, the quarterback's got to lead him a little bit more to the back of the. Or even if he didn't touch it, maybe he got his hand in the face of Gardiner, who he couldn't see the ball until it was. He got a hand on it. Larry. I think he was able to get up there and do a little enough that it broke that playoff.

So second and 10 and they'll give it away. And a little counter to Sac Amounto. And it's open inside the 30, cuts outside 25, cuts up the numbers over the 20 and has wrestled down finally as he gets to the 17 yard line as Alex Hubbard was down there to help bring him down along with another Blackhawk.

But a nice gain for Sakamato and another first down and that's. What do you think. You've got this team stopped. They come back and run that inside handoff for the fly sweep or they run a little zone read to the outside. They're really good between the tackles.

They do a nice job with that offensive line. And so you start getting wider on your splits on defense, and that opens up some running lanes which Sakamoto was able to take advantage of. Yeah, they faked the handoff in the fly sweep going left and then handed it back to Sakamono. And the counter play going right and it was wide open. Gain a 16 and a first down.

Main split to the right, ball on the right hash. Three men wide left. Haberman looks left, pump fake, comes back to the right on a screen caught. That is Jormun, the fullback. He'll get inside the 10.

Lost the ball and Cheney's got it. Second turnover the first quarter for Mount Spokane and Cheney recovers. That might have been Richmond again. 33. I think you're right.

No, they. Tank Best. Yeah, it was 13, not 33. Aaron's gonna be all over me on Saturday on that one. Great job, Tank.

Nice job. Fumble recovery, boy. So there is a nine yard passing gain to the fullback, Jormun, and then the fumble recovered by Best and Cheney has it at their own seven yard line here. 534 remaining. First quarter, seven nothing.

Mount Spokane, two turnovers on the Wildcats here in the first quarter of play. And they will throw it out quickly and cutting outside as Collins makes a man miss, crosses the 10 and is knocked off his feet close to the 14 yard line. Good hit there by Bodegardner to bring him down at the 14, gain of seven. So he's got two catches for 17 yards. I like that, that quick pass to the outside.

Then what you do is you run a double move. You fake that, that throw, you let your inside receiver run a corner or a go route, and he'll run right by the corner because they're going to come flying up to try to stop that. That's something you'll see later in the game. Second down and three after that seven yard pickup ball on the right hash at their own 14 here for the Blackhawks. Best, the running back to the left of the quarterback Cawthon, who takes the snap and hands it to him.

Best runs into his own offensive lineman and struggles forward to the 15. His guard, I think, got knocked into the backfield and when Best got the ball, he ran right into the back of the guard, had to bounce away from him and got a yard on the play. It's hard enough when you're going up against 11 guys there, but when you got 12 because one of them's your own dude, that makes it tough. That was just an excellent job by the defensive end or tackle there who really blew that play up. And anytime you can get the offensive lineman going backwards into the.

Into the backfield, that's a pretty darn good move. So third and two now for Cheney at their own 15, clock running for 20 remaining. First quarter, seven nothing. Mount Spokane, they are going kind of with a pistol formation here. Running back a step behind the quarterback they hand it to.

Best has a little opening in the middle. He'll get out over the 20. And he is finally knocked off his feet. Actually fumbled the ball and Mount Spokane says they have it. Wow.

So Best had a little crease and somebody poked the ball away. Now the officials are talking about it, but I think it's Mount Spokane's ball here at the 20 yard line. Yes, it is. Wow. It's been hot potato here.

You know you've had two fumble recoveries. You've had an interception. It looked like that was a pretty darn good run. You had a first down by Best. I think somebody came up behind him, Larry, and just punched that ball out.

Great job. That's something they teach defensive group drills there and that was really well done. So Mount Spokane gets it on the second Cheney turnover of the first quarter. Both teams with two turnovers so far. Mount Spokane at the Blackhawk 20 in the red zone.

They hand it to Sacamono. Big opening on the left side, bounce outside 15 10, makes a man miss at the 5 and dives into the end zone for a touchdown. Matteo Sacamono with the touchdown run. A 20 yard play and Mt. Spokane has a 13 nothing lead here in the first quarter.

See, that's what you can't do. You cannot allow those guys to get those extra pops. Sakamoto broke a couple tackles. Very good blocking on the left side. He was able to kind of swerve to the sidelines and then broke a tackle by the corner on about the four yard line.

He got in there. He's been a powerful runner. Very nice run by that young man and an excellent and very well blocked up front on the left side by masvil. Can so 13 nothing. Talon main on the season.

21 out of 24. 5 now in point after tries will attempt the boot. Here's the snap back. It comes back to Maine. He's going to run to the right side.

This is a design play and Maine's going to take it in. How about that? Maine is a great receiver and it was a direct snap back to him and that was the design play. And he runs it in for a two point conversion. We'll take a break.

This is going to go out of bounds. Oops. And so that'll be a penalty and Cheney will get the ball up at their own 35 here. STCU Touchdown Drive recap pretty simple. One play, 19 yards, 8 seconds off the score clock and the touchdown run for Sacamono makes it a 4:15 to nothing game with a two point conversion play.

Well they went one play 60 yards on the first play of the game. So when Mouse Spokane gets ripping and snorting on offense, they're tough to stop. And they've had two touchdowns on two plays. That's pretty good. And two turnovers on the other two drives.

That's true. Ouch. That's not so good. So Cheney at their own 35, first down and 10, 357 to play here in the first quarter. I have another running back in the game now as they bring Ashton Schwendemann into the game.

Schwendemann is a sophomore, five nine, 150 pounds, high snap and they'll throw it and running down the Seamus Collins spins away from Bodie Gardner, gets inside the 45 and is no, they'll put him right at the 45. That's a gain at 20. And that was a nice one handed catch and a ball thrown behind him. Look like the the safety came underneath the route, tried to pick it off and he was able to go up there with one hand. As Larry mentioned, just a beautiful job and then did a little spin move there corner came over, finally knocked him down.

But a nice throw by Coffin but even better catch by Collins. That's his third catch of the day. So first down in 10 Cheney in Mount Spokane territory at the Wildcat 45. They have two receivers split to the left. Ball near the left hash mark.

One man wide right. They hand it off. Schwendemann into the middle he goes and there's not much there for him as Spencer Derry had a hold of him. He ends up getting away from all that. Getting down to the 40.

But the officials had blown the play dead. So no gain on the play. And it's not like Mount Spokane's doing a lot of games up there. They're just. Their front four is pretty darn big and they're occupying a lot of space.

There's not a lot of running room right now. You've got to be able to stay on your blocks. Give that back a little bit of time to make an adjustment so he can make a cut that right now they're not getting the time to do that. Second down and 10. Tank best back in at running back.

They will have Laura split to the left side and three men. Stinson the outside receiver. Collins the inside receiver, the tight end, Itner. All split to the right. Here comes the blitz back to throws the quarterback.

They set up a screen for best. Can he make one man miss? Can't quite do it. Dragged down from behind by Cody Basir. I believe or no.

He just went right across where the first down marker was. Took an extra step or two. Turned around and Colin Coffin was right on him. Hit him right in the hands. He tried to make a fancy schmancy move.

Just plant the foot, get up field. You get another couple yards. Good job. You're not gonna probably break a tackle, but nice job of getting that Football. Getting the first down and getting upfield.

Mason Stinson split to the right side, ball on the left. Hash Collins and Lahera go to the left. They hand it to best. Winds back to the left side. Gets hit initially by Brayton Ayers, the linebacker, and struggles forward for a couple of yards.

See where they put him? It looks like they'll put him at the 33 for a yard gain. Beyer is a pretty darn good pitcher. He's already committed to a Division 2 school down in Boise. So following in the heirs family of being pretty darn good baseball players, he's going to have himself a heck of a year coming up in the spring.

So second down and nine. Two receivers go to either side. Ball on the left. Hash Mark Coffin out of the shotgun clock, counting down to one minute remaining. Here's a high snap and he given a fly sweep.

Running to the right side and getting hit behind the line and brought down Spencer Dairy. Bringing down Cordell Lahore. No gain on the play. Boy, nice job by Derry. He read that perfectly.

He went right down the line of scrimmage, just kept his leverage there and, and you know, the receiver tried to cut up field. He was right there to make the play. And that's one of the toughest plays when you have a guy running away from you like that, being able to leverage him and finally knock him down. Loss of a couple of yards on the play. So it's going to be third down and 11 here as they spot the ball back of the 35 yard line.

Three wide receivers go left, one to the right and flags fly. This is going to be the third penalty on Cheney. In all likelihood, this will be a false start, somebody moving. So that's kind of a bummer and, and that's really what hurts a team that's struggling. You've got turnovers, you've already had two here, Larry, in the first quarter and as you mentioned, three penalties.

Those are the things that really hurt football teams that hurt your tempo. It hurts your ability to continue drives because you put yourself behind the sticks. You've got to wipe that stuff out. So third and 16 now for the Blackhawks at the Mount Spokane 40. Again, a situation where if they can get 8 or 10 yards, they'll have a chance maybe on fourth down if they choose to go for it.

If they can get it down around the 30 yard line, they've got a bunch of wide receivers back to throw Coffin out of the shotgun. High snap runs to the left side, hit in the backfield and sacked back at about the midfield stripe as Mount Spokane had a lot of pressure. That is Bo tamping that brings him down back at the midfield stripe. Loss of 10. Yeah, just a great job there and he had guys open but he was under duress.

Campion did a nice job of coming up there and and kind of securing the quarterback and they're gonna that's the end of the quarter, I think. Yep, that is the end of the quarter. So the muff punt means Cheney takes over now at the wildcat 27. So it was almost like they would have gotten the first down on that, on that play where they were sacked.

And so first down and 10 now for the Blackhawks. They've got one man split to the right side. I think that's Stinson. And then three men go to the left and they'll look to throw it on. First down deep, ball down the left side.

Looking for La. Her overthrown incomplete. Pretty good coverage down there. Bonnet was down there for Mount Spokane. Yeah, Lara had a tough chance on that one because he's out of bounds.

So he basically gave himself no leverage whatsoever on the sidelines. You've got to be tighter to the numbers and then fade towards the sidelines. He was right on the sidelines, and when he faded, he almost ended up, you know, three yards out of bounds. So that's a tough throw for a quarterback when you have, you know, a foot or two there to kind of bounce. So second down?

Yeah, second down and 10. They've got same formation. Stinson splits to the right, three men to the left, the short side of the field. Tank best the running back to the right of the quarterback. Cawthon, who takes the snap, throws a little screen.

Law her trying to juke his way across the 25, does breaks a tackle and struggles down near the 21. So he's going to get about six yards on the play. But there's a marker down over across the way. And let's see what this is going to be here. I think it's going to be a hold on Cheney, and that's exactly what it is.

So another penalty on the Blackhawks, and that's going to cost him about a six yard gain. And instead of a third and four, instead of a third and four situation, they will have a second and 20. And that's too bad. And that's probably a receiver out there. I actually somebody just grabbed cloth on that, just tried to hang on a little longer.

And Lahore did a nice job. They ran a little tunnel screen coming back to the, you know, to the quarterback, and then he bounced it back outside. So you just have to almost shadow the guy. You don't necessarily have to blow him up. You certainly don't want to hold him.

So those are things that they can work on. Those are correctable errors. It's just tough when you finally get a decent play. Looks like you got some momentum going. You get a big turnover, you hurt yourselves with penalty.

So it's a spot foul. It was walked off from the 25. The line of scrimmage was the 27th. So it's second and 18 here. But still instead of third and four, it's second and 18.

They've got one receiver, Lahar split to the left side. Three men, wide right, ball on the left hash best the running back. He goes in motion to the left, back to throw to Kaufman. Blitz coming from the outside. He throws incomplete.

Overthrown that time. Looking for Collins, his receiver running down the middle of the field and just a little overthrown there. Yeah, I think that was Jorryman 8. That came in and caused an awful lot of pressure. He had to get rid of that football quickly because he's about to get blown up.

And unfortunately the receiver was just coming open. If he could have lasted another half second or so, he would have had a great chance there for a big play. Running right across the middle. The open. The middle has been open, Larry, for this Cheney team.

They've just not taken advantage of those routes. Third and 18 now for the Blackhawks at the Mount Spokane 35. Looks like there's some confusion again and they're down to five on the play clock. So they better hustle up here. And they're gonna have to take a timeout.

That was an area that was open. Stinson's been open across the middle. They've not been able to get the ball to him. He did a nice job that time of corralling that got buried by the linebacker and the safety coming up. But he knew he's going to get hit and he.

And he did the right thing. He looked the football in and caught it. A nice throw too by Coffin. He kind of feathered that one in there and didn't get his receiver killed. Coffin unofficially six out of 1059 yards so far in this game.

Fourth and seven about well, fourth and eight we're going to call it at the 25 of Mount Spokane. Snap back. Coffin rolls to the left side looking, throws left sidelines. Ball tipped in the air and caught law her. The ball was tipped by I think a defender and went back over the defender's head and it was caught by a law her.

And that's going to be a first down down at the 16 yard line, gain of about 8 yards. How about that? His second catch of the night. And you know that was just a He threw that ball to the right guy but he just. There was a defender in the way, got a hand on it, popped it straight up in the air.

That's why you're taught as a defensive player to always swat down at the ball, not up. And so down to the 16 yard line. Gain a nine on the play to LA Her. And so first down and 10. Cheney in the red zone at the Mount Spokane 16.

Ball on the left hash running back behind the quarterback. Coffin. Four wide receivers, three to the right handoff Tank Best off the left side. Flags fly as Best gets back to the line of scrimmage, but didn't have much chance beyond that. Spencer Dairy was there among others And I'm guessing there's going to be a holding coming and they blitz that time again, both the inside backers, they're doing that.

They're doing a first down run blitz. So if Cheney's got to see that as an offensive staff and know that they're going to have a tough time, they're picking the flag up, I think. Nope, it's going to be a spot foul at the 18 yard line and so that'll be a 10 yard walk off from two yards behind the line of scrimmage. This is going to be a 12 yard penalty basically and be first and 22. The white hat looked like he was chasing gnats out there.

So sorry about that. That was my bad. But that's too bad because that's another penalty that just, you know, you've got something going and then you got to go backwards. It's really hard to play behind the sticks like this offensively when you keep making mistakes. So we'll call it first and 21 from the 27 yard line of Mount Spokane.

Law her split to the left side. Two men wide to the right. Out of the gun, snap back. Coffin wants to throw. Right side man open.

Caught at the 25 cut out field. Getting inside the 20, down to about the 18, maybe the 17 yard line is Mason Stinson. That's going to be a gain of about 10 yards. And bring up second down and pretty close to 10. He's got two catches for 20 yards.

Now Collins has three catches for 37. So they're spreading it out. Laher has a couple of catches and you know, just, just a nice job of getting, you know, their receivers involved in this. And so I think those are the kind of passes, you know, where you have multiple routes going. You have that underneath route that's been open and the routes across the middle have been open.

So second and 10 for Cheney. Clock running, nine minutes remaining. First half, Mount Spokane 15. Cheney nothing in a turnover filled first half. Three on Mount Spokane, two on Cheney.

Here's a snap back. Cawthon looks to the left. Pressure coming from the outside. He will run to the left side, gets hit, throws. But again nobody is there.

And is that going to be a grounding call? He get across the line of scrimmage? I don't. There wasn't a receiver out there that I saw no flag and so it'll be an incomplete pass, a good job to get it away and it'll be third down and 10. I think coffin felt the pressure.

That was the same thing he fumbled on in the first quarter. He was rolling to his left. He felt the pressure coming from behind him. He just got rid of the ball and unfortunately avoided a grounding penalty. So third and 10 now for Cheney at the Mount Spokane 17, 15 nothing.

Wildcats inside of nine minutes to play here in the first half. Two receivers to either side. Ball on the left hash mark. Running back out of the backfield in motion. Quick throw on the left side.

Law her has an opening inside the 10 to the 5. And he is thrown down at about the one yard line by Bodie Gardner. But a 16 yard passing gain is a Damon Orthodontics first down. First and goal now for Cheney. Third catch for Lahore.

Great job. Just a quick slant on that. Coffin did a nice job. Hit him right in stride. Now they're going to hurry it up, probably hand the ball off, see if they can get a running touchdown or a quick little slant here.

So on first and goal from the one under center is Coffin. He's kind of ran up there in a hurry. Tries to get in. Flags are down, the ball is fumbled. But I think it was after forward progress was stopped.

And in the end it's going to be a false start on Cheney. Right guard flinched, went a little bit early. And you just go, you're on the one yard line now you get to go back to the six. And what is that, their fifth or sixth penalty? Six penalty according to my list for 40 yards.

Actually 38 yards. So the five yard penalty moves the ball back to the six. So it'll be first and goal again now for Cheney. 824 remaining here in the first half. Down to 15 on the play clock as Cheney starts to make their way to the line of scrimmage.

They've got Stinson split to the right side, three men wide to the left. And Coffin wants to throw. Looking to the left, throwing to the left. Incomplete. And a little miscommunication there on the route.

Or law her was injured one or the other. He kind of was bent over after that whole thing. But I think he was either mad at himself. He was. Or something because he saw one thing and the quarterback saw another.

He stumbled coming out of the route, Larry. He had a chance to break that to the pylon. That's where. That's where the quarterback was throwing the ball and he kind of stumbled. I don't know if he got his feet caught up or what.

So he ended up going a little bit deeper on the route. He knew he had to break that off towards the pylon which is where the ball was thrown and it went incomplete because he couldn't get there. So second and goal now from the six yard line. Stinson again split to the right. Three men wide left ball near the center of the field.

Out of the gun. Cawthon hands it to Tank. Best hit in the backfield. Thrown for a loss. Spencer Derry I think broke through there and brought him down.

Back at the nine yard line. That's a loss of three tackle for loss on that one. Nice job by Derry. He's been a beast in the backfield. And again they shot the gap between the guard and the center there and they're just overwhelming this Cheney offensive line.

They're doing a nice job on on their run attacks in terms of their fits and they're bringing a lot of pressure. So now third and goal from the nine yard line for Cheney. Lawler split to the left side, ball on the left hash mark and three men are wide to the right here. Cough and out of the gun. Down to five on the play.

Clock takes a high snap, fades back, throws left side and that is either knocked away incomplete or it's dropped. Bonnet either tapped that one away from Laher. Allah had a chance and dropped it and it'll be fourth down. I think that's the same play we saw earlier except it was reversed. I think the defender just kind of took a swat at that thing and it distracted Laher.

I couldn't really see the finish of the play because the defender was in the way. So couldn't tell if the ball was on the ground, if it was dropped or if it was knocked down. But he did a nice job of getting in the way of that thing and making a play. Sets up a field goal attempt here for Max Riggs. The quarterback is the holder and time is called here by Cheney.

Well, we saw a two point play already on the last touchdown by Mount Spokane and they did a nice job of just direct snapping it back there.

And he ran to the right side. It was well blocked. Got two points out of it. It looks like they're going for it. They're gonna go for it.

I think that's. I think that's smart. Throw it into the end zone. Give your playmakers a chance. So fourth and goal from the nine and Cheney will go for it here in the second quarter of play.

Three receivers to the left, ball in the left hash. One man, wide right snap back. Here comes a rush and a quick throw. And that is a back shoulder throw and a catch for a touchdown. Laher.

A back shoulder throw. There was pressure coming and Coffin did a nice job to read that and throw it out quickly. The back shoulder throw to Law her. A nine yard passing touchdown and the Blackhawks are on the board. How about that?

Nice job, Coffin. Coffin corner on that one. Did an excellent job of throwing that. They wanted to go earlier and that's where Lahera was so grumpy because he broke it to the pylon. That was just a beautiful throw.

The defensive back was right there to make a play, but he threw it to the back shoulder. That mean the receiver stops. The DB kind of runs by him. He's able to pull that football in, put a foot down. Touchdown, Cheney.

That's penalty and they're going to get a penalty there. Tristan Olson was the intended receiver and it was a little bit under thrown and Lahar ended up running into the receiver because he had stopped trying to get the ball. And that's, that's the advantage of the receiver looking back for the football. There DB is trying to chase and get to his hip and so he slows down. You run right up his back or his front depending on what happens there.

He just hung up too high. Receiver had no chance on that thing, deflected that. And that's always a nightmare when that ball is tipped up in the air because defensive backs usually have a chance to pick that thing off. Haberman unofficially. Four out of eight, 89 yards so far in this game.

But I think Mount Spokane gets it at the 25. Now let's see if he was down at the 28. The official on the far side still at the 28 yard line. Let's see whether they, where they end up spotting this ball. I think that was.

I think that was Richmond again that got his hands in there and ripped that out. He's. He has an interception. Tank Best has a fumble recovery. Law her has a fumble recovery.

They're doing an excellent job right now of causing turnovers by stripping at it, going up and picking the ball off. They're doing a great job using their hands and Mount Spokane's got to do a better job of taking care of the football. Gain of 4 on the play they say he did. Fumble recovered by Mount Spokane. Olson cuts to the outside, breaks tackle inside the 25 to the 20, down to the 15 and spins inside the 10 and has finally run out of bounds down at about the eight yard line, maybe the seven. Yeah, nice job by Jorm and he just, he just came in there kind of unscathed. They just took an inside a blitz there. He came from the outside and kind of went between the guard and the tackle.

DN did all the hard work. He took two guys on, then slid off his double team there to make the play. And the poor Tank didn't have much of a chance on that. He got hit pretty good. They've clamped down in the running game.

Best had 12 yards in his first three carries of the game. He has two on his last, six on second down and long. They throw off a little Screen best over the 35, gets out across the 40 and is spilled as he gets to the 41. That's going to be a gain of seven yards and brings up a third and four situation. That's how you slow down a blitz.

You throw screens, you throw quick passes to the outside. If they're coming up the middle, they're trying to overwhelm you. Then you attack the middle part of the field, let your tight end, your inside receiver, just run a little release route about 4 or 5 yards deep. All those guys are moving up field. He'll be, they'll be wide open to have some room to run.

Kaufman 11 of 18, unofficially 110 yards so far in this ball game. Third down and four, Cheney at their own 41. Ball on the left hash trips right. One man split to the left. High snap, quick throw left side in behind his intended receiver out there.

Collins incomplete. But Kaufman saw the pressure coming, knew he didn't have time and really couldn't really sat and throw that ball out there. He did. He basically got rid of that thing because he knew he's going to get drilled. And that's, yeah, it takes a lot of courage to be, you know, to play quarterback because you know you're going to get hit, you know, and so you just got to stand in there as long as you can, know you're going to get popped.

Hope that your receiver makes the adjustment on the blitz coverage and turns around. 4th down and 4 at their own 41, they'll punt it away. Jason Carrier do that. Carter Ettner the snapper and here's the boot. Good kick downfield.

Gardner didn't catch the ball and it popped into Hubbard's chest and he couldn't react fast enough. I think he was trying to make the tackle and all of a sull that football staring at right in the grill and he just couldn't get his hands up in time. But good reaction on that.

They were running a little bubble screen to the outside, but a nice job by the safety to come up, kind of blow that up. And then of course you saw, you know, Hubbard come over there and he's only 5 8, 165 pounds, a little junior, but he had good reaction on that to get in the way and knock that thing down. So second down and 10. Empty backfield again. Five wide.

Haberman takes the snap back, throws short on the right side and that ball is deflected at the line. Incomplete. I think it was Gage Subert, a 6 4, 215 pounder, but it was rushing that knocked that down. Couldn't really tell. I was watching kind of the screen.

They're trying to go back to that same play that, that Hubbard had had broken up earlier. And they actually had it going there. But a nice job, whoever it was. Got the big paw up there and was able to kind of deflect that thing and knock it down towards the ground. And I thought Bryce Delaing, number 32 was also around the pile as well.

So they had some guys in the way of the quarterback there. Nice job. So third and ten now, Mount Spokane at their own 30 yard line, same formation, five wide receivers. Here comes the blitz thereafter. Haberman throws behind Gardner and almost intercepted as the closest guy to it was Andrew Handen Ogbo and it's a little short of him, so it'll be fourth down, three straight incomplete passes.

Oh, Richmond's had an interception. Tank Best, a fumble recovery. Hubbard a pass broken up. Hobo, a pass broken up. Lahar, a fumble recovery.

I mean, there's a lot of stuff going on on this defense. They're making plays out there. Doing a good job. Mouse Spokane is going to have to clean this thing up here in the second half. Pretty sloppy for the Wildcats in the first half.

Talon Main will punt this one away. I think it's Laura standing down at about his 35 yard line. There's a low snap, it's grabbed by Main and he boots a nice high kick away. And this is going to not be caught. It hits inside the 35, bounces inside the 30 and will roll down to about the 26 yard line.

Mount Spokane looking to avoid their first loss of the season as the Wildcats, number three in the rpi. And that's something very important to try to hang onto here. That would mean they would play through the quarterfinals at home, if that holds. You want home field advantage. And this is an advantage getting teams that, you know, travel from across the state to come here and play.

So. But you got to take care of business first, and that means knocking off a game. Cheney Blackhawk team right now. So first and 10 for the Blackhawks at their own 26. Three wide receivers, two to the right, one to the left.

Snap back on the shotgun handoff. Best trying to stretch it to the outside. And it's just tripped up as he gets of the line of scrimmage. It looks like Ayers there, the linebacker, just got him by the heel and he's going to lose a yard. Back to the 25.

Nice job by Brayton Ayres there that time. He shot the gap and he just was able to get kind of right to the right side there and then just kind of swept the legs there. It was like a, you know, the Karate Kid move there. Was able to kind of knock him down and, you know, Best was just getting around the corner. Looks like he was going to start to pick up the speed and obviously he's on the the ground.

He was bumped. So second and 11 now for the Blackhawks. Ball on the left. Hash at their own 25. Two receivers go to the right.

One man split to the left out of the gun. Coffin takes, wants to throw quickly to the right side. Now comes back on a slant. That ball is deflected three times, intercepted. Bodie Gardner running to the left side, stiff arms.

A man trying to run out of his jersey. Now reverses back to the right. He's to the 20, to the 15. Splits his little hole to the 10, to the 5. It's a touchdown for Bodie Gardner.

An interception return for a touchdown. It bounced off a Mt. Spokane player, off a Cheney player's hands and into the hand of Gardiner. He was the third player to touch that pass, but he gets the interception and winds the return for the score. And Mt.

Spokane takes a 28. 6 lead here with 309 remaining. First half, boy, that was a lot of action on that play for sure. I mean, it looked like a volleyball match for a second, but Gardiner actually one handed that thing. But his return was impressive, Larry.

It looked like it basically had Stinson over there, had him on the ground. It looked like he was trying to pull him down. He steps out of that tackle, spins back to the right and houses it. Talon Main is not in there for the point right now. It is Andrew Thomas.

And here's the kick. It is up and it is good. So Andrew Thomas boots the PAT. And so now with 309 remaining first half, it's a 29, 6 game for Bodegardiner. That's his second interception of the year.

And he has returned both of them for touchdowns this season. So he scored touchdowns in a fumble recovery, a now interceptions, rushing the ball, receiving the ball and returning a punt. He's done everything but return a kickoff for a touchdown this year. Well, he said nine receiving touchdowns, so he had. You're saying he's one of those.

Was a fumble recovery that they gave him a receiving touchdown, but it was on a pass. Borcher's fumble, the ball. Gardner recovered it in the end zone. Very cool. Okay, well, that was kind of the explosive play that we expected from Mount Spokane.

And just a little bit of an overthrow by Cheney on that one. But what a beautiful return by Bodegardiner. And that, that guy's good. He's got some speed, he's got hands, he's elusive, he's tough. He's, you know, he's a good football player.

If you're a defensive player, you're happy right now because you're doing a lot of stuff, you're making plays. But as an offensive group, you've got to hang on to the Ball and quit turning it over, quit making penalties. Two receivers split to the left, one to the right. Ball in the center of the field after out of the gun. They throw that quickly caught by Collins, goes to the outside and turns up field and struggles out of bounds at about the 27 yard line, it looks like, for a gain of seven yards.

So that's his fourth catch, you know, on the day. Got 44 yards on those four catches. He's kind of been the go to guy. He's doing a nice job out there making plays. So second and three now that stopped the clock, that play on the sidelines.

So it'll be second and three now for the Blackhawks at their own 27. From the left hash they have Collins and Stinson split to the right side. Lara the lone man out wide to the left. Shotgun snap back and a quick throw. And that is a nice catch by the tight end that time.

And he hauls it in right at the line to gain the 30 yard line for a pickup of three and a Damon Orthodontics first down. And that's what they needed. He knew right where the line to gain was. He actually caught that ball in the 31, but his momentum kind of brought him back there. But they're going to move the sticks there and good conversion.

You got 242 to go here in the second half or in the second quarter. 29Six, Mount Spokane. That was a throw down around his ankles. But with the catch, a gain of three on the play. And it'll be first down and ten.

Clock is running. Coffin out of the gun, takes a high snap, fires behind both of his intended receivers. Collins the inside receiver and Stinson the outside receiver, both running similar routes and is behind. Both of them. Incomplete.

Yeah, I don't know what they're. If maybe somebody's supposed to settle down. I thought he was throwing that to the inside receiver, not Stinson. Stinson happened to get his hands on it, but there might have been. That almost looked like the inside receiver supposed to run an out.

Outside receiver was running a post or slant and had a little combo route there. So you might have a little confusion on the route running. So second and 10 now for the Blackhawks at their own 33. Receiver split right, best out of motion in the left to the left side. Here's a little screen caught by Stinson.

He'll weave inside, cross the 35 and stop short of a first down at the 38 yard line that he gains eight yards. Third catch for him. 28 yards on the day. Nice job of avoiding a tackle. And then he saw the 290 pound nose guard coming at him and he got down pretty quick.

That was smart. So third and two now for the Blackhawks at their own 38. From the center of the field, they'll throw quickly. Right side. And that is incomplete.

Stinson heard footsteps coming. Talon Main and brought his arms down just a little bit there to try to protect his ribs and the ball off his hands. Incomplete. Yeah, that was good break by Main on the football that time. He saw the little hitch route and he got up there and he timed that hit perfectly.

That was an excellent job. That stops the clock with 156 to go here. And that fourth down they're going to go for. They better convert this thing because this will give Masvocane great field position if they stop him. So fourth and two for Cheney.

Their touchdown came on a fourth down play. So they have converted a fourth down already. At least one here in this game. They have four wide receivers, two to either side, out of the gun. Kaufman looks to the right, pressured, runs up into the middle of the field and dives forward for a first down.

He was tackled by Ayres as well as the nose guard Jacob Palmer, but he was able to scramble and get four yards in the first down. Third tackle by Ayres. Nice job on that play. Everybody covered. They ran a double move.

They ran a kind of a hitch and go. And they were trying to go to the outside. Both receivers ran the same route, but Mount Volcan did a nice job in coverage. He just picked the ball up and ran down to 137 left in the halfback to throw Kaufman into the middle of the field. Ball incomplete through the hands of his intended receiver, Stinson.

And So it'll be second down and 10, but the clock stops with a minute 33 now remaining in the half. Nice job that time by the inside backer, Ben Jormund, number eight. He came over there and he got in the middle of the route. Stinson had to try to kind of serpentine his way around him. Jormun, you know, basically was able to kind of redirect that route by the angle he took there.

That was a nice read by him, getting to the spot he needed in coverage. Cheney has been in possession of the ball for the vast majority of this game so far, but they trail by the score of 29 to 6. They have many more offensive plays then does Mount Spokane. Second down and 10. High snap coffin to Throw into the middle of the field.

Picked off by Gardner again at the 48. Inside the 40. Down the right side. 35, 30 down the sidelines. Got a block.

20, 15, 10, 5. He did it again. Bodie Gardner, his second interception return for a touchdown. His third total touchdown of this game. And Mount Spokane takes a 35.

6 lead with a minute 23 remaining to play here in the first half. Wow, that was amazing. Great. And just a great read on the ball. They were running a post.

They've been hurting Mount Spokane with that post route. He just undercut the Route 2 hand of the football and then showed that speed down the sidelines. What a great play. And a great read by Bodie Gardiner. He's.

They got some pressure through there, but he's able to kick it through. And so now it is a 366 game with a minute 23 remaining to play here in the first half. What did you have in the first one? I have no idea. I had it at about 35 on that first interception where he probably ran 70 to get to the end zone. But he's awfully explosive when he gets in the open first play of the game. He goes 60 yards for a touchdown.

Now he's got two picks on defense and they're both housed. Wow. So Maine will kick off here. He's getting a rest from pat duties as he's playing on offense and defense, but he will kick off here and back deep to receive. Collins, who has a couple of kickoff returns for touchdowns this year along with Laher, and so far they haven't been able to get much going there on the returns.

Here's the boot. Good deep end over end kickoff by Maine. That's going to go into the end zone. That'll be a touchback. And Cheney will take over at their 20 yard line again.

Here's a quick throw to the outside. And that was nearly intercepted as the receiver and the quarterback had a miscommunication. And who was that that almost had themselves in interception? Was it Bonnet? I can't tell.

Yep, it was Bonnet. He had a chance and dropped it. And he's still holding his hands to his head. He's grumpy. So third down and 22.

Now, I was surprised Cheney was running a play there. They could have run out the half basically if they had run the ball twice. But now they're gonna have to punt it away if they can't make a first down here. Third down and 22 and they hand it off. Tank Best big opening over the 20, out across the 25.

Still on his feet. Struggles out near the 25 yard line. Great run. Gets it out to the 27. That's a gain of 19.

He's three yards short of the first down. And Cheney's gonna go for it here on fourth at their own 27. Another high snap, but it comes back to Best. He runs off the left side. He's got a first down over the 30, out to the 34 yard line.

Great play by Tank Best that time as the ball went over the head of the quarterback. But he Caught it behind him. They kind of had a pistol set up there. And Best just runs it off the left side. Gain seven.

It's a Damon Orthodontics first down. And Cheney uses their last timeout with 18 and 8, 10 seconds remaining here in the half. That's a huge save, Larry. As you as you mentioned, just a great job by Best to see it. That ball was deflected right and then he knew it was probably going to be, you know, just a draw or a zone read.

He saw there was an opening up the middle two plays in a row. He had some nice space right up the middle between the center and the guard. And that time he carried a couple of guys with him. Showed some good speed there. Don't forget Best Western Pepper Tree Hotels located at the Spokane Airport, omac, Washington, napa, Idaho and their new location in Bend, Oregon.

That was just a, just a back out of the backfield there. Trying to get down. He stopped the clock. 11. 8 seconds left.

You know, second down and about nine. So he didn't gain a lot on that, on that route. Nice job by Bonnet coming up from his corner position. They were playing basically zone over there. They've got three defensive backs about 15, 18 yards deep.

They're not going to let him get over the top. Officially no gain. 2nd and 10 at their own 34. Another high snap grab by the quarterback. Throws over the middle, has a catch.

This is Collins. Has a first down over the 45 and a stopped at the 47 with 5. 4 seconds remaining. That only stop the clock will only stop until they get the chain set. Now they wind it and I don't think Cheney's gonna get another playoff here.

They haven't even put the ball on the ground. Yep, that's it. And they do get a snap back or did they flags down and that's gonna end the half, I think. And that was I think the fault of the referee. Yep.

Because the umpire had not placed the ball ready for play yet. So Cheney had to wait until the umpire put the ball down before they could snap the ball. I think that they've got to wait for the umpire to spot that ball. It's an illegal procedure penalty on Cheney and it is declined. And that ends the first half of play here.

Dave Nichols from the Spokesman Review is here. Well, it was a pretty good first half for Bodie Gardner. Three touchdowns, two interception returns and one one one pass reception. Yeah, eventually, right? I mean, throw in the fumbled punt and a drop touchdown pass and he had a pretty, pretty adventurous first half, you know.

You know, every time he touches the ball, he's a threat to go. And we saw it there, you know, the 60 yard touchdown pass on the first play from scrimmage and then the two interceptions. Just athletic achievement there. You know, the first one was the tip ball and got spun around and he went up the middle and that second one, you know, they just didn't even touch him. So a guy with Spurner speed like that is just impressive to play when he gets the ball in his hands.

Alright, so this field is going to see two very important games over the next two weeks as Mount Spokane will post Gonzaga Prep next Friday night in a battle of what likely will be the unbeatens in the gsl. Yeah, the de facto league championship game that night, as long as Gonzaga Prep holds serve tomorrow night against Central Valley. But yeah, that ought to be a terrific game. You know, contrasting styles, right? Mount Spokane, Haberman, Bodie, Gardner like to chuck and duck and Gonzaga Prep wants to roll you over.

So. Yes, that ought to be a really fun game. One thing, I mean, Mount Spokane has been careless with the football in this game. So they can't do that in the last two games of the year. No, and it's not that col.

I mean it's still the temperatures in the 40s. It's not like it's 30 degrees out here and raining, which it could very well be in two weeks. So. So yeah, you know, that's, that's. We were talking about that in the booth.

On the other side, a game like this, you wonder what, what, you know, what players are going to learn, especially from the winning team. Well, Terry Clower is going to have plenty to teach this week in practice. Right? Just hold on to the ball, you know, stop doing the silly mistakes. This was a game where easily Mount Spokane could have been playing their backups most of the second half.

But I'm sure, I'm sure coach Clower is going to want to see a little bit more offensive function here in the third quarter before he lets the backups play. As we get close to the postseason, you've always got to have an eyeball on the RPI and the wiaa. Mount Spokane, number three. That's big because they would play at home at least through the quarterfinals and maybe into the semifinals, depending on what happens to the two and the one seed if they hold the three spot and all the seedings hold West Valley in there, is the number three on the two A side and Schadl in at number nine.

Yeah. And would it, you know, wouldn't it be fun if the first, the first year of One Mount Spokane or One Spokane Stadium, we get to see a home playoff game there? Right. That, that'd be kind of cool. But yeah, you know, Mount Spoke.

West Valley was ranked this week. Shadow was just outside the top 10 rankings. You know, they've got another big game tomorrow night and they've got a showdown looming against Clarkston, too. So. Still, still some work to do for Shadow.

But. But yeah, I think both of the two A's will be in a good, good position come playoff time. The 4s and the 3a's are a little bit more interesting, obviously. Ridgeline with a big game with big win against Mead early has got the inside track for the second spot in the 3 8. All right, we are nearing playoff time for all sports.

There's a big volleyball game, as I understand it tonight, too. LC and Mead. Yeah, absolutely. You know, there's. For volleyball, the seeds are still wide open.

They've got another couple of weeks to play. Slow pitch softball starts. Districts next week. And soccer, we had a big soccer match with Gonzaga Prep losing. So the top of the soccer standings for girls soccer is tightening as well.

Recapping the first half, Mount Spokane in the first play of the game got a 60 yard passing touchdown from TJ Haberman to Bodhi Gardner. The PAT though was good and that made it a 7 to nothing ballgame. Mount Spokane ended up getting the ball back, a 20 yard rushing touchdown for Matteo Sacamono. This came after the teams exchanged Turnovers. Sacamono A 20 yard rushing touchdown.

Two point conversion was good and it was 15 to nothing at that point. Again the teams exchanged turnovers. Cheney ended up with the ball up there at the Mount Spokane 27 and on a fourth and goal situation early second quarter they got a touchdown pass from Sam Kaufman. Their quarterback Sam Coffin I should say their quarterback to law her and the pat was no good. It was a nine yard touchdown on fourth down.

It was a 15 to six game, but Mount Spokane answered. They drove down the field a Haberman eight yard pass to Borchers capped a 67 yard six play drive that took a minute and a half that made it 22 to 6. And then defensively two straight interceptions by Bodie Gardner, one unofficially 33 yards, the other unofficially 48 yards. Point after is good after both of them and it's 366 here at the intermission. Well that's something that both these coaches will have something to talk about.

Great job by Cheney forcing turnovers but then also given the ball back. Same with Mountsville can they've got to hang on the football. They want to make a deep run in the state playoff. Larry, they cannot have three turnovers in a half, let alone a game. So I know that's something that Terry Klor will coach these guys up on and they'll come out ripping and snorting in the first half or second half.

All right, welcome back. Time for a look at the stats presented by the spokesman review for Mount Spokane. They had 57 rushing yards, 137 passing yards for 194 yards unofficially in the first half of play for Mount Spokane. Mateo Sacamono Five carries for 57 yards and a touchdown. TJ Haberman Seven out of 14 passing, 137 yards, two touchdowns and one interception.

Bodegardner Three catches for 91 yards and a touchdown. Borcher's A catch for 8 yards and a touchdown for Mount Spokane. But they had three first half turnovers. Four first half turnovers for the Cheney Blackhawks. They ended up the first half of play with 30 rushing yards, 128 passing yards and 158 yards of total offense.

Tank Best 12 carries, 39 yards. Coffin the quarterback was sacked just one time but had five carries for a minus 13 yards. A good chunk of that was a 12 yard loss on a bad snap. Stinson on a fly sweep had a carry for five yards. Coffin passing 16 of 27, 128 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions.

Cordell Laher had four catches for 39 yards. Camden Collins had four for 45. Stinson three for 28. Best three for 13 to lead the Cheney receivers. Seven penalties on Cheney in the first half of play for 35, 45, 53 yards.

Two penalties on Mount Spokane in the first half of play unofficially and that's a look at your first half statistics. Too many turnovers, too many penalties. Opportunity wasted. They only got six points out of the whole thing, so that's going to be something that they can coach them up on. But you've got some athletes on Mount Spokane.

Bodie Gardner is very impressive, Larry, not only on offense but on defense and what he can do. He changes the game and the dynamic in terms of his play, his playmaking skills out there on the field. Cheney will get the ball to start half number two. We'll see what they can do with the football here as they had four first half turnovers here in this ball game. So they're going to look look to take better care of the football here as we start half number two. Make sure you don't throw it to Gardiner because he's going to house it. He has two interception returns for touchdowns along with a 60 yard touchdown and he's the man.

That guy can play. He's a pretty darn good football player and I'll tell you, I think the offense is going to rotate around him but just a great job on the turnover side defensively for Mt. Spokane. Mt. Spokane will kick it off.

They will be defending the east end zone, the end zone to our right and Cheney back deep to receive. They've got Cordell Laher and also back there is Camden Collins ready to return this second half. Opening kickoff for Mount Spokane's Talon Main and our second half kickoff is presented by Papa Murphy's Change the way you pizza. So here is the run forward, Cheney moving left to right in front of us or from west to east here. Here's the kickoff and it's going to come down To Collins at the 11 yard line.

A dangerous man crosses the 20, cuts to his right, gets hit. Good kick coverage by Mount Spokane. He has stopped at the 22, maybe the 23 yard line. And that's where Cheney will take over. First down and 10.

Good kick coverage there. Bo Tampian was down there. Jackson Tinney was down there. And they had one other player down there for Mount Spokane. Nice job.

They stayed in their lanes. They didn't get blocked. They were able to, you know, take the blocks down, but continued their lane integrity and really no place for Jeannie to return it to because everybody was sealed across the front. So Cheney at their own 22, first down and 10 as we start the third quarter of play here. Goffin, their quarterback, had a big first half with a good completion percentage.

We'll see what he can do here in half number two. He's operating out of the Piston. Actually it's Stinson in there at quarterback. And now flags are down. We're going to get a motion call here.

Stinson's the backup quarterback. He's been taking snaps on the jv, you know, pretty much most of the season. And so he's, he's had some quarterback experience and it's kind of the heir to take over for the senior coffin when he does retire or basically graduate. Sorry, not retire. It's a five yard penalty and it'll be on Mount Spokane for an offside.

So that will get Cheney five yards. And so it'll be first down and five here. So Stinson not in his receiver. And we have to tell you, we do not have a complete Cheney roster. They did not give us a complete roster.

So they've got a couple of guys in there at receiver, we don't know who they are, including the young man who almost got the ball there on the fly sweep. But Stinson keeps it himself, runs to the right side and has first down yardage up to the 34 yard line for a gain of seven. I think that's supposed to be a fly sweep it because the snap was high again, he wasn't able to get the handoff. So smart play by him. He just pulled the ball down, ran around the right side, got the first down, got down before the linebacker tried to take his head off.

So first in and 10 after that 7 yard rushing gain up to the 34 yard line. So a pair of sophomores now in the backfield. Stinson the quarterback, best the running back. They've got one receiver split to the right and three Men to the left. And Stinson takes a high snap, hands it to best.

Runs off left tackle, hit at the line of scrimmage, struggles forward, might get a yard. We'll see where they give him. Looks like it'll be to the 35, which would be a one yard gain. It'll be second down and nine. Spencer Dairy and others in there for Mount Spokane.

They're not going to be able to outrun Mount Spokane. I think the quick hitters up the middle, quick passes to the outside, get rid of the football quickly. Give your quarterback a chance. Just plant that back foot. Give Bess an opportunity to hit a hole quickly because the team speed for Mouse Pocan is a little bit better than Cheney's.

Looked like they were going to spot at the 40, but the officials spotted back at the 39. So no gain on the play. And so it'll be second down and 10. Stinson the quarterback with five on the play. Clock out of the shotgun, empty backfield, Lauder in motion.

They hand it to him on a fly sweep. Gets around Derry trying to run to the right corner. And he is undercut and knocked down right at about the line of scrimmage. Nice defensive play there by Devon Khalil from his cornerback spot. Now it looks like the officials will give him the 35 this time for a 1 yard gain.

Yeah, Khalil, great job coming up there and just tried to make a play and he undercut the the fly sweep, young man, and kind of knocked him down there. But a nice job on the read and good integrity. Stayed outside, kept his leverage. Good tackling position on that play. So third and nine now for Cheney at their own 35.

Clock running, 10 minutes remaining. Third quarter, Mount Spokane with a 36 to six lead. Trips to the left ball on the right hash. One man wide to the right. Stinson will hand it off best through traffic in the backfield, runs into his own guard, and he will plow the pile forward almost to the 40 yard line for a gain of five.

It'll bring up fourth down here. Think he ran into Avery the center there, who was standing in the hole. And the one thing they teach in the offensive line, if you don't see somebody in front of you, go find somebody. Go block the linebacker. Heck, go block the safety.

But don't stand there. And poor Best ran, got through the blue guys, but then ran into his own player. So on comes the punter, Dason Carrier again. And Bode Gardner is the up man now and they have a man behind him. That is Tristan Olson to return this punt.

Low snap grabbed. And here's the kick. And Gardner will grab this at the 32. He did not call for a fair catch and he's going to be taken down behind that Great coverage. Camden Collins down there to haul him down.

That's a loss of four yards on that return. Back to the 28 yard line and that's where Mount Spokane will have it. First down and 10. Excellent coverage on special teams that time. But a good high pump too by Cheney, allowing the coverage team to get down there.

And so Gardner tried to make something out of nothing and went the wrong way. Good play. Nice job by Cheney. Now let's see if the defense can get a stop. Remember, offense has given up two touchdowns on interception returns.

So the defense wasn't even on the field when that took place. First down and 10. Empty backfield, five wide receivers for T. J. haberman, the quarterback, seven out of 14 for 137 yards in the first half.

Takes a low snap, throws it out quickly caught by Gardner, makes one man, Mrs. And will now be tackled as they get short of the 35 yard line as Jason McDonald kind of hogtied him first and then some other guys came in and helped out. Gain up to the 34 it looks like for six yards. McDonald, the senior six foot hundred ninety pounder. Nice job by him to make that read.

And showed good strength on Gardner. He's going to be a tired puppy at the end of this game. Second down and four again, an empty backfield snap back to Haberman. Looks to the right side, throws short to the right side, has a catch this time. Curling into the middle of the field and getting a first down.

Flags come in. It's Borchers getting up to about the 40 yard line. That'd be a mask 6 yard pickup. We'll see what the call is here. Looks like it's gonna be a hold on Mount Spokane.

And that would be marked off from the spot of the foul, which looks like it's about the 37 yard line. So it'd be a penalty. Back to the 27. So it costs him a first down, but from the line of scrimmage, basically about a seven yard penalty. Yeah, you're right, it was a hole.

And that's only a third penalty for Mount Spokane. We talked about the penalty. Fourth penalty. Sorry about, you know, for Mount Spokane. So this has been a sloppy game for them, Larry.

You know, they've got, they've got a good rating in terms of the AP thing at 5. Their RPI at 3. But they're going to have to play much better than this if they want to advance. Heck, you know, in terms of the next couple weeks, they've got some tough games coming up. They're gonna have to play better.

Yeah. Gonzaga prep here next Friday. And in two weeks, Mead for the Battle of the Bell. 827 remaining to play here in the third quarter. Second and 11 now for Mount Spokane at their own 27 from the right hash, empty backfield, five wide receivers.

They throw that quickly to Sacamono. One man blocking two guys out there and Sacamono plows through one guy and ends up getting knocked out of bounds. Sidelines acting as a 12th defender over there. He gets the yardage back. They lost on the penalty.

Up to the 34, it'll be third and four. That's what Cheney should do. Spread this defense out, then throw the ball outside to your playmakers. Let him get some one on ones out there. Exactly like Mount Spokane just did.

Nice job by Sakamano to move that pile. Seven yard pickup on the play. Third and four now they're on 34 from the right hash again. Empty backfield. Five wide, looking to the left, throwing to the left.

Haberman has a catch and blown up immediately. Did Olson get the first down? And it looks like he does. Out near the across the 38. Close to the 39.

Good. Close by Cheney. The defensive backs really rallied that time. Got there the same time the ball did, but he knew where the spot was and he just looks like they're gonna. That might be.

Nope, that's enough. Is it? Yep, They've spotted it close to the 39. It looks like they need to the 38. We have an injured player down and so it is a Damon Orthodontics first down here and we have an injured player flat on his back.

I'm not sure who it is at the 45 yard line with 737 to play here in the third quarter. Might be tank best. Oh boy. Well, with the chaos of the last few years, we've lost a large number of officials in all sports. Without officials, our kids cannot play games.

Well, he's played. He's played a lot of minutes both sides of the ball going both ways out there. The young man's tough. It's only a sophomore. He's gonna get bigger and stronger and he's gonna be a pretty darn player.

Good player, Larry, by the time he's a senior. So first and 10, Mount Spokane at their own 39 from the left. Ash, you get empty backfield with five wide pump fake to the left side. Deep throw, left side. Looking for Gardner.

He got it inside the 35, spins away from two men and gets away from another. Still on his feet. Gives ground back to the 30. Still bouncing around among tacklers. Still on his feet inside the 25, down to the 24.

Wow. Look like Leonias and the 300 taking on Xertes. You know, back in the day, he was battling everybody. I mean, there was about 11 guys that had a shot at him and he is just a handful. He's strong, he's quick.

Double move there, a little curl and go action. Corner bit on the curl part. He ran right by him. Great throw by the quarterback. 37 yards down to the 24 yard line.

By the time it's all said and done with, here's a quick screen out caught by Olson. Gets away from one man inside the 25, gets by another, gets inside the 20 and is punched out of bounds. He gets to the 15 yard line. Taken out over there by a player we don't have, one of the guys we don't have on the roster. And so that's going to be a gain of about 9 yards.

How far was that Gardner run pass? Running past about 35 yards. That's 37. So you missed out on that. I'm sorry, I was trying to figure that out.

The wax blocked my ears. There you go. Handoff. Saccomano hit right at the line of scrimmage. Good job done by Cheney there.

Gage Subert was there among others. And that will be it. Looks like they may give him first down yardage to the 14. So he got the yard they needed. Or did he?

Yes, he did. He did. He got the yard they needed for the first down. So one yard for Sacco mono there. It'll be first and 10, Mount Spokane if they're 14 acheney here.

Five wide receivers, three to the left, ball on the right hash. Here comes the blitz. Man untouched. Here's a throw. Left side corner of the end zone.

Leaping grab. Gardner touchdown. Mount Spokane is fourth of the game, his second receiving. He has two interception returns for scores as well. Bodie Gardner a 14 yard passing touchdown and with 636 remaining, third quarter, it's Mount Spokane 42, Cheney 6.

Just a little go route to the outside corner. Was playing man, so he was on the inside. That ball was really well thrown, you know, by by Hoberman there and he put that out to the outside exactly where Gardner needed needed to be. So the 14 yard passing touchdown on that drive. TJ Haverman six out of six passing for 78 yards and the touchdown to Gardner.

And they are feeding him big time. He's getting an eight course meal tonight and having himself a whale of a football game. So from the 20 yard line now, Cheney with it first down and 10 and still a lot of starters out there on defense for Mt. Spokane. Have Derry still in along with Josh Smith at defensive end.

Plus the nose tackle Jacob Palmer. Stinson takes the snap wide, hands it off, picking his way into the middle as I think Tank best is back. And again he cannot get to the line of scrimmage as Mount Spokane just overpowering this Cheney front. And They've got that 5 foot 9, 290 pound nose tackle in Palmer who is square in the middle and he's hard to move out of there. A loss of a yard and somebody's hurt for Mount Spokane.

Yeah, he's cramping or for a Cheney, it's. Yeah, it's a cramp for a layer, I think. Yep. And it was interesting because Gardner came over and when he sat down he pushed his leg up. Was actually helping him try to try to ease that cramp.

So you know what a good sportsman. He's coming out and he might say, you know what, dude, you've had yourself a heck of a night. Crossing the middle was the tight end ittner, a junior 182 pounder. Just a little cross at about the 25. I don't think he'd have been able to get first down yardage, but he couldn't make the catch. And it'll be fourth down. Stout young man doing a nice job of making plays.

And that gets the clock going then in terms of the time. So it'll be interesting to see they're going to start subbing, I would think here.

But you're usually pretty good at getting the name so I listened to you and that was just a curl and go route in press man. But the receiver gave up on that, on that route and so the corner had a great chance of making a pick. Second down and 10.

They handed off Sakamano run into the right side, grabbed by the jersey and thrown down as he gets to about the 29 yard line. Good job there by the Cheney defense. Alex Hubbard, 5 8, 210 pound senior linebacker there on the stop. He had a nice, he's had a nice game he's been in about a half a dozen tackles. He also has a pass breakup.

Richmond, the other inside backer as an interception tank, best as a fumble recovery and a half a dozen tackles. So this linebacking core has been been pretty darn active in this game tonight. So second and nine after that one yard rushing gain for Sakamono. Third down and nine at the 29. Here comes the blitz.

By errors because he basically picked up the backside defensive end that defeated the tackle and was able to buy some time, you know, for the quarterback who then kind of sprinted to the left side and knew exactly where the marker was. That's. You usually don't see that in a backup quarterback. He did a nice job of finding that, you know, where that first down wasn't getting there.

First rushing attempt for anybody other than Sacamono for Mount Spokane in this game. First and 10 at the Cheney 34. Snap back. Tweety out of the gun, swings it out. There's a catch made by Luke Merkelbach and he gets down, down to about the 32 yard line for a gain of a couple of yards.

In that play, it'll bring up second and long. Quick, safe, easy little plays. Little back flaring out of the backfield. He hits him in stride, you know, rushing, picking up 6, 7 yards when the play breaks down. Good, solid.

This is great growth for a backup quarterback to have this experience. You're down to a minute to go here in the game, you know, while. Yep. In the third quarter. I'm sorry.

42, 6, Mount Spokane. Trips to the left ball on the right hash Mark Olson split to the left side. Tweety out of the gun, looks to the right, throws, has a catch. That is Alex Clower right on the sidelines near first down yardage. And they'll spot him short at the 25 for a gain of seven.

It'll be third and one. That is the nine player to catch a pass for Mount Spokane in this game. Well, this helps you, too. You got two big games coming up. You get some backups in getting quality time.

Cheney still playing a lot of their starters. A couple of those guys are going both ways. They're tired. This is a good football team and these backups want to show they can play, too. They're not going to.

They're not going to stop playing hard. They're going to continue. Two receivers to either side here on third and one motion coming. So they have a new fullback into the game now as Jackson Tinney is checked in and he'll be the pass protection for Tweedy. Here comes the blitz from Cheney. Gets away, does Tweedy, fires it downfield and it's incomplete. And so that'll be a 4 down turnover. And one of the Cheney players is injured.

Oh no. It's the man who is putting the pressure on. And I think it is. Is that Hubbard? No, it's the mystery number 32 that's been playing that we don't have on the roster.

So we don't have the full roster on one side. That cuts off at number 23 and then it picks up at number 33 and cuts off at number 67. So that makes it tough. That's called problem. That's problematic, people.

Yeah, it's problematic for the radio guys. I don't know it's problematic for anybody else. You may know who the 32 is, but we don't. So that makes it kind of hard. So we, we just give out a number.

And that's kind of lame. Yes, it is. But that's the way it goes. Cheney with the ball now at their own 26 yard line on first down. And this will be the quarterback keeping the ball.

It's Coffin still in there. Just a designed run. And Coffin takes it off the left side off left tackle and gains three yards on the play. Up to the 29. Just trying to get some positive stuff going here.

Trying to continue the drive. They're trying to get better. Remember, the only touchdown they have was that back throw, quarter throw, you know, back shoulder throw on fourth down. So they're trying to continue to, you know, to get better. And they're going up against some backups and this might be a good opportunity for Cheney to put together a long drive.

Second down and seven at their own 29. Clock running 11:15 remaining to play here in the fourth quarter. Coffin takes a high snap, hands it off to the running back Schwendemann. He gets into the middle and gets hit by another one of these big guys. That's Ben Mizoguchi.

511, 330 pounds. He is a junior nose tackle. And they're able to get a couple of yards out of it from Schwindemann. And so it'll be third down and about five. Hey, just kept pushing the pile.

The offensive line kind of got behind him and was shoving, you know, the running back down the field as well. That was a good. That looked like a rugby, rugby scrum there. Nice job by both teams. Well, two Schwendemann's doesn't make Mizuguchi.

Mizuguchi 511, 330. Schwendemann 5, 91 5. So third down and five. So good job by Schwindemann for good hard running. Here's the throw to the outside and a catch made but short of the first down.

That is the tight end, Ittner. He will get forward progress, but he'll be short of the line to gain, which was the 36 yard line. And they're gonna put him at the 32 it looks like. So four yards short of a first down. It'll be fourth down.

I think they're gonna, I think. No, they're gonna punt on this one. So punt teams coming in here. I thought, I thought head coach Bobby Bird was gonna go for it here, but they're gonna get their punt coverage team on there and see what they can do. That is a big dude, man.

Two deep men. Bodie Gardner is the deepest of the two standing inside the 35. Low snap ball kicked out of there by the punter. And Gardner is going to get a chance. No, he doesn't elect recovery or field this punt.

And it's going to bounce inside the 25 and be killed just inside the 25 yard line. And that's where Mount Spokane will take over. There's some beef on this Mount Spokane team. On first down, Tweedy throws, has a catch over the 35 out across the 40 and very quick running that time by Mason Shaw.

He gets a Damon orthodontics. First down and the quick Little slant strike. 16 yards to the 41. Ball was right there. He turned around, was able to catch it.

The linebacker couldn't get over in time corner and then he just kind of ran away from the corner. So that was a very nice quick hitting play in first down they went away from their run, set up play action pass and caught Cheney napping a little bit on that slant. Shaw the 10th player to catch a pass in this game from Mount Spokane. First down and 10. Wildcats at their own 41 empty backfield.

Here comes the blitz. Tweedy wants to throw a little screen that's up in the air off the receiver. And it's intercepted as the ball went off the receiver's shoulder pad. And it's picked off for Cheney by Dason Carrier, the guy that's been punting. Wow.

And interception. Good for him. That's the fourth Mt. Spokane turnover and a ball that should have been caught up and it just bounced off the receiver and straight up into the air. Well, they also sent a blitz from the outside, the outside backer blitz on to put pressure on the quarterback there.

So he got rid of the ball quickly and. And I don't think the receiver got his head around on that. And it doinked off the shoulder pad. And Mr. Punterman did a really nice job of coming in there.

Mr. Carrier with a pick. So Dyson Carrier, the interception. The second interception of the game by Cheney and it's first down and 10 at the Mount Spokane 47. They hand it off to Schwendemann and he will wind his way across the 45 down close to the 42 yard line for a pickup of 5 yards on first down.

Good first down play that time by Cheney. They actually gave him an extra yard. They moved it up to the 42 and you know, just a good job there. So they're kind of creating some holes. Running back still running hard, getting positive yards.

Be nice to see them put together a Drive and punch this thing in. 905 to go here in the fourth quarter after that five yard run. Second down and five at the Mount Spokane 42. They hand it to Schwendem and again this time off the right side, gets hit, struggles forward. Gave a little couple or three yard piggyback ride to Maverick Norman and Schwindemann stopped a yard short of the first down.

So a four yard gain down to the 38. Looked like he was cattle wrestling that time. Just kind of jumped on his back and gave a couple of giddy ups. Yippee ias and finally got him to the ground. Third and one under center now is the quarterback.

Coffin lost the ball on the snap. He never got the ball. Wasn't it just the ball bounced off his hands. He never had it. And who's got it?

Mount Spokane. Wow. The fifth Cheney turnover in the ball game and Mount Spokane comes up with it. And they're all pound in the head of Mason Shaw, who I'm assuming is the guy that recovered it. Laurie has something really cool and fired his team up and they came over congratulated.

But I think Shaw was the guy that recovered that thing. And what happened is he tried to get up there and quick snap it and sometimes that's the hardest thing to do at quarterback. You got to get your hands down there on the center. He didn't secure that football and then it launched forward away from him. That was a messed up play from the get go.

So now mount Spokane with the ball again. First down and 10 at their own 37. Eight and a half minutes to play here in the fourth quarter. Empty backfield, Tweedy with five wide, steps back, throws to the left side. Juggling catch that was made.

And good hand eye coordination there and concentration by the receiver. That was Luke Merkelbach. Only a four yard gain, but he caught the ball. Yeah, he got blasted by the linebacker too as soon as he caught it. So nice job.

Quick little pass, you know, secured the football. Good. Good reaction by Cheney coming up there knocking him down. That was a pretty darn good catch because he was getting blasted the same time the ball got there. So second and six now for the Wildcats.

Clock counting down. Inside of eight minutes remaining to play here in the fourth quarter. Three receivers go to the right side. Motion coming through to the left, they hand it off, fly sweep. This is Merkelbach trying to get to the right corner.

Does gets across the 45, a flag flies into the fray. They stop him at the 46, but I'm guessing we're going to get a hold here and they're going to walk this backward. Yeah, it's been a hanky fest here, especially on Mount Spokane. But you got some backups in there trying to. Trying to create some things and probably a shirt tug and the side judge over here saw that.

Sure enough, that's a hold again. White Hat's been busy tonight and they're earning their cash. Ron Schaefer, our referee, he is. He's getting lots of arm movements in today. Ron Shaffer's a good official.

He's been around an awfully long time and you know these guys work hard. I like these dudes. I know most of them and I did football at one time, but I wasn't a great official. I was okay. I like broadcasting and playing a lot better than throwing the hanky.

So the ball walked back to the 33 yard line. It's second and 14 now. Fly sweep. Nope, they don't give it off. Here's a quick throw on a screen that is caught getting out over the 35 and diving close to the 40 is clower.

They'll put him right at the 40. That'll be a seven yard pickup and bring up third down at about seven. So they got about half of what they need. Yeah, that slant's been pretty good for Mount Spokane. They've been able to work that.

Linebackers have been so concerned about trying to stop the run that that little slant route from the outside has been open. So third and seven now for Mount Spokane as we near seven minutes remaining to play here in the fourth quarter. Three men split to the right side. They have Cody Basir along with Cash Chuga. One other man to the right.

Cheney showing a blitz and the left end came across and that got the left tackle to move. Let's see who they called this on. It's going to be a false start on Mount Spokane. I think the guard and the tight end and the fullback, the wide receiver. There's about five guys.

They're supposed to go on two and I think or on one and I think the center thought it was two because he did not snap. Everybody pretty much move. So that's. That was a boo boo. So a five yard penalty brings up third and 12.

Now from the 35 yard line line again, three receivers go to the right side, two to the left. In an empty backfield. Tweedy. And now more movement up front. There's going to be another five yard penalty.

That's why they're backups. Larry. That was just a guy trying to get Set. And he stumbled a little bit. He just kind of.

When you're a big dude and you start that motion starts going the wrong way. Pretty hard to stop. So third and 18 now for Mount Spokane back at their 30 yard line as this game drags on with turnovers and penalties. It's been a horribly sloppy game. Yes, it has.

He's not punting here, so no, no, he is at punting. So Maine boots it away and this is going to hit inside the 20 and roll back inside the 10 yard line. Spokane players or one of his blockers. And Mt. Spokane is going to get it inside the 10 yard line. Wow. I don't think that ball got farther than a foot and a half off the ground.

I think he hit a kind of a Noonan shot on that one. I think he topped it. Well, it might not have been carrier back there. I mean, he's punted pretty well in this game, so maybe that wasn't him back there? No, it was.

I don't know what happened on that one, but. But at any rate, it went right into the back of the blockers. And Mount Spokane has it at the nine yard line with 253 remaining to play here in regulation time. A score will put it over a 40 point difference. And with a minute running clock with.

Yeah, with very little time help that is. Where was that? You know, start of the fourth quarter. That have been nice. So, receivers to each side here for Ryder Tweedy, the quarterback for Mount Spokane.

You know, I mean it. I know they have backups in there, but you've got to kind of be careful in terms of how you attack. This looks like a quarterback draw here. So Tweedy, the quarterback in there on fourth and goal from the three yard line. They bring a man in motion and they'll run it on the fly sweep.

Running to the outside on the left side and not getting there is the ball carrier. That time it was Cash Tuga and he gets hit for a loss. And so Cheney holds and they'll get the ball back with a minute seven remaining to play. And that's kind of the classy thing to do it, you know, instead of trying to throw it and run the score up a little bit. Not that you're.

I know they're trying to get guys experience and do things. I think that was the right way to do it. It was a conservative call. Cheney was able to rally to the ball there. That was a nice play on both sides.

Loss of five on the play, but back to the eight yard line. And so the Blackhawks have the ball at their own eight. First down and 10 and we'll see what they do here. Do they run the ball a couple of times and end the game or did they try to throw and see what they can do here? Coffin in at quarterback, out of the shotgun formation.

Three wide receivers, and there's another bad snap. Comes back, bounces off the running back, picked up by the quarterback and he might get a yard up to the nine yard line. Another snap wide that time and Schwindemann wasn't expecting it. He couldn't catch it. And Coffin picked it up and got a yard.

That's gonna be something Cheney's gonna have to work on. They've got to improve that snap. Even the ones that were high messed up the timing of the quarterback. It's been a difficult issue, something that need to work on. Second and nine inside of 40 seconds remaining.

Handoff. Schwendemann off the right side, has a little opening and has a first down run out over the 20. They'll put him right at the 20 yard line. That's a gain of 11. His best run of the game.

And another Damon Orthodontics. First down. Good blocking on the right side that time. Created a nice little hole there. He got some backups.

The backer went to the right side kind of blew by where he's supposed to be. I think he missed the gap he was supposed to fill there and that's where Schwindemann went. Probably the last play of the game here. First and 10 at their own 20. They handed off Schwindemann again.

Into the middle he goes and he is spilled as he gets to about the 22 yard line for a gain of 2. And that'll do it. That ends our fourth quarter which is presented by Tirema and Cooper Tires. Mount Spokane got the ball to start the game, moved down the field and just actually a one play 60 yard drive took him nine seconds as TJ Haberman the quarterback found Bodie Gardner a 60 yard passing touchdown.

It was seven nothing after the PAT. After an exchange of turnovers, Mount Spokane gets the ball back and Matteo Sac amano has a 20 yard rushing touchdown and a two point conversion puts Mount Spokane on top by the score of 15 to nothing. As we go into the second quarter of play. Again the teams exchange Turnovers. Cheney gets the ball at the Mount Spokane 27, starts a 12 play drive that took better than four minutes.

And on the fourth and goal play they get a nine yard passing touchdown from Samuel Kaufman, their quarterback to their wide receiver Cordell Lauer. And the point after was no good. It was 15 to 6. Mount Spokane answered with a six play 67 yard drive that took a minute and a half off the clock. Haberman an eight yard passing touchdown to Ryan Borchers and the Pat Good made it a 226 game.

Then Mount Spokane's defense gets into the act. They get a interception return from it for a touchdown somewhere 30 to 35 yards on the return by Bodie Gardner. Patty good 29 to 6, Cheney gets the ball back and Mount Spokane does it again. It's another Gardner interception return for a touchdown. It's our play of the game.

Presented by Adams tractor. Second down and 10 high snap Cawthon to throw into the middle of the field. Picked off by Gardner again at the 48, inside the 40 down the right side 35, 30 down the sidelines. Got a block 20 15, 10 5. He did it again.

Bodie Gardner his second interception return for a touchdown. His third total touchdown of this game. And Mount Spokane takes a 35 to 6 lead with a minute 23 remaining to play here in the first half. Wow. And that's where it would be 36 to 6 at the half.

And Mount Spokane gets the ball back in the second half of play. Gardner a 14 yard pass from TJ Haberman. Haberman's third passing touchdown of the game. Gardner's fourth, fourth total touchdown in the game. The PAT was blocked.

Mount Spokane unofficially 59 rushing yards, 295 passing yards, 354 yards of offense. Cheney at 65 rushing 147 passing for 212 yards unofficially in this game Matteo Sac Amano led Mount Spokane seven carries, 59 yards and a touchdown.

So he basically had all their rushing touchdown or all their rushing yards. They had three other players that totaled carries and they got zero yards. All told, TJ Abram in passing through for 236 yards in this ball game. And then Tweedy came in and he had 59 passing yards in the ball game. Haberman in the second half 2-467- completed seven straight passes and ended the game with 14 out of 24 for 236 yards, two touchdowns, three touchdowns, excuse me, and one interception.

And then Tweedy had one interception late in the game. Gardner six catches, 148 yards and two touchdowns. Olson four for 53. Borchers an eight yard touchdown. Clover had three catches for 28 yards late in this game.

Tank Best ended up with 16 carries, 40 yards rushing for Cheney. Schwendemann had eight carries for 22 yards. Coffin passing was 21 out of 36 for 147 yards, two interceptions and one touchdown in the ball game. Cordell Laher Six catches, 47 yards and a touchdown. Collins 4 for 45, Stinson 4 for 31.
